My husband and I recently got married on 09.10.16. We booked our wedding at Winehaven Winery two years in advance. We had issues initially with Mintahoe with representatives changing, which made communication difficult and frustrating at times. We were also frustrated with our initial tasting experience, as we traveled to their location in the cities, and experienced COLD food. We were very disappointed and started to second guess Mintahoe. Eventually we had a consistent representative, Krista, who turned out to be FANTASTIC. She was very friendly and supportive. She helped us get a second tasting and made sure everything came together for our wedding. She helped Mintahoe be flexible and accommodating. Communication was much better and we ended up having a great experience. The day of the wedding was overall pleasing-the staff was friendly and responsive. We had the chicken and beef-the beef was amazing, the chicken slightly dry. The green beans were also under cooked and blah. We had issues with the staff moving the tables off the dance floor when we were in a rush and on a strict timeline! But they were able to accommodate and follow our direction. The other thing we had issues with was our security at our wedding. We understand the security guard was trying to do their job, but the staff was very mean looking and had our guests talking-I thought security made our wedding feel VERY uptight and strict which is not the feel we wanted at all. I asked our venue to talk to security but the staff continued to be stern and off-putting. We appreciate the service but were really disappointed with how unapproachable security was. The last criticism we have is that we wish Krista was available throughout our wedding night. I would have felt more supportive if she was there-having a friendly face to talk to and discuss any concerns with would have made our experience much better. We would still recommend Mintahoe because they were helpful and the food was above average. We would definitely recommend Krista due to her communication and support!

We got married at Nicollet Island Pavilion in November and loved the look of the venue and the many options for indoor/outdoor accommodations. The food was expensive but also incredible, so at least you get what you pay for. Overall our wedding was full of love, fun and the vibe we were looking for! I wish I could give it 5 stars for the above reasons and 2 stars for the efficiency of the planning process and billing. First, they still use only paper contracts and floor plans that you fill out by hand and send back and forth via email, which means a lot of scanning (thank goodness I owned a scanner!) and clarifications needed to happen to make sure everything was right. I caught a big mistake that they had put our ceremony outside, rather than in the tent on this drawing a few weeks after we "finalized" it. Second, we had a short planning meeting with Tracy to go over the details we wanted and the decor. Maybe it wasn't short for her, but we felt rushed. They just have a couple binders of pictures of the lighting/ceiling/table/linens options so if you want to look at them again you would have to make another appointment to look at them in person. There is no reason such a large venue doesn't have a secure way to look at them online or have copies for customers, especially those who don't live in minneapolis. We were told pinterest has good pictures of the different decor options, but they are just artsy photos of other weddings with no descriptions of exactly what the venue can offer (versus what is from outside vendors) in the pictures. Third, there were two mistakes made on our bill. We were double charged for the bartenders, which my mother in law (who is an accountant) caught. Then she messed up how our "flash sale" pricing was billed and accidentally credited us and took off the price of the sale items, because it was the first time she had done a flash sale. So she emailed me THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING saying we owe $1,660 more. I understand that people make mistakes, but do not email the bride the day before the wedding and cause extra stress. They should have double checked the bill before they sent it out if it was the first time using a new system and also should have caught the mistake more than 24hours in advance of the wedding. Lastly, to pay your bill the amount you owe will be emailed to you then you have to pay on the mintahoe website but the mintahoe website does not have your information or how much you owe listed when you go to pay, which was a little nerve rattling with such large sums of money. So make sure you double check how much they say you owe in the email very carefully before paying. Also, there were two times I had to send a couple duplicate emails to Tracy and added in Kaley in order to get a response. There needs to be more of them to accommodate how popular the venue is. It really feels like most of my frustrations could be solved by updating their work flow processes with improved technology and online billing.

Great Service: Erin and rest of staff were great. OK food: Nothing spectacular, OK Beef & Chicken, Hard Carrots, OK Cake, nothing really stood out. Only Option: We had to use Mintahoe because they are the exclusive food vendor for Leopold's Mississippi Gardens. Otherwise we would have to do a buy out and pay for additional fees. This is common for weddings, but I would prefer at these 2 options.

