The chips and salsa were not bad, but that is the only thing I would recommend anyone order. I had an enchilada and a tostada. The enchilada was cold and the tostada was topped with ground beef that had no seasoning at all. It was tasteless. Don't waste your money folks.

The food was excellent but the people at the door were rude. We stood there several minutes without being acknowledged while they talked. Then barely said anything before walking to a table, we were unsure if he had actually spoken to us. The rest was good, server was sweet and food great.

I have always been left satisfied by the food and service at this location. Fresh food, good portions, affordable. Happy hour mini chimis are the best. After moving away from Bloomington, this is one of the places I miss eating at the most. Other locations do not offer the same menu or happy hour specials.

Usually have great luck with the El Loro chain around the twin cities but tonight was a different story!!! Stopped at the Bloomington location on Lyndale. The bartender was good but the 3 softshell tacos were like eating sandpaper, very dry!!! Just saying that I was disappointed with my meal and will pass for a while on El Loro. Hopefully they get it together at the Bloomington location!

This location is very clean and in a good location. Some of their apps are half-off for happy hour. Unfortunately that's where the compliments cease. The service was subpar and slow. The food was very Americanized and tasteless. There are coupons available online and in various mailers, so if you are forced to stop here, make sure to save some money in the process!

For a restaurant "chain", El Loro has some really tasty food! I highly recommend the Fajitas, and Burritos! They give you complimentary chips and salsa, and the beans and rice are fantastic! Staff was very friendly and always give you attention! Great place for a first date!

Maybe they are understaffed but seen employees doing other things when they could have been helping the tables and customers

The food is always consistently delicious at El Loro. I love the chicken chimichanga, and the queso. However the service is not consistent, there are times you'll wait an extended period of time and times you'll get service immediately. It's always clean and relaxing though.

Very good, the queso was delicious, the SOUR CREAM was out of this world!! Never have had sour cream like that! Tortilla chips were excellent, the salsa was spicy and very flavorful! My husband had the fish tacos - very good! The rice that came with it had these little yellow beans in it. I've never seen that before, but I wish all Mexican rice was made that way. Yummy! We highly recommend this place and would come here again.

They need an awning or something over the door to patio. Food and service was fairly decent. However, the sun setting in the West puts customers sitting across from the patio door in a blinding light every time the door is opened to the patio area. Which occurs about every 2 seconds. This made for what I would argue is one of my worst dining experiences in my life. They either should do something to block that gap from sunlight or not have the booth directly across from that patio door. All the other tables along that wall are shaded by the window blinds, so it is literally just one booth affected by this and lucky us, it was our spot. I would rate 4 maybe 5 stars if not for this.

One of my favorite restaurants! They give you complimentary chips and salsa and a super tasty spicy-white dip. Their happy hour goes until 6 which is nice and their margaritas are delicious! Their serving sizes are also very big so I usually have enough for leftovers.

5/29/2017: You get a huge basket of tortilla chips w/ a spicy red salsa & Mexican ranch sauce (white sauce) when you sit down. There are lots of great menu choices and the portions are quite generous. This is a very solid Mexican place in suburbia. I'd happily return.

Over the last few months, we have noticed the service completely go out the window. Today was the worst so far. The waitress completely ignored us, and when our orders came out wrong she told us "that's how they make them" these are items my husband and I order EVERY TIME. The waitress refused to have it fixed. She wouldn't refill drinks. And after giving us the check, it took her 30 minutes to come collect it which is completely inexcusable. I've been to super busy places where they pick up the check in 5 minutes, I expect that slow periods and places can do same.

I put off going to this place for a long time even though it is pretty close but decided to finally give it a shot. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. They had a fair amount vegetarian options unlike some of the other chain Mexican restaurants in the area. The food was good and reasonably priced. They also have decent happy hour drink specials. The best part though was how friendly and helpful everyone who worked there was.

I don't know how "authentic" the food is, but it tasted great. We've eaten here and at their other locations several times and never had a bad meal. They are fine with substitutions and work to make it right if something is a miss, which hasn't happened to us, but to people across the aisle. This is great food at a great price.

I went to this restaurant as soon as I arrived to the hotel. I went from another state. As soon as we enter the restaurant nobody is there. So we are standing looking for somebody. Until a waitress came and just told us oh you can sit there. Took the actual waiter that was going to take care of us 20 min to ask if we wanted something to drink. Then took like another 30 min for my food to arrive. Very disappointed.

If you’re looking for good Mexican food, El Loro is not the place. It’s a chain, and God only knows where the cooks are from. Prices are high for Mexican food as well. Disappointed that I paid $14 for mediocre fish tacos. The food left me feeling off all night long, which never happens to me. I’d rate it lower but 3 stars because it has a nice atmosphere and our waitress was nice.

HORRIBLE SERVICE.. When we got to our table they gave us chips and salsa and then finally our waiter came we got our order in and never came back to the table. We ran out of chips just keep walking past us, helped the table next to us but not us. Our food finally came which was decent, cold but okay. And we asked for extra something and didn't get it until we were finished eating. I will not return ever, we did not have a steady server and they are always on there phone. I recommend El Loro in Savage Mn over this place any day. Best of luck to you.

Wide variety of tasty Mexican cuisine. I had chicken enchiladas which came with a red sauce, lettuce salad, guacamole, and rice. Portions were very generous. The temperature of the food could have been hotter, but other than that it was excellent.

I love El lorro! Food is always good. Typically service is very quick. This particular time I think our table was forgotten. We didn't get out drink order taken until we had been sitting for about 15 min. It was a week night so not too busy. We found a piece of plastic in our slasa. Luckily my 3 year old had patience that day. I don't rate my El Loro experience based off just this one as I have been many times and have always had excellent service. Must of been a rough night

My family and I enjoy this place! Good food and good portions. Outdoor patio is great and at times have local live musicians playing. Chips and salsa are great. Happy Hour deals are fantastic! Service is always very friendly and helpful. A great place to take kids. Good Tex-Mex based food.

Pretty good food. We are regulars and I've tried many things. I like the pollo Jalisco and the chimichangas! My one complaint is that the chips they give are not consistently good. More often then not the chips taste like old grease or they are stale/cold, but on a good night when the the chips are good, get some queso! Yum!

Food was great, but I almost didn't even stay at first, when I saw that all their margaritas come out of a slurpee machine. There is a large, full bar but not even once did I see any normal margaritas being made. I almost gave them 3 stars, but the food was really good and huge portions. I was eating chile verde leftovers for the next two days.

Very disappointed. The food was cheap, I'll acknowledge that it was priced relative to its quality. I was served rice that was steamed into mush and an unpalatable looking scoop of refried beans that still held the shape of the ladle that was used to slap it onto my plate. The chile relleno was not cooked correctly. They cut too many corners on one of my favorite dishes and then smothered it in cheese to distract from its flaws.

This place has good food, unfortunately I am one of those who cannot eat Cilantro. Cilantro is prevalent in most menu items. And the management refuses to make anything fresh without cilantro. This is not a very customer friendly restaurant
