Stopped in for lunch with my dad one day. A super cute, fun place. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and even when their "rush" hit it was so fun to watch what were obviously a bunch of regulars interact with each other and the staff. The laughter, the smiles, the general great attitudes were spectacular to see. I will definitely be recommending them and going back. Spectacular!

Nice restaurant makes good chicken, ever smiling staff always busy. Delivery services with them does not get priority and I don’t know if they understand that delivery services are considered contracts that means that a delay in their restaurant means poor rating for these contractors and lesser orders for them. Hope they address this to get great reviews that their great meals deserve

Barring one or two options that may not fit people's personal preferences, The Coop is hands down a fantastic place to grab lunch or dinner. Don't call it fast food, though, no heat lamps here, but it's worth the wait, and you won't wait too long.

Instant potatoes and very little gravy with them. Need to call ahead for chicken or wait 15 to 20 minutes because they only cook the chicken to order wich isn't necessarily a bad thing. Coney sauce was delicious but low quality hot dogs.

The Coop has some great food. So far as haven't had anything from them that I didn't like. I've gotten the pulled pork, Coney's, wings, fried chicken and potato wedges and they've all been amazing! Not a ton of seating, but a great place to pick up dinner to go!

My friends and family have been coming here for years and years. One of a kind Coney Island's you can't get anywhere else. Also their broasted chicken is amazing. Family owned and a friendly staff. Very small inside. Only a few tables. Most get take-out. A true staple of So. St. Paul! A must try and a go out of your way type of place.

This little gem is hidden right under your nose in South St. Paul. Stopped in one day while visiting the cities to meet up with some friends. The food was great and served in a timely manner. Cooked to order. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Next time I am in St. Paul I will definitely stop back in.

Had the fish dinner with coleslaw & mini hash browns. Fish was a little thin, over cooked and a bit too much breading. Tasted decent in spite of it though. Coleslaw and mini hash browns were status quo, nothing to write home about. One of the better places in the neighborhood. In the end it's go back. Especially to try the chicken.

I hate to say it, but i was there last winter for the first time in years and i ordered the chicken strips, expecting a classic chicken place to make them from scratch... when the waitress brought them out, it was obvious that they were some cheap frozen variety from Aldi or Cub Foods, not something a restaurant should ever serve. I had to sit there and smile and force a good portion of those down just to be polite in front of the waitress and the cook, but all in all they were terrible.... I have eaten there 2 more times and after reading reviews, and going on what i experienced... the only good thing to eat there nowadays are the Coney Island dogs. Either find out how to make chicken like it was made there back in the 70's, 80's & 90's, or change the name to The Coney island Coop or something and drop the chicken from the menu...

The food is good with the chicken being no. 1 for me on the menu. Great place for takeout. The ribs are also good. Fast & friendly service, with reasonable prices. I order takeout from here often when I'm on that side of town. Not much of a dine in place- I think they have 3 small tables. Plan on take out & enjoy the food at home or?

The Coop makes the best broasted chicken I have ever eaten. I miss the fried chicken I used to be able to get when I lived in the south, but this comes closer than the majority of iterations you will find anywhere else up here. Not in the mood for chicken? That is ok, because they have other things as well on the menu. They also have daily deals and a "children's menu" if that is something that interests you. You may have a short wait for your food but it's definitely worth it.

They pretty much cook their chicken to order, so expect a bit of a wait. It's also important to note that there is VERY LITTLE seating (only about 3 tables). So I would definitely going during off-peak hours, or just calling ahead for takeout. But aside from that, the food is really quite good. It's not fancy, and it's certainly not "healthy" -- but that's not why you are looking to eat at a fried chicken restaurant, are you? The chicken is flavorful, crispy, and satisfyingly greasy. The slaw is creamy and light. And I'm partial to the potato coins. The Coop is a great occasional treat!

Very disappointed! I ordered the Coney dog basket and the hot dog was tiny. It was a cheap kids dog. The chili was nasty. It wasn't even chili it was some nasty ground beef with no beans. They know they are getting over on the customers. I will never be back. I thought this was going to be a nice down home spot. This pictures they advertised fooled me.

Not super impressed for the first time. Food was fine! Ordered 12 piece w/ potatoes. Was about to get charged extra(family) until I said something. I saw menu said Tuesday was 26.00. Was charged 28.00. Whatever, I'm over that. Then while I sit there and wait....and wait orders are going out the door. The couple who ordered after me(12 piece also) gets their food. Not super busy just super unorganized! (I even heard the guy in the back ask who is first). I think he realized I had been sitting for a bit to long and offered me free desert. No thanks! You will just get a poor review instead! Chicken is delicious though!

Nice quite hole in the wall family owned spot. Love these places because they almost always have fantastic customer service. This place did NOT disappoint. Good food with large servings @ a good price. 12 spaces indoors. Would love to see more outdoor seating with no cars able to drive next to them like it is now. Not very family friendly.

I've only had the chicken dinner here, and it was amazingly good! Far better than KFC's; juicy, large portions, piping hot, and very tasty! Plus the price is right. I took my granddaughter here for the Wednesday half chicken special, and we were both stuffed! The atmosphere is cozy; not too many tables, and we did have to wait a while, but nothing too bad. It's more like a family place, where your Grandma is cooking for you, and you have to wait a bit. :) We will definitely be back!

Our guests raved about the food catered by The Coop at our wedding. The pulled pork came perfectly seasoned and juicy and had sauce on the side to add. The chicken was crispy. Everything was hot. The cheesy potatoes, baked beans and coleslaw were also very yummy. Several people went for seconds. Thanks for being so accommodating for our vegan and vegetarian guests as well. Would highly recommend!
