Just wasn't that good. Granted, it was a busy Saturday night, but when the server agrees to bring you a sauce for your meal, and refills on beverages, and is never heard from again, it leaves a poor impression. The salads were composed of what appeared to be preshredded, bagged lettuce, with a bit of shredded cheese and a single halved cherry tomato. The serving sizes of the entrees were fairly small, and very heavily spiced. We didn't hate the place, but won't be back.

Flavorful meals, sensibly priced, we have sent thousands of guests for rehearsal dinners to having weddings catered. Something Different also caters to our corporate events. We suggest the Bacon Crusted Sirloin and all of the Pasta Dishes!

Felt like a sauna in there. It was so hot inside we walked out before ordering and the staff even told us they have brought it up and the owner just says its hot outside so his AC can't keep up; unfortunately for him the AC in Chili's works fine so we walked out and went to Chili's instead. I even told the owner on the way out we we're leaving because it's so hot and he handed us the same line that he tells his staff about his ac can't keep up when its 95 out; boy do I feel for the kitchen staff and waitresses! Sad too because the food is good but I guess we'll return in October to dine when it will feel better inside.

I was so disappointed with my food. I've lived in the area for a long time but had never tried this place. Decided to finally eat there but the food was very bland. I ordered the shrimp scampi. The shrimp tasted good but there was only about 4 of them in this huge plate of pasta. I also received 2 lobster ravioli type discs with it. They had no flavor and neither did the pasta. My husband and son who are very picky ordered the burger. The bun had poppy seeds on it which I don't remember seeing that listed on the menu. My son was trying to pick the seeds off. Also the bun was bigger than the burger and the burger was not good. Burger paty was a little on the thin side and there was nothing flavorful or special about it. I will not ever go back.

A wonderful place to eat. Steaks are cooked as ordered. Wait staff if very attentive even when very busy. Owner walks through and greets every table as if you are the only people there. Stuffed chicken and crab dip are a must.

Got dinner there tonight and was pleasantly surprised with how great the staff was! We were seated promtly, our waitress took our order quickly, we never went without drinks and as we finished they cleaned up the table so we didn’t sit with empty plates in our way. Definitely recommend this place if you’re wanting somewhere to with good food and excellent service!

Food was good... Service was poor although i feel like there was some reason for the lack of service. It was very busy, but that's still no excuse to go 20 min without someone coming by after ordering. We ran out of wine and had to wait quite a while for a refill. One steak was overcooked but still good. One of our 5 different wait staff that it apparently took to serve us did take the check so i didn't have to wait in line 10 mins to pay but that couldn't make up for the lack of service up to that point

My wife and I got a night out alone together while we were in town, her parents watched our kids for us and recommended this place. It was amazing! The food was cooked to perfection and our waitress kept checking to make sure everything was ok. I don’t think our kids would have cared for it, but that’s why we went alone! Definitely a place for a couple to dine at.

The ribs were awesome but if you order the grilled veggies as a side, turns out it is just onions and peppers. I asked if I could have a side salad instead and they brought me iceberg lettuce with a little cheese on top. Something Different ended up being pretty ordinary and mediocre.

What a little gem this place was. Its tucked back in a little strip mall shopping center so it's kinda of hard to notice. They had quite the variety of food and everything was amazing! Will definitely visit again next time I head to the NC Zoo.

This restaurant could be more aptly named Something Adequate. Not horrible, just not great. Salad was bagged shredded lettuce, with a bit of cheese and one sad little cherry tomato. I had salmon and my husband had steak. Meh is the best word he and I had to describe it. Bread was Texas toast, not what I would have expected. Overall, I can say we will choose "something different" for dinner next time.

The owner saw that my little girl was not in a good mood because she was woken up from her nap so he personally brought her some m&ms and a plate of food put within the first 5 minutes of us sitting down. You dont get that type of service often these days. We will definately be returning the next time we are in ashboro.

We went here looking for something different, delicious, and local. And I think this place hit home runs on all counts. The food was delicious, we had a combination bayou and a low country boil, since it was on special. The portions are pretty healthy and we definitely had some leftovers, since we made sure to have desert - and dessert was also REALLy great! A healthy portion of warm pineapple upside down cake, with cold creamy ice cream, and hot caramel. The wait staff team-waited so service was SUPER fast, and they always had our glasses full, and as soon as we we ready to order someone was at our table. A really great experience and a place I will come back to as often as I can!

