This place has the best food. My husband wanted to get a second of the same sandwich. The brisket is the best! Order the sandwich plate without the bun. You get a lot of meat without all the carbs. Service was great as well.

I went to Red Hot and Blue a decent amount growing up, and the food is pretty okay. The prices are too high, though, especially since it's a fairly unexceptional chain. Moreover, there are better options for barbecue in the area, many of them less expensive.

Good restaurant but not spectacular. The barbecue is good, but nothing over the top. I had the triple threat, and the brisket was dry. The ribs with a dry rub was good, and the chicken was average. My kids ate their food, but they bvb wont ask to go back. I would give it a C+

I have given this restaurant 2 opportunities and both times it was bad. I honestly don’t know why NC natives would even want to eat here with so many other options. Several months ago when visiting I had an extremely mushy pulled pork sandwich. Last week week I decided to get a burger topped with bbq. Absolutely disgusting,the burger (requested well done)was frozen. It had absolutely no flavor,but that’s not the worst part. It wasn’t cooked through! Raw frozen burger that was lightly seared?! GROSS! Never again! Red raw meat all over the place!

Red Hot and Blue is a restaurant I've eaten at too many times to count. It has been standing in this location for more than twenty years. My parents and I ate here as a child, and I will bring my children here. Not only has it been a meeting spot for my family, my friends and I, it also instilled a love of Blues music that influenced it. All in all, this is a great place.

The service was good, but the food was only so-so. We started with the fried pickles chips. The breading was too heavy, and there wasn't much pickle flavor. My boyfriend wasn't thrilled with his BBQ pork especially since there was no Eastern style sauce. It was edible but definitely not his favorite. He didn't like the collard greens & said that they tasted old & didn't have much flavor. My nachos were tasty but nothing to write home about. Needless to say, we won't be back anytime soon. We prefer City BBQ or Danny's BBQ.

My wife and I go often. The food is always great. The baked sweet potato is the best I've ever eaten... Worth the trip even if you're a vegetarian! The portions are generous and the service is prompt. My favorites are the pulled chicken, baked chicken on the bone, and the brisket. I always mix the sweet sauce and the mustard sauce for a sweet/sour combo. The prices are reasonable and I like the table service that you don't get at City BBQ. The restaurant decor is a little dated, but it is always clean and the staff is nice.

I have enjoyed this place very much in the past, so maybe I went on an off day. We were basically the only people there, yet our food still took way too long. We sat for nearly 30 minutes waiting after we ordered. I was disappointed with my "Carolina" bbq sandwich, which for some reason had excessive amounts of black pepper in it. The staff was friendly, and our drinks stayed full. Just a little disappointed in our food.

There is a lot of variety on the menu. It's all very, very good. My personal favorite are the smoked half chickens. Super juicy, and the meat falls off of the bone! Servers are all hard working local high school and college students paying their own way through school and other goals. A lot of neat stories about the servers who have worked there over the years and gone onto great successes as a result of their hard work.

Service was good. I ordered the "5 meat treat" all meats were tender and juicy. I wasn't able to tell the pulled pork from the pulled chicken. The items didn't taste like they were smoked or slowly cooked. Great variety of sauces. I think I liked the brisket the best and the sausage the least. The food didn't hit it out of the park for me.

Decent lunch special, and THE HOT SAUCE IS ACTUALLY KINDA HOT!! (I hate going places that have a “hot” sauce that tastes like tomato paste with maybe some black pepper in it.) BBQ, slaw, & potato salad all decent. On the other hand... a single cheap beer (Blue Moon) was $5.20 BEFORE tax. Ridiculous... it’s like they think they’re inside an airport or something.
