I went here the other day for its open mic event. It was small however not very crowded and had a very welcoming environment. I enjoyed a small platter of assorted fruit and cheese that was served on a fancy granite slab that sort of resembled something you would pay 60$ for at a 5 star restaurant.

If you are looking for a great location to have a gathering Courtney and her staff are on point. This is the one place where you feel like family. I've put the pressure on them a couple of times with a large group and the staff knocked it out of the park.

One of our favorite spots in Portland! Absolutely the best staff ever, super friendly, laid back but professional and the food is great, beer is cold and gluten free options for the wife (with Celiac's) is awesome. You'll never go wrong here!

Good happy hour drink deals 4-6pm, $2 bottled beers. I had the Dogfish Burger thought it was a wonderful combination of flavors. Was cooked properly to order as well. Good service and nice atmosphere.

A solid 5 stars from me . We were a party of 8 ,broken down into 3 checks . I oredered a variety from the menu ,because the reviews online are all over the map so I wanted to see for my self . Everything was delicious and our waitress was on point through the entire experience . Our checks came , my check for the three people I was paying for was $103 plus change . I handed the waitress my visa ,then put $21.00 cash on the table .generally ,I tip %20 and I usually tip in cash so the waitress isn’t forced to claim it. One of the others in our party noted that a tip was already applied to our checks . I was automatically charged $16.39 , so I put my cash back in my pocket . I understand it’s common practice for restaurants to include the tip with a party of 6 or more . I’m adult enough to figure out what my tip should be ,even with my high school education . In this case , the restaurant screwed the waitress out of an additional $5 in cash tip . The $16.39 was subject to the visa percentage charge and income tax . if I ever go back it will be a last option on a busy hockey night ..

I visit Dogfish Bar and Grille weekly for trivia with friends. It's one of my favorite places in town to stop into and hang out for a bit with a beer, chat either inside or out on the deck, or relax after work. The staff is one of the friendliest groups of people I've met at any restaurant in town, and my be *the* friendliest from my experiences. Beer rotates frequently and they get some great ones on tap at a near-constant pace. The wine list is curated to fit a low to medium price budget as well and has had some standouts (I'm not really a wine guy). For food, they specialize in pub-styled snacks like the pretzels (which are great), nachos, sandwiches and burgers, but the entrees, while few, rotate and are delicious. If you can run into the meatloaf during the winter (not sure if that's on the menu for the summer), you should get it. And even more so for the turkey pot pie soup. That stuff is what dreams are made of. Not to mention they have a mug club with specials on certain days for cheap pours of certain beers. I don't remember how much it is, but it's a great deal for someone like me who goes once a week.

We ended up at the Dogfish grille after our first choice (Nosh) had a 45 minute wait on a Saturday night. We were say right away and service was friendly and fast. The food was ok, mostly burgers and sandwiches and a couple of specials. I wasn't that hungry so had a cup of their seafood chowder and tried the pretzels. Seafood chowder was tasty, rich so a cup was plenty. The pretzel app comes with 2 small soft pretzels, a good appetizer for 2 or 4 people. The pretzel tasted good at first when it was warm, but as it cooled off it seemed apparent it was pre-made, very chewy to the point where it was starting to hurt my jaw. It came with mustard which was fine, I wish they had other options (like a cheese sauce or garlic butter or something). I had a bite of the burger and it was ok, decent but not memorable. They don't have the option of fries, just chips, potato salad, or Cole slaw. Beer list was ok, the servers were nice but no offers to refill water while we were there. They were setting up live music as we were leaving but we left before they started. Not sure I'd go back but it was an ok dinner. Basic food if you are in a rush and ok with a simple meal.

Free Street Sandwich. Dogfish's main attraction. It's fantastic. Dogfish is a great spot for trivia, food or drinks. Small but fun atmosphere, and great outdoor deck seating if you can snag it. Great live music too. My one issue with Dogfish is their lack of french fries. Really? No fries? I'm pretty sure that's more of a standard issue than silverware in a restaurant.

We're visiting Portland, Maine from Portland, Oregon, where we enjoy the best micro breweries in the country AND the best burgers! BUT the burger I ate tonight at The Dogfish Bar and Grill was not only cooked to perfection (medium rare for me), the flavors of complimenting condiments with a pile of fresh romaine lettuce on a gluten free bun, won my heart over.

Started out waiting 10-15 min for our waitress to come for our drink orders. By the time she came, we were ready to order our food but she told us that she "had things to do" so she could only take our drink orders. Wrong drinks. Waited more, placed orders. Food was good but definitely overpriced...$30 for 2 sandwiches and water! Waited forever to get the check, and she was busy talking to her coworker and didn't see us trying to wave to her. Never refilled drinks. It wasn't even busy. If we hadn't gone through such a hassle to find and pay for parking, we would have left when she refused to take our order. The food was good, so that's why I even gave 2 stars.

My friends and I were excited for dinner at around 7:20 but were turned away here even though they closed at 8. I work at a restaurant and we accept people until we close. The server that turned us away was very rude about us asking to be seated. Not a welcoming establishment. You can find plenty of other nicer places to eat in Portland.

The website said Happy Hour, Mon. through Friday 4-6. We arrived at 4, just as they were opening, and were told Happy Hour starts at 5, by a dour, unfriendly bartender. I showed her the place, on the website where it says 4 -6. She gave me some excuse about another website they don't have control over???? The website, I showed her was their website. The right thing to do would be to not charge us for our drinks, then we may have stuck around and ordered food. Nope, and the drink was lousy, tasted like ice water. We are an older couple and wondered if that might be a factor. Regardless, we will never go back or recommend it to any one. PS Next day, checked the website and Happy Hour info was taken down, so they do have control over the website. Bad way to do business.

Small menu, but great food. Beer selection is good, great live music. However....If you go there expecting mango chutney on your Caribbean jerked chicken, BE WARNED, they didn't have any last time I was there.
