Soooooo good! Just went for the first time. Food came quickly, staff was awesome, food was delicious, pulled pork and chicken breast were really tender. There were a variety of BBQ sauces, kids meals were plentiful and sides were outstanding. Nice atmosphere and very affordable. We will definitely be back!

Didn't have time for pictures today... too hungry. I enjoyed pulled pork, vinegar slaw and fresh cut fries. Ate in but took some banana pudding home. Everything was good! Very nice wait staff and the location by IUPUI was doing a strong business. Try and bourbon BBQ sauce

We ordered from City Barbeque through Door Dash. The food was delicious but initially they forgot our barbecue sauce. When I called, they actually sent someone to our house from the restaurant to deliver the sauce! This is far above and beyond customer service we have received dealing with restaurants through Door Dash. Everything tasted amazing!

Some of best customer service I've experienced. Manager on duty for our doordash order on 9/6 drove to our house to deliver the sauce that was missing from our order. It didn't hurt that the food was great. We'll definitely order from here again.

I believe the employee who helped my friend and I is named José. He was extremely friendly and helpful. Our food was brought out super fast and was amazing! José allowed us to sample the chipotle rib meat which was so delicious and I ended up purchasing it the very next day. This was the BEST experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant, including any City Barbeque. My friend had never been before and now she is a loyal customer (she wanted to eat at City Barbeque again the very next day on our journey home). This was of course because the food was so delicious, but also because of the fantastic customer service that was shown by your employee, José. I hope I am getting his name correct, it is the name on the receipt, but I want to make sure that he knows how much we appreciate the service that was shown to my friend and I. I noticed that he walked around and checked on the other customers as well which was commendable. I can’t wait to visit the Ballantyne City Barbeque when I am in the area again!

A pretty big place near IUPUI. Went on Sunday before labor day and since it was our first time they gave us free drinks for all 4 in the party. Order at the counter and they call name when done. The Turkey was moist and tender and really good. Brisket was good but crust was salty, pulled chicken was mild and tasty. Collards very good and corn pudding good. Cornbread was ok. Lots of good food. Would come back again. Mac & cheese was ok.

We ordered online when we ordered they said 5 mins. We we're expecting a longer wait time but welcomed the fast service. We hurried up and got the kids in the car and drove straight there. We live 10 mins away so I figured the order would be ready. When I walked in the lady said I was just about to call you - we don't have brisket. Do you want us to substitute? It will take us 30 mins to make it... What?!?! A BBQ place that doesn't have brisket ready at 6pm on a Friday??? Even though my order was to be ready in 5min you hadn't called at 10min to tell me. I wouldn't have rushed to get kid my 4 kids out the door to get there. I could have taken my time and got brisket and everything would have been fine. In fact I would have rated 5 stars!! THE FOOD WAS GREAT! The ribs were so so, but the pulled pork was amazing. So were the hush puppies and the bread!

Unbelievable customer service experience while having a business lunch. Another customer accidentally took my order of burnt ends. It was the last order before they ran out. The staff responded immediately, rectified the situation and made sure that I was happy. They definitely went out of there way here and it was unexpected. Sometimes I feel that customer service is dead today but this restored my faith that some still value taking care of people. Well done and thank you!

This place is amazing. My husband and I decided to stop here and get food to go on the way home (we live like 4-5 mins away so definitely no reduction in quality or anything) and got the $25 family meal. We chose pulled pork, mac & cheese, baked beans w/ brisket pieces, and Texas toast. It came with cornbread and our choice of cups of sauces on the side. Everything was super tasty and the pulled pork melts in your mouth. The sweeter sauce is the best and the hot sauce is great too. The macaroni was fine, nothing crazy, but the beans were perfect. We will definitely be going back.

