I wanted to try a local diner since this was my first visit to Columbus and this place was rated very high. The reviewers recommended the French roasts and omelets, so I tried both. And they were both excellent. The staff was very kind and courtesy and I was very relaxed as I enjoyed my meal. Very high marks are indeed valid!!

This is a special place for great food, made fresh each day, the Reuben is fantastic, thick with the meats & cheese & sauerkraut, then placed on grilled rye bread. Their tomatoe basil soup is delicious. The owners are so sweet & make you feel like family that they are happy you came. They make sure to come over & talk to each & every customer. That's very rare these days, but so refreshing!! This was only our 2nd trip, but we will be back several times a week, to try all of their other items! Yum

We went to breakfast here and I have to say they definitely deserve to be a 5 star place! The food was absolutely delicious, I had the big breakfast and the portion was very generous, I couldn't even finish the chocolate chip pancakes that came with it and trust me, I wanted to! The waitress went completely above and beyond, coffee was always full, she was extremely friendly and insisted we try the french toast on the house! (Which was amazing by the way!) This place definitely has an emphasis on great food and fantastic service! We definitely plan to come back!

Been here probably 15 times with my work friends. I speak for all of them when I say that this is easily the best cafe and small restarting in the city. The food is phenomenal and consistent. The staff is by far the best customer service/ friendly staff I’ve ever encountered. The daily $5 special is also an incredibly deal. Hard to go into detail about all the things that make this place great because there are so many. Wonderful value and customer service. Would and do recommend Scotty’s to everyone in the city.

I decided to come here for the first time for my birthday breakfast, and I was NOT let down. The staff was friendly, fast, and multiple people checked up on us to make sure we had refills. My server was Yvette and when she found out it was my birthday she brought out cookies and had another staff member sing Happy Birthday. The food was made perfect to order and I have to recommend the french toast! I will definitely return and recommend to a friend.

I wish I could give them 6 stars! My boyfriend and I stopped here our way home from a road trip! Everyone worked together to make sure our coffee & tea were always full. Kind and attentive staff, delicious breakfast, and a laid-back atmosphere. We even got free cookies (a wonderful surprise for us, since we love sweets!) We had perfectly sized portions, and left feeling content, not overstuffed. We shared the two-egg breakfast meal and an order of french toast. Coffee/tea was included in the price of the meal!

I'm new to the neighborhood and love breakfast food so I came to Scotty's and I'm so glad I did. I genuinely have never been around friendlier staff. Scotty literally walked around and talked to every table, cracked jokes, and introduced himself to everyone. The waitresses were so kind and the food was incredible! No shame to admit that I literally shed a tear when I walked out because of how great the atmosphere was. I'll be back and will tell all my family and friends to join me!

Upon review of breakfast/brunch spots to visit on my polar vortex day off work, Scotty's was the first that popped up in the area with 5 stars, so if other yelpers give it 5 thumbs up, it had to be worth a try. The service was wonderful. We had a lady (she may have been an owner but I'm not sure) come and thank us for coming out today in the extreme cold. She was going around and talking to other customers as well and I really appreciated that. Made me feel like they really value their customers. Based on those wonderful yelp reviews, I decided to get the schmoozer, 3 potato latkes topped with hot corn beef (I also added an over medium egg on top per a reviewers suggestion). It was also served with sour cream (but I don't like sour cream so I didn't use it). The latkes needed a sauce of some kind so I used a little ketchup, but eating the corned beef with it was great pairing (the egg was good as well!). The portions are huge so you will certainly not leave hungry. And with such a friendly atmosphere I will certainly be back again!

The BEST Tomato Basil soup waits for you at Scotty's. It's exactly what you wanted the best to be. Scotty walks around the restaurant with his wife, Gina. They both care about the community around them and they'll talk story and even remember you from years ago. It's not uncommon for Scotty to lead the restaurant in a birthday song or for Gina to offer some fresh desserts even if you just finished one. Come and fill your belly because life is a little better at Scotty's Café.

LOVED this place! We're from NC and saw all the nice reviews from this place and decided to check it out. So glad we did! The staff was so unbelievably friendly, and the French toast was amazing! They even put the coffee (which was wonderful) in little glasses, not mugs which we're used to. It felt like we were part of the family coming in for breakfast. When we left, one of the owners gave us cookies and free bottles of water for our journey home (about 6 1/2 hours)! You don't get that hospitality anymore! Super recommend this place! 5 stars all day!