I was in a panic when the caterer that my mother-in-law-to-be hired, then bailed on us and took our money for our wedding. I didn't know what I was going to do! We had 200 guests coming. I called Mintahoe Catering and Events and spoke with Julie Teran, and she completely calmed me down, was available for our date, gave me great choices for food and liquor. I am SO grateful for her and her team of professionals! On the day of my wedding, everything was set up, it tasted fantastic, I got many many compliments on the food! It went off without a hitch and I just so grateful to her and Mintahoe for making my day a dreamm day for me, my husband and my guests. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Mintahoe/Picnics Plus did a fantastic job providing food and service for our company picnic. The buffet table looked perfect with red and white checkered cloth table clothes. The food was hot and delicious and the service (Dan) was more than I could've expected. I've had other caterers in the past years and the food has been good but service was severely lacking. As the event planner for my company having Mintahoe cater our event took enormous amount of work off my plate. I knew I could be completely hands off on anything to do with set up, serving and taking down the buffet. Dan even came around cleaning up tables and taking peoples plates towards the end of the meal. Great job and will use them again!

Not a caterer set up to do authentic ethnic events, receptions etc. I attended a wedding catered by Mintahoe and I would strongly suggest that if you are looking for a catering service or have to use this catering service because of an exclusive contract with the venue that you look elsewhere, especially if you want authentic ethnic cuisine of another culture.

While the food was just okay the service we received both leading up to and at our event was great. Tyler was our event captain at The Van Dusen Mansion and really was spectacular. Perfect venue for us! We wanted a location where we could have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception back to back at the same location - once we saw NIP, we were 100% sure this was it. The beautiful water landscape and rustic pavilion are truly one of a kind in Minneapolis. Tracy and her staff were the best - we sent a lot of emails finalizing the food, decor details, and schedule. She was always responsive, professional, and organized. Many of our guests said the location was the most incredible. Her staff (including the bartenders, security, and banquet staff) were friendly and accommodating - even making sure we had cocktails, appetizers, and dessert since we were having so much fun enjoying our day.

Mintahoe was the caterer for our wedding at Leopold’s Mississippi Gardens. Erin was our main point of contact and she did an outstanding job! She was always on top of planning, from food to day of timelines. Whenever we had random questions she was always available and quick to respond back. The day of, Erin did a great job coordinating the day and kept everything working in a timely manner. The food was exactly what we had asked for and tasted wonderful! Our favorite was the Butternut Squash Ravioli! In addition, the “Captain”, Raul, was incredible to work with! He had a smile on all day and had a demeanor to him that kept us calm and assured that he has everything under control. The bartenders, Stacy and Steve, were also wonderful! They always made sure my husband and I had a drink in our hand and were very personable! Overall, Mintahoe did an outstanding job and all of the staff were friendly and happy to be apart of our day! We got married in September at the Minnesota Boat Club. We worked with Katie from Mintahoe and she made the process really easy. She promptly answered all of our questions and helped us navigate the entire process. We had a last minute change for some of the meals and Mintahoe was able to accommodate that and make a special meal for someone on a very strict diet. The food and drinks were great. All the staff on the day was helpful and we did not even have to think about anything day-of because they took care of it all very smoothly.

We had our wedding reception at the Boat Club through Mintahoe, and it was a fantastic experience! It's the perfect size for a small wedding (we had roughly 95 people). The dance floor always feels full, and there's an amazing covered terrace for people who want to be outside. It's a great choice for people who don't want the stress of an outdoor wedding, but still want an outside aspect. The Mintahoe staff was so responsive and helpful, we felt really supported every step of the way. 10/10 would recommend!

