Roots gave us an amazing experience with our wedding reception! We cannot recommend their services highly enough, as they made sure our wedding guests were well looked after during the cocktail hour and while we were taking pictures with the bridal party. In doing so, Roots made sure that an attendant was bringing the bridal party hor d'oeurves throughout the photographs. We were also stunned by the tastes and presentations of all of the foods, though the truffle mac n cheese and squash casserole were our personal favorites. Roots', and Kellyn's, professionalism, punctuality, and ease with which to do business were unexpectedly excellent on our special day, and you would be making a wise choice to consider, and hire, Roots for your special event.

We used Roots for catering for our wedding and they certainly delivered! We used them not only for food, but also for our bartenders (we were able to provide our own alcohol). Kellyn did an amazing time at guiding us through the Roots menu and selecting crowd favorites that we also loved. She also helped us figure out just how much alcohol we needed to buy, taking a huge stressor off us. Also, Roots food is REALLY GOOD! I received so many compliments on enjoying the food, something that seems to be uncommon at weddings these days. Roots perfectly fit into my wedding vision and did a great job at decorating our buffet line. I have nothing but positive things to say, so if you like the menu, you won't be disappointed!

We used Roots for our wedding catering through Separk Mansion's all-inclusive package and were thrilled with the results. Roots has an incredible menu with tons of choices that will please everyone. I loved all of the food we had at our wedding, but the crowd-pleaser was definitely the mac and cheese -- we are still hearing about how delicious it was from all of our guests! The shrimp and grits are amazing and so are the chicken and waffles. We also had a few vegan guests and Roots took care of them with delicious and filling vegan meals. Highly recommend Roots catering!!!

Roots Catering is one of our favorite caterers in the Charlotte Area. Roots is one of our caterers on our list of exclusive caterers at Separk Mansion. They offer different menu options, great price points and exceptional customize service. Their waitstaff and Chef's are always so helpful and provide the highest level of service to our clients. Our favorite items on their menu is the Pimento Cheese Hush puppies, Charleston style Crab Cakes and the squash casserole! We have nothing to worry about with Roots catering is her at the mansion.

My husband and I are both foodies and wanted to make sure that we had a menu on our wedding day that made our guests as excited about food as are. Lol. We were certainly able to do that with Roots team. For starters, they have a long list of food options, all crafted with fresh and seasonal ingredients, which was important to my husband and me. There were so many yummy items to choose from that we had a difficult time deciding which route to go with our menu. Our coordinator, Kellyn, was so patient and sweet. She helped us clarify our vision for our wedding day, and craft a menu that was the perfect reflection of us, all while accommodating a wide variety of tastes and dietary restrictions. The marinated portabella mushrooms that were originally added to the menu for our vegan and vegetarian friends were so delicious that even our meat-eating relatives were talking about them. Additionally, when the vendor who was going to provide us with our donut cake fell through at the last minute, the Roots team was right there to help us pull off a beautiful dessert display. Our wedding was over a month ago now, and still, I continue to get texts and calls about how wonderful the food was. Thank you Roots Catering for making our special day even more special!

We had the most amazing experience with Roots Catering at our in-home celebration for approximately 50 guests. Firstly, the food was original (that okra!), wonderfully prepared, and lovingly presented. The entire staff was top-notch - professional, friendly, and accommodating. Umm book them now! Roots catered my wedding of 50 guests and people won't stop raving about the food! We had a southern style pig picking with fire roasted veggies, mashed potato bar, and cornbread. However, everyone's favorite part were the appetizers! Fried mac and cheese balls and corn cakes were the toast of the reception. Not to mention the staff brought some apps over to my groom and I while we were taking pictures so we could actually eat some! During dinner they made sure we got enough to eat and didn't want for anything. I worked with Kellyn in the planning process and she was very communicative and sweet. Seriously book them right this second.

We used Roots for our wedding in May and could not have been happier. From our initial inquiry to every last executed detail, Kellyn our sales rep, was the best we could have asked for. She created a menu unique to our wedding and was always quick to respond to insure each one of our request were met. Not only did roots have amazing customer service but the food was to die for. Out of all aspects of our wedding the food was the most raved about. Roots created delicious stations including Thai, tempura, and even Moroccan (themed for our honeymoon). The onsite staff was attentive and made everyone feel welcome. Thank you to Roots our special day would not have been the same with you!

