Food sat under a heat lamp. My onion rings were rubbery and my fish sandwich was cold. The coleslaw was warm. I get it you're busy with holiday orders and catering. But 0 effort for the in house customers. It wasn't the worst, but definitely disappointed.

We frequent here often, especially when I have a craving for some sweet chili wings!! It was my son's 17th bday celebration meal on Sat..& he chose Hoggys! Great service (Sam) great food!! Even had some complimentary chips & dip brought out to try. Never had bad food! Always one of our go-to places for our family!! Only downside this trip, where were the fireballs & lemon drops??? Did I miss them? Great after a meal...hope u just ran out. (In response back to owner...by fireballs & lemon drops, I mean the hard candy kept at the counter!! NOT a drink!)

Not sure what happened to Johnny’s Bs? Hoggys used to operate a small window out of here and now it has basically turned into a hoggys. Thankfully a few Johnny B dishes remain. But the pasta dishes I really liked are gone. I don’t really care about hoggys, last time I had hoggys, before they closed their restaurants, everyone I was with got food poisoning.

Just left a little dissatisfied. I ordered one bulk pound of brisket to go with a couple other items. The sign states that buns are included. When I questioned this, after being handed my order, the employee informed me that it did not include buns. He said the signs are new and he wasn't sure why it was on there. His response was "um, I will have to ask the manager about that". But, no effort was made to do that while I was there. Needless to say, I left without them.

Bbq is cooked elsewhere without smoke is my guess, severed me pulled fat and skin no meat for pulled pork. The smoked turkey reminded me of the cheap deli turkey. The green beans were great, the “honey butter” was margarin with corn syrup, broccoli salad Was ok. Sweet tea was a northerners idea of sweet tea they need to double the sugar. All in all avoid.

Went for the first time recently with my boyfriend for some good BBQ ribs! My boyfriend hadn't been to a Hoggy's in about 10 years and I had never even heard of it until moving to Columbus. As soon as we walked in I noticed how clean and kept the space was. This location has a lot of knick-knacks lying around which can collect dust very quickly but everything was extremely clean! The staff was super friendly and knowledgable. We ended up getting three entrees so we could try an ample amount of food and as we were nearing the end of our meal the same cashier came by to ask how we liked everything and brought boxes! The food was very good! We tried the pulled chicken, pork and half rack of ribs with a variety of sides! I saved half the pulled chicken to eat the next day because that is how much I loved it! Great BBQ, staff and facility!

Weird setup. Remnants of the old Johnny B's restaurant still remain, such as the vertical sign outside. Inside is kinda weird and slapdash with the mix of old-school Johnny B. diner and country kitsch mixed in no particular order. Very visually cluttered and kinda messy but not dirty. My wife and I were expecting a more sit-down and have a server wait on you experience. Instead it was a counter order style. However, the menu is difficult to parse, its on what appears to be 10 different blackboards. We ended up ordering the Hoggy's Grazer to share since we were a bit confused when trying to read everything presented. We can't remember if there were suggestions offered by the staff behind the counter. Food was OK. Nothing special for BBQ. Nothing outstanding or unique about the sauces or preparation. I've had the same anywhere else that cooks up pig. The sandwiches were filling but forgettable. Pulled pork was meh, brisket was _slightly_ smokey. Mac & Cheese was the only saving grace. Good flavor and a bit saucy. Not so keen with the inclusion of the kidney variety in my baked beans. Ribs were tender and juicy, just lacking in any real strong smoky flavor. This restaurant would not have helped if I were suffering from depression. A melancholy mood surrounds everything. Maybe it was a lack of people and good vibes? We were the only diners at 5pm on a Wednesday. That's usually a good indicator that something is not right. We should have listened to our instincts and gone somewhere else. Forgettable. Recommended for the sadness.

In town visiting for my husband's graduation and was looking for some good bbq. We searched online and came across this place and was not disappointed. The ribs were really good. The sweet bbq sauce on my half rack of ribs was quite tasty. The ribs were smoked and fell off the bone. The mac n cheese was really good to me for a bbq joint. The baked beans were some of the best I ever tasted. The wings were perfectly cooked with the right crisp. Only reason I did not give 5 is because we being visitors had to figure out the lay of the land as far as seating and service instead of the workers walking by acknowledging us. That was forgivable but good fyi for management to be more attentive to. In town for one more day and may stop by for another visit.

I thought this was going to be a restaurant like it used to be with table service, but you order food at the counter and they bring it to your table (you get your drinks and sauces.) Unlike most places with this setup, they clean up--you don't have to. I'm fine with these changes. It's well worth a couple bucks tip for the $$ you save on the meal. The food tastes great and is seasoned really well. Some really great flavors. My favorites were the turkey and the green beans. Will definitely return!

More than you'll ever eat in one sitting. I ordered 1/4 chicken all white meat, mashed potatoes (they are real) with gravy and a side salad. I didn't even touch the salad I took it home and we had it with dinner. This place is delicious and portions are enough to split. Hubby had pull pork sandwich with beans and coleslaw. He finished every bit!!

