The food is incredible and they have really good prices. We had a Cubano and a turkey with brie and apple sandwich. Both were amazing. Had an OMG bar and made an audible sigh. Proceeded to eat the bag before I got my sandwich No Ragrets!

This was my second time eating here. The entrees and deserts are good. I just wish the employees were a little more welcoming and personal. They have minimum to say about the food or services. The atmosphere was warm but not inviting again.

Crystal is Great! They just catered my wedding and everything was DELICIOUS! I got my linens and dishes and cutlery from them as well. The serving staff was amazing. Everything went perfectly. I would 10 out of 10 recommend for your next event.

We used Southern Gourmet for our rehearsal dinner , wedding and post wedding brunch. Crystal and her staff assisted us in planning an amazing menu for all. Family and friends traveled far and our goal was for fantastic food . Southern Gourmet exceeded our expectations !!! Many compliments from our guests on the food !!! Staff was also amazing !!! Went here to to tastings for them to be our potential wedding caterers. First things first.... the FOOD itself was amazing. I mean hands down crazy good!!!So if all you care about is the FOOD then they are a superb company to go with. Now, on a different side I had to give them 3 out of 5 because of a couple different thing. We were charged, per person, for the tasting. Whether we had gone with them or not we would have been charged for tasting. $10 a person. What we ate was not even a full plates worth that would cost $10. It wasn't a fair price in our opinion. I wish I had taken pictures to put here. Secondly, the lady was really nice to me (the bride) but was disrespectful to my mother. She belittled my mother, telling her she was wrong and basically saying she knew nothing about food just because my mom wanted some chicken with no sauce on it!! My parents were going to be paying for it, and I'm sorry but you don't treat elder people that way even if they are wrong. At least use tasteful tact. That for me ruined it all. So food is great. Catering lady can be very much less than professional.

We just came from lunch at Southern Gourmet. We really liked the food and will most likely go back. We had never been there before so didnt know if we were to sit down or order from the counter. So some confusion on our part. Maybe a welcoming greeting would help people know what to do. All in all a good place to eat.

Southern Gourmet isn't bad. But it's not exactly special. I've had their catering off-site, catered lunch on-site, and eaten take out and dine in from the cafe. I think it's worth going to and a good option for the area given most of the competition, but it's not better than New Zealand Cafe. Not by a long shot. Or the fish market. Or Ming Fu. Those places all deserve higher ratings than Southern Gourmet.

I just love Southern Gourmet, I've been a long time customer at their Restaurant, and I just had them cater my Wedding. Everything was fantastic, from the planning meeting thru the final cleanup. They handled everything perfectly. The food was fantastic, and all of our guests couldn't stop raving about their Wedding Cake, I can very honestly say it is the best tasting wedding cake that I have ever had. And it was also beautifully to look at. P.S. If you get Mac and cheese for the kids, make sure you get some for the adults, as they we be begging the servers for some, it really is that good!

We recently used them to cater a corporate event for us at the South Charlotte Banquet Center. They are a pleasure to work with and everyone at the office is still raving about the food. They were very patient and helpful when going over the menu. The day of the event they were all set and ready to go on time, the food was hot and they were very helpful at the event. All of the food was delicious from the appetizers to the deserts. I highly recommend The Southern Gourmet!

We were recommended by a friend who employed them for their wedding - so we also hired them for ours. It was mostly a mistake soon after the beginning and I wouldn't recommend this caterer for future events. We first met with the owner about 7 months prior to our wedding, we sat down and reviewed the high-level information (time, date, general pricing, number of guests). A few weeks after we went back in to meet with her again to sort out the details and she seemed to have amnesia about our prior meeting and none of the notes she took the first time around were correct - the date, the number of guests, etc. were all wrong and she couldn't recall who we were. The pricing was purposely laid out in a manner that you're unable to tell what you're paying for, random numbers with no explanation are added into the total, fees and surcharges that aren't clearly laid out, different taxes for different services, etc. The entire process after paying the deposit was excruciating, requiring numerous visits to their shop/cafe during business hours (because they're only open for a whopping 4 hours during middle of the day 11am-3pm). They couldn't work via email or phone, everything had to be in-person and they weren't able to sort out all the details in one (or even a handful) of times, resulting in us having to go there over and over to taste test, meet with the owner, discuss the details, etc. I think we had to schedule roughly 4 or 5 visits for one event, whereas it should have and could have easily been condensed into 1 or 2 appointments. Pros: Good pricing, great tasting food, the general employees who serve the event or work the cafe are friendly Cons: Lengthy and unnecessary process to employ them for an event, owner has the memory of a goldfish, expect notes about your event to be wrong, pastry chef was extremely rude at our wedding and nearly slapped the knife out of my wife's hands when photographers were taking pictures

I’m sure their food is great. But the folks working the front desk have little understanding on interacting with clients. I waited right in front of the counter to order, and waited some more. Two ladies were working behind the counter. I didn’t mind that they were taking their time, I wasn’t expecting fast food. No acknowledgment came. Another guy came and stood behind me and we both waited some more. Then a new lady came in, passed us, and went to order from one of the workers who had clearly seen myself and the other guy waiting. The second lady behind the counter told me I would have to go up to the counter and order before she could serve me. No hello, no sorry you got skipped, not much personality at all. For a place to use the word southern in its name, I expect courtesy and care. Also for a place that serves nicer food, you would think they could keep up with Chick-fil-A’s level of hospitality. I went across the street to Arby’s and had a much better experience. Bye Felicia!

The Southern Gourmet serves EXCELLENT food! Their fish sandwich is one of my favorites! The "blue plate" specials are yummy and affordable. The cold case offerings can complete any dinner. Our family has had the honor to have The Southern Gourmet cater for the weddings of our oldest son and oldest daughter. The rehearsal dinners, wedding cakes and service have been highlights for all of our guests. Southern Garden Events is a beautiful venue that is expanding the business and vision. The located in newer plaza in Rowland Height, parking is not a problem since is still kinda new. The restaurant is pretty big for its kind, most restaurant of this type are tiny in comparison. Staff here is very friendly from waitress to the owner. They have a Chengdu style crepes station. This is first time I have see, they offer either salty or sweet one. The offer traditionalist hot pot, the pot isn't super hot and is pretty normal and were ok. Their cooked dish is what you wanted to come for. Food quality is excellent, the mug bean glass jelly is definite a must get, great way to start off. They had lots of seafood dish, included the whole crab. It was delicious, the shell is soft and meat is cooked it perfectly right. The fish

Crystal and team catered two back-to-back corporate events for us while we were visiting Charlotte, and they were amazing! Chrystal helped specialize each menu, and delivery and setup for each went exactly according to plan. While all the items were delicious, the key lime cheesecake brownies was unforgettable! Thanks for making this the easiest part of the trip!
