This is an outstanding place with a wide variety of different foods. My personal recommendations are the double cheeseburger, the salad bar, and the enormous cakes and cheesecakes they display. It's s little pricier than similar options, but totally worth it for lunch or dinner on occasion. The location is West Columbia is much the same, but I like the arrangement of that physical location somewhat better than this one.

Can never go wrong here. I've had the chef salad, French dip, chili, devil's cheesecake, and chocolate cake. My taste buds are continuously and consistently pleased when I come to this restaurant. I'm usually thinking about the food days after I've eaten it. It's worth the money!

I enjoyed my food at East Bay, but I was extremely disappointed that even though I chose to eat-in instead of take my food to-go, I was still served my food and beverage in single-use plastic containers instead of real dishes/cups. In addition, only plastic silverware was available. I prefer to eat in restaurants that value not only quality of the food but also how it is served. I would love to eat here again but will not as long as single-use plastics are a part of the experience. Purchasing reusable bowls, cups, and silverware would save the restaurant money long-term, and the amount of waste produced by this establishment would be significantly less. Thank you for your time and consideration.

The downtown location is a disappointment. I walked in and stood in front of three employees and it took them almost 7 minutes to acknowledge that I was there and to wait on me. There was only one other person in the restaurant at that time and they were seated. Apparently, I had interrupted a particularly meaningful conversation as they seemed irritated at my presence. I was treated to short, snappy answers to my questions and my order. Once my order was finally filled, it was placed behind the baskets of cookies and other treats on the counter, and the girl walked off. I have very bad shoulders due to arthritis and struggled to reach and retrieve my order so that I could leave. Although it was obvious to all behind the counter that I could not reach my order, NO ONE OFFERED TO MOVE IT TOWARD ME OR HAND IT TO ME. I shall not return not spend my money there again. Should I desire East Bay food in the future, I will drive to the one on Hwy 378 across from Lexington Hospital. I have had excellent service at the West Columbia location. In as much as I live in Forest Acres, I think that speaks to my desire to have better service. I hope the downtown Columbia location will devote a bit of time to customer service training.

Can't believe I've never stopped by! First off, they are very clean and spotless. They also have hand sanitizing stations everywhere. They deliver the food to your table with gloves on. The employees are very friendly, and most importantly the food is delicious! They have an extensive menu so your sure to find something for you :)

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. My coworker and I ordered lunch from here today. We saw that there was a $3.00 delivery fee so I called to place the order and asked the young lady if we would both be charged a delivery fee. She stated that if we both used credit cards we would but if one of us used cash they could split the fee so we ordered. When the delivery driver arrived we both were charged $3.00 delivery fees on orders less than $10.00. I explained to the deliver driver what I was told and he called the manager who said there was nothing he could do. I sent my order back because I refuse to pay a $3.00 delivery fee for a $6.00 spud. I called the manager who still said there was nothing he could do. A i asked was that 1 of the delivery fees be take off so she and I could split it like we were told we could do. Why is that so much to ask for? As a manager customer service should be a priority and in this establishment it is NOT.

Nice, clean bathrooms which are easily accessible from the neighboring Marriott. However, I noticed this business supported the anti-wall anti-Trump movie at the local theatre, but forbids non customers from using their toilets. As a victim of violent crime in Cbia, I would like to see less hypocritical behavior on behalf of Colombia's left wing establishments - please open your restroom to our city's primarily African-American homeless population, and give them free food as well.

Customer service was good but I was not happy with my sandwich. I got what I think was called the Chicken Charleston because l called and asked for a Philly style sandwich. I paid almost $11 for this sandwich. When I received my sandwich I was initially very disappointed in the amount of meat that was on it. The sandwich was very dry even though it had honey mustard on it. I asked for extra onions and no peppers but I fought to find any onions. There was small amount of chips and no pickle as promised by the young lady on the phone. To be a pregnant woman with food cravings, it broke my hungry heart to receive that mediocracry in an $11 sandwich.

I ordered via delivery. One salad was not delivered. I called and let them know. They said it would be delivered asap. I have been waiting 20 min..... Unacceptable. Never got my salad had to call again and schedule a refund. I wont be ordering from them for a long time. Correct, I wasn't waiting for your delivery person. You never called me to tell me the salad has arrived. If you call to let me know about the original delivery, then you should call to nofity my about supplemental delivery. I am not going to wait for you while the rest of my family was having lunch.

Gotta be honest. Not a great experience. Maybe I caught you at a bad time. 8:00 tonight. Counter staff were polite, but the guys behind the pass were clearly distracted. Lots of vulgarity and talking about "taking acid." I waited about 30 minutes for my Chicken Charleston which was cold. Fries were overcooked and stale. Sorry... I had high hopes.

