First time visiting and I will not be returning. The fried chicken tasted burnt and was not fresh. The macaroni and cheese was not edible. I was cooked noodles with hard cheese on top. There was no cheese sauce mixed in. The okra was over cooked. My niece had fish and it was overcooked.

Ok soul food place. I've visited several times. Each time the food flavors we're inconsistent. However, the whiting's fish fillet tasted the same every time. The fish is delicious!! The macaroni and cheese/ potato salad need some work. Sometimes the yams are way too sweet. The fish is worth a visit!

The food here is delish, great home cooking. Nothing out of a can. Fresh cooked collards, cabbage & my goodness we got the chitilling dinners during A&T homecoming!! Melt in your mouth!! No long lines. We ordered 2 plates extra to go. You will certainly have a real soul food experience!! Staff is outstanding.

First visit. We arrived at 3:45, placed our order and my invoice had 3:49. The chicken was fried to perfection But had NO seasoning, none not even salt. My 14yr old son even said " Ma, they forgot to put salt on the chicken" the Mac and cheese was dry, green beans had no flavor AT all besides sugar. The mashed potatoes were unflavored as well, could not taste a smidge of butter or salt. They also need a better exhaust system, it reaked fried/burned cooking oil, when we left you would of thought we were in the kitchen cooking. And the wait..... Was 30 minutes. Unfortunately that was our 1st and last visit.

Overall we were satisfied enough to finish our meals. Cabbage had no flavor at all, cornbread was dry and hard. Would prefer tables and condiments to be a little more clean. I will say the catfish And chicken were good.

The food was bland as hell no flavor at all you would expect out of soul food. The fried chicken tasted like they took it straight out of the pack into some "plain" non- seasoned flour then fried. The Mac and cheese had no flavor what so ever. Get better recipes guys and you will prosper. #TruthHurts

The food is wonderful but the customer service sucks. I’ve visited both places located in Greensboro and the same customer service applied. I spoke to the Owner on several occasions about the service but nothing was done. The Owner is very nice and tries to accommodate yet I think his workers are family and he really doesn’t want to reprimand harshly. Today was my last time giving them a chance. Every worker that was there had an unfriendly attitude and the energy that was in the atmosphere was terrible. As I said the food is great but with customer service as such he will loose lots of customers. I was spending over $100-$150 in this establishment but no more.

I was very disappointed my flounder was really small an hard on the ends. Once again they forgot my rolls. After calling back I was told "the flounder is small today", I notice the price didnt drop in size... $15 for fries,coleslaw, baked beans and 3 really small fish

I had been several times, and was satisfied. However, I went on mother's day, and was so disappointed. I ordered the fish and shrimp. The shrimp was so overcooked, it was like rubber. The mac and cheese had a sweet flavor, that we could not figure out, until we found candied yams at the bottom. Greens were over seasoned. The fish was good as always, hence the 3 star rating.Will no longer order shrimp though.

The food is excellent! Not over seasoned and well prepared portions for the price. Great customer service. I highly recommend the fried chicken. It is very light and crispy and not too greasy. My favorite meal is the fried tilapia with cabbage, yams, and cornbread.

I haven't been to Funderburk's in many months. I went by today b/c I was craving soul food. I asked if the potatoe salad was made in house or if it was purchased and resold. I was told it was made in house, well it didn't taste homemade; it tasted store bought. My turkey wing was dried out however, the cabbage and cornbread were good. I'll give Funderburk's another try, but I was a bit disappointed today.

First time trying Funderburks was today. The cashier was so sweet. The environment was friendly & very welcoming. Reasonable prices & service was fast. That Mac & cheese is so good. I love their lemonade. Only thing I didn’t really like was the meatloaf but everything else was delicious.

I tried Funderburk's Cafe and Catering for the first time today. I had the whiting fish, mac & cheese, fried okra and cornbread meal. The okra and fish were both fried to perfection. Overall, I'd say the meal hit the spot.

Today was my first time trying Funderburks and I must say it was awesome. My husband and I had the White fish, collard greens, mac & cheese, yams and cornbread. Customer service was great, food is reasonably priced and portion size is good. O yeah did I forget to mention the food was GREAT. Very flavorful and filling. My husband and I will definitely be going back.

Soul food/ home cooking: Nice family setting. Small seating area. Great customer service. The staff was very helpful with questions regarding the menu items. Not Happy with: I ordered to go. My food (vegetable plate) was put in small paper bowls And then placed in a Styrofoam to go box. The Bowles were not coverd. Juice from; green (alright) & sweet potatoes (great taste) spilled in box. Macaroni and cheese was no cheesy to me. Red Velvet cake: I asked was it homemade? The gentleman said "yes", all of the baked goods were. NOT! The frosting was from a shelf (trust me I know). The cake was boxed and someone tried to doctor it up-;adding extra ingredients. I may try them again. I like to support local business ~Enjoy!

My family had the whiting plates, rib plates, and cake. We were all satisfied with our food and the price of the food. It is average soul food but what won me over is the cleanliness of the restaurant. Unfortunately alot of soul food places I've been to are old and dingy. The place does fill up quick because there is limited seating.

The first time I went there someone introduced me to the place. The food was good. I went back again with that same person and the food was still good. I decided to take a friend of mine there because I thought the food was good and wanted her to try it, she were disappointed and so was I. We both enjoyed their fish (nice side Crockers) but their side dishes were not good at all. I decided to go back by myself to try them again. I went back for the Crockers and decided to try completely different side dishes. They were out of Crocker so I decided to get the fish the kind of fish they had which turned out to be smaller. The sides were still not good. I dont know if the staff changed or what happened. I probably will go back for yhe Crockers but I know I have to go earlier before they run out. It a restaurant were they serve different food until it runs out then they take it off the menu.
