I had an surprisingly excellent meal at American. I was not expecting this as we arrived late in the evening just 45 minutes prior to their closing time. I ordered the dinner salad that had goat cheese and roasted red peppers with mixed green. I added the salmon and ordered it medium rare so it would be soft and flake apart with a vinegar dressing and class of pinot. The salmon was cooked to perfection with flavorful crust and soft flaky interior. The wine was good and the service was excellent. Even though we came in late we were never rushed. I plan on returning to try other items.

I have never experienced such exceptional services like I have tonight 1/23/2018...my Server was the best I ever had! The restaurant is the best in Mississippi hands down....I have always by passed this place; the scenery is above expectations the atmosphere is a plus...I have found my new love! And the dimed lights oh how I love it all !! I even gave my 1st tip of $10 lol I never tipped over $2 if I had $100 I would've gave it away to my Server !

Amerigos is our usual Thursday night dinner. We have been eating here for years. The staff is super friendly and professional. We go during the early bird. The bread is so yummy, and the pasta is always good. Chicken fettuccine, Lasagna, any of the salads, and the steak are my go to! You can’t beat the quality for the price!

I've lived in several states in different regions of the country. I've been to Italian places from $6 Fazoli's combos to higher quality cuisine, but... None, not a single restaurant, has had the quality of food that this Amerigo location had. Service was sublime, atmosphere was wonderful. I believe it's my favorite spot in all of the Jackson metro.

This is my/my husband's favorite Italian place. We've been in the area for over 3yrs and have been back repeatedly with positive experiences. One time my husband had leftovers boxed up and later found a few pieces of plastic in the food. We let them know and were immediately respectfully apologized to and taken care of. Always had great customer service. We love the free bread and oil. Highly recommend the artichoke appetizer, the salads, and the three cheese tortellini. We always get at least 2 meals out of Amerigo's servings!

Our waitress I think her name was Jennifer was just off the chain.. when the gentleman that was gonna be our waiter at first came and told us that he's abiut to get off but that we wouod be in good hands with her. I mean that was just being sincere respecting us showing us that someone would be there to to get our order and if we have any questions she would be right there. This was my husband and my first time. And we were very pleased with the hospitality shown from staff and great food.. Happy..Happy.. I mean WE WERE HAPPY!

I have been to this Italian restaurant twice within 3 weeks. The bread and oil is delicious! Add a little salt and pepper and it's even better. Everyone is well mannered and the service is great. They also have early bird discounts between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. for individuals who eat dinner early. It has a white table feel and can be quite elegant if you come to get dinner at night

Firstly, service was horrible last night. Waiter was not attentive and even after mentioning we wanted parmesean, before ordering, when ordering and 2 more times after we got our food we never got parmesean. Secondly, is it a company policy now where they dont celebrate birthdays with a complimentary dessert. I mean they cant even give a cup of whipped cream without having to purchase it? We had to spend $5 so a hard "brownie" could be served with melted icecream. Yes we paid for this brick! This is the second amerigos that does this. I guess im catching the trend. We will not be celebrating birthdays here now. I mean come on management, thats the least you couldve done to make your guest feel welcomed especially after ignoring them. Too busy, too chaotic, not great service. And besides the cheese tortelli with crab, all the other meals we had yesterday-crawfish oasta, mushroom ravioli, penne and even brick hard pizza were unflavored and runny. It was poor service, poor quality today.

My wife and I had Sunday brunch at Amerigo and it was fantastic. I had the cedar plank pork chop, which was outstanding. My wife had the crab cake eggs Benedict and loved it. We also had bloody Mary’s which were out of this world. Highly recommend.

I haven't been in the Jackson area very long, but this is the best Italian food I've found. I ordered the chicken marsala, and it came out perfectly. I feel like they have put too many tables inside, so it feels a bit crowded. But the service was good and so was the food.

Went with my work buddies last night.....dim lighting, delicious Italian food. Got the mozzarella basilico salad with salmon. The mozzarella was really fresh and the balsamic vinaigrette was good. The real star of the dish was the pesto.....so authentic. Best pesto I had in my life. Then my friend insisted I try the tiramisu.....got one for the table.....no words to explain the taste of tiramisu....heavenly. Such a romantic dessert! Will have to come back here to eat the tiramisu again with my hubby. The warm brownie with butter pecan ice cream was awesome too even though I'm not a huge chocolate fan.

The food was lukewarm, partly because I stood there for several minutes as numerous hostesses walked by. I truly dont mind a wait, but whenever someone comes to you and offers you a unsolicited free drink... its perhaps not all in my head. I'm probably overreacting though. I ordered the chicken parm to go. I'd give it 3 out of 5; glad I paid with a gift card.

If you remember Amerigos back in the day then you know they were great. I ordered calamari which are now ring shaped which at first it was baby squid w legs. No flavor but the sauce dip for it is still good. But it mind blew me when I ordered shrimp scampi. It was regular $1 noodles instead of real angel hair pasta. Barely any sauce over pasta with 4 big shrimp. I was so displeased

Lunch with my only son. Lunch was great as always my only problem was the waiter appeared to prefer not to serve African Americans. Yes I am a faithful customer of amerigo I'm at one of their location at least 3times weekly and a great tipper nothing under 10 dollars. I have never been so offended in my life. I have always received only the best service at amerigo and to have my food almost thrown to me and to be totally overlooked for an hour .I had to ask for bread yes bread that's comes out with or before drinks as I am used to. I did request another waiter and was very pleased at the end of my lunch.

Worst food ever. On top of the, the vent system didn't seem to work. After dining, I walked out of the dining room smelling like I have been working as fry cook for 9 hours in the kitchen. The seating were so close together as I can hear the conversation next to my table. I should have left when I smell the smoke when I walked in but believed the hype and decided to give it a try. Bad mistake and will not be back again.

Saltimbocca was good but, the Tuscan Ribeye wasn't. If you're going to charge steakhouse prices... you need to serve a better quality product and make sure it's a ribeye and not a sirloin.

Make sure you have the tiramisu for dessert, it's great.

Great service! They have a menu from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with smaller portions and cheaper prices! I found even with supposedly smaller portions the salads and entrees were still more than I could eat! Food is delicious and ambience is nice as well! Would highly recommend as a favorite Italian place to dine!

Amazing food, but a few issues. While there my waiter dropped my appetizer on the table which broke the plate, flipped the food onto the table, and broke 3 glasses which spilled water everywhere. Asides that the food was AMAZING. Sadly there had to be one last issue. We found a piece of cardboard in my cheese cake. But the manager apologized and gave us a 50 dollar gift card. Also, I can't like but the cheese cake was still amazing. I personally ordered the spaghetti and oh my it was amazing. The meat ball was god like and the sauce was unreal. The noodles were cooked to perfection and I was amazed by the portion size. It was amazing and actually filling.

A good place perceivable as an Italian elite joint nothing really Italian in decor or service. The Marsala was about OK the flavor not quite what I expected. Salmon dish was great albeit a little high on olive oil. The Manhattan I ordered off the bar was missing the simple syrup which I pointed out. But overall an acceptable place for a place like Jackson which has few choices for international cuisine. Recommended.

A perfect location for friends meetings! A place to really savor your food through many courses. You have to try the banana foster! They actually flambe the dish right at your table. The staff was friendly and accommodating without hovering. Overall a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back.
