Came last year for the all you can eat haddock and my husband had the clams...a Friday night feast. This time we both had the all you can eat clams. Nice smaller sizes clams, which I prefer as I'm not a big fan of large bellies. Clams were delicious, first order was a bit dark for my taste but upon speaking to waitress my next order was.mych better. We skipped lunch in order to enjoy this treat.

We ordered the Prime Rib dinner and the Balsamic Chicken. The Prime Rib was ordered medium well but came as medium rare. It was sent back to the kitchen to cook further. The Prime Rib was flavorless. No seasonings or Au Jus. The garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli were bland as well. The Balsamic Chicken had good flavor but the chicken was a little dry. No vegetable was served with that dinner. There's a window into the kitchen and I noticed that the cooks were handling food without gloves. The service was good and the decor very nice but the food was disappointing. We probably won't return.

Out of the abundance of places to eat in Laconia, this one seems the most pricey so far. The food was good, but there are too many options on the menu. They could cut it in half and still have a good selection. If you don't mind spending more and having a bunch of options, then this place isn't bad.

Went this morning and after waiting an hour and 25 minutes for our food mine came out cold and husbands luke warm. I informed the waitress but nothing was done about it. I have 2 stars because I've been here before and the food was pretty good. Not sure what happened today but I left hungry because eating cold eggs benedict is not appealing.

I have come the this restaurant twice in the 6 years I have lived here. Both times disappointed. The first time I got the florentine omelet it was somewhat bland had a little flavor and cold. But didnt complain, ate my meal because my boyfriend loves this place. The second time was a few weeks ago. Went with a friend. Got the veggie omelet. Again it was cold but the middle of it was warm. I had gotten the sweet potato hashbrowns which was an upcharge. The waitress came back and asked if everything was fine we said it was ok. Now I hadn't touched my hashbrowns yet when she came to the table. So when I did get to them the were stone cold and and raw! My friend and I complained to the waitress and all we got was a I'm sorry and she walked away. Went and found someone to complain and then the manager was coming out of a meeting. She came over and asked what the complaint was. I told her my hashbrowns were cold and raw. She said well the waitress had come back and tou said it was ok I said yes because I hadn't touched my hashbrowns yet. She said well did she offer a replacement or a refund i said no. I said I dont mind pay for what I ate which was just the omelet, but I am not gonna pay for raw food that I didnt eat or even got replaced. And all i get is a sorry? NO!!! The manager only refunded the upcharge for the sweet potato hashbrowns. So I paid full price for an entire meal and only got to eat my omelet. ITS SAD! Now mind you the flavors are good in the omelets I had on these 2 occasions. That's why they get the 2 stars.

Was in town visiting wanted a hearty breakfast at a clean establishment. Got the prime rib and eggs special, very good, could use a little more seasoning but still excellent for the price. Every table was full with multiple people, could boost the waiting staff or get more efficient. Would recommend and go back.

Both were top tier as these dishes go. Big menu! It will take a few more visits to really shake out the place.

I have been here a couple of times. The food on the first night was just horrible. The waitress has no clue about the menu. The prime rib was the worst that I have ever had. It seems like it was cooked the day before and then refrigerated. The slice I received seems old and the fatty portion was cold. The prime rib is just like it was under heated out of the refrigerator. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and tried the place again. This time for breakfast. Nothing has changed! The food and service was again horrible. There are many good restaurants in the area and this is NOT one of them.

Food here is great and the location is easy. One issue is that the service can be painfully slow. If you don’t have a time constraint it is not an issue, but it takes a while, so be patient.

No. DO NOT GO THERE, if you expect a hot meal or a server that will attend to your table. I went there for breakfast and it took 10 minutes to get the first cup of coffee. Refills were laughable, as well as a server who cared about your meal. She was however prompt in bringing the bill. The tiny tip should be enough to tell her to step out, and find another vocation.

