No matter what time of year we visit Sardella's, the food is always consistently good. We love the atmosphere. The staff is professional and welcoming.

Very nice Italian restaurant. Both of our entrees (lobster ravioli and pasta with chicken, mushrooms and Gorgonzola sauce) were excellent. The ambiance was nice, the place is not huge but had a nice bustling kind of vibe with an open plan with the bar area on one side and the dining room subdivided by a half wall on the other, with a fireplace. Beware the question sparkling or still water and ask for tap unless you want the $7.00 bottle of still spring water (I guess I am naive). Recommended. The desserts looked awesome but no room. Prices seemed in line for the area. Street parking seems generally available.

My husband and I went there with our dog after being turned away from another place who were listed as pet friendly but were no longer allowing dogs. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The wait staff very friendly and efficient--even bringing water over for our dog and adding a meatball to our order for him. We started with an order of garlic bread and escargot. The escargot was amazing with a sauce of garlic, gorgonzola cheese, fresh herbs and cognac. And the bread was very garlicky. We then split an order of linguine and clams with garlic green beans. The linguine was so so (It had onions which I didn't care for) but everything else overcompensated for it. We will definitely stop here again on our next trip here.

BEST place in Newport for a rehearsal dinner! The food, service, menu, atmosphere, and location are all perfect! Parking was easy and very accessible even for our older guests. Staff leading up to the event was also superb. Would definitely recommend hosting events here!!

Worst experience. Arrived exactly on time for our reservation. Found ourselves 15th in line. When we questioned when we would be seated we were told a group of 15 just walked in and it would be 5 min. 45 minutes later we were finally seated. This is not a quality italian restaurant. No candles. No table cloths. No cloth napkins. Once seated we waited more than half hour to order without a server. We had to ask for bread When it arrived, Nothing with it. Just plain bread. No butte, oil ,Parma, etc or anything. Atmosphere was not good at all. Stuck us in back room like a cafeteria. Food was mediocre at best. Chicken parmigiana was thick but mushy and watery. My fiance's bolonais was only eaten for 4 bites. We chose this restaurant because of its many great reviews. Beware!!!! Its not a place you will like. Please take this review seriously. I'm not one to write negatives reviews lightly. Thank you.

Very nice restaurant, food was delicious, had the veal parmigiana and it was the real deal(hard to find!), very good!!! Homemade bread was excellent, service was very good as well. All of the staff was friendly and very attentive. Will definitely go again!

Nice find on a snowy Friday Newport night. Got there for the start of the dinner service. What better way to start than two Tiramisu Martinis delicious. Food was spectacular. Service was great and the fireplace made the night complete.

Wow.....top notch restaurant, from appetizers to dessert. I can not wait to come back even if it's 2 hours away from my house. I got the veal chop....mouthwatering, my husband got shrimp wrapped in prosciutto with a pesto sauce & my son got chicken parm just like home!!!!! Service was great also

Really nice food but when we walked in, a waitress was having an argument with a manager. She walked past us and called him a "jackass". It felt like we were having dinner at a friends house but you felt uncomfortable the entire time knowing they're having a domestic!

Terrific dinner tonight after a very long day touring the Newport cottages. Servers were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Very large portions. I had chicken sorrento & my girlfriend had the manicotti. Leftovers of both going home with us. Ambiance was very good. Dining outside or inside with the door walls open.

Everything we ate was one of the best dishes we have ever had. The service was good, not rushed. The restaurant was packed with a long line of people outside, we didn't have a reservation, but the Manager moved everyone through with only a 20 minute wait.

I visited Sardella's Italian Restaurant for a wedding rehearsal dinner. I had my elderly father with me and the room was on the second floor up a very dark stairway. On a positive note, there was a single unisex bathroom right near our table. The artisan bread was very crusty and chewy good. The 3 main courses were served plated family style on towers and were good. Service was awesome. The bar was good. I found on-street parking directly in rear of the restaurant.

Great service and good food, drinks were ok. Mojito was overpriced for what it was and it was not very good. The veal parmesan was amazing and a huge portion. The prosciutto raviolis we had were good but the sauce could have been more flavorful and the portion a little larger to fit in with the rest of the dishes. Over all great atmosphere and fun place for dinner!

We scheduled an early dinner and thank goodness.....it is a popular place! And for good reason, the food is very very good! The service is attentive and if you like a lively atmosphere, Sardella's is for you! Some delightful engaging locals inhabit the bar area for the cocktail hour. Eating at the bar is permitted, even encouraged. We recommend you try Sardella's during a visit to Newport!!

