Stopped there for dinner at the end of our Milford Memories excursion. You must try it! The City Chicken was the best ever and I don't normally like Kraut, but this was amazing. If you enjoy Polish food this place is the one to go to! It was like getting a home cooked meal away from home. The owners are so friendly. Plan on getting carry out often since they have so much to choose from and need to try their Mexican!

This place has horrible employees. It seems like this building changes from one restaurant to the next every few years and the reason is the crappy service. We walked in for the first time and didn't know you have to go to the counter to order so we stood waiting for a waitress to seat us. The staff saw us standing there and not one explained how to order. A customer finally had to tell us and said they went through the same thing when they came in. The parking lot is big here but the building is in a bad spot so the parking lot has two sides to it. If you pull in the right side all the cars are facing the same way when parked and close together. The past restaurants that have been here left the back of the building area clear so the cars could pull out and drive around. This owner parks their catering truck in the way so when you leave it takes forever to try and get your car out of the parking spot and completely turned around. There's WAY better places to eat in this area with great service. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I really want to love Czapski's, so I may be a little biased in this review. The food was very tasty, the service was great and the interior is well-decorated. I get the sense that the staff doesn't love loud Polish polka music 24/7, but I think it adds to the charm. Maybe some rotations of music? My only real caveat was the pie. It was deliciously phenomenal, but none of the pies had prices on them. So one piece was nearly $7.00 while the other was $3.00. It would just be nice to have them labelled. Still, I love this local and unique place and wish them all the best in the world. We will be back.

It’s like going to visit family....the Polish music and the smell of a home cooked meal just makes me warm inside and I always leave full! The decor is quirky and part of what makes this cafe a great place to visit. Visit often for specials and to try everything on the menu! #friedbolognayum

Horrible catering experience. Owner is seriously unprofessional and has no idea how to properly run a business. She literally sold my catering order to another customer because he was on the verge of making a scene. So because of that she decided to make a new customers experience less than satisfactory because I had to wait 30 minutes for them to remake my order that they had sold to someone else. Keep in mind this is not just an assumption made by me while I was getting impatient, the owner came up to me and apologized for selling my order to someone else! The owner then made no effort to rectify the situation and still charged me full price for my food I had to wait extra for. The food itself is pretty good, however their city chicken is only made with pork and not veal, and for that they over charge. The owner has no business running a business let alone catering. I am lucky I just had a family function I was late to and not something more serious. DO NOT ORDER CATERING FROM HERE

Best kept secret in town! While visiting downtown Milford we came across this little café which has amazing food!! First of all there are 3 types of food, Polish, Mexican, and American. I liked they had an option to select 3 items called a combo plate, so I selected Guampky (stuffed cabbage), City chicken (meat on a stick), and meatballs. Oh my gosh felt like I was at home in my moms kitchen it was soooo good!! Honestly cant say which I liked best, the meatballs were so tender and tasty, the Guampky was perfectly cooked, and the city chicken had such a unique good flavor, its something I have never had before. Along with the meal were REAL homemade mashed potatoes which were so good they really don't need gravy BUT the gravy was delicious I couldn't resist, calling it my goody day lol. Also a side of sauerkraut came with the meal that was pretty tasty. The prices are so reasonable too! Coffee was fresh and they have flavored creamers which I enjoy. Our waitress was Holly who was so welcoming and friendly. When I went to counter to pay I seen fresh apple pie so got a piece to go for my hubby (which he said had fresh apples not canned at all and a very good cinnamon taste). While standing there a man came up from cooking area and asked how we liked our meals etc. , he genuinely cared about his food. I am being honest to say I wouldn't change a thing, everything came hot to the table and absolutely delicious. Also the place has lots of windows so its open and bright and not a bit cold even right next to the window. Last but not least I was not sure how to pronounce the name until I looked at the sign and it said, "just say Chop-ski". Can't wait to return :)

We had a group of 10 for lunch during a work trip. It was our first time here and every loved their food. Good portions. Decent prices. I thought the combo dinner plate was a bit high priced. The pierogi are just like what my mom makes. City chicken is tender and delicious. Mashed potatoes and gravy was homemade or atleast tasted like it. The fresh Greens beans were so good. The atmosphere is quaint and clean. Reminded us of going into our grandmas house with the antique furniture, knickknacks and photos, it was so inviting. Loved the Polish music playing. We will definitely go back.

Delicious Polish food; the city chicken is very tender and tasty. Pierogi flavor is fresh cheesy potato and is awesome. The price is very reasonable. I haven't tried the Mexican menu yet, but know it will be just as good. The only thing I would recommend asking is the price of the desserts in the display case (not on the menu) since it is special it may be a bit pricey.

It’s decorated to look like my great aunts home and the food was delicious. My only disappointment was how cold I was. The floor had a draft and my feet froze. Oh man. Where do I start. Their service is top notch. Especially for the dairy elite (allergic to dairy) like me. My mother and I sat down for lunch and asked the waitress if they had anything that I could have. The look on her face was priceless. We.... We don't have non dairy items..... Would you want me to ask the chef? Sure! So then the chef comes out and goes... I just can't think of anything you can have?! Hold on! Do you trust me? Sure?! I'm going to whip you something up. You'll love it. Love it I did. So much that I got a second bowl. I will be coming back to see what else she can think of. Love the atmosphere and the people. All in all a great place.