We are very new to Indiana and decided to go down to the Canal Walk and decided to have lunch and when searching for close restaurants the City Barbecue popped up it is within short walking distance from the Canal and let me tell you it is definitely worth the walk! From the moment you walk through the door it smells amazing the food is made from scratch and smoked on site! The pulled pork is perfect without any sauce and the collard greens Omg!! The Collard Greens are absolutely to die for!!! They are the best greens I've ever had at a restaurant, they reminded me of home! Along with the kettle brewed sweet tea!!! The staff was absolutely amazing and very welcoming and friendly they went out of their way to explain everything to us and gave us samples of the meat and the collard greens too that's how I fell in love with this place!! It is definitely my new favorite Barbecue place I will definitely be back!!

The best part of the barbeque stuff here is they are not strongly seasoned meat themselves and you can grab whatever sauce you want with the meat and however much you want. I tried the sampler platter and it was very satisfying. Will revisit again.

City Barbeque has very good barbecue I like their variety of sauces that they had the macaroni and cheese was just okay need more flavor or cheese wasn't thick enough vinegar slaw didn't have a whole lot of flavor to it but the BBQ beans we're good this place it had good barbecue. I do go to a lot of barbecue places. This is not my favorite one but it does have good barbecue.

I have been to this location a few times , and for the most part it is OK , but i was there this past week and the food was terrible. I ordered my usually pick two meats and had the brisket and smoked turkey. The brisket was so over cooked it fell apart and crumbled on my plate, and was so dry. The turkey was also dry and rubbery. Not sure what happened , but who ever was running the pits that day needed some training on how to BBQ. I liked this location over the greenwood location , but now im not sure if i will ever go back to both.

The food is sooo good!! I had the smoked half chicken and Mac n Cheese. The smoked chicken is good on its own but if you want to try their sauce, go with the bourbon sauce. I don't know why it isn't bottled and sold on its own. It has a lil heat, smoky, savory, sweet and tangy. It's a smooth wonderful flavor and it increased the yum factor of the smoked chicken by a factor of ten. Just yummy food. The Mac was perfection, creamy and cheesy. I can't wait to eat more food from here!

City Barbecue is top of the list for our Southern experience meals. Love the casual atmosphere and as for the food big tick. Always have mixture of 2 or 3 meats/chicken and big selection of sides (hush puppies are great). Also the ribs are very good.Great selection of sauces. Never leave the place hungry. Big shout out to the big guy (dont know his name.) who is always around the tables . He is a great ambassador for your business.

Ordered via Doordash last evening. First, the Doordash service was absolutely excellent. As for City BBQ, they were out of every meat except brisket and chicken. Took 3 phone calls from the Doordash driver to change my order to what meats they actually have, the first two calls City BBQ had provided the driver the incorrect information. I also received the incorrect sides. NOT ONE CALL FROM City BBQ to apologize or offer some type of discount. Piss poor service.

You can't go wrong with City BBQ. The wife and I split the sampler platter which included brisket, pulled pork, turkey and a sausage. The brisket is the star of that platter but it all was tasty and juicy. All of their sides are terrific too. The dining room was clean and their staff very friendly.

I went to City BBQ for the first time ever last night after I had been hearing rave reviews about their food for quite some time. I wanted to surprise my husband as well since he had never eaten there either. Well, they were out of a lot of stuff. No ribs, no bacon, and no cornbread. However, the staff was not rude about it and were very accommodating. They understood the situation. I called the manager today and spoke with Kendall who apologized and confirmed that my experience was not the norm. She explained they had had a conference with a lot of people that depleted their food supply. I understood completely. I am giving them a 5 star review based on how they handled my situation. Trust me, its not just food quality that makes you want to go back to a restaurant, its also the atmosphere, the staff, the management team, and how they handle the curve balls the restaurant business can throw your way. I am super impressed with the professionalism I encountered by all employees at this location and while this was my first visit- it won't be my last.

Someone recommended City Barbeque to us. We were quite underwhelmed. We ordered the combo plate which was expensive, small portion, and somewhat dry. Lancaster's is much better but too far from where we live. My husband liked the peach cobbler but that was it. We probably won't go back.

A bit on the pricier side but I love coming. The food always tastes great and City Barbeque fries are some of the best you can get. They're great along with the barbeque sauces and the meats make delicious sandwiches. This particular location gets busy for lunch but it's not too crowded at dinner time. I'm definitely going to keep coming back.