Our consultant seemed pre-occupied. Maybe she needs another person to help handle menu customization and requests. She would answer questions in a timely manner but did not provide updated menus and proposals in a timely manner. She would often forget to include items I mentioned. Very frustrating especially when we got down to the wire (2 weeks out). The tasting was a let down. We were only able to try items already pre-selected for us. We didn't have any choice in the items we tasted. Therefore we felt we had to pick those food items because we hadn't tried anything else and didn't want to risk it for our guests. The day of the staff was frankly wonderful and did a great job. The food succeeded our expectations but only because we had very low expectations based on attending a wedding at Nicollet Island Pavillion where the food was literally cold. Also they did not provide glassware through dinner which was agreed upon in our proposal. All in all I'm glad that for our wedding the food was actually pretty good, warm, and our guests liked it! Also I appreciated how the staff was friendly, attentive, and the event went smoothly.

Our budget was not as big as one would be for a wedding and Mintahoe worked closely with us to take out unnecessary costs so we could fit it into our budget. Since I am part of a student group they were very flexible with the uniqueness of our event. All communication was extremely clear and always in a timely manner. Highly recommend them! Not to mention the food is absolutely delicious and all guests of our event were blown away.

We reached out for an appointment via the website - we wanted to visit the Minnesota Boat Club-it turned out we did not like the Public Restroom entrance at the site and changed plans to see the Nicollet Island Pavillion - the rep said someone would contact me, sadly despite several emails and voicemails I never got s call back. 8.8.16 Update: Mintahoe catered our company picnic again last weekend and everything was a success. From the food to entertainment there was nothing but positive feedback. We had a new rep and Steve was a pleasure to work with. We recently used Mintahoe for our company annual picnic. Julie was great to work with on all of the upfront details. She was very quick to respond to any questions that we had. The day of the event they hit a home run. They grilled the food onsite and it was delicious. They also took care of the entertainment, we had a face painter, magician and a bounce house. It was nice being able to enjoy the picnic instead of organizing and running the entertainment. The magician and face painter were very professional and well-liked by everyone. We would highly recommend Mintahoe and look forward to working with them again.

We held our wedding at the Garden Room of Eden Prairie, and Mintahoe was in charge of the event and catering. Heather was wonderful with coordinating the whole day and making our requests happen! She was a great source, and even though I didn't have a wedding planner, Heather made me feel as if I had one! Tyler was in charge of the food and venue on the wedding day. He and his staff were so helpful and friendly! The whole event was so enjoyable and stress free. The food was amazing! We had so many compliments and comments about it being the best food had at a wedding!

Awesome experience! I was in charge of ordering food for my company's Employee Holiday meal (no pressure, right?). After researching and getting quotes, it was clear that Mintahoe was the direction to go in. Pricing is competitive and the produced a wonderful meal. I wanted to substitute desserts for another veggie (yep, I was that girl!), and they met my request - even gave me veggie options to choose from. Julie was great to work with. She responds to emails quickly and was helpful the entire way. I have an off shift (1:00am) - Mintahoe was here with fresh, hot food in the middle of the night. I recommend Mintahoe to anyone looking for a caterer. I know that I will use them again. My employees said that this was the best Holiday Employee meal that had received from our company (Thermotech) in years! Thanks again Mintahoe!!!

We planned a celebration of life at the Inwood Oaks location - we did it on short notice and with a tight budget and it couldn't have turned out more meaningful. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious, and they were very accommodating to all of our needs. They understood that due to our circumstances we didn't have a lot of time and needed answers quickly and not everything would be planned out perfectly and we would need to finalize some things on the fly. The entire family is very grateful for their support and ensuring the celebration of life turned out beautiful and a meaningful time for all.

