Was my first time there. My wife and I Took our nephew there for his 5th birthday. they got us up in the trolley for dinner and they let us bring our own cake. Then came up brought him ice cream and sang happy birthday to him. They where super nice and friendly. Will be going back a lot more.

Okay, some good things about the place. Once our waitress arrived 10 minutes after we were seated the service was fast and accomodating and competent. Some sort of mix up though to begin with. They changed a few ingredients for one of our party (vegitarian, lactose intolerant) and also substituted olive oil on request. My wife had the vegetables on the zucchini zoodles with marinara sauce. She thought it was great. I had the meat lovers spaghetti, good until it came to the sausage. Skip the Cherry sangria (what that was doing there not sure but it tasted like Kool aid...I grew up on Long Island, plenty of Italian cooking there at friends' homes and many dinners in restaurants. NYC, Pisa, Rome, Venice. So this was not a "real" Italian restaurant just a nice big place full of happy families eating a spaghetti based menu and friends getting together for birthdays (we heard happy birthday to you four times) Decor is fun, lighting right, and decent separation of tables and some privacy. Afterwards if the weather is nice be sure to go outside behind the restaurant where you can stroll a little on the bluff above the Willamette River. Try it once and see if it works for you.

We ate at the one in Portland on Bancroft. The service was impeccable even though the place was swamped. Out waitress was friendly and very attentive to us, despite being swamped. Tables were being filled as soon as they were empty. I highly recommend getting reservations, no matter what. Food was served piping hot. Whoever was expediting in the kitchen did awesome. My wife had the Spaghetti with Mizirath cheese, and I had the Angel Hair Pomodoro. Both were excellent and prepared to perfection. I highly recommend The Old Spaghetti Factory to anyone.

So much fun! Had the Lasagna and a salad. Watched the Christmas ships go by. Great view! The food was good. Service was a little slow, but it was packed. Lots of large groups. Thd Lasagna was good. Enough that I took some home. It was served with fresh basked bread. So good. Light and flaky, just the way I like it. You have to pay attention when getting there, its easy to miss the turn.

The staff was amazing, there was no wait on a Saturday for dinner and they were really busy. Beautiful building, great view of the river. It was my first time at this Spaghetti Factory, though I have been to many others around the country. I tried a new dish and it came very cold and under cooked, twice! The third time it came perfect, delivered by the manager who apologized profusely, and paid for my dinner to make up for it. I highly recommend, their prices are reasonable, the sooner includes fresh baked bread, drinks and ice cream for dessert. Even with the mistake I was well taken care of and not disappointed.

Well we had reservations and wanted a table that looks over the river. They started to seat us in the restaurant but we saw empty tables by the window we spoke up they seated us at the window table. The service was very slow and i ordered a beer i was brought the wrong beer but i drank it anyway they got it right for the second one. Then when i would lean forward my shirt would stick to the chair ot was not clean. Our waiter dident smile once needs some more training. Also walking back to our table they have a purple lamp hanging in there its way to low had to walk around it not safe if you ask me. Not sure if ill be back there. The food was good though the rest of the experience not so much. Need to do a better job at keeping things clean.

I took a friend who had never been. He was impressed with the decor which is over the top gorgeous, with the Riverside setting, also gorgeous, and the food which is always a bargain and delicious! We sat in the bar because it is quieter ( he has hearing difficulties ) and the service was fantastic. The house Chianti is quite drinkable. Old Spaghetti Factory has been a family favorite since it began in the 70s when it was in Old Town Portland ♥️ great memories and great experience!

My mother and I had a horrible experience when we went here on Saturday. Our waitress ignored us for a 7 top party. We had to ask 3 other servers for items. My mother's food was cold and tasted terrible. We tried to flag the waitress down, and all she asked was if we needed a box. Not one bite off the plate!!! We will never be back.

Went here for the rehearsal dinner before my sister's wedding. Pasta was cooked Al dente but the pasta was like eating a salt lick! I didn't use table salt and didn't ask for extra parmesan or anything. It was so bad I actually went to the bathroom to vomit. The chicken was bland, albeit cooked perfectly. The wait staff understandably were busy, I think there were 30 of us? The area and decor were fantastic, the people were friendly, but I tried the food of some of my table mates and just couldn't eat it. Other dishes were bland or loaded with salt as well. The wedding was catered by this restaurant as well and one of the meals was just as bland. Seriously disappointed after hearing raving reviews. :(

It was ok. The shrimp of my dish was cooked perfectly but they didn't clean properly and I found the waste still in one of them. Couldn't eat any more after that. Also the past was undercooked. Had good flavor though. Also, the bread knives they give you, we tried multiple, are the worst bread knives ever. Bread was good, just impossible to cut. The building though is stunning!

