Food was good. Waitress was great but the greeters and the manager were bumdasses. Would not seat us we were a party of 2 but seated 2 parties of 7 that came in 15min after us so I had to say something to them and the manager got an attitude and at that point I was in no mood for attitude.

Plenty of servers, very few tables, slow period. Salads took 20 minutes to come out, very little of it, bread is cold, no plates to put it on, cold butter all over bread, I guess to soften it up.. it's been over 30 minutes no entrees yet. I would not recommend.

Service was great and my fellow diner mentioned the waitress acknowledged us, you know, hi,my name is, etc. The food was good and I loved the bread. The steak my fellow diner had was smaller than what he ordered from the menu however the waitress was on it and made the accommodation for the difference. I really like the feel of this place everyone was warm helpful. Oh, when we looked online for this restaurant we kept coming up with the location in lenoir we thought this location had closed we went somewhere else. I happened to be driving by and noted it was still there and open. Yay!

The food isn't as good as it use to be. The ribs and shrimp are good. The chicken breast tastes like processed chicken not fresh chicken. It has a twang or spoiled taste. I know it is marinated in Italian dressing but that is not the taste that was there. I will never eat chicken there. Won't be going back anytime soon. Friendly staff.

First time at Sagebrush. The waitress was polite, fast and easy to get her attention when needed. Food takes a bit to cook but worth the wait. Everything was hot, delicious and the dessert was scrumptious. Will recommend to anyone willing to pay a little extra.

Go there a few times a month and to be honest it's a hit or miss. Staff is friendly but they are understaffed which makes the wait longer,and the food quality subject to dissatisfaction. This time for me was a bad experience which makes the place look bad.

Stopped in on my way home which is in Asheville . I haven't seen an open Sagebrush in a very long time nor ate at one ... Was hoping it would bring some childhood memories . Was pretty decent ... Had a scoring of 95 for sanitation , server did have to clean table for us because there was spilled drinks everywhere however it was pretty late so I will say for a surprise to them and being last minute they did exceptional ... No attitudes and they really did their best to provide great service for myself and family and I do appreciate . Our server was awesome , patient , attentive , all smiles . In all honesty threw the minor things we had an amazing time and great food ! Thanks you so much !

The service was very slow. We got very little food and on top if that our baked potatoes were cold. We asked for silverware and steak sauce twice before they brought it and when they finally did they brought and empty bottle of steak sauce. So we told them and asked for another one but never got it.

Very hit or miss. Sometimes the steak is the best in the east, other times it is very bland. No discernible pattern. Probably the chef, but I don’t know who to hope for. Not just the cooking, but even the seasoning seems different. Wait staff always seems to try hard, though they seem frequently short staffed.

This place is a dump with a 92.5 rating ? The inspector must have been in a great mood to say the least. After we sat down and ordered, We noticed dust and spiderwebs on everything. The ribs were overcooked and tough, The lettuce tasted old and my wifes steak had no flavor at all. And to top it all off, We had to get the manager to chase down our waitress to get our change after paying her 15 minutes earlier.....

It was my husband and I's first time there. We both ordered steaks. First of all the food came cold. Both were over done but cold.??? There was no flavor to them at all . No seasoning. It was a first rate price for a second rate cut of meat.

We had to ask for our drinks (twice), napkins and utensils. They were out of regular napkins and only had the small bar napkins. When we paid for our meal we had to get the manager and ask for our change. Overall they just didn't have it together in the front of the restaurant. My steak would have been great had it been seasoned. It was cooked perfectly medium rare.

Went to eat with my mother something we don't get to do that often. Chose sagebrush for our mother daughter lunch. It wasn't busy so we figured we wouldn't be there long. We ordered an appetizer and one order of chicken tenders to share. It took over 20 minutes to get our appetizer. After that we waited another 35 minutes for our food, let me remind u we are sharing chicken tenders. Our waitress was so concerned about the man behind us (come to find out it was her boyfriend) she kept checking on him right behind us but kept skipping us. Once she realized we were not happy she spoke to the manager and he came to check on us. Note the food was good and hot the serivce was unacceptable. Needless to say we will not be returning here on our next mother daughter lunch.