I hesitate to leave a 2 star review because o don't want hoggys to disappear forever, but I feel like you need the feedback in order to improve. I've been a pork star since as long as I can remember. I used to go to the store in linworth weekly. Went to the one on 5th when I was at osu. Used to get catering from the location on Bethel. Enjoyed the fireplace at the Polaris location. Went to gahanna when it was the only one left! Went to the current location on Bethel last weekend and maybe it was a bad weekend as there are a few negative reviews of late, but here are my callouts: 1. Saw a lot of staff sitting on stools watching football when they weren't taking soft drinks out of the cooler. 2. Flies. A lot. 3. Catering seemed more important than servicing customers in restaurant. 4. Super fatty brisket. Hopefully just a bad cut, not quality issue. 5. Cobwebs everywhere above booths on the south side of the building. Filthy tables, booths, windowsills. See item 1, feels like a time to lean time to clean situation. 6. Why are there rags stuffed into the tracks on the door that slides behind the fountain drink machine? 7. No original sauce available, 1 large empty bottle at the sauce station, see item 1. 8. Smaller sides than the crocks you used to serve in...and I watched my mac and cheese come out of the microwave...really? 9. There was a customer eating chipotle while a few other people with her were eating hoggys, what happened to no outside food in restaurants? 10. Why does your pos system ask me to tip someone at the counter? Its awkward when you don't and I'm not entirely sure why you would...to quote the movie, you don't tip the guy at McDonald's. 11. Fountain drink flavor was off, told the associate working the front register and he made a show of taste testing them and then walked away. I hope you can accept and correct the issues above, as I want to keep being your customer.

I passed that restaurant going and coming from work twice a day I decided to stop in and was pleasantly surprised and the ribs are so tender you can pull the meat right off the bone. I suggest the next time you on Bethel Road stop by you won't be disappointed.

I ordered enough food for 20 people on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to be picked up on Black Friday at 11:30 for a retail business employee lunch. Upon arriving no one knew anything about the order, weren't helpful, and I left empty handed and frustrated. Terrible Customer Service even from the manager! I called City Barbeque and they had an order for 20 ready in 45 minutes, this wasn't even possible at Hoggy's

Haven't had Hoggy's in years other than catering a few times which I always enjoyed but man the restaurant is the BOMB! I'm picky when it comes to BBQ/smokehouses and Hoggy's is hand down one of my new favorites in Columbus. Great food, great staff, and great atmosphere. The mac and cheese is to die for and it's my wife's favorite. They have some of the best brisket I've had in a while too. Very moist and melts in your mouth. My wife really likes their chicken an that's saying a lot cause it's really difficult to convince her to go to a smokehouse, let alone get a smoked meat there. I could go on and on but I've rambled enough. If you haven't been then you need to go. If you like smokehouses then you really need to go. If your only BBQ experience involves City in it's name than you definitely need to go cause you need to find out what real BBQ is.

Extremely dissatisfying trip. I used to love Hoggy's when they had a half dozen restaurants around town, they even catered my wedding. Today however was most unpleasant. We waited half an hour on our order, not a big deal if the food is worth it. My fountain coke was stale, again not a big deal, but it was something I paid for, and I watched another patron complain about it and nothing was done. Then our food arrived and both meats were cold, my brisket was barely room temperature, and the pork was fridge cold. Hopefully this is a one off.

Always went to the store in Gahanna. Unfortunately it's not there this time around. I saw the dispatch article from January of 2012, and I guess in January of 2013 the Gahanna location finally closed it's doors. Really stinks too cause I was all ready to get me some great bbq at a great location, pulled up to it and it said everything was being auctioned off. I was really looking forward to many visits there during the summer to sit on the patio and enjoy nature while I ate my wonderful BBQ. So sorry to see such a wonderful place go away.

