I always get the Big T Dinner and am always satisfied with the quality and portions given. Price is right. Sometimes their is a line, but it is worth it. Family owned business. And Fridays/Saturdays they have Ox Tail.. if you haven't tried it, you dont know what you are missing.

The food may be alright but the people working there are about as unpleasant as possible without being overtly rude. Very little information is posted about the options for ordering but if you ask any questions, she rolls her eyes and acts like your being completely unreasonable. The food isn't good enough to tolerate being treated like such a problem. If others we were with had not already ordered, we would have just left.

It was quiet, cheap, and quick. I love the staff! Buncha cute ladies and funny young guy. I had a cheeseburger with everything and loved it. Definitely could use some decorating and a lil re-modelling. I'm going to visit more, the hash looks great.

May not look like much but this is one of Columbia's best and very few seem to know about it. Phenomenal taste and a decent price. Don't come for the atmosphere, come for the food. Not a buffet but I've never left hungry. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stopped for lunch while traveling the interstate and really enjoyed the BBQ and banana pudding. I had got hot BBQ sauce and she had mild. We were both pleased. If you are a BBQ fan, you need to eat there.

raised on g ferry but moved to atlanta in 2012, long story short i stop here every time i’m in town, atlanta bbq is expensive and terrible (this is it, big daddy’s, and others are terrible). big Ts is by far greater than any home cooking there. i even take an extra plate home. been eating here since 96 and besides the hash everything tastes the exact same. love it.

The oxtails and rice is typically what keeps me going back. The service is EXTREMELY slow!!! It shouldn't take 30 minutes to order off the buffet. If they'd see how much the lady at register impacts the speed of service and customer satisfaction. An extra register would also be helpful. I've left and seen customers walk out due to the wait.

Went there this pass saturday there was a elderly woman eating off the serving spoon in rhe back had to wait 30mins for a cheesburger which only had tomato pickles and onion with ketchup and it was supposed to be all the way. Called back and they promise more food for today and they left me hold and hungup on me!!!

Good food and good service. Would have been five stars but a little pricey in my opinion. Take that with a grain of salt though, I'm well aware that one must pay for good quality BBQ. I generally go in and order BBQ, hash, rice, Cole slaw and Mac & Cheese to go. I'll go back and recommend this place to all that want good southern BBQ. But I must say this, I have relatives in Hemingway S.C., oh yeah, those that know see where this is going. Best BBQ this side of the Mississippi River, Scott's BBQ in Hemingway. Google them. When I have time I will drive from Columbia to there just to bring their BBQ back home and I'm not the only one

If I could leave zero stars I would. The worst service I've ever encountered. I'll never give a dime of my money to this hovel. Called back to complain and the manager wouldnt even come to the phone when no one was even in there. Over 30 minutes for 2 cheeseburgers with no customers in there and get an attitude cause I ask whats taking so long??? Not today. Ill be sure to let everyine know to never eat here.

I ordered the chop bbq plate came with 2 sides and a roll. The side choices were green beans mac n cheese and greens the bbq was ok they are stingy with the sauce and i got the greens( a lot of stem pieces in there) and mac n cheese tasted dry and like it came out of the box that was my 1st time there for me and my party of 3 and there was no raving compliments going on.

Love me some Big T's Bar-B-Que! I usually get mine from the Gadsden location. Great hash and rice as well as the fish! I have never been disappointed by the items on the extensive menu. The East Columbia location is a blessing when I'm in town. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and visit soon. You won't regret it.

Big T was suggested to me by a lady at the hotel I am staying at. The sides, mac & cheese and green beans, were both delicious. The hash over rice was also very, very good. The fried chicken was moist, but the juice wasn't running down my arm. That's a plus as far as I'm concerned. It also tasted homemade and not "fastfoody". The pulled pork sandwich ample in size, was moist, and tasted okay. Finally, I got good service. Big T is *WAY* better than Maurice's, but I have to just accept that South Carolina bbq and my pallet just don't get along. My Kansas City roots are just too strong. Still, if you like SC style bbq, then I recommend this place.

Do not order food from here. The ribs are indistinguishable from beef jerky, no joke. The “chopped bbq” is a small cup of mashed up shredded flavorless mush. The potato salad isn’t bad, too many eggs in it though. Also, took 2.5 hours...HOURS to make my food when I ordered online from a hotel 4 mins away. $50 wasted. Will never order from Big T again. I went to the place in the shopping center on Sumter Hy. They have a place also farther down in Lower Richland that I want to try as it is the original. Though this place is spartan in decor, the food was very good. Both my dining partner and I agreed that the Q was quite delicious. We were very happy to find them open until 9p on Monday as we had a strong urge for bbq that night, and we were quite pleased.

The food is good. The customer service has been trash lately. They accept call in orders then make you wait 30 minutes plus for them to cook your food after you arrive. Also, with all due respect... the older women (the one with glasses on the register & the one with short hair on the line who cooks) have horrible attitudes. Been wanting some BBQ for a while so I decided to look up a few places in Columbia, after coming across this place online I decided to go check it out with my boyfriend over lunch and to my surprise the reviews on this place were on point. I had hash,rice, pull pork and mac n cheese it was so good. We will most definitely go there to eat again. I gave 4 stars and not 5 my tea could have been better but all in all good place to try out.

Excellent rice and hash with a sweet and spicy taste. Bbq was also very good- flavored and cooked evenly. I saved this as a favorite and I will definitely be back! Opportunities for improvement (why I didn't give 5/5): Somewhat confusing set up as to where to order then pay. Also the staff seemed a little preoccupied. Finally- display desserts more prominently so they don't look like bakery clearance rack.

I went into the Garners Ferry Road restaraunt today. Ordered 4 meals. The chicken tasted like baked chicken with sauce on it. The hash and rice was OK. The macaroni was not good. The greens tasted kinda old. Last time I ordered ribs from there. You can tell they had been around for a while. They were dry and tough. Back in the day their food was the bomb. Quality has really fallen!!!!!!

It's a shame this Restaurant takes forever to make your food. I usually only go to this place to get their lemonade. But when you are the only customer in line, and it takes 10 minutes to find a jug to put the lemonade in is absolutely ridiculous!! I have never given any restaurant a bad review until now. Big T needs to hire more efficient younger workers, instead of his mother or grandmother working the register. It should not take 20 minutes to make a plate of food. And it definitely should not take 10 minutes to put Lemonade in a jug! Please do better or you will never receive my business again!

I really had high hopes for their food, but was let down. It use to be good a few years ago I see the chain has gone downhill. Ordered the hash and rice dinner with rib and 2 veggies. Rice and hash was okay. Rib was very dry and too much fat for my liking. Collards were waaaay too spicy and mac and cheese was dry as well. Desserts looked as if they've been sitting for days. Tried my sister's red velvet cake and DRY! I won't be back.

Quintessential Southern Bar-b-que. This unassuming little joint is making outstanding Carolina comfort food and is absolutely worth a visit. We came hungry and tried everything we could. Everything is delicious, and their mustard sauce is magical. Definitely get the greens. The hash and rice were a new experience for us, and now we don't understand how it isn't served at every BBQ joint. The fried chicken is the best we've had since momma made it over the stove in her cast iron. Ribs? Oh yeah. Pulled pork. You better believe it. I'm glad we live on the west coast, or I'd be here for 3 a day.

I'm a regular, when we need some BBQ carryout quick I come here. I love their macaroni (one of the best I've ever had), collards, lemonade, and hash. Their chopped pork is adequate but unremarkable. Do not like their ribs or fried chicken. Can be a little chintzy at times with portions, depending on which server you get.
