Everything I got delicious. A little more salt than I like, but I don't eat a lot of salt, sooo, for anyone else it probably is just right. Quick and courteous service. The only thing I had a problem with, I was charged $2.69 for a glass of water. I will be going back.

Ruined my husband and I first father’s day. Called ahead to place my order and spoke to two of the cashier after being placed on hold for 7 minutes finally placed my order waited 15 minutes my husband then drove to pick up our order only to be told after he stood there and waited that “oh we ain’t got no steaks” I should’ve been told this once I placed my order over the phone. Called and spoke to a manager she informed me someone would be getting back with me 10 days later still no call back. Thanks for ruining our first father’s day. Never again.

On the fence, so I will update my review after a second chance. We paid about $20 per person (for a decent amount of food. Anything less would've never done our tummies justice). For less, Country Fisherman is better - in my opinion. My brother had the pork chops, but he couldn't eat it because he said it was basically a very thin chop with a whole LOT of flour (had to take him somewhere else to get full). The breading was too think. Would be nice if the mac n cheese was cooked more to southern perfection. Can we get some baked mac? Husband did love the liver, and that's usually a hit or miss with him. Again, I will try it one more time.

Don't let the looks of the food mislead you! I've had 2 experiences at Luby's and both were nasty. The cabbages were hard and tasted like plastic. The liver was tolerable but my children both hated the catfish. The rice and gravy was plain. Our desserts tasted like they came out of a cardboard box after being refrozen. I once went with my cousin and she and I both didn't like the food but I gave it another try. I'll probably never go back. I paid over $15 per person for cold, nasty, hard food. I even got charged .39 for 1 olive. It looks appetizing but I'd rather have KFC instead.

The food was fair. The liver and onions was loaded with too much gravy, covering the lack of liver. The serving of cornbread dressing brought to the table was luke warm and was sent back for another one with heat.. Then we were told that was the last serving. It was only 1130 am. The rest of the food was tasty but not hot. And all the food was brought to the table after we were seated because the liver and onions weren't ready. We had a five minute wait. We asked if we could get the sides with the entree so they would be hot. And they were not hot. We ate at Luby's ate least twice a month when they opened then stopped because the good is good but never hot. I hadn't been there in a year. I'll try again though.

What is good: the quality of the food, the selections of salad fixings, the dessert selection. What is not quite there are the portions served, especially by newer counter servers, lack of salsa (it goes too fast), the lack of prepared fish (not everyone eats fried catfish). Now what needs to improve. The servers should get better, the portions need to be more meal sized, and they need to have at least some baked fish ready. I know in the past it seemed they wasted too much food. Possibly so, but the portions were better. The counter staff need to be made more aware of the offerings and whatever specials they might have later in the day or the week. And they need be more observant to notice something like lack of tarter sauce, lack of lemon for the tea, or low ice. The staff are friendly enough, but they are young and don't realize that a good staff, from cooks to servers to cleanup, are usually remembered by customers who have many other food options to pick from. I will continue to eat there since i enjoy the fish when it is available, and their chicken fried chicken is very large and very tender (well cooked too) and only hope that management will take my suggestions to heart.

Luby’s catered a birthday celebration for a member of my family. We worked with the new management staff, with Austin, as the lead. The experience was the best we have had. A number of other caterers were considered, but for our budget, Luby’s was the best and most reasonable in regards to price per person and menu choices. On the day of the event the quantity, quality and temperature of the food was unbelievable. All of our guests were so pleased and very complimentary. We also had 2 servers who were very responsive to our guests. We were able to entertain and converse with our guests. Luby’s catering, you get our business every time. No complaints, only compliments. Thanks for a job well done.

I ordered a rib eye steak, medium well. I had to send it back because it was not hot at all. It took them about 37 minutes to bring it to me. By the time I had finished my 2 sides and bread. Staff was nice. Food want the best... First time coming here.