Went with our puppy. The food was great. The service people were outstanding. A great place to go for anyone especially if you have your dog with you. We happen to have our 12 week old Weimaraner puppy with us and it was a “god send” to be able to have a good meal in a great atmosphere, outside on the patio and have our puppy so welcomed. The staff was exceptional in making us and all the guests welcome. Several of the wait staff and bus staff came over to say hi to us and our pup. It was just a good experience. Waitress was great too

Made a reservation in advance to ensure we would have a place to dine Labor Day weekend. Arrived on time and we were greeted by a dismissive tall blonde hostess who sent us to another host station. We were seated in a back room with very very loud groups. We ordered entrees and appetizers as soon as we sat down because we were hungry. We received one appetizer on time and then proceeded to wait an hour for the rest of the meal. It never came. The waitress was apologetic but on our way out (without eating dinner) the blonde hostess made a snarky rude remark about it being labor day - as if we should expect NOT to eat even though we had a reservation!!! RUDE RUDE RUDE. Fire this lady. She's a liability. We'll never be back and we will tell all our friends not to eat there. Ever. There are so many better choices to dine in Newport.

Attention. They charged more than the receipt. The credit card reported me I got charged more than 22% (a larger number than I wrote) from a meal. The food was ok, not yummy but with long wait. Service was good, I mean good attitude with long wait.

I love sardelllas and you certainly can’t beat their specials. However if you have a gluten free pasta as I did they charge you a outrageous 5.00 extra! It’s not like I have a choice people, the waiter looked at me like I should change my mind. I happen to be GF DF and egg free. It makes eating out very hard sometimes. I know I am not alone. I can purchase a entire box of high quality gluten free pasta for less then this. Bottom line.... not a very happy customer, but will reluctently return as my family likes it here. Hopefully they read this and make some adjustments.

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. The food has changed very little and the atmosphere continues to be comfortable. We truly have not had one mediocre dish since we've been coming. That says something about the longevity of this Newport gem.

This is a charming restaurant. Beautiful outdoor patio and the interior is cozy. This used tb our favorite go to for pasta seafood style dishes. Its good, just not great. It seems the menu has less variety than in the past. Pizza choices abundant. Gluten free entree options seemed meager. Gluten free pasta on menu, no gf pizza. Prior visits, dietary needs cb accommodated on number of dishes and server would just confirm w kitchen. Last visit only 3 or 4 gf options. One of our guests ordered the lobster ravioli. Another a pizza. Both were good. My gf pasta w clams in a white wine sauce was disappointing. Clams were not tender and the dish lacked flavor. Caprese salad at start of meal good, not quite same quality as before.

I love, love, love their pizza! The ambience here is perfect for a lazy day or a get together with friends. But, don't forget to grab some pizza to take home; it is better heated up the next day!

I really liked this restaurant. They have a large outdoor seating area and an even larger indoor area. Typical Italian food with veal parm etc. prices are in the mid $20s. But they do have other items. The salmon was excellent. When I was there, they also had a rib veal chop for $34. Also excellent. My only complaint is that their meals only include a starch - mashed potatoes. If you want a vegetable (healthier), there is an up charge.

Great food and great service, as always. Sardella's dinner for two special (Mon-Wed) is the best value in Newport. Two entrees and a bottle of wine for 30 bucks, you can't beat that! Also, despite having no reservation and it being quite busy, we were seated within minutes on our last visit.

This Newport staple has an open air feel and the option for pizza or a full meal. The pizza is better than most of what Newport has to offer and the bar is lively with plenty of people to chat with. Mon-Wed there is a super cheap dinner special that offers many options. Definitely a place to check out!

Omg. Just wow. Authentic amazing Italian. The food is just wow. The atmosphere is just wow the service is great. Just wow. There is a patio area that is connected to the main dining area so if it rains your okay but has giant spaces where a window would be. So nice fresh air. Had those gaint metal heaters. A beautiful coach area for some tea with your ladies. A beautiful family dining room and a bar area. Just beautiful. Can go with your family and bring kids. Or just with you friends but can also just go with a nice date night. The food again is just amazing. They also have gluten free pasta if you can't have gluten. The place is just spectacular.

This is our favorite deli in the area because the meatball subs for $6.50 are large enough for two people and delicious. Also can get a large bag of flavored potatoe chips for $2. Can get busy during lunch (about a 10 min. wait in line), but it is interesting to watch the interaction between the staff and customers during the wait.
