Great staff and food
Great food little slow on service
Excellent food and service, quiet atmosphere. Jeffrey served us, he was awsome and we will request him the next time we visit.
This restaurant is horribly RACIST. All and I mean ALL!!! the wait staff are white people. The Hispanics or blacks are relegated to Server assistant positions. The black women are relegated to food running along with the black men who cook (back of the house). The Owners are racists. They try to pull off the old trick of having one or two black women work the host stand. One of those black women being mixed race and ultra light skinned by the way. The owners are clearly trying to appeal to the pockets and patronage of PSYCOPATHIC/SOCIOPATHIC white middle and upper-class people, who for some strange reason have to eat in a sea of white faces in order for them to enjoy a restaurant, regardless of how good the food may be.I will be contacting the EEOC.This is a JIM crow!!! restaurant. There have been numerous incidents of racial hostility towards non white patrons-Steer clear!!!
Food is average. Restaurant atmosphere feels for certain type of clients. Service average waiter friendlier with other table's as gives preference who to serve faster.
Always good. Consistently among the best
Never ever disappointed. This is one of very few restaurants in Baltimore that it would be worth driving down from NYC to visit. The specials are "To Dine For"
Definitely going back
Food And service are excellent
Service was great. Food was even better. I had the tilapia with crab imperial, and it was wonderful
Great service . Professional and friendly staff. The astmosphere was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious.
Exceptional food and excellent wait staff.
Great place to have a fancy dinner or party! Great food and service.
Always a wonderful dining experience. Chili salmon was excellent.
Amazing meals with exceptional flavor combinations. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an amazing meal! Thanks also have a prix fixe menu! Great evening overall. Will go back again.
Great food
Excellent food, service, atmosphere. Very nice party hosted by the Holland Insurance Group
Delicious!
Quite relaxing restaurant with a good vibe and wonderful food
Spicy grilled shrimp salad was very dry and salt overpowered the flavor. The soup of the day was really good. Most of the table liked their food and it did look appetizing. I will give it another try. $35 + tip for lunch was pricey though. If you want dessert the Prix Fixe is the way to go.
What you'd expect. Knowledgeable staff
One of my favorite spots on the county!! I just tried their restaurant week but what stole the show was their massive cheeseburger. Pro tip - sit at the chefs counter and watch them make all the food. Great spot. Highly recommend
That was absolutely wonderful experience from the beginning to the end. The food is inventive and flavorful, the service is very professional and attentive, and the ambience is elegant and cozy. We are very lucky to have this Gem in our neighborhood. The only thing I was missing is the Chocolate bread pudding that was served when their Due part was open. The one we had on our recent visit was not the same version unfortunately. Though it was not bad ether it was tasting more like brownie rather then the pudding we still remember. But it was a tiny minus and we are very appreciative for the wonderful Anniversary Dinner we had at Linwoods.
The best of Baltimore. Always a great meal. Well run restaurant. Friendly staff.
Always great food.
Really nice.
Delicious food! Also, worth saving room for dessert!
2 words Totally Awersome. The food is like no other and service is the same. If u do not patronize Linwoods in Pikesville you will have truly missed the most ultimate Dining experience.
All around fine dinning experience
I just love this place
Great place for a high quality meal.
Beautiful and classic place. This place is one of my favorite restaurant in Baltimore.
Nicely appointed , warmly decorated very popular suurban restaurant great for special occasions and casual nights out.Food is consistently excellent.
Food was great and the service was attentive up until they forgot to put half of my guest leftovers in the to go bag. They loved their food but they were totally bumped when the got home and their soft shell crab entree was missing.
A lovely dining experience, one of our favorite restaurants
Great meal. Wonderful private room for a family gathering.
All of the food, drinks and dessert was excellent. Atmosphere is very upscale, elegant and nice. Slightly pricey.
Great ambience. The food was fantastic.
Service is hands down outstanding. The entire staff is tentative and genuinely cares about your experience while dining here. The food is average - if you dine around in Baltimore at this price point, you'll understand. The opinion is constant in our group. Favorite dish here is the grilled tenderloin salad.