The deli is downtown just a few short blocks from the Columbia Art museum and the state capitol building. Service was good and friendly and with a smile. My sandwich was excellent. The salad bar was also well appointed with fresh ingredients including several types of lettuce and veggies. There was also fresh fruit on the bar. Highly recommended.

The woman who took my order was very polite and curtious but the when I told the lady that brought my food to me and I told her that the order was wrong that I asked for regular fies not the home fries she got an aditude, thenit took at least thwel minute for the replacement and when the same lady brought out my fries she didn't place them on the table she all but threw them an walked off, I have been a patron of Eastbay for almost a year now and have never been treated with such disrespec.. I am not sure what her name is, but it's 8:55am on Thursday August 24th and if I was her supervisor iwould at least give her a Stern talking to and send her home for the rest of the da, well she says she's one of the managers but I don't believe it because like I said i'vr been coming here for a while and unless she was hired as a manager as far as I know the manager for this shift is one of the cooks

So....we ordered a Cuban sandwich and an Italian sandwich at the downtown Columbia location. During the ring up, the register freezes up. The cashier assured us that the kitchen received the order, and that they would bring our order out shortly. We sat and watched the rest of our party get their food. The kitchen never got our order, and the young cashier and manager never apologized. ..just blamed it on the register. The register is NOT the one that told us our food would be out shortly. Sorry customer service from the new generation.

I stumbled upon this place during the annual Latin Festival in the downtown Columbia area. The staff was super friendly, the bathrooms were clean, the grilled cheese & chicken finger kids meals were the best kids meals I've had... ANYWHERE! I definitely recommend this location!

Great place to lunch in downtown Columbia. It can get crowded, but there is indoor and outdoor seating. Sandwiches are huge, salads are very good, and large slices of desserts. My favorite is the carrot cake. Delivery is also fast. Gluten free options! Great staff. I left my wallet on the table a few visits agoand didn't realize it till hours later. Got it back with everything in tact.

So cute! I went with a friend for her birthday lunch after we did outdoor yoga on the square and a tour of the Columbia Art Museum. My cuban was very good. EBD has a salad bar. I haven't tried this bar, but the EBD across from Lexington Hospital has a fantastic salad bar.

Good food, good menu variety, friendly staff. I went during peak lunch time, and the wait was still minimal for my order. About a 10 minute wait. Only gave 4 out of 5 stars because the tables weren't getting bussed in a timely manner. Most of the incoming customers were having to sit at dirty tables. But, like I said, it was very busy. They should hire an extra person during peak hours to keep the restaurant more presentable. Otherwise, it was a very positive experience.

Fast service, good food. They have a great selection of sandwiches or you can choose the salad bar. This location is accessible by a short walk from anywhere downtown, since parking nearby is usually full. If desired, you can sit inside or out depending on the weather.

The customer service was terrible. I split a turkey patty melt and Greek salad with a coworker. The Greek salad with chicken had these little pieces of hard chicken that you could break your teeth on. I ordered lots of olives and tomatoes. There was only 5 cubes of tomato and 7 sliced blck olives on it. Yes, I counted. The patty melt was decent but not worth $9. I ordered a drink and had t beg for the cup. The guy just handed me a bag and walked away. I will not waste my money here again.

If I could give a negative review I would. We ordered 2 hours ago, still no food, and we got a call a hour ago the guy had the right address went to the wrong place. So close to canceling my order and just saying forget it. Plus we are getting charged a extra 3 dollars as an additional delivery fee due to the delivery guy going to the wrong place.

Extremely dissapointed!! Ordered delivery through grubhub. Half the order was missing (a water and also a potato). Called restaurant as soon as i opened the bag within 3 minutes of delivery driver leaving. Girl on phone had an attitude but said she would send someone with rest of order...... Restaurant is less than 2 miles from location and it has been over an hour and noone has been back. after just checking reviews on grubhub, its happened before for them to forget things and never send the rest. So dissapointed!! Continuation: after an hour and a half of waiting i called grubhub to complain. They spoke with restaurant and was told there was no delivery driver and would be a while longer. Decided to just get a refund for missing items. Will order from somewhere else i guess.

My family and I LOVE some East Bay Deli. Our first experience was in Charleston, SC and we have enjoyed every visit since. We have eaten at two restaurants in Charleston and to restaurants in Columbia as what. I live in Florence and really hope they would open up a store there.

I've eaten at the Charleston location as well as Columbia and have never had a bad experience with food or service. I've tried all the signature sandwiches and each has a unique taste to it. I've fallen in love with The Citadel and regularly get that along with chips, a pickle, and a drink. The sweet tea and lemonade is always fresh and on point, never too sweet or too bitter. Highly recommended any location and any sandwich.