The potatos was cold, even the green beans were little past warm. There was trash in the floor, paper, fork. Tables hasn't been cleaned off. With only 2 people eating. Not like it was to busy that they didn't have time.

Went there for Sunday Dinner. I gave it 4⭐ because it was prepared very well. I ordered the Lafayette Chicken. Only thing I disagreed with was the rice pilaf was more like a thin layer. I asked our server about it. Her answer wast that the rice pilaf was more like a garnish??? Pilaf is actually a dish served with or under the.meat. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I literally had 4 shrimp on top. Like I said before. The meal was great.

The wait was super short always a big plus for me the food was pretty average, rolls weren't to my taste, the price however was. I did have my steak was supposed to be medium rare, came out rarest that you can get, but they made me a new one and manager brought it to me ,very impressed with that. Staff was good as well, would definitely go back.

Went for lunch while I was in the area. Wasn't bad, but could have been a little better. Service was good and didn't wait long for the food to come out. Steak was a little on the tough side for it to be cooked medium rare, had good flavor though.

2/23/19 My steak was cooked beautifully but had absolutely NO TASTE and our waitress was horrible our drink glasses sat empty numerous times the only real time we saw her was when it was time to pay the bill. Disappointed, been before and it was extremely good food.

Giving one star because there isn't a lesser option. This was the worst dining experience I've ever had! The wait staff looked like they were all on the verge of quitting and or dying, and it became clear as the meal arrived. The putrid excuse for a steak that was brought to our table was so disgusting. Couldn't even eat more than just one bite. The waitress seemed to be ashamed and didn't even ask how the food was because she already knew as the table next to ours was giving a lengthy complaint. I try to be understanding but that was so unbelievably disgusting. Only one bite and we were done. Do yourself a favor and pass this place on by, you'd be much better off with a pack of crackers from a gas station... trust me.

First time eating here. Had the 15oz ribeye. It was juicy but thin for $20.99. The loaded mashed potatoes were flavorful but lukewarm. The side salad($1 add on) was underwhelming. The wife had the Lafayette Chicken and enjoyed it.

I would give this restaurant a 0 if I could. The waitress was horrible and very rarely came over to see if we needed anything. I ordered a hot beverage and it was lukewarm at best. The food wasn't great. Don't waste your time.

I enjoyed my meal here! I had sirloin tips with seasoned fries and it was delicious! The only problem was that the service was a little slow. Although, our waitress gave us TWO desserts on the house since our food came out a bit late. Their really considerate and they work hard! I recommend Sagebrush! ❤

First place we saw after a two hour drive on a dirt back road riddled with waterfalls, caverns and trails! Food was great but I think it was influenced from hunger and stress from driving in those back woods road where you can only go safe speed of 15mph without dying, lol

Very good salad bar with all the fixings including strawberry's! The soup was potato soup and broccoli and cheese soup. I had the hot wings and they were really good and my wife had the chicken tenders with some really good honey mustard sauce. The service was great too!

They told us it would be a 20 to 30 minute wait and I understand. It was a weekend. Finally after an hour we were seated. The reason for the wait was not enough silverware. We order. She brings my salad. Then we wait another 45 minutes for steak. They brought us someone else food during the 45 minute wait. The food belonged to a table seated 20 minutes after us. Then when we got our food my steak was burnt and tough. I wasn't sending it back because it would be another hour so ... Service was ok but not great. She didn't check on us while we waited. No refills. That will be our last visit.

I ordered brisket, it had no flavor. My mac and cheese and potatoes had no flavor. Food was not hot only warm. My boyfriend got the ribs and chicken with potato soup. No spoon for the soup, had to ask for that, plus straws,napkins,refills and boxes. His food was good. Except for the soup it was watered down. Will not be going back to this location again.