Definitely posh and swanky, but the food is out of this world. Go there without a budget and be willing to experiment.
Amazing awesome and will return. Food drinks and desserts was 5 plus stars
This place is very nice. The menu has an awesome selection. The service was great!!! The wine selection is incredible
Stuffy crowd but good food and service. Staff takes the extra step to create a nostalgic experience.
Best in town
Outstanding dinner and the Calamari was the next I've EVER had. Incredibly good! 5 stars!
Great food. Great service. Reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere. What more could you want from a neighborhood restaurant?
very nice upscale restaurant
Compared to other fine restaurants near Baltimore such as Charleston, Rusty Scupper or Tersiguels, I honestly was disappointed with Linwoods. First, the restaurant’s ambience is uninteresting and lack of character-there’s no theme in the decor-not historical, not contemporary, not upscale, not quaint-not in any particular style-which would be ok for a restaurant with a scenic view or near attractions. But this one is in Owings Mills. The tables are very close so it’s not an ideal place for romantic or private conversations. We could hear the conversations from tables next to us when people weren’t even speaking loudly. The food was average. My husband had beef and I ordered sea bass-both mediocre, like their decor. We also had salad which was actually better than the entrees. Finally the service was average too. The lady who waited on us was polite but not warm or friendly. She checked on our table once during the entire meal. It was a busy Sat night and the restaurant was full, still with a restaurant marketed as fine dining, the service should be up to par with the price tag. For those who care to know, I was slightly stunned to notice that the customers in the whole restaurant were entirely white, 65+ seniors-at least on the evening we went. I was the only minority there (my husband is white). Maybe that was why the gentleman next table kept staring at us, either he wasn’t accustomed to see minority dining in this restaurant or he didn’t know we Asians typically look younger than our age so he thought my husband was robbing the cradle..Lol. (My husband is in mid 50s, I’m in late 40s). The lack of diveristy of the patrons in a restaurant doesn’t necessarily bother me, but it DOES say something about the restaurant itself. Normally a truly upscale fine restaurant near big cities tends to have a very diverse customer pool, and this one is not that far from Baltimore/DC. As far as I could see that night, their staff was as homogeneous as their patrons. Just something to keep in mind if you’re a minority and plan on visit.
Beautiful and elegant. Delicious food and extremely amazing service.
The food was excellent, the staff was excellent.
Was a little disappointed. The food was fine, but not great. The tilapia with crab imperial was OK. The tilapia was firm and moist, but the crab imperial was very mustardy with little crab meat. The waitress was generally flexible about requests for special dietary restrictions. Overall, an adequate place for a business lunch, if you aren't looking to make a huge impression.
Nothing but top notch quality gastronomy.
Above average food, excellent service. My steak was good but overcooked and no one checked. The accompanying fires were dry and flaccid
Always great food....French onion soup is ridiculous...sea bass is always excellent...even the pizza is great
Expensive. Slow service at bar. Delicious drinks. Food was ok but admittedly we only got a few basics. Nice atmosphere.
The pizza is so delicious
Food and service are top notch. The kitchen is wide open and almost part of the dining room.
Excellent food and service. They do not let your glass get empty.
Top shelf through and through. Staff, atmosphere, and of course, food. Someone should build a multistory structure on that crest just so the restaurant can relocate to the top floor.
Good food great service
Great food, great service!
Food is excellent, sometimes the service can be rushed if they are busy
Absolutely the best. Food & service are above reproach.
The Absolute Best !
One of my favorite restaurants!
Great atmosphere and service.
Love this place for partys and all the delicious food!!
The best...always!
Amazing tenderloin and potato hash
Amazing. Attended a bday party here and the food was exquisite. I had the halibut and it might have been the best piece of fish I ever ate. The crab soup was great as well.
Great Place. Very Nice. Excellent food.
Very nice. Food is excellent, service is very good.