The best man had 4 pieces! Raul is one of the servers who really stood out to us. He is so friendly and funny. On Saturday August 12th 2017 the Minnesota supply chain center for Domino's Pizza had a company picnic for it's employees that was catered by Mintahoe. The event was an overwhelming success due to the hard work of the Mintahoe staff. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. They took care of every aspect of the event so there was no hands on help required from Domino''s team members. Rating is more like a 2.5 star. Had an ok experience with this caterer. My wedding was at A'Bulae, lovely venue but this was the only catering service provided. Food was expensive for 'just ok' food. Because it was a very busy night as well, I did not get the chance to eat nor enjoy my dinner properly. The waiters were taking food off the tables way too soon. We bought food for 200 people and the food that was brought out did not even come close to 200 servings. If I could do it differently, I would have gone with buffet style--that way I know that I paid for the full 200 servings. The main gal we worked with was very slow at getting back to us with numbers as well. Initially, we wanted Thai food, but seeing that it was going to be a bit of a challenge for them, we skipped the idea completely and had what was on their menu. The dessert bar and midnight pizzas were great, probably because it was the only thing I can remember eating. I also had my wedding cake done through them. During the tasting, the cake was great. On the night of the wedding, it was way too dry as if they've made the cake several days ahead. Overall, was not impressed for the very expensive $$ service we paid for :/

Do NOT book any wedding venue that uses Mintahoe. I had a horrible experience with them and do not recommend them to anyone!!! Since my venue used Mintahoe catering I had no choice but to use them. The day I signed my contract with Mintahoe I was told the person who I was originally working with no longer was going to be my sales consultant and that I would have a new consultant. So at this point I was already on my 2nd consultant with Mintahoe. I then went to a food tasting and it was an awful experience. The food was cold, the presentation was horribly unappetizing and the food tasted awful. I was planning on having chicken and a pasta at my wedding, and even with that they could not provide warm, appealing food. I would have been embarrassed to serve that food to anyone at my wedding and it would have ruined my wedding! My second consultant with Mintahoe hardly knew any answers to the questions we asked her, and she went to get the director of Sales to discuss our awful experience and disappointment. We were then invited back to do another taste testing in a few weeks. In the meantime we spent hours planning with our second sales consultant and a few weeks after our first tasting I received an email saying I would no longer be working with the second sales consultant, but getting a new one. So this would have been the third consultant I would have worked with in 6 months!!! The constant changeover offers no consistency nor can one develop a rapport with the person you will be working with for your wedding. Constantly being transferred to a new person is in itself stressful! I had then sent an email to the Vice President of Mintahoe to make him aware of all my concerns and he stated he would review my concerns and apologized for the stress we had gone through thus far. I then received an email a few days later in which Mintahoe stated “at this time, that we would not be a good fit for your wedding and reception dinner needs.” I had signed a contract with Mintahoe and yet they had completely disregarded this contract. So at that point I was left with no caterer for my wedding. Mintahoe handled this situation very unprofessionally and I would NEVER recommend them!!!

We had our wedding at the Minnesota Boat Club in St. Paul. I couldn't have asked for a better location, venue, and amenities. We were able to have the wedding outside with the reception inside. The venue is a perfect size for nothing too over the top. It is an intimate setting, with terraces overlooking downtown St. Paul and the Mississippi. I am so thrilled at the fantastic wedding we had in August 2017 at the Nicollet Island Pavilion, catered by Mintahoe. The staff we worked with (Tracy & Kailey) are incredibly responsive, and very willing to be flexible with the whims of a bride :) The Pavilion space is unbelievably beautiful, and though expensive, you could not imagine a better space for a wedding. Mintahoe worked with us to create a delicious family-style menu for our wedding, which ended up being very fun to watch our tables interact, and gave a great value of food for the cost. Everyone was full! I would highly recommend the Chicken Piccata & Beef Spare Ribs as entrees, which people were raving about all night.