My husband and I were a little hesitant as the parking lot was empty but so happy we decided to give it a try!! Our salad was great (the ranch is amazing), the yeast rolls were even more amazing and our food was delicious!! Place was not busy at all. Party of 4. Was seated at 6:45PM. Server took drink orders. 1 soft-drink, 1 tea, 1 water, 1 Coors Lite. Appetizer ordered with the drinks. 6:50PM drinks arrived, no beer. Asked where my beer was. “Working on it”. Took food order while there. 7:00PM no appetizer, no beer. One in our party said to me if the appetizer isn't here soon, I'll just cancel it. 7:05PM appetizer arrived with my beer. Beer wasn't even cold, and honestly didn't taste like Coors Lite. 7:30PM, noticed couple seated near us who were there before us, had no food. They got up and left. 7:40PM server returned to our table to let me know they had ran out of baked potatoes. Asked if I'd like fries instead. I placed my order 40 minutes ago, and your now telling me you can't fill the order. Said no, just cancel my order. 7:45PM, the orders that could be filled were served. Those who were served, finished their meal. Food was average at best. Server returned with the check. $3.50 for warm, stale beer. Wasn't her fault. Paid with a tip, and left.

After doing on online search and looking thru my stack of takeout menus, I decided on Sagebrush. Really in the mood for sirloin tips. Called in my order, went for pickup, brought home and ate. Truthfully, the BEST takeout I've had in a long time. The steak was good (the only complaint, if I were to have one, was the meat wasn't cooked mid-rare...BUT I purposely ordered them slightly under because I wanted them medium. In that, they didn't prep as I asked but did as I actually wanted them)...the baked potato was PERFECT...there were TONS of peppers and onions. I subbed a Caesar salad for my 2nd side. It was HUGE. (I'm having it for lunch tomorrow along with a second meal out of several pieces of leftover steak and about 80% of my potato). And I probably shouldn't mention this, but they didn't even charge me the $1 upcharge for subbing a salad. Will definitely visit again. It is a little on the pricy side, but I'm happy to spend it if I feel I've gotten my money's worth. I'd honestly give 10 stars if it was available.

Prices aren't paid, but you only get one side. Our waitress was excellent! The food was average. I had fried shrimp, but didn't realize that they were small almost popcorn shrimp instead of regular sized shrimp. My husband had the turkey cheddar melt which he says were average. The food wasn't bad, but it's nothing to brag about. What I will brag about is the the rolls that you get; they were excellent!

Manager and wait staff were amazing. Food though was subpar. Two chances and both time left hungry and feeling sick to my stomache. Firat time ended up with repearivl charcoal steaks. The 2nd the burgers were more grease then food. The fries are just fast food fries from Walmart. Sadly this is one place I wont be going back.

Last time was better. This time my ribs were overcooked and it was hard to tell if the crispy parts were meat or bone or cartilage until they either were able to be chewed up or not. Several were not meat. Yuck. And they were cold. Really. Not even warm. The steak was perfectly medium rare and was delicious. The rules were hot and fresh. The mac and cheese was truly flavorless. Not good, not bad. Just super bland. Fries were oven baked- maybe twice to be warmed up. Not good either. The service was really nice and we enjoyed our server. Attentive, not interruptive, friendly. It was putting rain when we left and a host saw we didn't have an umbrella and walked us to our car. That was very thoughtful. We will give it another try at some other time.

I never put 1 star in my reviews but this time it is necessary, I honestly just feel bad for the owner of this restaurant. The server received us and starting by say she was having the terrible day and then proceeded to rush us to order, after that they brought the wrong drink they didn’t bring bread until the food was served, and they wrong food order when to we told the manager she said it was bad day to come in because her boss was arrested last week, I don’t know why she told me that. Bad experience in general. By the way we were not the only table complaining

We should've turned around when we saw how empty the parking lot was. I ordered the fish and chips which was a disappointment. I thought it was rather weird that the fish was chopped up I almost thought they got my order wrong and gave me chicken tenders but whatever the fish was not good. The fries were supposed to be seasoned and they weren't. My husband ordered a steak...... He referred to it as tasting "dirty". I can agree it had a weird smell, I believe the meat was old. I certainly was not going to try it though. We sent the steak back and got wings instead which were ok. Our server was great though!

