Delicious! Anytime I am in another city I try to support local businesses. This did not disappoint. The young waitress (I can't remember her name but she's in medical school) was professional, attentive and very polite. The food was fresh and hot. I normally don't eat leftovers but that was my memorial day snack lol. Whenever I return to St.Louis I will be back.

This restaurant is very quite, it’s a block from the city museum. I wanted to try everything , wats a soul food restaurant with great side. I felt like macaroni & cheese was not baked just made on stove with lots of cheese it was good, the corn bread dressing I didn’t care for, maybe it was the cornbread they used. The sweet potatoes were good but the greens were bitter the chicken was excellent. Would I go here again maybe but only for the chicken

First time here. Food was good wish I had more than 1 pork chop though. Had to nix dressing and gravy or otherwise it will be dry. Sweet potatoes was amazing!!! Will definitely comeback and bring my family next time!!

To Whom This Matter Concerns at Gourmet Soul: No matter how delicious your food is, and I’ll give you that, it’s delicious but… a nasty attitude goes a long way! Word if mouth is everything . All one has to do is tell two people and they tell two people is it’s out there that the food is great but the attitude is not. When someone calls and places an order and attempts to pay by phone, the professional and courteous response is, “sorry, but we don’t take payments by phone” not, “we are not Doordash, you pay when you get here!” How rude! Take into consideration that you are being patronized first off, and second the person(s) are attempting to pay you in advance, regardless to whether it’s your policy not to accept pay by phone. There’s a better delivery than what was received. Several of us thought this would be our lunch spot, as we have ordered every other day from the first time we had it. However, I guess you can add humble pie to your dessert menu, as we have discussed taking our lunch business elsewhere from this day forward. Tootles…………….. Saw a posting of this restaurant by one of my Instagram friends. Finally got a chance to visit. It was small and intimate like I like my restaurants. Very clean and the staff were very friendly and sociable. The food was seasoned really good but I'mma have to revisit. They say the 2nd time is a charm. I'm raised by a Mississippi family so I'm tuff on soul food. Especially when it comes to my macaroni. The owner was there and she has a great personality definitely interact with her customers.

Adorable little restaurant with good food and great prices. The service was somewhat lacking when we visited (lunch-time on a Thursday) but we were the only one's in there and they were clearly preparing for some kind of event. I expect dinnertime would be a better time to eat here.

Such a good soul food restaurant in St. Louis. I was in St. Louis for business and stumbled across this gem. I got the fried fish with sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese and dressing. Soooo good and the portions are enough for leftovers. The customer service was on point, food came out fast, hot and fresh. The dressing had a tad too much sage for me, but was still really good! Will definitely be back every time I'm in STL.

So disappointed. I was loving this place. I would eat here once or twice a week. Fish and yams were great. Fried chicken and fruit salad was really good, until last week. For starters I called ahead of time for my plate and girls a time frame. Got to the restaurant and had to wait another 35 mins, that i didnt have. Hot back to work, and my fish was slightly under cooked and my yams were moosh. I was very unhappy but put it off to them being overly busy. So I went back today and ordered the "Fried" chicken and fruit salad, that was delicious last time I had it. Very fresh with blackened, flavorful chicken on top. Well that didnt happen again. Today, my salad was still fresh, but what I hot for chicken was chicken that ooked boiled and maybe lightly grilled. It was in very tiny pieces and packaged on the side. It looked horrible, and tasted the same. And I really liked this place.

Recently at a rehearsal dinner on 4/29/16. The food "ALL OF IT" was outstanding. Had greens, mac & cheese, smothered pork chops, yams, catfish fillets etc. etc. Customer service was superior. Atmosphere warm and friendly. A "must" to check out.

We had lunch there. We ordered baked chicken,fried fish , and smothered pork chop all with a side of greens and cornbread.The food was served hot and fresh in less than 30 minutes of taking our order. The chicken was seasoned perfectly . The fish was hot and very tasty. The pork chop was fork tender, effortless to chew and off the chain good! The collard greens and cornbread remind me of my Meemaw's.