I used Roots to cater my wedding last week. At our tasting the food was way too salty, and this was asked to be adjusted. On the day of the wedding, half of our guests liked the food and half did not. The half that did, really liked the shrimp and grits, however they did not like the fact that it was portioned. The half that didn't enjoy the food complained that the roast beef was dried and the green beans were too hard and undercooked. My husband and I could only confirm some of the remarks as our plates were served to us COLD! It wasn't hot, or slightly warm. IT WAS JUST COLD., so we didn't eat much but a few bites. I sent my plate back to be reheated and it still wasn't hot enough. We both agreed that the beef was dried and the green beans were too hard. The carrots on the beef was good and the au gratin potatoes would have been good had our food been hot. In regards to the hors d'oeuvres, all the guests really liked them. We were promised that the wedding party (whom were out taking pictures) would be served these appetizers during cocktail hours. My wedding party had to go hunt down the servers to get food and my husband and I only received 2 crab cake and 1 chicken and waffle. I'm not very satisfied with the dinner food quality nor the cocktail hour wait service. The only other interaction that we had with Roots employee was during our tasting and they were nice, so I was stocked to receive below par food and servers.

It’s so hard to even begin reviewing because everything was so good, I don’t know where to even start! First of all, Kellyn was an amazing resource during the wedding planning process. She went above and beyond her duties as a catering liaison! On the day of the wedding, people couldn’t stop raving about how amazing the food was and how they wanted more! The sign of a good wedding, is compliments about the food. ;-) The planning process can be difficult and stressful, but we never had a moment of stress with Roots. Everyone was so lovely and cheerful! They went out of their way to make our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more. We will be using them again for future events. We can’t say enough amazing things about our experience!

My guests raved about the food and our attendant, Savannah was incredible. Chandler, the account executive, was awesome in helping me plan and was on target with the quantity and types of food. The warm dips, carved items, and mini tarts in particular were hits. Personally, the warm dips are the best. I highly recommend having an attendant. Even with only 40 guests, with Savannah there, I didn't have to worry about anything. I could talk to my guests while she kept up with the food and drinks. Afterward, she cleaned up and all I had to do was vacuum. Perfect. Highly recommend

I want to take a moment to thank Chandler and the staff at Roots so much for coordinating the catering for my husband's 50th surprise birthday party. Even though I didn't have a chance to eat (I was on hosting duties and too excited), the guests loved it. It was the perfect amount and we had very little to take home. The filet mignon and grilled shrimp were a hit as well as the buffalo chicken dip. It was the perfect food item choices for the event and appropriately priced. I really appreciate Chandler taking the time to help me navigate and select the right menu options and being patient and flexible with any last minute requests. Roots will definitely be a strong recommendation to others and I hope to work with them in the future. I will also make time to visit the restaurant to have some of the items I didn't get to enjoy.

ROOTS Catering provided the food and service for our new wedding tent reveal party and blew us away! Our guests raved about the passed appetizers and about the shrimp and grits pop-up station. Roots catered our wedding of 170 people last weekend down at a personal residence on Lake Wateree. I can't say enough good things about this company (and Kellyn) - our venue had some logistical challenges that I know Roots had to adjust to on day of. As a bride, I didn't see/feel any stress from those changes, there were handled so smoothly. The food was beautiful and delicious, and the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The next morning, the place was nearly spotless - you couldn't tell that we just had a wedding of 170 people. From the pre-wedding planning, to the food, staff and post-party clean up, I give Roots 5 stars. It couldn't have been better. Thank you Roots!

ROOTS catered our wedding with a family style banquet. We only have rave reviews for the food and service. Many guests have told us it was the best meal they have had at a wedding! ROOTS worked with us each step of the way and helped us choose a menu, setting, and service that reflected all we wanted and was in our budget. Roots Catering was a fantastic experience from all aspects. They were a last minute recommendation from a friend and they saved the day. After speaking to Olivia I had an initial quote in less than 3 hours for our wedding of 70 at our farm in South Carolina. They were very professional in both the business end as well as the creative execution of the event. We had a tasting that accommodated our schedule and Olivia came to visit the site to be sure they had all their T's crossed and i dotted. Their menu choices were crowd pleasers but worked for our foodie folks as well. Preparation and execution and staff were all excellent. As stressful as a wedding can be you must work with a group that functions well and independently. I never had to worry about them pre-event or during the event. Thank you Roots. The manager never smiled and acted like everything we asked for was an inconvenience. Save yourself some money and pick up a chick fil a tray for the same quality of food.

I can't say enough good things about our experience with Roots Catering, which just catered our wedding for about 180 guests. From the beginning, about a year ago when we first went for a delicious and extravagant tasting, Roots has made us feel like we were its only client. Roots responded quickly to every question we had, made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it and easily accommodated our many food allergies. Our wedding was 100 percent vegan (which Roots didn't hesitate to take on), and the food was so good that many non-vegans raved about the barbecue jackfruit and even got multiple helpings. When the wedding approached, Roots made sure to visit the venue with us and finalize the logistics of every small detail and even offered to find us heaters when the temperatures dipped down below what we had expected. Obviously, Roots wasn't responsible for finding us heaters, but it went above and beyond the job scope, and we can't say thank you for enough for everything. Choosing Roots for my wedding, which is a huge decision, was one of the better ones we made.