Linwoods has been a stellar restaurant during my entire 24-year residence in Baltimore. It is a virtual repository for culinary knowledge and innovation. The 2018 Linwoods is a complex affair with tons of small plates, vegetarian dishes, a few of the old reliables and new taste experiences that are arresting and unique. Last night was a great case in point. I made a great light dinner from two of the small plates, the sprouts caesar and the lobster tempura. Both were fabulous. The lobster was tender and sweet in a very light crusty coating, and the sauteed sprouts were completely unique with a sort of caesar sauce punctuated by a sriracha sprinkle. My dining partner chose a summer tomato salad with avocado, radishes, wonderful burrata, and a variety of greens and a few green cherry tomatoes which had been flash fried with a balsamic vinaigrette sprinkle. The main course was a flatbread pizza smothered with fresh crab, corn, basil and cheese with fresh tomato. No sauce. Crispy crust. Delightful. Our only regret was not saving room for dessert. I had my eye on a lemon-coconut cake with raspberry coulis but alas, my eyes turned out to be bigger than my stomach. There will be a next time at Linwoods. Service was perfect as well and the physical surroundings lush and comfortable. As someone once said, "try it, you'll like it!"
This restaurant was on the expensive side but the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Presentation was well thought out.
Came here for a date night with my wife. Awesome! Great service, great food, great atmosphere...Excellent restaurant.
Amazing restaurant and amazing quality food. The drinks are very good as well - especially the campfire cider. I will definitely be coming back here again!
A little expensive but super good
Great food at a good price. Nice special occasion restaurant
My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and took our son and his fiance to dinner. Most everything was very good. A couple of things that weren't, the young man rushing around filling water glasses kicked the back of my chair 11 times on his many trips around the restaurant. I complained to our waiter but nothing changed. The worst part was my wife asked for decaf coffee, to the point where when the waiter brought the coffee she said swear to me this is decaf, which he did. At 3AM my wife still couldn't get to sleep because the waiter did not bring decaf. That didn't make for a happy day at work.We liked most everything about the restaurant but these simple things take on added importance when one spends over $300 for a nice but simple meal. Unfortunately, these kind of simple but unpleasant things happen just about every time we go there.
Our Christmas party couldn't have been better. Pleasant atmosphere, delicious food, impeccable service. Perfect way to start the holiday season
Been here often. Atmosphere is very nice and food is delicious.
Excellent service. The food is delectable. A great fine dining experience.
great food and service
I love it! The food and service was absolutely awesome! Thanks
Great restaurant near Baltimore. Eat here every time I visit the city. Had our 4th or 5th visit this week. As always, the food was amazing and the staff is so warm, friendly and attentive. I live in Philly where there are many great restaurants very close to home. Funny that our favorite restaurant is in suburban Baltimore.
Great food. A bit pricey but wonderful kitchen.
Good food, great service. Excellent desserts. Dressy and expensive though.
Food is very good. Traditional with some unique twists. Definitely an older crowd, but all are welcome. A reservation is recommended. Only reason not five stars is because of the pricing.
Wonderful dining experience...great service
Great atmosphere, service, food and love that Linwood or managers come to table about meal.
Great food!!! Really good service. Nice place. Upscale. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants.
Our favorite place for dining on our anniversary. Great good, wonderful service
This is one of those very cool, very trendy high-end restaurants. It's not just good food but it's good food prepared artistically. I got a burger which was perfect for me that day and most of the people at my table got fish and they have some wonderful fish choices. Service is very good and the place has lots of parking.
First time here as a special occasion dinner after working a near 14.5 hour day...GREAT way to unwind and loved the attentions to detail. Great atmosphere if you like the shirt and tie crowd.
Food Delicious!
Shrimp and grits. Delicious! Great service.
They have great CRAB CAKE
The food and drinks are out of this world I love this place
My niece had her 50th birthday party here last night and we had a great time. The place is beautiful, food delicious, and the staff was very professional, kind and friendly. I would highly recommend visiting or having an event here.
We had a wonderful time at Linwood's. Good food and great service!
The best food and service. Great private dining experience.
Expensive and good. Fun place and good food, very attentive staff
Food, ambience, service ;all of it was stellar, and i find that to be too rare these days. Highly recommended.
Spectacular. Never disappoints.
Great crab dishes... Had the crab soup and it was brimming with lump crab. And then the crab cakes, great!! So much crab!