I only give this two stars because the hostess was very nice and the waitress was and good (for the most part) she let our drinks go empty twice and took her time to refill them and she only had one other table she was waiting on besides us, we were passing through on a trip back from the mountains and we hadn't eaten Sagebrush in quite some time. The Highlight was our appetizer the onion petals with zesty sauce-they were fresh, the rolls were fresh but extremely over buttered there was a puddle of butter in the bottom of the basket, me and my fiance ordered the 6 oz sirloin both steaks had a Strong taste of char but also tasted like they were cooked in a microwave, I couldn't place the flavor at first but when my fiance said it tastes like one of your steaks but heated up the the next day in the microwave I realized that's exactly what it tasted like but with little to no seasoning at all, I got the baked potato loaded which was below room temperature when I received it and the skin was burnt on the outside, she got the mashed potatoes which were yellow and and had kind of a funky taste and she asked me to take a bite and I agreed they were not 100%. All in all were weren't very satisfied to walk out paying $60 after tip for the food we received! Regrettably this is not the kind of food and service we have received in the past from other Sagebrush locations!

We did come in at 9 o'clock so I am guessing that they were ready to close so....maybe we were eating the last of everything either way I was not impressed with the food to much. Came out with 3 ribs and 8 small popcorn shrimp. $20 way too much for small plate like this. Menu said supposed to have half rack of ribs. Asked mgr. She said menu misprinted. Offered free dessert. Never ever again. After waiting a hour to get our food that was cold went it got to our table the waitress is not good. If your hungry don’t go here either they don’t feed you and prices are high for the little amount of food you get. We had a appetizer which was cheese fries that would have got on a small saucer plate. They was $8 and they was cold when we got them and not good. Just a fair warning don’t go hungry. The main course looked like something out of a microwaveable heatem up eatem up box with very small portions. Don’t waste your time. Wow. My boyfriend is very picky. For years he hasnt had a steak that made him wow. He raved about his steak. I ordered a salad, our server prepared it and normally salads at steak houses arent very good. Mine was awesome with mandarin oranges and wontons. Delicious. Yummy margaritas. Our server was so sweet and personable. We'll stop by whenever we're in Morganton.

THE RUMORS ARE TRUE! STAY AWAY!!! First off, you know the place is bad when its dinner primetime and there's only 7 cars in the parking lot. The restaurant was dead, no music but it still took FOREVER for our waitress to get our drink order, food order AND food to come. There was at least 5-6 waitresses for a total of 5 tables of people. I've never waited 23 minutes for someone to take my drink order. The people beside us warned not to drink the water because it tasted nasty (and it did). The girl with us NEVER got her drink the ENTIRE night. The waitress COMPLETELY IGNORED HER even when being POLITELY asked and the waitress asking her! After our drinks, we waited approximately another 16 minutes for the rolls to come & half were burnt and the others a little raw and doughy. Then, after 21 minutes they FINALLY took our order. We ordered our free appetizer of cheese fries & 2 grilled chicken sandwiches. The app took about 16 minutes and when we got it, the waitress dropped the dressing on me. She apologized and wiped a little off & left, leaving me to clean the rest it off. After another 23 minutes, our starvation was over and saw food. My brother & I got ours first and we ordered the grilled chicken and they were 2 DIFFERENT SIZES! His filet covered the entire bun & was thick; my chicken was LITERALLY a tender that was dry & chewy. The buns were SUBMERGED in butter & burnt. The table beside us had issues as well as their steak tips was burnt black. I asked for a different waitress & told her my chicken was INCREDIBLY too small for $9 and asked for a normal filet of chicken & a plain bun. More food started to come out and ALL of the orders were either burnt or raw. I wish I could make this up but, sadly I can't

Our waitress was amazing. My brother was with us, and he has special needs. I was grateful for her amazing job at including him and treating him as a person. The hostesses, were not so great. We watched them drop a napkin on the floor, pick it up, and wrap silverware in it. When we asked them about it, they said they stuck it to the side. Why not throw it away, and get a fresh napkin? What happens at shift change or it gets busy? Does that dirty napkin end up being given to someone? They spent the rest of our time there talking up near the front, and casting glances in our direction. I want to give credit to the waitress because she was amazing. The hostesses definitely made me question whether to eat there again.