I've been to this cafe twice, and I absolutely love the omelettes with a side of scalloped potatoes. There is not much of waiting involved, even on the weekends. I ordered the veggie omelette with sourdough bread, and it was delicious.

I may be the odd man out but I didnt like the pulled pork omelet. In addition to a weird taste, all the omelets I saw were overcooked. The predominant egg color shouldn't ever be brown. Wish I had looked around before I ordered.

Great spot for either traditional cafe dining or a unique dish that is always delicious. It’s one of the only places open throughout the weekdays as well. I’ve had the sweet potato waffle and now prefer them over regular waffles. Enjoy!

Very disappointed in the amount of food that we received today. My Brother and I bought the sausage and gravy, with scramble eggs and beans. the amount of eggs were about 2 tablespoons in sizeand the amount of gravy would just about cover the small biscuit. Normally they serve a fantastic breakfast. Maybe they just ran short of things since it is labor day weekend

The service was very good, our waiter was pleasant and fast. My food, not so much. The coleslaw was browned and tasted awful, I suspect it was rotten. The fries were good and the haddock tasted good but the texture was not right. I am worried because my stomach does not feel good now. Ending on a more pleasant note my appetizer, buffalo chicken, was very good.

Used to come here for great breakfast but today learned a new scam that they appear to be utilizing. Put bottles of NH maple syrup on each table. When you open it to use the waitress tells you that they are just for sale not for use. (No there was no other syrup on the table and YES this IS a breakfast place). A $13 mistake. The for sale sticker on the bottle doesn't mention it isn't for use by patrons. One might rightly assume it was ALSO available for purchase if you liked it. Guess not!!! Don't get caught in the same trap!!

I had Water Street Cafe's veggie burger and fries for lunch, which was the first and only thing I'd eaten that day. Although it seemed typical diner quality at the time, I was horribly sick to my stomach for hours and hours after. You don't often hear of vegetarian meals giving stomach bugs either. Will not give it another try as the place doesn't offer anything special. As far as service, It took about five minutes for anyone to acknowledge me in the first place, and that was after I found menus myself. A waitress found it more important to fill the sugar packet box sitting next to me than acknowledge I was there.

We stopped in for dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the friendly service. My father in law was eager to go for the prime rib and it did not disappoint. Awesome is the only word he had for it! The all you can eat Fried Haddock was another stand out. My husband had the lamb which was done to perfection. This is by far one of the BEST restaurants in the Lakes region.

Went for dinner with family on a Friday and, it was so good, we returned Saturday morning for breakfast. Absolutely delicious. Recommend the lobster mac and seafood casserole. Breakfast menu has all the usuals, of course, but also some amazing takes on eggs bene and omelets. Omelet topped with sausage gravy was amazing as well as biscuits and gravy Benedict. Pesto Benedict (special) was outstanding as well. Bacon Bloody Marys were perfectly spiced. Location is clean and bright and the waitstaff an absolute pleasure. Fun and friendly. Will absolutely return to the Water Street Cafe. Often!

A quick stop here on the trip from NH to VT for breakfast. A cozy little place with good food, friendly staff and decorative little plane models hanging from the ceiling. With the CAFÉ SPECIAL BREAKFAST (2 Eggs, 2 Pancakes, 2 Strips of Bacon and 2 Sausage Links Toast, Coffee or Tea and Small Juice) you can't go wrong. Simple yet delicious...and for my pancakes I added bananas and pecans, what a delight.

Decent place to eat and seems to be somewhat of the gathering place for locals. Fairly busy for a restaurant not on the main drag. Plus is that they have a full liquor license. Food is okay. Haven't been overly impressed with what I've gotten, though; poutine, and for breakfast, sweet potato hash browns , which sounded good but didn't equal my expectations as they were not done, nor were they "browned." But then, as I said it seems to be a fairly busy place when it is open, which is for breakfast and lunch most days and dinner on Friday nights
