REVIEWS OF Casa Fox Catering IN New York

I love this cozy and inviting restaurant! There is rarely a night that Melissa, the owner chef, isn't there to welcome you with a big smile and great recommendations that never miss.

Nancy Dahl

Came here for an anniversary dinner. Wonderful chorizo and empanadas!

George Dimov

Fantastic food - I had the carne asada with beans and salad. The food was unique and the meat was very tender and juicy. The portion was not overwhelming and the quality superb. I highly recommend and will be back to try their other menu items. The interior decor was also fantastic. For desert, I tried my fiend's tres leches, which was delicious. I had the chocolate empanadas with caramel dip.

Anthony Lavall

I picked this almost at random but I will most certainly be going again. Don't let the humble interior fool you, the food is some of the best I have had in NY. Went on Valentines day for the prix fixe menu and it was superb, from the Chipotle Butternut Squash Soup to the Passionfruit Cheesecake... absolutely incredible.

Georges Kazan

Very noisy and tables are very close to each other. Maybe the food is good but the ambiance doesn't give you the chance to try it properly.

Kamila E. Sip

It is a small place with very nice food, very warm decor and great drinks! Great for a date! I will be coming back :-)

Warm, charming, great food, love the fireplace.

Lorena Machado

Good for small groups. The clay pots were OK, nothing remarkable. The place is nicely decorated. I'd go for the tapas.

Michael Smith

The food is delicious. Just as good are the ambiance and experience. The owner is so welcoming. She came by our table several times to tell us about the dishes and the restaurant and just to chat a bit. If you're looking for somewhere to eat on the Lower East Side, I would definitely recommend A Casa Fox.

Excellent Food! This restaurant is one of the best Latin-American style restaurants I've been in NYC. Both the variety and quality of the food make it one of my favorite spots to eat. Whether a celebratory birthday party with friends, a romantic dinner or a casual one, A Casa Fox meets your every need. I would - and have - recommended this restaurant to anyone who enjoys eating well, and for a very good price-to-quality ratio.

I don’t check out restaurants in the Lower East Side enough. A Casa Fox lies in that neighborhood. Trying to keep my record for winning restaurants choices; I choose A Casa Fox for a group birthday dinner. The group was immediately smitten with the place. A cozy restaurant with rustic décor and a lovely fireplace a blazing on the evening we were there in a dimly candle lit set the right mood. Intimate but casual. The host and server was friendly, giving good suggestions on food choices. We got 8 small plates and several clay pot entrees to share. Everything came out well plated. The appetizer on rustic wooden cutting boards and the clay pot entrees well in clay pots. The Chorizo with bacon was a hit as was risotto croquettes. Shoot everything that came out was a hit. There was no one hit wonders at this table. the The only gripe is I wished the entrees was a bit larger or the price. On the whole Casa fox is a foxy place. Alluring Ambiance, Pulchritudinous interior, and Pleasing food was bewitching. We will certainly be after experiencing her sultry call.

Most amazing place ever! Chef is wonderful and great! My family and I walked in searching for a unique place to eat. THIS IS IT! She made us dishes that was not on the menu. Everything based off our likings. I give every dish a 5 out of 5. I will be back the next time I am in the city. Support local!

I don't understand all the good reviews. We went last night and should have been worried when there were only three people in the place at 9pm on a Thursday. There was one server working, who was half asleep and we could hardly get him to look at us. The food was bad...not meh but actually lousy. Shrimp was overcooked beyond believe. Chicken was disgusting. Portions were tiny. Everything we had was consistently bad, as if no one at the restaurant cared about the quality of the food, the service or anything else. This place is a loser in every way. The other reviews must be old or fake.

Best empanadas I've eaten. Check. DELICIOUS skirt steak with avocado and heart of palm. Check. Intimate setting with REAL burning fireplace where you only hear the person you are eating with and not the person next to you who at a lot of places is seated practically in your lap. (That means you, Meatball Shop.) Check. GO HERE! IT'S GREAT! The staff was really friendly too. We didn't drink wine (I'm temporarily on the wagon) but the list looked good too. :D

Lara Ruth Ziobro

Cute candelit spot in the Lower East Side. Fabulous assortment of tapas and larger dishes. The garlic shrimp and rice was my favorite. Their fried manchego cheese is a must, as is their white sangria.

Zeno Lee

The tapas are above average. When the restaurant first opened, they had BYOB. I felt like the food was better back then. I came recently and the food was OK, I shared some tapas with friends, but the shrimp in garlic oil was too lemony. They have a decent selection of wine and cocktails. I'll come back and try a big dinner and I may edit this review after then.

The food was amazing, atmosphere was great! The service was quick and very professional. One of the best South American/Central American tapas style restaurants I've been in New York City. I loved ordering many different plates, and sharing it with friends and family. The rice and beans brought out vivid memories of my upbringing in Brasil, and the Empanadas were just incredible. I would definitely recommend it to all of my friends!

Hank Offinger

totally delicious food, and a really homey, inviting atmosphere. the chef is a sweetheart, who really cares about making you feel taken care of. this place is a real find.

Patrick O'Connor

Having traveled to S. America, this is authentic Latin American cuisine. A Casa Fox is creative while staying true to Latin themes and the atmosphere is is one of dining with a bunch of friends. The chorizo stuffed dates are addictive and the costillas de cerdo were incredible. The fireplace also adds a unique element not found in other restaurants and the staff is very attentive. Melissa Fox has a gem!
