While visiting Detroit MI we decided to eat at Pete’s restaurant in Taylor MI, there were four of us. While waiting for our food to be brought out, we were watching an NCAA women’s basketball game which was on the television directly in front of us. A man and his mother came in and asked his waitress to change the channel on the television we were watching and she did. We were shocked not because we were the only people of color there, but because there were many TVs they could have changed. The hostess even suggested we change our table while we were eating our food. We asked for the manager because the man was very rude and angry that we even asked to change it back to the game we were watching. Needless to say, the manager never came and the waitress and the hostess refused to change it back. With no other recourse, we left our food on the table and exited the restaurant. This place is either racist or just unaware of the racism that their employees ditch out daily. I wouldn’t subject any decent human being to this type of service no matter what their race, color, sex, or creed! All the place needed today was a “whites only” sign.

We called ahead and asked if they could accommodate 8 people and they said yes just give us a 20 minute window. (We did) then when we got there we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. Once we got our table and ordered half the food came out for half the table by the time the rest came out half of our table was done eating and even then we had to wait for fries, onion rings. We were all out of drinks and when asked for a refill it took a while...I will say that the food (once it got to us) was pretty good but for the price and the service, ill go somewhere else.

So this place has a great beer selection but it seem like all there food is just one step away from Perfection. Cheese cake was warm on outside but frozen inside "other words not home made", the mushroom soap tasted like the can. It was awful, and the Philly steak sub didn't come with a dipping sauce. Everytime I have gone there they are just 3 star at best. It is clean, staff is friendly, and great environment.

I ordered a couple meals for dine in plus happy hour food specifically Togo and a happy hour drink. The happy hour food specials were given to me but when I asked about why they weren't discounted on the bill I was at that point told they weren't half off if ordered Togo. Great to know after my meal. I wasn't being secretive about the fact I was ordering them because it was happy hour and would have made alternative choices if that was the case. And the drink wasn't at it's discounted price either and I specifically asked if the drink I was ordering was included. But after getting screwed on the apps I wasn't going to argue over 2 bucks on a drink. It was a good experience until that point and the food was pretty good but it left a sour taste in my mouth for the restaurant going forward.

They've got a great, well rounded menu. It's like having a good dinner at home. You get plenty of food for the price (soup AND salad; not a choice of either). They have a LOT of beers on tap. One complaint: It's loud. Don't go there looking for a quiet meal. Do go there looking for good food, drinks and service.

Excellent place to eat! Service was great despite them being busy, I had the chicken stir fry which has to be the best I've ever had anywhere, I highly recommend it, loaded potato soup was to die for and the 40 craft beers on tap was awesome! I went out of the norm of domestic beer and tried the blakes fire cider and it was delicious! I recommend this as well as it went perfect with the chicken stir fry. Very cozy atmosphere, good placeto go for a first date!

The server was terrible. It was slow and she came up 3 times before we were ready to order and after we did, she didn't come around again. The grinder was terrible. The pretzel bites were good though. When paying she brought me back the WRONG CREDIT CARD. She gave mine to someone else and I had his. Luckily we both figured it out quickly and exchanged cards, but never saw her after that. This was a bad experience, but I've had better service and better food here before so I'll still go back.

I'm not sure how a staff can mess up so badly so many times. I have ordered several times for company lunches and they are always messed up. Previously in July, when we placed a pick up order we were missing all of the sauce we ordered on the side and a whole appetizer sampler and a side of fries. Today, August 20th when we placed a pick up order we were missing a side of chips for a meal and extra egg for a salad (which we had to pay EXTRA for)! I had to go back in because they forgot to give me the milkshake that was ordered as well. Upon return for the company lunch I noticed that all of the salads that were ordered had very little lettuce and brown wrinkled lettuce at that! The Buffalo Frisco salad (that was missing extra egg and extra ranch on the side) was drenched in buffalo sauce. Not just the chicken... The entire salad. It is very inconvenient to have parts of the orders missing especially when we order here so often. Very disappointing. Won't be ordering here again!!

Overall the dinning experience was fantastic. The only complaint i have is the fries needed to be cooked a little longer. Thevatmosphere is pleasant and for a big game night it was not crowded at all. Love coming to Petes Place and ill definately be back.

The menu was extremely diverse, offering something unique for anyone. We were seated minutes after arriving and our server was taking our drink order within two minutes. The French Toast and pancakes were delicious and the portions were more than generous. Having a sit down breakfast with my child, with drinks included was less than $15. If I was in the area, I would definitely come back.

Was here on Sunday may 19th, this was my third time here. It was my boyfriend,his mom, me and my mom... I must say the first time was good service and AWESOME FOOD...2nd and 3rd time AWESOME FOOD...TERRIBLE wait staff... she brought my boyfriend a coke not a my dew ok no biggie... gave his soup to his mom plus she got her salad...then she NEVER came back to check to see if we needed anything. But before that happen the hostess sat us at a table that was obviously not level, and they shoved a napkin under the leg and it still was WAY off...so yes we did ask for a different table... maybe they got slammed for lunch and had parents that didnt pay attention to their kids or maybe the adults were slobs as well, but there was so much food on the floor it was disgusting... If the cooks weren't as good as they are I would NOT make this drive...My mom LOVES THE CRAB CAKES...