My friends and I wanted a good meal after a long day around Mount Hood... we ended up here without knowing the place is part of a chain of restaurants. We were not disappointed. With really nice views of the river, good service and lovely decoration we felt it was a great choice! Prices were reasonable and most of the items in the menu come in a 3 course meal. The food quality was good, perhaps not the best pasta in the world but it was very good for the price and in large portions. Did not feel like a franchise restaurant.

I know this is a chain but this specific one has been on Portland's waterfront for years. The large wood paneling and staircase are striking. Tiffany lamps everywhere and river views make this venue particularly special. We had quick attentive service. I came for weekday lunch and was seated immediately. I ordered managers favorite which is a two sauce plate of your choosing. I had meat marinara and mizithra cheese and brown butter. It was average and too much to eat. Lunch orders come with soup or salad and end with spumoni. I would come here for the view and the atmosphere. And the spumoni.

Dinners good. No lactose free desserts so you're paying for dessert but can't eat them. Caeser dressing is pretty sad on their salads.

Food is good and well priced. Love that they still give ice cream after the meal. However, tea and coffee is longer free with the meal (it use to be the case a very long time ago). Service was slow and the waitress was very forgetful throughout the night, hence a 4 instead of 5 stars.

We have ate here a few times. Great food. My biggest concern is. All employed personal, servers are all white! Now, husband and I are German. Lately, since the media has been airing that races is alive and still Exist. Didn't believe. But, we live here in HV. But, most of restaurants in neighborhood shows, media is correct. We will not support this. Love this place. Not enough to support a place that is not equal opportunity.

This is a great place to eat, they are accommodating to a large group as well. You might have to wait a little to be seated but it is well worth it. The noodles are wonderful and the salad is very good. You can even eat inside a old train car. It is a great experience all around.

Now that Tacoma and Seattle's OSF's are gone/moved, this is the only one I go to. It's a great restaurant with the same great Italian menu, consistently good food, and friendly service, at fair prices. I'm glad they haven't done away with this one!

Interesting and clever decor. Ask to be seated in the viewing room. Restaurant sits right on the Willamette River. Coffee arrived luke warm. Entree appeared 2 minutes after we were served our soup. They offered to take our dinner back to stay under the warming lamps, but hey who wants that? So I couldn't enjoy my soup. The knife they bring you to cut your bread is a cross between a butter knife and a steak knife. Extremely difficult to use on fresh bread. Best to just tear in apart like the Italians do. The waitress tried her best, brought us fresh coffee an extra loaf of bread to take home and a soup container

Always love this place and so do the kids. Great food at very reasonable prices. The service is always really good. This last time we were there, yesterday my kids wanted to sit in the caboose but this area was not covered by servers at that time. They allowed us to sit there any ways and went out of their way to ensure we were checked on when needed and had everything we could all for. Because it is popular you usually have a small wait to get a table but they move it along quickly so even if the waiting area looks full they will move through the crowd within 10-15 minutes. That always amazes me as they never rush you to finish eating and there is already complementary soup/salad, bread and ice cream with every meal.

Over the years the quality of the venue has improved and the food decreased. I would love for them to put a little more financial effort into making real Italian cuisine. Right now it's basically Olive Garden with a fancier front.

However the recipe for the White Clam Sauce has changed and it isn't quite as good as it used to be. Also the girl that served us was so exstremely slow I wanted to walk out. She was so slow my coffee was cold by the time she decided to serve it to me all 3 times.

I have had good experiences at other Old Spaghetti Factory location but this is always my favorite. I love the trolley car and river view, so many fun antiques to look at! The best thing for me though, is their gluten free fettuccine alfredo. Its hard to find restaurants with gf pasta that has great taste and texture and its even harder to find a restaurant that offer gf alfredo sauce, so getting this dish is a real treat! Now if they would only make gf lasagna...

The food was delicious. It was terrific that they had a side dish of steamed broccoli, served family style. (A rare treat!) The employees wore smiles, were accommodating, and the service was fast. All of the eclectic pieces, from bed frames made into booths - to an actual trolley car set to dine in, make a fun, visual landscape within the restaurant. However, that isn't the only great landscape, the restaurant sits next to the river and has many windows. No matter which side of the table you're on, you'll have a great view.

Our large party of 18 was comfortably seated upstairs with a gorgeous view of the river. Service was excellent and the food nicely presented. My BLT salad with lightly breaded chicken was fresh and flavorful. It came with lightly dressed crisp greens and plenty of blue cheese chunks and bacon pieces. More chicken than I could eat. Meals include bread, soup, salad, and a little dish of ice cream. Great parking. Even access to a lovely paved trail along the river to walk off your meal.

