First time going to Romies tonight was made memorable by the great service and kind staff... "Bree", our server, was the nicest waitress that I've ever had in a restaurant. Her going the extra mile to describe the menu items, and interest in engaging in conversation, made my party and I feel very welcomed. Also, the food was delicious! From the appetizers, to the main course, and even the sauces were seasoned perfectly. I will definitely be returning to Romies again as long as the atmosphere and service is available that I experienced this evening. Thanks, Romies!

The food was good, but I showed up just after the lunch rush and my service left something to be desired. My waitress seemingly forgot about me after getting my drink, then one of my sides had been forgotten when I finally got my food. I never saw my waitress again to mention it to her. Also, my chair was wobbly.

Romie's was an unexpected surprise. We were traveling between Birmingham and Memphis and needed a lunch spot. Tupelo was the right timing and Romie's turned out to be the right place. They are a casual old time cafe serving some really good southern food. Everything was cooked properly and very well prepared. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. It appears to be a local favorite. If you're passing through, skip Cracker Barrell and upgrade to real southern cooking. Don't forget the banana pudding. The serving size is a little small, but the flavor is really big!

After being seated and waiting 15 minutes had to ask for a waitress, then had to wait another 5 minutes for her to show up. Restaurant was not busy, 3 to 4 young girls hung out at the register laughing and playing on their phone. Catfish was extremely over cooked, another dish was served with a warm entree and cold sides.

Great homestyle southern specialties. We arrived with a very large Party that was handled well. All enjoyed their meal. I had fried catfish accompanied by fried green tomatoes and hush puppies. Selections change daily.

Serving staff needs some serious training, a smack on the head, or just flat out fired. Three hours we were there listening to our friends band and not once did the server attend to our table. I had to go to the bar and get the drinks myself. I may return but only to see the band, if they ever play there again. But not for the food and definitely not for the service. These clowns should be ashamed.

We went to eat dinner and were told we would have to wait 20 minutes more to order off of the dinner menu, they were still serving lunch at 4:40 pm...i can deal with that but the same waitress that told us we had to wait turned around and handed dinner menus to a party of 12 people seated next to us. Seems arbitrary to me plus she was rude to boot. The food was ok, seems a bit over priced for the portion. I have eaten there before and it was better all around. Definitely unimpressive, we will not be dining there again, too many other choices.

If any of you have worked in the fast food industry or mechanic shops, you know the floors can get a little greasy in kitchen or the shop. That's how their dining room felt like, a greasy, slimy, slip and slide. It was gross. I know it comes from improper floor cleaning when closing. That tile can't be greasy. A young woman in heels or elder person etc can get hurt very badly. The food was great, but I'm folks a safety violations is an automatic fail. I'm sure management will see this and straighten it out because it was a nice atmosphere. Plenty of parking, outside patio, even a band. Food was hot, cooked correctly and arrived in a timely manner and we were in a party of +15.

Romies used to be one of my favorite places, but I've been really disappointed lately. I placed a to go order the other day, and whoever packed it just threw it together, forgetting a couple of things. The person at the front noticed one thing was missing, but I got back and didn't have any salad dressing for my salad. For a $12 salad, I feel like it should've been done right. I messaged them on Facebook just to let them politely know and I didn't hear back. We've been disappointed in the service lately too. I really hate it but I probably will not be back to Romies for a while..
