Food is only ever decent when visitors are known to be at the school and otherwise ranges from terrible to inducing food poisoning. The on campus students are required to buy the meal-plans which are overpriced and unusable when chart chartwells suddenly closes for days to over a week at a time near holidays and spring break, leaving most stranded on campus students without a food source unless they have extra money. I've seen a plethora of health violations including unclean dishes, hair in food, moldy salad bar greens and the occasional roach but nothing will change because there's no alternatives for a lot of people so why bother.

Chartwells is.... An experience, and not a good one. The food is often not cooked fully cooked, but still served, like this chicken. There was also an instance when a steak had blue on it? They also very often serve old food that isn't good anymore. It's just not good. The only thing that is consistently okay are the sandwiches, their breakfast foods, and the chef's corner when they make grilled cheese. If you didn't have the meal plan you wouldn't miss out on anything. TLDR; Chartwells=bad, hit or miss/okay at best.

The Nutella bagels are high quality. The bacon doesn't even try to be real. The only rock is the soup/sandwich combo. The guy with the beard makes the best sandwiches.

One of the worst dining experiences I have had. Painfully inconsistent and poor planning by the managers. The claim is that they listen to their customers, but that's pretty far from reality. Only choice for most students, so there is very little effort put into anything they do, because "why bother?" NMT is in need of a different meal contractor.

High end catering! You can't get classier than chartwells catering for any and all of your gathering needs. From very affordable themed buffets to appetizers and trays for meetings, office patties and conferences. Their full service caring includes linens, China, flatware and professional servers. They are the antithesis of gourmet catering in Socorro.

Bad food for price. Requires students who live in dorms to purchase a majority of meals there. Many instances of people getting sick from their food. Only saving grace is service from the employees. I would rate employees 5 stars.

I struggle to describe the disaster that is Chartwells. It is truly unfortunate that anyone living on campus at NMT is forced into buying their meal plan. More often that not, I found the vast majority of what they served to be inedible. Many days, I ended up eating only french fries as that seemed to be the only thing Chartwells could consistently manage not to mess up, everything else being a complete waste of good ingredients. While managing to greatly over-season some dishes they simultaneously under-seasoned many as well; I cannot comprehend how. My disappointment at Chartwells' usual lack of fresh fruit most days was matched only by the presence of terribly inedible produce when actually offered. It's as if someone went to a grocery store, picked out all the rejected fruit and then sent it to Chartwells. I also contracted food poisoning at Chartwells three times in two semesters. Avoid any chicken if at all possible as they often manage to under-cook it. I would have avoided eating here more if it weren't for the fact that I was required to buy a meal plan and had no kitchen in my dorm.

I have lived on campus for two years. Chartwells at its very best is an overpriced restaurant that serves poor quality food, as the only dining on campus you would think that they strive to make their food affordable and good. This is exactly the opposite. Students who live on campus are forced to buy a meal plan which are extremely overpriced for the quality of food produced. To make matters worse if you try to eat on the weekends, the food is of an even lower quality, the staff even less unhelpful, and half of the food is simply pulled from the leftovers earlier in the week. I have gotten food poisoning three times in 2019 alone and it’s only April. If you have the choice to afford the less expensive meal plans and eat off campus the rest of the time I highly recommend it.

The food is decent enough but it's too expensive. For on school activities, we have to have them charter for us and it's crazy expensive like 13 dollars a plate. It forces us to do activities off campus

They are the food provider for my daughter's school customer service is great the food is so so. Salad bar should be main focus and they need to get rid of all the unhealthy snacks and sugar filled drinks.

Very poor service, for very high prices. Chartwells runs all the food at SEMO, and does a poor job of it. There is never enough employees or food to get everyone served. They also forbid meal plans being used past 8 PM, which is very inconvenient for college students.The cheap, low quality food is not worth the struggle or the price.