40 CRAFT BEERS ON TAP! I mean, really, what else do you need to know? ... Besides the fact that the food is EXCELLENT! Appetizers, brunch menu, bar food, steaks, seafood, BREAKFAST... they have whatever your looking for. This place had always been a downriver "go-to" and has changed the menu and remodeled the dining room since the last time I was here ... and the changes are a vast improvement. I tried the chicken and waffles because they had me at "sriracha infused maple bacon syrup" OMG! It was a party in my mouth for days. One word of caution - don't go here if you're trying to lose weight! LOL Enjoy!

Serving portions are kids sized. Order the soup and 1/2 sandwich combo. Soup was cold, had to send it back. And the sandwich had a tiny scoop of tuna on it. Asked the waitress where the rest of it was? She said, oh portion size is measured out. That's 4 oz. Really? For the money you pay, food is not worth it. Better off going somewhere else.

This place came up as an Irish food place that served mead. They don't really have any Irish options save maybe a couple corned beef sandwiches if you wish to consider them. They did not carry any mead even though its the first thing listed under their "40 Drafts on tap", "Dragonmead Final Absolution". Staff had no Irish knowledge. I got up just to answer nature's call and when I returned my full beer, half glass of scotch, and plate with a decent amount of crisps had been cleared away. Staff did give me a free replace ment beer. Sadly I ordered a Growler of New Holland Dragon's Milk but they could not fill it due to running out of it. Once again supposedly a draft on tap. I understand establishments run out of stock occasionally but when you claim to have 40 Drafts on tap I expect you to live up to it. I am very disappointed from this experience. It did not live up to my expectations at all.

Great food here at Pete's Place. I had the barbecue chicken entree with broccoli, carrots and cauliflower, and the bean and ham soup and salad. My lunch date had the chicken club grinder with a ton of fries. If your trying to figure out what to have for dinner, its here at Petes Place! Awesome!

I'm very disappointed that they charge for refills on a kids chocolate milk. Especially without let you know after you order it and no notation on the kids menu" no refills on milk". They stop serving apple juice and apple sauce which is still on the kids menu for availability.

One of the worst experiences at a restaurant.The food was mediocre. Cold fries, soggy chips and rubbery avocado. Not worth it. It was more hot and humid in the the restaurant than outside. The music playing was so loud we couldn't hear our waitress and she couldn't hear us, we asked her to turn it down which she did only to have the owner turn it back up and the table next to us ask to turn it down again.

And they also offer sampling flights so that you can pick the one that you like best. There is also a happy hour starting at 4 p.m. . Selected cocktails are $5

Plus: the food is fantastic. Negative: the service is lousy. Plus: there's pretty much something for all types of eaters & diets. Negative: difficult tracking down a waitress to place your order and then might not see her again until she brings the bill. Bottom line: a nice place for some delicious grub, just be ready to sit for awhile.

First time going to Pete's Place, both my husband and I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. The food was very good with very nice portion sizes. Not only did we get a nice fluffy waffle, with nice crispy edges, 3 nice size pieces of chicken breast with sriracha bacon maple syrup and a delicious piece of garlic bread, we also received hardy bowls of soup and garden salads. I could not finish my food, so I will be enjoying the remainder for breakfast in the morning. The atmosphere was nice, live music in the evening, our server was nice and checked on us often. We will definitely return!

I have been here a few time now the wait staff was great very attentive and got our orders to us fast and correct. The food was great so you know the back of house is on point as well. My only issue was when I was there on Thursday around lunch time I had to ask my server who the person that was being so rude and disrespectful to the help was. To my surprise it was the owner . To bad my friends and myself wont be back if you will be rude to your help in front of your customers that is in no way how you run a business.

First time visiting and we will be back. My Texan burger was cooked medium rare, which I asked for. Seems like a rarity nowadays (pun intended). The burgers are a bit on the expensive side because they're alacarte, but the fries and loaded baked potato soup that I got by making it deluxe were delicious. The burger was big, juicy, and filling. The service was quite good as well! We will definitely be back.

Went in to have dinner and some drinks and am told it is a 40 minute wait. I questioned about a table which was empty. I was told it was saved for larger groups. Girl then replied there were like 6 parties ahead of us waiting. How about breaking this table up and accommodate the people waiting and not someone that isn’t even in waiting. I know this place has a lot of turnover and have a feeling whoever manages this place isn’t very bright.

They offer a wide selection of beers on tap and have a fun monitor that shows the volume left in the kegs in real time. A great place to go with the family or grab a drink on a Friday night.

The food was great and there was such a variety on the menu. The only complaint I had about the food was that the pork chop on the menu was at least a good inch thick, but when it came it was paper thin. It was still good, but I ordered it because the big fat juicy one in the photo was so appetizing. Our server was great and the rest of the staff appeared to be in a great mood when they were out cruising around, but when they all got together in the kitchen, which is wide open to the people sitting in the restaurant, they stood around complaining about work conditions and f-bomb this, f-bomb that quite loudly. I asked our waitress if she could ask them to use their inside voices. I have a mouth like a sailor but in that environment it was not pleasant to listen to while trying to enjoy dinner. Also, the kitchen was playing loud rap music, obviously from a cell phone because the music kept being interrupted by notifications. Again, I love the music, just don't want to hear it blasting while I'm trying to enjoy dinner. I'll be back, it wasn't a complete turnoff, but I'll ask to sit on the bar side just in case and hope that the staff is a little more customer-conscious next time.

This is THE BEST brunch spot! But seriously though, Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner, the food is always phenomenal & the staff are lovely. Catch them on the weekends when "Acoustic Ash" is playing. Great local artist!!!

Food was good... After my appetizer had to be recooked because it was frozen in the middle. But tge waitress was nice, polite and a joy. So overall a rough start and a great finish
