This is the second time I have visited Joni's. It is also the second time I have ended up in downtown New Ulm so that I could visit Joni's. If I lived closer- I would come often. (Brooklyn is a bit of a commute) Highlights: Diet Mountain Dew on Tap Great staff Loaded hashbrowns LOVE.

Food is always hot and fresh. (my favorite is the chicken fried steak) My family and I eat there almost every Sunday. The prices are low but not the quality of what you are getting. The saying" you only get what you pay for" doesnt apply here.. you get more than what you pay for.

If comfort food had a national capital it would be Joni's. Get there and eat - you'll feel better when you leave! I recommend that you have some pie for dessert. If your Grandmother made pies as good as Joni's, you are a very lucky person. Oh yeah, she has wraps and salads and stuff too...

We had planned to eat breakfast here on the last morning of our trip to New Ulm. Unfortunately, we didn't even get to the table. I walked right past it, but my husband pointed out the notice near the door advising of a meeting for the MN Marriage Amendment to recognize marriage between one man and one woman. He asked if I really wanted to eat here and that answer was no. We turned around and were out the door. A business sure does have the right to their opinions and beliefs. When they want to make it public, then I have the right to spend or not spend my money at their business. Pretty disappointing, I missed what I anticipated would have been a good breakfast. I just thought others would like to know of this restaurants public beliefs before planning their vacation. It might help you decide how to spend your money one way or the other.