Went in there yesterday evening with my girlfriend and her daughter and boy have I been missing out. I used to go to the Hoggys in New Albany when I was a child and haven't been since. I remember fantasizing about the Mac and cheese over the years. Never knew that this location existed. So we went in there yesterday and it was just how I remembered. Delicious!! I ordered Catering from here for our Team Members Holiday Meal at Target Food Distribution in West Jefferson, Oh on December 17th and the 20th. We had 4 deliveries in total, one for first shift at 12:00pm both days and the other for second shift at 5:00pm for both days. I would rate the food quality a 5/5, the service a 5/5 and the delivery a 5/5. I ordered a traditional style meal that included turkey, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry, rolls with butter and stuffing/dressing. Our team members have all been complimenting the food, some even stating it was our best food event yet! Everything arrived promptly, warm and ready to serve. We were supplied with everything needed (plates, silverware, napkins, individual salt/pepper packets, wet naps) and are so grateful that this meal went so well! The portions were very generous and we had an abundance of left overs! (Which everyone loves because they can eat more!) All of our executives have been raving about it and have been eating leftovers since they got here at 8 AM!! The food was just delicious! I have loved Hoggy’s since its very first store at Linworth and 161 in the late 1980s, I think. I bought a house by Polaris and went to that location for more than a decade. I entertained several friends from out of town over the years, usually recommending the Hogstack sandwich, my favorite, and I never got a complaint—everyone always loved the food! Fast forward several years and all the Hoggy’s are gone, and I was sad. I thought about getting catering just to get my fix, but never did. Then I was really happy they decided to share the Johnny B’s location with Hoggy’s restaurant again. Last Friday I had a friend come up from Vienna WV with his wife and two young daughters. Surprisingly, there were a few really good BBQ places in the area when I lived down there a few years ago. One called Bar-B-Cutie has since closed but was a favorite of mine and his. When I asked them where they wanted to go to dinner, he asked about barbecue. I originally thought City BBQ, but then said they needed to try my favorite, Hoggy’s. We went there and they LOVED it. He said he thought it was better than Bar-B-Cutie! He said when he asked his daughter the next day (after her soccer tournament—which is why they came up to Columbus) where she wanted to go to lunch, she said “well, we could go back to the place we had dinner last night!” They especially loved the wings, the brisket, the mac and cheese, the corn muffins, and his picky youngest daughter who never eats anything loved her grilled cheese sandwich. (I of course got wings, Hogstack, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy, and ended up taking half home with me, which will be my dinner tonight!) Thank you Hoggy’s for impressing my friends from out of town. Now you just need to get your beer license so I can have a brew with my BBQ! 

Prob worse service I ever had. had 3 people in line for 5 min before anyone came out to greet anyone. Then took 25 min to get a togo appetizer order. Seemed like only 2 people working and the rest were hiding in back. They would pop out and look around and walk back while people waited. Horrible! The smoked meats were tasteless and didn't taste smoked at all. The sauces were unappealing with way too much vinegar. The coleslaw was bland. Prices were high. A simple lunch for 2 was over $25. Service was good and friendly. We should have known better when we got there at noon on a Friday and the place was practically empty.

Recently, we used Hoggy's for our wedding. The food sample was delicious and large, but Kathy wrote down the wrong day and did not show up for the tasting so we didn't get a good idea of what to expect . At our event, the food showed up on time. However, they forgot the vegetarian jackfruit pulled "pork" and only supplied a half filled pan of chicken and pork for a wedding of 70 people. There were 2 trays of mac and cheese so one would think there would be 2 each of every tray. I found it overpriced for the amount of food served as I grew up in food service. I guess if you want something done right, you need to do it yourself.

Hoggy's catered our wedding, they did such an amazing job, the food was absolutely amazing. They had everything we needed, Kathy was super helpful with me and gave me some ideas that would be more beneficial for us, I cant thank you all enough for making our wedding that less stressful :)

Why is this place so amazing??? The mac and cheese - awesome the green beans - great (their veggies and they were great) pulled pork - the flavour - wow! pulled chicken - that bbq sauce, wowza ...I think that is all I ate there but it is absolutely amazing and I dont love bbq typically (the man makes me go ;))

Hoggy's is BBQ done right. In my opinion, they crush City BBQ. The meats are always moist and tender. Their sauce is sweet and tangy. They spread the love around, by pairing the meats with other items. BBQ Nachos, potato skins and a plethora of other combinations. They also make their own potato chips and dip sauce...which is awesome. It's a simple blend of roasted garlic and onions with a few spices, but wow, the combination won me over, and I hate roasted garlic. Stop in here for a quick bite or a full meal, you won't be disappointed.

Food was amazing. Portions were good for price. Brisket a MUST! Cheesy potatoes needed a little more seasoning, but were still wonderful. Green Beans are best in town! Dine in atmosphere not as inviting, but I understand they do mostly catering and carry out. They could easily have the dining room packed if they boost up the dining space and had 2 or 3 waitresses. I paid a little over $20 for 2 meals and would have easily paid more for a little dining experience. Overall- 5 stars, love it!

Very disappointing BBQ here. I love bbq, even mediocre BBQ, but I could barely swallow this. Ribs were very dry, pork was slimy, chicken was dry, brisket was fatty and yet still dry, and sauces were all gross (tried 5). And after waiting 20+ for our food (no big deal it was lunch time), our meats were cold. Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were good (hense the 2 stars), but I didn't come for decent sides. The wings were very bland, and I wish our cashier had told us that the sauce was mustard based (I would have chosen something else) and I could tell the first bite. I won't waste my time or money here again. If you're a BBQ fanatic like me, don't bother.

Wow...I didn't know you could mess up BBQ. I took two bites and threw the everything away. The meat was dry and had a funny smell to it. The BBQ beans were so sweet I almost gagged. The pulled pork sauce was disgusting and completely made the meat soggy and slimy. Never tried before and will not go back. Try smoky bones or city bbq. Way better.

This used to be a five star rated restaurant. Both today and the last time I ordered carryout it was wrong. They have the most amazing sweet bourbon sauce for wings but this is two times in a row my husband has brought them home and they have just been BBQ. They have the worst BBQ I've ever tasted. I'm done ordering carry-out from here this is way too expensive to continue to throw in the trash can.
