Used to eat here regularly. Then I got food poisoning... Twice. This was in the summer of 2015. Manager was rude and the place was dirty. So bad I deactivated my VIP card with them. Update. The owner has called me about 5 or 6 times. I hung up him and he kept calling. He said if I didn't talk to him "something was going to happen." He got my name from the VIP card I deactivated. I am seriously considering filing a police report because it came off as a threat. He can see my history of orders so he can see the last time I purchased anything there. His calling is purely to cause harassment and he keeps calling from a private number.

They got half our order right. Then the employee apologized and offered a pastery as a compensation for the trouble of waiting an additional 10 minutes. Then her manager recended the offer and reprimanded her for offering a comp right in front of us. To be fair, the food was good. The waiting area was kind of cramped. The staff were friendly.

Quality food but so-so service. I come to Portland House of Pizza fairly regularly. Their food is delicious and the price is pretty decent for the amount of food you get. However, I've started using this place as only a takeout place, due to the long wait for food and the chaotic and noisy interior. One of the last times I went, we waited for our food for over 45 minutes. They thankfully gave us a voucher for $10 off the next order, but even when we went for that it still took around 25-30 minutes. Would definitely recommend for quick lunch, if you have time to wait.

Portland House of Pizza is our go-to take-out place and we are there once every 2 weeks or so, on average, for the last several years. The food is consistently good and they're often creating new menu items (the Thai Kwon Dough pizza is our fave - YUM!). The management is super friendly and open to feedback, and the staff is always nice and helpful. I highly recommend PHOP, and they often have special deals or GC contests on Facebook, so I recommend following them there.

I’ve gone to Portland house for a long time. They were always quick and high quality. Lately their quality has been less than adequate. I ordered a cheese burger sub with no onion, and it came with onions on it. I called and asked for another one which they did make me, but even that one had a few onions on it. Two screwed up subs in a row was the last straw. I’ll never order from them again

My server was Jessica very presentable and friendly. When I was undecided she suggested a pizza. Being very picky about my pizza I had doubts but she assured me I wouldnt be disappointed! I took her word, pizza it was. I was very very pleased and have found my new spot for my visits to Portland! Thank you Jessica for a great experience I will be back often!

I've driven by this place dozens of times when im up in Portland. Never gave much thought of going in, i decided to with some friends. Good quality pizza, much better than Amato's. Highly recommend if you are looking for pizza in Portland.

I used to really enjoy coming here but they've been slipping a bit for the last year or two. The steak sandwiches, once overstuffed and a solid deal have become smaller. The hand cut fries, once hot and crisp are now oily and soggy and lukewarm. Today I discovered that they will not take a credit card # over the phone because "they've had trouble with that". I've never heard of any restaurant having this as a policy in my life. This would seem to tell you that either 1) people were giving them stolen credit card numbers, which is unlikely given that you can make a phone call and lock/cancel a card in minutes or 2) more likely they had a problem with staff writing down CC information from customers and then using them. It has been a pretty disappointing slide for a place that I used to frequent every time I came home to Maine.

I ordered online and had difficulty registering. Imputing my DOB was nearly impossible with a mobile device. I finally gave up and checked out as a guest. My pizza was ready when I got to the location a few minutes early. The employees at the counter were friendly however my order was not double checked and one of my three pizzas was switched with someone else's order. The "large" pizzas are a bit price as they are only 14" but this is better pizza than anything else within 10 miles of my house. The layer that is put between the pizza and the box is much better than the waxed paper used by most pizza places. The layer keeps everything from becoming a greasy or sticky mess on the long ride home. A little pricy for a large family or party, but a nice treat from time to time. I will remember to pop open my boxes and check my pies before I leave the next time I order.