I had to come all the way to Jackson to enjoy Luby's, and it was well worth the trip. They continue to have delicious lunch and dinner options, most comfort food, but also with tempting desserts. My favorite dessert throughout the years has been the Lemon Icebox Pie, and it still doesn't disappoint. I will have to come down again to enjoy another dinner with friends.

This is my mother's favorite place to eat. She really enjoyed the graham cracker cheesecake. My father and I had the fried catfish. The catfish was very good. My mother had liver and the portion size was excellent. She wasn't able to eat all of her food. My favorite entree is the Salisbury steak. The atmosphere of this location is very friendly and inviting. Selina was a great server with a beautiful smile.

Veggies needed salt, a tad oily. Liver and onions were fine, but not a fan of the sweet beef gravy. That kinda threw me off for a second. I'd suggest getting it on the side. Liver isn't grilled, it's slightly breaded fried. Service was great though! Everyone was real friendly and welcoming.

My husband, a family friend and myself visited Luby's this past weekend. We found it on Google Maps as we were traveling through Mississippi. It was our first time there and the food was delicious. The servings were generous and the the food was not overpriced. We will definitely visit this restaurant again soon!

I visited one day right after the lunch rush I guess. I had my lap top with me and I wanted to catch up on some emails and enjoy a nice quiet lunch. For whatever reason there was a group of employees laughing loudly, telling off colored jokes and discussing weekend plans and hanging out around the register area goofing off. I felt like I was in a hole in the wall club or something. Ask them to tone it down please. Its not a good look.

But it's all in small batches and it doesn't sit there for a long time so it's not like it's going to spoil I would just prefer it to be warmer than it is when it's served.

This was the worst food in Jackson . Cafeteria for sure. I would have been happier at McDonalds. I got a southern fried pork chop that was harder than a hockey puck. The gravy was ICE cold. The baked chicken was tasteless and the macaroni n cheese was pale and mushy! Awful! Total cost was 20 bucks and we left the food and walked out! Dont DONT DO NOT EAT HERE!

I've been there during the week and the food was always good and I experienced great service, but I will never go back on a Sunday afternoon. The service was horrible. They really need busboys and better management. Plates and dishes were stacked on everyone's table and people had to clear some of the tables on their own. My fried chicken wasn't fully cooked and we had to wait forever for our drinks.

The service on July 17th was worse than awful. The food and servers were spot on. However our waitress was not customer or gender friendly. We weren't given any opportunity to ask for extra napkins, then we had to request the manager in order to get a cup of hot tea made. Our waitress seemed to gravitate toward all the male customers, and it really didn't Dawn on me until we found ourselves through the whole meal trying to find her...only to see her going to all the tables around that seated the male customers??? I've never seen anything like this and felt awful because I was having lunch with one of the owners of the company of which I am employed . She was ignored at every attempt to get the waitress attention to the point I had to get up from the table and ask another employee for assistance. In really couldn't enjoy the food because of the incredibly poor customer service. And was outdone because on previous visits the service was outstanding. We got table checks frequently to see if we needed anything. I only hope this young lady is a hrly employee because she missed out on the opportunity to receive an *awesome* tip and has instead garnered poor review that reflects on her training; and I'm sure is not the mission of Lubys Corporation?

when my family and I went to Lubys Friday night the food was horrible. My husband and my sister chose the turkey necks, the server had just put the meat on the line so we assumed they were fresh and hot. They were cold, we asked our waitress to take them back, instead she warmed them in a microwave. We also ordered mashed potatoes, Lima beans stewed tomatoes and cabbage, all were cold and too salty. We felt that our integrity was questioned by the General Manager Austin, who stated that he just checked the vegetables and they were piping hot with the exception of the tomatoes and okra. The waitress even agreed that they were cold. I was very offended by that remark . We have been a Lubys customer for 25 years and have never encountered this type of attitude, totall disrespect and confrontation from a manager. We will never eat at another lubys location again based on the actions of your manager. This was Friday evening between 6:30 and 7:00 pm and there were only 2 other tables that were seated, the last time we came here the placed was packed around this time. That should have told us not to go in. VERY DISAPPOINTING VISIT.