I love the food here. Great sauces. I got the combo, half spinach tortellini and half cheese ravioli and they were both very yummy. Been going here for years and always a good time. Only downside is its not a good place floor smaller children. They take a lung time (30 minutes) to get your food to you on a Thursday night. Though you will have bread and soup/ salad in between. The minestrone soup was the best I've had.

I almost gave this place a 1-star because for the past 30 years their customer service has needed improvement. It doesn't matter if I go to their Portland or San Jose restaurant. Recently, we waited 30 minutes before getting a server, and that was only after I had informed them that we did not have one. To their credit they didn't charge us for one of our appetizers to make up for it. It wasn't enough in my opinion, but at least they tried. I keep returning only because of their mzithra, but I always brace myself for their customer service. We enjoy their food and ambience, so we'll probably keep giving them more chances. Sigh.

The best spaghetti factory around. This is their national headquarters, so expect to get the best service available. The bread is always fresh, and comes out piping hot from the oven. You can get as much as you can eat. There’s a side salad or soup included with dinner as well. For a $1 you can add a drink. If you get one of their main pasta dishes, you can make it a hearty portion for just a few dollars more. I always get their homage thousand and creamy pesto dressing to dip it in. They have an upper level bar, where you can grab a drink while you wait. Happy hour is good too, in the bar.

So far we have received sub par service in the hour we have been here. We have started getting our food and our drinks haven’t even come yet. Very sad and poor service isn’t something to be proud of. But they seem to be happy with how bad their service is so far. Will update as food or drinks get delivered if they ever do. Update. We finally got our drinks and about five minutes later we got our food. Well almost. The forgot a drink and left some aluminum foil in the olive tapenade. So be careful if you order the olive tapenade as it might have left over foil in the blended olives. Honestly I think everything we experienced could have been avoided with a simple change. A Portland institution, but I do not see what the hype is all about. I swear their food is just Stouffer's frozen pasta. It tastes exactly the same to me. And again it's yet another place that desperately needs to install acoustic absorbing tiles because once you get more than ten people in there it becomes a shout fest, and it's pretty much always packed. On a positive note, they are located in a pretty awesome spot right on the river with a big, glass walled nook that offers a beautiful view. On the other hand, both times I ate their they got my order wrong.

Went there for a going away Dinner. Service was great, food was just how I remembered it as a kid. Called in a reservation of 13 people no problems. I'd come back. It was a fun time. Drinks were good too! Nice view and saw a double rainbow.

I had been to the Vancouver location but was told by a friend the Portland original headquarters was top notch. They were right! Food is delicious, decorations are incredibly ornate, service is wonderful, even the price isn't terrible! Not to mention the manicured parking lot in the midst of Portland. All around a wonderful experience and I will surely come back again I also highly recommend getting the blackberry Italian soda! You get to keep the glass and it's delicious.

The Old Spaghetti Factory is a great value and fun atmosphere. This location especially is amazing. It is right on the river with a great path to walk along the river. The also have great windows to be able to watch the river while you eat. The staff are very friendly and service is excellent. The food is great for the price, its hard to beat having a 3 course meal. Great place for families and a a great location to bring friends if they are from out of town. Highly recommend.

I've been coming to this restaurant my whole life. I love the food. The people are great! You dont even know it's a chain because they never have that attitude. The restaurant staff dont change very often so doesn't seem like a revolving door... usually a good sign its managed well and people are happy to be there for the most part. I'd love to hear from the employees. I've been coming here for 36 years and I've always been curious about the company. Overall, I take pride eating here since it started in Portland. They are consistently great and reasonably priced. Coming to the downtown location is always a pain because of traffic, but having a meal here is worth it.

Located on the river, this is a great place for pasta. It is fairly inexpensive too. You can get a complete meal including dessert for around $15. Love it!

To-Go orders are delayed/late 9/10 times. Plan on spending some time waiting around to pick up your to go order. They will often (1/2 of the time) forget the bread, ice cream, butter, and/or utensils, so always check when you are checking out. Food is good, but they have a lot to improve on the customer service end.

The food was bland and uninteresting and we were seated next to a table containing 12 screaming kids celebrating a birthday. Worst dining experience I've had in many years. It did have some beautiful beveled glass doors though.

Food is still good, but seriously need to drop pricing significantly. This is a family restaurant, not white table cloth, you are pricing us out of cooking here any more. For your current pricing I can get much better food and experience in many Italian restaurants.

Did not get the best service. Our waitress said sorry each and every time she came to the table. A lot of sitting around waiting for her to return to get orders, more drinks then took our card and disappeared again. I'm usually leaving happy and stuffed, tonight was far different.