Not only is the food delicious, but what a comfortable, pleasant down-home atmosphere to enjoy brunch. The owners circulated the dining area during my entire visit...refilling beverages, greeting & visiting with every single customer that walks in the door. From the outside this place doesn't look all that appealing because its located in a tiny strip mall, but don't let that fool you, its worth stopping in. The food was on par for a breakfast place but the french toast was really good! The best part about Scotty's was Scotty himself. He is very energetic and genuine and made every customer feel like they were the best customer there! Only reason it got a four star rating is because I thought the food was just pretty average, except the french toast. I would definitely go back and I definitely recommend!

Absolutely the BEST restaurant I have ever been, hands down!!! I have Celiac Disease and they not only knew about it but asked me 1st if it was dietary or Celiac. The food was to die for and they even have gluten free bread they made into french toast. I would rate this place a TEN if I could. The service was worthy of the best rating out there, where else does the Chef come out and joke with the kids. Seriously I could write a book of how awesome this place is.

Went for the first time monday, will definitely be back. The nicest people on the planet work here, our server took great care of us. Scotty and his wife Gina walked around greeting guests and joking with children. I got the burger and it was delicious. Great food and great people.

What a great find! This little neighborhood restaurant serves breakfast and lunch in a clean, very friendly diner setting. The food was delicious and freshly made. Portions were generous. We went here for our son’s third birthday for pancakes and it was fantastic. Everyone could not have been nicer; they were good to us but they interacted with him and were so good. The food was phenomenal as well. They even had the whole restaurant sing happy birthday and brought him out a cupcake. This place is uphill right from the moment you arrive, only leaving you upset as you hit the parking lot when you leave. The humble exterior hides a beyond caring staff that is eager to share what seems to be their own favorite restaurant with their new friend, you. I had the roast beef melt, and my girlfriend had the BLT sandwich on a bagel. Both of these were extremely enjoyable, and the quality of the ingredients was a true testament to the high quality of the deli that forms the back of the restaurant. As we were eating, we were brought some house made peanut butter and jelly cookies. This small gesture was very well received, especially once we tried them. As we were finishing up, we got a visit from the owner. This nice lady seemed very interested in what we thought, and was so surprised when we told her we had never been there. And upon realizing that we hadn't tried their french toast, she immediately had a side of french toast ordered. We had already paid, but she was undeterred, as it was more important that she share this marvel of culinary perfection with her new guests. There are no words for how exceptional their french toast was, but I do believe "Perfect" is one of them. I have worked in restaurants since I turned 18, and this has to be THE best breakfast/brunch establishment I have ever visited. Scotty's has the winning mix of great food, awe inspiring staff, and a genuine atmosphere of calm and casual. I have never had an experience at a breakfast place that could even compare, and I do not think I will find one. Please continue spreading this amazing experience, bring a friend and have them bring one too. Nobody will be disappointed.

This was the first place me and my boyfriend went to after moving into Bexley, and what a great decision that was. The atmosphere was great and we felt like we were surrounded by family. It was so great we went back the next morning . The first day we had eggs, bacon, sausage, and French toast (all delicious) and the second day we had a Reuben and a corned beef sandwich (both seriously amazing) with a sausage and vegetable soup (tasted like it had been stewed for hours and had so much depth of flavor). We will for sure be back many times to come.

Was pleasantly surprised at how kind and courteous the staff were. The owner even went out of his way to introduce himself and checked on us regularly. The food was excellent as were the portions. I would highly recommend Scottys Cafe and look forward to returning there soon.

If you come for breakfast get the French toast and a side of homemade sausage. Word of warning, though you only get 2 or 4 slices they are 2-2.5x as thick as the bread you buy in the store. The staff is super friendly and most likely you will see the owner, yes his name is Scott, helping out with seating, orders, and cleanup.

If you crave good food in a happy cafe atmosphere Scotty's is the place to go! My friend and I had omelets; mine Greek, his Mexican. Each was perfectly made and were yummy and satisfying! The great service staff was quick and friendly. EVERYONE should go there; but save me a seat!

We stayed in Columbus last night and this morning I googled breakfast near me. This was one of the first places on the list with 4.9 stars. Unheard of! Google also said the place was similar to Lincoln’s Waffle Shop which is one of my favorite places in DC. It did not disappoint. The coffee was delightful. I ordered a veggie omelette and my husband got the French toast. My omelette was good. We both agreed the French toast was the best we’d ever had. The service was wonderful. Staff was friendly and attentive. We even got free cookies for the ride home. Will definitely be back.

This place was AMAZING!!!! The owner Scotty was a hoot! He went to every table and welcomed everyone with his big personality. Our waitress Kathy accommodated our every need. All the food is fresh and made in house. Please visit this place, it's one of the best spots in Columbus! And I don’t normally write reviews! Love from the Nashville crew!