The whole team was fantastic. The quality of the customer service is outstanding. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted like family, and that’s just the beginning. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and go the extra mile to provide excellent service. From bringing out free samples to the table next to us because they were new to the City Barbeque experience (as they did for us our first time) to offering suggestions the entire ordering process doesn’t feel rushed but rather part of the experience and atmosphere. My order is always correct, hot, and ready quickly. The dining area is always clean and welcoming, and I love the pick your sauce station. The lemonade is a family favorite, and it’s really good by itself or mixed with Mountain Dew... seriously, try it mixed with Mountain Dew. These people are awesome and I couldn’t ask for a better time when I’ve got the need for some good barbeque!

This lovely BBQ place has the atmosphere of an indoor cookout. You can order in person or through the app, and you can sample any of the side items to see if they are to your liking. I had the brisket, but I tried many of the sides as well. The baked beans, macaroni and cheese, hush puppies, cornbread and peach cobbler were all top notch. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and the panoply of sauces was amazing!

We placed our order and waited at least 10 minutes while they kept filling orders placed after ours. Finally I asked girl if they fill orders in order that they was placed. She then finally turned around and asked guy that was filling orders about our food. Seems they have our food to someone after us. After waiting several more minutes she gave me part of our order. She gave me a red card with a number and said that they would bring out to us. After another 10 minute wait i went up to see where the rest of our food was. This place is a joke. Way over priced for the service, quality and quantity of food. This was our first and last trip to city BBQ.

I got the City Sampler (Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Sausage, Turkey, 2 sides and Texas Toast. Was a little disappointed in the brisket which hurts because that should be the highlight of any BBQ meal. The sausage was actually really good and the sides were good (I got the baked beans and corn pudding). Probably deserves another try, might have just been an off day.

The City Barbeque was okay. I can appreciate the signs to let customers know in advance if you are out of a certain selection. If management is aware of a popular dish or meat item, how much trouble is it to prepare more the next day. That way your satisfying your customers need and not leave them disappointed if they can't come in first thing in the AM. With that said, the brisket was overcooked (dry) and my husband didn't care for the hot links.

It wasn't bad, it just didn't have any 'kick ' in the flavor of the food. I ordered the breast and wing (came with Texas toast) , pulled pork, baked beans and fries. Bland to say the least.. and the not worth the prices they charged. Everything is al la carte.. The sauce bar was my highlight.

This restaurant came to my job as a new vendor. They have only brisket, pulled pork, and pulled chicken sandwiches. Lunch is 12 - 2 and I went about 12:45. They had no buns so there goes the sandwich. They weren’t knocking off anything price wise so you just got naked meat. I paid $2 for. Side of mac n cheese and got 3 1/2 small slices of brisket and an ice cream scoop of stove top mac

Went to City Barbeque on Sunday with my son. The meat had good flavor but we weren't impressed with the sides. The fries were fresh and hot, macaroni and cheese was very plain with no taste, the greens were salty and the potato salad taste more like mash potatoes with a hint of potato salad taste. The banana pudding was good but I had better. I was expecting more after spending $48 for two people. We both ordered two meats with two sides, a drink and one desert (banana pudding). Won't be doing this again

My beautiful bride had the Turkey, the restroom was very clean and the employees were very kind and helpful for our first time visit. I've always got a great meal from City BBQ. Today I got my usual; brisket on bun, macaroni & cheese and the collard greens. My BBQ sauces are bourbon and brushfire. I usually mix them together for my own unique blend of sauce. They have a nice variety of sauces I'm sure you'll find something you'll like. I had a wonderful pulled pork sandwich while I waited for my slab of to go ribs. I loved that staff didn't use the crowd due to the holiday as a excuse for lackluster performance. There is no table service, but rather counter ordering. Keeping in mind this is my opinion, based on my preferences, the pulled pork was okay, but not remarkable. It was a bit on the dry side. The baked beans with brisket (where was the brisket?) were sweet, but the overall flavor was rather single-noted. We asked for crispy fries, but they were on the more limp side, but they had a nice potato-y flavor. Will we return? Probably not...there are better options elsewhere.