It was a wonderful dinner. Very good food. The beer was warm and waiter didn't think it was a big deal.
Went here for Valentines day dinner and was very impressed. the food and wine were amazing and loved the atmosphere.
Food is always xcelleny
Love the chef table. Great food and service
Top tier customer service, elegant dining environment, excellent food.
We celebrated my mom's 70th birthday with dinner at Linwoods. From my perspective based on my dishes, the food was wonderful. I had the tuna tartar, beef tenderloin, and the dark chocolate smores. My wife, on the other hand, was not pleased with the food, with both her deviled eggs and crab cakes being overloaded with Dijon mustard, so much so that she didn't enjoy them. The most underwhelming part of the meal, however, was the erratic, inattentive, and somewhat rude service. It took close to 10 minutes for our waitress, Barbara, to introduce herself to our table, and the entire meal was just a comedy of awkward interactions, rude movements, and inattentive habits. It took 3 trips to the table to deliver our drinks, she kept mixing drink orders up, and it took 3 reminders to get a booster seat for my daughter. Multiple times during the meal, several plates and utensils were removed while still in use without a question as to if we were done with them. She regularly leaned over and on the table, often in between two conversing people. The chaos that ensued when entrees were served was comical, with neither she nor the runners knowing who got which dish. Dessert was served with no utensils and the coffee with chocolate liqueur my sister ordered came out as an Irish coffee instead. The food was well-prepared for the most part, but for a restaurant that is regularly listed in the top echelon of Baltimore restaurants, and for a meal that eclipsed the $400 mark, the service left MUCH to be desired.
Linwoods is one of my favorite places to dine in Owings Mills. I love the shrimp and grits and pork chop dishes. I've visited this restaurant several times and normally they are spot on with service and food quality. The last time we visited the shrimp and grits wasn't quite as good as I'm accustomed to at Linwoods but this is certainly not the norm.
This place is probably one of the best restaurants around Baltimore/Pikesville area. The food is absolutly amazing and the atmosphere is very chic. The servers are extremly nice and have great knowledge. In the appetizer menu I absolutly love their shrimp tempora roll and their seasonal beets salad. Also their wine list is amazing and our server did a beautiful job pairing our wine with our food.
Atmosphere look Great, I guest prices has to be greater.
One of our favorite go-to restaurants in Baltimore County. It’s an amazing restaurant for a special occasion or an elegant date night out. You can also sit up at the hot grill and dine while watching the chefs at work (and sometimes Linwood himself) in the open kitchen. If you are a foodie, this is for you! From their delicious pizzas to elegant Chilean Sea Bass or perfectly cooked filet, everything on the menu is incredible. And I never miss dessert at Linwoods. My favorite way to end the meal is with their gourmet ice cream sundae!
First time there what a fantastic experience. Absolutely love Tiffany ❤️. A must.
Very nice! The food was delicious!
I'm not a picky eater, not at all but the food was awful. I had heard from my sister that it was good but even she was disappointed with the food when we went recently. The service was great but if I'm going to a restaurant I would like to get a piece of meat that isn't burnt. That is my personal opinion. I was really hoping for a better experience but unfortunately this is not a place I would go to again.
A local institution apparently. Totally hidden away in what looks like an office building. Had a spectacular meal there.
My favorite place to dine, service is always great and food is delicious. The atmosphere is the best
On the higher end money-wise, but runs like a well-oiled machine fast efficient quality food and drink
Excellant place for the lunch aevice and food were first class.
A plethora of yummy selections
It is a very pricey restaurant, great Servers and hostess specially Ruby. Will be back soon.
Linwoods consistently pleases with delicious food served in a welcoming atmosphere. The service is topnotch and compliments the beautifully presented dishes. The menu highlights seasonal dishes as well. You can't go wrong. Great for special occasions too.
Excellent service and very upscale
Not cheap, but very very good food and extremely professional and helpful staff. I'll come back.
Beautiful atmosphere. Great food.