I've eaten here several times. It seems like they're trying but just not making it. The food is never hot, everything comes out at room temperature if you're lucky. Once I went in twenty minutes before closing and ordered the fried onion as an appetizer and steak tips. The steak was once again room temperature as well as the sides but the real insult was that they brought the fried onions out about a minute before the food and they were soggy and old like they were left over from earlier in the evening. That was a real insult, like punishment for coming in so late. Two thumbs down.

Me and my husband was eating and enjoying ourself. Our waitress was very nice. So i notice that a white female that was working going around asking guess do they want a balloon and that it's not just for kids, adults can have fun too. To give you a bigger picture on how I felt me and my husband was probably the only black people there. There was 3 people who were white sitting behind me and across from them where white people and across from me and my husband another group that were white. I don't care for what race you are I like all race of people. The employee that was working Saturday October 19th about 7pm was turning balloons into whatever you want went to each of those booths that occupied white people but failed to ask me and my husband which was very weird. Who does that. I was enjoying myself until that happened. Things just don't change and it's a shame. Wake up people we are in a different scenery.

We went there for my 17 yr old granddaughter's birthday. The service was fantastic and the food was great. Some got steak, some got chicken and I had the salmon. Everything was good. Our waiter was right there with everything we needed before we even ask for it. He surprised her with a huge dessert that we weren't expecting. It was a wonderful experience for all of us.

Took a friend to lunch & shared a full rack of ribs done to perfection! Each of us also had a sweet potato & shared some broccoli. The appetizer we shared was a basket of deliciously-seasoned fried chicken nuggets with sides of creamy dip & salsa. Our waitress was the sweetest young woman who was attentive, friendly, knew the menu well, & was able to make recommendations & suggestions---got to try the Texas cole slaw! We look forward to going again. Sunday afternoon was relaxed & quiet.

Ate lunch there. I ordered barbecued brisket. The meat was good though not highly smoked as I prefer. The meal came with baked beans which were good but needed spicing up. The other side dish was a baked sliced apple in a syrup. The apple slices were on the bland side needing more cinnamon. My wife liked them though. My rating is this meal was average but $$$. I would eat another meal there but preferably a dinner.

It really was delicious but the nightmare getting anything correct that was ordered and ordering fish and chips to have a waitress inform you "mam we don't serve fries with our fish plates" kinda blew my mind While the main manager made it right the whole order the next day including the missing sides to the steaks, it just didn't sit well with our whole family since 7 months not one of our 7 family who experienced the fiasco have went back im sad to say because when they are on their game their really good but when not oh dear lord help us all. I hope things changed because of my last review. We may give them a try again will let all my followers know.

This was a terrible experience from the time we walked in the door. After we were seated the waitress came over, never introduced herself, just asked what we wanted to drink. Didn't ask if we wanted an appitizer. Came back with drinks set them down and walked away. She comes back and we asked if we could get an appetizer and she said what ya want. Came back and said exactly for you, and you and you and you in taking our orders. I ordered a steak medium well and came very well and very dry. Mac and cheese had a funny taste and I found a black piece in my mashed potatoes. Very unfriendly waitress at least to our table. We had a party of 4 and she only brought 3 rolls and we had to ask for those. Terrible all the way around. So much salt on my husbands ribs and my steak. Did not seem to care at all about their customers. We went ahead and left a really good tip in hopes this waitress would care and think that maybe I shouldn't treat people this way. But somehow I doubt that. This is a terrible place to eat!! Do not reccomend this restaurant at all!!