My favorite barbecue in Charlotte North Carolina... they're not trying to serve just Carolina q but doing the best from the barbecues they tried around the country... They're pulled pork has a memphis-style rub on it so you give a crust, their brisket copy Blacks from Central Texas... Great sides!!! I would and have recommended and have taken people to see barbecue when I was in Charlotte.

Omg! Now I've had some pretty amazing bbq in my life and all over this country but this place here is AMAZING!!!!! From the secret pulled rib (not on the menu) to the variety of different bbq sauces (including an apple bbq sauce) EVERYTHING was truly excellent! The homemade mac n cheese was actually creamy... The turkey was better than my grandma's on Thanksgiving... They have pulled chicken that melted in your mouth. Even my 8 year old son ate all of his beef brisket. You have to try it...you won't be sorry! We will be back!!!!

Food is good, the overwhelming smell of meat and smoke over take your senses when you walk in. I am a neat water and that smell was making me feel sick. We took our food to go. My mom got the more cowbell, she said it was quite good. She agreed that the smokey smell is too much, they need to ventilate, the restaurant better. For that reason and the staff wasn't the most professional it gets three stars.

The positive: the food was good. The BBQ, being the main point of the restaurant had good flavor and wasn't dry. The collard greens were delicious, some of the best I've had. The variety of sauces we're also quite delicious and on par with the various other places in the city. The meh: the price is al a carte so it can get pricey quick. The BBQ I didn't feel warranted the higher price compared to other places in the area. However, the collard greens did. In other words, the price will limit my regular attendance in favor of a lower cost location. The poor: seating space, for what is apparently a popular place, there didn't seem to be adequate seating to match.

Went yesterday our food was delicious. Except for the fact about an hour later my husband was violently ill. I am a nurse and he has all the signs of food poisoning. He had the turkey which he usually loves at bbq places. Please make sure your meats are refrigerated properly and not out of date you can literally kill someone.

Outstanding BBQ, especially the chicken and brisket. The okra is particularly fresh and delicious. The cornbread and the Mac and cheese were not up to the same standard; dry and a bit bland. Famous Dave's BBQ sets the standard for cornbread. The City BBQ can't even come close -- but the heavenly meats more than make up for that.

I had placed an online order valued at ($29) and when I got there a few minutes early (scheduled pickup @ 315pm). The cashier asked for my name. I said my last name and she turned around and asked someone else if that was my food. I said is the coleslaw in the bag she said yes. Well I order the family meal (my 2nd visit) and the way they package the food. You can't tell what's what. My finance took the bag and I bought a drink (which should have been included in the price but it wasn't it). So I didn't think to look at the receipt stapled to the bag (Duh!) nor did the cashier. The biggest take away is that my fiance doesn't eat PORK. We didn't figure that out until half way through. Fries were cold, very salty and soggy. Bad experience but when I called up there I had to explain my story 3 times until I got the manager, Steve. He needs to learn how to listen to the customer. Have a pen and paper ready to take notes. Then resolve this matter. I'm supposed to go back up there to get my order at 6 pm but I really just want my $$ back. Not happy with the service.

The absolutely most tender meat I've had in my life. I went to one before and I wasn't too happy with it but this one was definitely exceptional. Some of the sauces was missing a little bit of spice to it but that's easy to Ram up if you want extra spice add some jalapenos. They have fresh ones available to use as you please. The staff was unbelievably sweet and kind. They checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything. We had some chicken that I felt wasn't cooked thoroughly enough, the staff was able to switch it out for turkey with no issues.

Served City Barbeque at a party I gave today for over 30 people. Jose at Ballantyne helped this northern transplant plan the menu, and he was spot on! The pork and chicken were a big hit as well as the vinegar slaw and mac 'n cheese. Look forward to trying more of the menu selections soon.

Tried the Brisket to go. Luckily I asked if the bag included sauce. The guy says no, now why would you not say that and tell customer what options they had. On a good note the lady in front asked about the dessert they sitting there and he handed her one to have with her dinner. So maybe I experienced that brain dead moment, worth revisiting. Brisket was excellent.