Good quality of food. Nice atmosphere. Fast service most of the time.
beware of gail kaplan classic catering c photo TRUTH
Good food small amount of food for price
I attended a wedding in early Oct and the catering staff was outstanding. I was having swallowing issues at the time, and could not eat any of the plated food options - the staff actually went out to buy a blender (there wasn't one at the venue) so that the chef could make me something to eat. The staff came back to check on me a few times to make sure I was ok. I was extremely grateful for this, and would recommend Linwoods to anyone.
If I could give a higher rating I would best service ever!
Food was mediocre. It wasn't bad. Just very safe with flavors and spices. I had shrimp and grits, crab soup, and an apple tarte. The service was great. The space is beautiful. The customer service is great. It was nice to check my coat at the door and set in a cozy corner area secluded from noise for my birthday date night. I may be extremely biased about shrimp and grits as a southern gal. The grits were creamy and shrimp was cooked well (not over or under) but the only flavor seemed to be the peppers added.
Linwood's is perfect. Perfect food, perfect service, perfect ambience. And the customers DRESS appropriately.
Limited menu, but very tasty.
Fantastic food. Thank goodness I wasn't paying....bring your bank book, it is pricey
The star rating breaks down for Linwood’s. It deserves a sixth star as it is a cut above virtually every other restaurant in Baltimore. The service is excellent and not overbearing. The cocktails are great. And then there is the food. The flavors are exquisite. The preparation always perfect. The wines terrific. Whether you want a high end dining experience or the best hamburger and fries on the planet you can’t go wrong at Linwood’s. Special tip: you can order the warm chocolate sauce to take home.
I would like to very much thank Sherrie, Ellen and all the Staff at Linwoods for the planning, directing, fantastic food and all the time spent with us making our Daughters Wedding a fabulous day. Everyone went above and beyond the call of duty and our Guests all raved about the delicious food and appetizers and great service. We are very very glad we chose Linwoods as our Caterer for this great event, they don't only cater but also very much make sure the Wedding Party knows what they are doing which is very much necessary and appreciated. Thank you Linwoods !
Food was great service was great and prices are reasonably
Town staple. Perhaps what stands out the most besides very tasty food and wide variety of options is the fact that Linwood Dame has been delivering so consistently for so long. This is not a TV chef that you never see in his kitchen, this is where local area career-minded chefs come to grow.
Great food but pricey
Great staff and service. Good atmosphere. Mature/older crowd.Bartender was very friendly, food selection and food quality was good.
Food was great. Upscale restaurant. Calamari was delicious and the sea bass was to die for. Will visit again.
If I could give Linwood's 500 stars, I would. They catered our wedding and did the most phenomenal job. Not only did our guests RAVE about the food and the service they received at our wedding, Sherri, their catering manager made it impossible for us to feel anything but confident that she and her staff would make the day go off without a hitch. She quickly adjusted to last minute changes due to rain, provided extra service to my groom and I that was outside of our contract, and convinced me I didn't need an actual event planner at least 4 times throughout the planning process. Because of Linwood's our wedding was the most magical evening, and I could not be more grateful for them.
One of my favorite night cap/Appetizer locations. Their drink menu has a lot of options for everyone. Their pineapple Infused Martini is out of this world! Order the Large Tuna Tartar, you won’t be disappointed!
Excellent food excellent service nice atmosphere! I will be coming back again.
great food and presentation
good
Food was delicious but service slow. Maybe understaffed for the evening.
Excellent meal, as always!
The food was good but the service was slow.
We go here to treat ourselves or for special dinners. The food is excellent and they change seasonal offerings (seasonally I guess). The top tier service makes us feel pampered, crumbing the table, clearing used plates or silverware between courses, etc. For a more casual meal try sitting at the bar or on the grill line to look into the kitchen.
Beautiful place and excellent food BUt $58 for 2 Crab Cakes/slaw Waitress should have told us the price as it was mkt price Will not do that again
My wife and I went here to celebrate our 20 wedding anniversary and boy was I very disappointed. When we arrived, our reservation was not for this evening, it was supposedly for next Saturday.....I also had inquired, with whomever I had spoken with when making the reservation, about Restaurant Week, and was told there was a miscommunication. Then my dinner came out and the burger was rare and sent back. Dessert was compensated and I am not sure if we'll be returning any time soon.
Good food and service