I was with a large party on Saturday night. We were waited on by a male and a female, the male being the most friendly and outgoing. The female being a total stuffed shirt and not anything but civil. You could tell she had waited on large parties before and didn't like them. The food at this place was only fair, the salmon was pretty good along with the overcooked vegetables with it. The salad was great because it's very hard to mess up a salad. Evidently the manager came over and pre-bused the tables, which was great. At some point the wait staff decided they were done with us and never brought our checks. I was mildly annoyed so I nicely walked up to the front and asked the waitress if she was going to bring our checks so we could go. And without a hint of a smile she said, they're right there (indicating the front desk). I was no longer mildly annoyed, and unfortunately for her, it reflected in her tip. I don't intend to return to this restaurant.

The food that was served to me wasn't what I ordered, so I got to watch others eat while I waited on staff to get it right. Then, you guessed it... others got to watch me eat my patched up plate of ill-prepared food. We've dined here several times previously and this was the second consecutive time we left disappointed. In the past, the manager usually asks how everything was, but he didn't ask this time. Since we sat in close proximity to where he was, I guess he already knew. Very disappointing. We won't be back.

Wonderful place for lunch or dinner and what's nice is they don't close between them. No problem going for an early dinner. Food always perfect...hot when it should be hot. Wait staff always friendly and helpful when trying to make up your mind. Special one night was a prime rib which was perfectly cooked and price less than $15. Salmon with rise is moist and just right. Desserts ... which one is hard to decide on. Great selection. The owner runs an incredible restaurant. Everyone should try it once.

SO!!! I live in Asheboro now. Been working here for a while. Have found my New Home for eating out!!! Sanin and Tula and wait person Harley, were all absolutely wonderful! The Salmon was done to perfection, the sauteed vegetables were equally well attended, and the Greek salad was divine! So I will be eating there once a week for as long as they remain open, which is, I pray, another thirty years. Two thumbs, up to infinity, and WAY beyond!

Good menu with huge variety from burgers to full entrees. Lamb chops were perfectly rare, one person had a rib eye steak well done...and it was. We had lots of freedom to sit and talk as we had traveled from various locations for the weekend. Wait staff was very attentive, followed up and left us to enjoy our meal. If ever in the area we will enjoy this restaurant again.

So delicious! We were in town for just the weekend. Our hotel had their menu at the front desk and we wanted to go somewhere that was nice. I'm so glad that we tried Something Different! The staff were friendly. And the service was super fast and good. Our drinks where low and 3 different people asked if they could get more drinks for us! Now that's service! The food was so good. The staff recommend dishes from every section of the menu. I went with the low country boil. The portion of food was plenty and very well cooked and seasoned. We had to have some of their dessert and we choose the pineapple upside down cake. I am so glad that we did! It literally melts in your mouth! When it came out the dish, it was so pretty it almost looked too good to eat but you know we had to do it anyway! We will definitely be back when we are in the area!

We visited Something Different after our trip to the NC zoo. It was less than 10 minutes away. We had a great experience and were seated immediately. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food came out extremely fast. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. We would definitely recommend Something Different to anyone who visits Asheboro.

Food was NOT good...burger was flavorless and small for 10.99... croutons in Caesar salad was to hard could barely bite into them...chicken also had no flavor and small for 10.99...onion rings were ok but tasted like fish...ranch was so watered down not sure if it was ranch... cream potatoes were edible...service was good...but when paying and asking how we liked it, I was honest and said I didn't like it and the person was very rude...will NOT go back nor recommend this place to anyone

I would give it six stars if I could, wonderful dining experience, I had a beef gyro, and it was very hot and tasty, the chef came to our table to bring the baby some finger food, you can tell he loves people, and food. First time in, busy Saturday night. We were sat 2nd of 3 booths. Third booth got there about 15 minutes after us. Our food came out last and you could tell it'd been sitting for a long time...was probably supposed to come out before the ones who got there after us. Husband got ribs, they were luke warm, I got chicken parmesan and it was congealed and the noodles were hard. I sent mine back. 10 minutes later it came out hot; when I started eating I realized the red sauce wasn't just marinara like usual, but meat sauce. It was disgusting - chicken and meat?? I ate the chicken that's it. Husband ate 25% or ribs, wasn't happy either. Worst part, food wasn't good and the bill was $45 - not worth it, Applebee's does better.
