We were incredibly disappointed with our experience with Sheild, especially given the positive reviews online. Early on, there were warning signs with poor communication and minimal follow-up - however they were undergoing a change in their manager and we decided to stick with them - WE ABSOLUTELY REGRETTED IT. Three days before our wedding, they still had not come to the farm to survey the site - something they had said they would do several weeks before - and as the bride, I was having to contact them and follow up. On the day of the wedding, my mother-in-law was having to deal with their mistakes right up until the ceremony started. Amongst the several errors they made, one of them included not bringing the coffee pre-made as was previously discussed - which consequently resulted in the catering staff blowing the power for our ceremony and disrupting ceremony music. Instead of providing an enjoyable, delicious experience - they added stress and frustration to our big day. The diverse, artisan bread from a local bakery we had paid for and requested was not brought - instead cheap, boring rolls were served. My father in law had to request the staff restock the buffet trays when they were low. Coffee cups were not brought. The rice was undercooked. They didn't even offer busing services. The list goes on. And afterward - no refund was offered for the mistakes made - hardly an apology when we called - several times - to follow up and discuss the mistakes made. The lack of professionalism was shocking to me, especially as someone who worked in catering for five years. I would NEVER go with this company again and strongly advise against it for your big day.