When I first arived it was 8 pm no one else other than a few guys at the bar were here and yet it took 10 minutes to be seated once we finally were seated we waited for 20 minutes to get our drink orders took and once we told her it took forever to get the drinks and they were the wrong drinks and one of the drinks didn’t get here till the food did we got the appetizer after we finished eating we waited on the food for about an hour the burger was burnt and the chicken was cold the fries were extremely salty and the slaw had NO flavor I asked for mustard and was given ketchup we asked for ranch and never got it when we did the chips were soggy and the cheese tasted old and the whole order was just wrong wrong wrong I am so not please they brought the bill and guess what it was wrong too we sat there for an hour and a half seems like the waitress could only flirt instead of do her job she got no tip I won’t be back.

My husband and I went to the Sagebrush in Morganton today at 5 PM. The place was not busy at all! We were sat by the hostess quickly. Looked over the menu and figured out what we wanted and continued to sit there. No one greeted us at all. No one came to take our drink order. The hostess that sat us came by our table 3 different times and seen that we still had not been helped. After 10+ minutes, we got up and walked out. As we were walking out, I advised the hostess that we were leaving and why; she just looked at me like I was stupid.

Wow, who knew getting a medium steak and a warm bowl of soup would be so difficult? My soup came, stone cold, i sent it back. A new bowl comes, also cold (baked potato soup). The manager says that they must have taken it from the wrong container. I spent the rest of the night wondering if I was going to die of botulism. Fortunately, there were no ill effects, but wow! The bread was really good fwiw.

Worst food EVER. Mac and cheese tasted like plastic, potato skins were cold, steak was tough, green beans I can’t even describe what they tasted like, first round of rolls were under cooked, second round was way too done, fried okra was the only thing decent, after complaining about the green beans and swapping them for more okra they screwed up the only good thing they had going for them by sending out under cooked okra. I never leave reviews this is literally my first review. Stay away from this place. This is by far the worst food I’ve ever ate at a restaurant. Ate here on a Tuesday around 5:45pm.

My food was good I had a medium 6 oz sirlon, it was cooked correctly and loaded mash potatoes. However my mother got a salad with steak on it it literally had 4 pieces of small steak and she found a hair in it. Our waitress came by maybe 2 times. Refilled my drink once I was empty for my whole meal! As a server I knew she should be doing better than this.

I wanted to like this place but I think they could use the assistance of Gordon Ramsay to train the staff and fix all the issues. When I first walked in, I noticed how abnormally stark and bright the restaurant was; like a cafeteria. It definitely took away from the ambiance but I was really there for the food anyway. My fiancé ordered a "margarita on the rocks" and what came out was a half full 8 ball glass barely with salt on the rim and they called it an "almost margarita" - ???? What? He sent it back and got a tea. We both ordered the 12 oz Ribeye marinated in fruit juices for $18.99 and if they were 12 oz I'd be surprised and about 6 oz of mine was pure fat I had to cut away. It definitely was not worth the price. We asked for A1 and the waiter literally brought us an empty bottle with nothing in it. We also asked for water and bread which I had to repeatedly ask for and then was told there was no more bread and then it had been burned - did we still want to wait for more. Lastly the waiter got our bill wrong and had to back out the charges on the card. The whole experience was an epic fail and I can't find any reason to go back when there are other better and more reasonable options.

We arrived a party of 5 at 8:45 as we noticed the place closed at 10. After we ordered the staff started putting the chairs on the tables and then mopped the floor right next to where we were sitting. They should have sat us in another location away from the cleaning or just said they were closed. BTW, the food was very good. As a local, I was embarrassed that my out of town guests saw this. Will go next door next time. I spoke a day later to the GM. He apologized for what happened. I am always saddened when an establishment does not take the time to respond to reviews either good or bad.

Our waitress was horrible. Brought out the appetizer with the meals. My order was completely wrong and I sent it back. After my family had finished their meals and had their plates cleared the manager brought out my meal. No apology just condescending. The new meal consisted of a chewy steak and a dry, under cooked potato. Another waitress and the host were very helpful. But, as I sit here at home eating cereal for dinner I am confident it is better than any food I would have been served at this restaurant.