I have been wanting to try this place for so long. I was so excited when we walked in. Polish food in milford???? How exciting!! Unfortunately, i was EXTREMELY dissapointed. The food was cold. I got the combo plate and none of my meat was cooked thoroughly. Did not even taste the meat. Potatoes were cold. Perogie was OK it definitely was not fresh. The whole place has a very cheap feeling for how expensive it actually is. Service is TERRIBLE!! I was absolutely shocked. We waited 15 minutes more after we told her we needed a few more minutes. A few means a few not 15!! Then she comes up and says "i forgot about you guys!" And laughed. I didnt laugh back and she said "well atleast im honest." I can understand being busy and it maybe slipping your mind but they were not busy and looked WAY over staffed. My boyfriend got the goulash and i tried some of his because i literally couldnt eat any of my food and his was justas awful. Just because i had a bad experience doesnt mean you will but it was NOT worth the money at all. Will NEVER go back. Disgusting

Went here with my Dad today and loved it! My Dad got the combo plate and I got the Golumpki's. The food was so good and filling. Tasted just like my Grandmother would make. My first visit, so I wanted to try the chicken noodle soup, because they do sell it carryout by the quart. Very good, tender chicken, celery, onion, carrots , and really good noodles, & broth! I would have liked a few more veggies. I also tried the polish sausage & kraut, excellent! It came with fresh green beans, & real mashed potatoes,& delicious gravy. SO good. I'll definitely go again! P.S. the staff is very accommodating.

Because I did not want yet another restaurant in this spot to fail, I made sure to visit more than once and I tried several foods before leaving a review. The meatballs tasted very similar to the frozen ones you get at Walmart and were served just above room temperature. The gravy on them was good. The noodles were barely room temperature. The peirogies were sitting on a griddle for who knows how long, so they were very hard and dry by the time we got them. They are very expensive for how many you get and the quality is very poor. The green beans were served to me refrigerator cold. I think they pulled them out of the fridge and did not even bother to warm them up. The city chicken had a good flavor, but it was very dry. The burrito I got was made with roast, and was amazingly good. I tried to go back again today to get one of those burritos and they took it off them menu. So now that they have taken the only decent food off the menu, I will not be back. I am very disappointed in the food here. It is cooked catering style and sits around all day in a warmer, so it is not cooked fresh when you order it, which can be good for someone in a hurry, but I would rather wait for the food to be cooked fresh so that it tastes better and is hot. They also run out of food items frequently. This would not be an issue if you would just cook items to order.

Now let me just start by saying this, you may think that partially through this review, that you were reading a review of something other than a restaurant, but that’s just the thing... this isn’t just a restaurant... it’s an experience, a flashback, a place that’s been plucked out of time. So my wife and I, were planning another date night, and she presented me with a place to eat. All it took were two words: polish golumpki *also spelled guampky* (for those who may not know what this is IE: stuffed cabbage). A down home, family diner, located in downtown Milford was the destination. Tucked away, in a very picturesque location, your arrival and dining experience, will reflect that awesome small town feel, that it captures ever so well. Once inside you'll be transported back in time, to a restaurant that brings back a flood of great memories. There was a small sign that said "please seat yourself", so we inconsequentially sat ourselves at the counter. Upon sitting, this awarded us what I would consider, the best seat in the house. From this vantage point, I was really able to take in all of what this restaurant captured, and it does it oh so well. Czapski's really brought us back to the restaurant's of years past, and accentuated the entire experience from start to finish. It’s the little things like the Three Stooges cookie jar, old fashioned milkshake maker, wall decor, to the perfectly staged dining area, seating you amongst other aficionado, that just makes it feel so good being there. All of this, and I haven’t even gotten to the food yet! I ordered the Guampky dinner, and my wife, the City Chicken dinner. Both were served with some pretty incredible mashed potatoes & gravy, fresh seasoned green beans, Kapusta (sauerkraut), and bread & butter. I can say this without reservation, that the Guampky, was the best that I’ve ever had, hands down. Through the years, I’ve tried dozens of iterations, and I’m dead serious about the above claim. The meat (with rice) was so tender, and amazingly flavorful. The seasoning, was unique to this iteration, and was flawlessly carried out. The cabbage was cooked to perfection as well. The typical pairing of tomato sauce accompanying the Guampky, was a perfect compliment to it, as usual. If you are a fan of sauerkraut, you most definitely will not be let down, as I was not. At Czapski’s you better believe it’s going to be traditional, and at the top of it’s game. It’s included with all of the Polish dinners on the menu. My wife’s dish, “City Chicken” was something that she loved, as a child. I watched in eager anticipation, as she took her first bite, closed her eyes, then stopped, and looked directly at me. She didn’t even say a word, and I knew that things just got serious. She hasn’t had City Chicken as good as Czapski’s, for almost 30 years! I tried it, and it was very good! The meat was juicy, and was full of flavor. If you’ve ever had City Chicken in the past, and have been searching for it, trust me, look no further. Topping off our experience, we ordered a piece of the chocolate mousse cake to share (from a nice selection of deserts). It was moist, fresh, quite delicious, and the proverbial cherry on top of a wonderful dining experience. Long story short, this was a special evening for my wife, and I. The menu isn’t five pages long, and for that I’m glad. The menu choices that are offered, are as good as it gets. When it comes to polish dishes, this is dining at its finest. There’s also some more classic American fare options as well: Pork Roast, Beef Brisket, and even harkening back to many of our childhood dinners, Pan-Fried Chicken Livers (You know you miss it!). This is by far my longest winded review, but trust me, I can’t express how much we appreciated finding a treasure such as this. We need more places like this, in all of our lives. It’s the little things that matter, and Czapski’s does it in spades.

Five of us met for lunch at Czapski's. We ordered a pretty good selection of items and everyone enjoyed their choice. I had the dill pickle soup, city chicken and a cold Polish beer and enjoyed every bit of lunch. The service was fast and friendly. The prices are good. I usually can't spare the time to drive 44 miles to lunch but I'm glad I did today.