Our venue coordinator, Tracy, was as capable as any wedding planner, helping us stay organized and answering countless questions leading up to the event. We ran a little behind schedule with photos, but Tracy was calm and reassuring, and very accommodating. We also had a slight miscommunication (totally my fault!) about the flowers, but again Tracy handled everything and no one noticed anything was amiss. We have had our company holiday parties at some of the top venues in the Twin Cites. We have done parties at Green Acres, Aria, The Profile and McNamara Alumni to name a few. This by far was the most expensive place and it was the first time ever in 25+ years that we ran out of food before all the guests had made it through the buffet line. The worst part is that the owners, the people who paid for the party did not get any of the beef tenderloin because they ran out. We paid to have a carving station and but the beef came out on a plate. They were very slow at replenishing food-leaving people standing around waiting and finally giving up and going to sit down. The bartenders kept trying to shut the bar down well before the party was over and we insisted it stayed open. When we were handing out gifts to our employees they finally shut it down. The catering prices were outrageous (we had the same exact menu items at other venues) and paid 2x more for average food that they ran out of(keep in mind-we were below the final number I gave because some invited guests couldn't make it) A'bulae was a beautiful venue and its to bad they partnered up with an awful caterer.

Everything about Mintahoe was amazing. Krista, our Sales Consultant, acted so much more like a wedding planner than our caterer. She was unbelievably responsive, helpful, and accommodating. The food was so incredibly good (still getting compliments weeks later from our guests) and although feeding hundreds of people can be expensive, Krista was so great at helping us be smart with our budget instead of trying to nickle and dime each request. We went with buffet style hors d'oeuvres, family style meal, a small 6" bride groom cake for us, cheesecake desserts for the guests, a champagne pour for toasts, and pre-paid some adult beverages. Not only did Krista work with all our vendors (DJ, Photo Station, Venue, etc.) to ensure everyone was tracking the same flow of events, she worked and reworked our floor plan and accommodated high chairs for the kiddos. Our wedding was such a fairy-tale because of her attention to detail and her diligence. Thank you Krista! I would highly recommend Mintahoe to anyone who gets to work with her :)

I recently planned a company picnic using Mintahoe as our caterer. They were fabulous! From day one, Julie was super helpful and responsive. She brought out samples of the food to our business so everyone helping to plan this event could taste the food. Once we booked them, she clearly communicated deadlines for headcount, payment, other outside vendor info, etc. The day of the event she showed up on site to make sure things were ready to go with her staff, as well as answer any questions. The food was great, and competitively priced. The staff was amazingly helpful, professional and friendly and went above and beyond to make our picnic a success. Had a wonderful wedding at the Pavilion in July! The location and venue are truly beautiful! We were able to have the wedding exactly how we liked! I would say the only downside is having to cater through them (just food, you can cater your own desserts). I also planned my wedding long-distance, which this venue did not accommodate in the best way. I work 8-5 everyday and it was difficult to find someone who could set aside time in the evening or weekends to have a phone meeting, which was postponed so long that we didn't have our initial meeting until about a month and a half before the wedding. I would recommend using the Pavilion if you are live in the Minneapolis area and have time for in-person meetings and also if you're okay with catering their food and having to go along with some very specific rules and fees - understandable, since they do so many events, but it was frustrating that we couldn't have sparklers or throw rice for the send-of. Overall, there was just not a great amount of flexibility or really clear communication (especially since we have to talk a lot through email). But if you are looking for a professional, local venue that knows what they're doing, this is the place for you! Honestly the photos will be phenomenal and everyone was very nice the day-of. Couldn't have asked for a better wedding! :)

Nicollet Island Pavilion was an incredible venue and if we had to do it over we would get married there again in a heartbeat. We looked at ~20 venues around the city and couldn’t find anything that could compare in terms of size, city view, on the water, etc…The price was competitive with all other similar sized downtown venues. Gabriella Panebianco took over as the main point of contact for us a few months from our wedding. She quickly brought herself up to speed and was incredibly professional and patient throughout the process. We had several last minute changes/questions the week of the wedding and she was completely accessible and handled all inquiries promptly. We did not hire a day of coordinator, nor did we need to. Gabriella was present on wedding day through dinner and provided a calming presence and made sure everything flowed correctly. The entire staff on site was incredibly kind to us and our guests. In particular, Steve the bartender went out of his way to take care of both of our parents all night. Bottom line, awesome place to get married and awesome people to work with.

Appetizers were great, and the staff even put some at the head table since we didn't get the chance to have any during social hour.