I had been a very loyal customer of The Portland House of Pizza for more than a few years. The food is a bit overpriced, but it was usually well prepared and tasty. I was a member of their VIP rewards program and I ordered online often. I had the same information for the entire time I ordered from them. One particular evening I waited a very unreasonable time for my order. I put in the instructions that the driver needed to call me because the buzzer system in my building didn't work. A driver who delivered to me a few days earlier had no problem calling me. So, I kept seeing a driver with their Roof top sign coming in and out of the complex driveway. After well after an hour I call them and cancel the order. They said the driver tried to call and said I gave them the wrong number. Like I said earlier, I often ordered online and my phone number was always the same. So, I check and the last digit of the phone number I used for years was a 5, not a 6. I didn't change it! Even my email address was erased. No culpability. There are other places to eat and a lot cheaper

After my first (and last) visit to PHOP, it was a definite PHLOP. Although the staff was friendly, the cheese steak sandwich I ordered was dry and terrible and the cheese pizza I ordered for my daughter was marginal at best. Sorry, but this was not what I expected from a place with such great reviews. :-(

We've lived in the neighborhood for 3 years now. Washington avenue Portland House of Pizza is always our go to place for a take out or a quick bite. The customer service here is superb EVERY time we go. We are always greeted by a smiling employee. It's very refreshing to have a local business that we can count on for consistency with great quality of food and service. Thank you everyone who works there for all the great work you do. And if you haven't been there yet....do it! You won't be dissapointed.

How unprofessiona. I placed an order and was waiting an hour and 10 mins. To only call and the girl who answered said “ yes it’s bagged up and ready to go. Give it 10 mins waiting on the driver “ then she hangs up on me. I call back and she transfers me to the manager named Justin. He gets on the phone confused as I am .. mind you as a manager he was rude, snarky attitude. Telling me the driver was banging on the door called no. I was downstairs waiting. Opened the door and he drove off. First off, someone owes me an apology. For a manager you should be embarassed at how all your staff doesn’t communicate. Second, for being as rude as he was on the phone. Disgusting. I will file a compliment to someone higher then “ Justin “.

Really good food. Tomato basil soup, and small pizza with ricotta topping was amazing. Tastes were fresh and delicious. I have a hazy memory of a greasy House of Pizza Pie from well over a decade ago - this was nothing (!) like that! Either the place has changed hands, or they've upgraded everything. Portland House of Pizza is worth seeking out!

I still Love,& remain A loyal-patron,preferring their pizza specifically There is a large selection of choices ;and prices have remained reasonable - .despite Fluctuating prices at times,I've yet to see it reflected in the cost - ,w/ prices remaining consistent over the years .. rare to see this type behavior within the food industry. As it'usually impacts the Consumer- This established is not only A neighborhood favorite ; but extends in other neighborhoods city-wide with the Many that prefer them,,which is evident simply by Their cont'd longevity within the community.. The establishment itself is a very inviting, pizzeria-style casual. Family-friendly atmosphere. Cleanliness is five-star ,which is perhaps the most-important for me ; And the condition ,& cleanliness are very good indicators of this extending into The prep,& handling practices w/ Respect to the food that is served To the public .. I Hope they stay in our city forever.

This restaurant, the first thing you notice is the cleanliness. From when you pull into the parking to entering the lobby, every area is cleaned neat and kept up regularly. One time the restrooms needed a little attention and I let someone at counter know about it, immediately someone went straight away to take care of it. The store manager is super friendly, helpful, and his assistant managers are just as much so. If all that wasn't enough, the food is delicious with such a wide variety of menu options including gluten free pizza, all kinds of salads and sandwiches, fried foods and any customization to an order has never been a problem. Even with delivery, its timely, the drivers are nice and in the rare cases that there is a problem with one of my orders, whatever managers in charge at the time makes it zero problem to correct it and even compensate me for the mistake. 5 star review for a 5 star restaurant, the only place to go for great tasting and quality food in Portland, Portland House of Pizza.

We have been going to Portland House of Pizza for years. We absolutely love their pizza. Their hand cut fries are really good. Their steak bomb sandwich is one of the best tasting cheese steak sandwich’s I have had in years. Very nice staff, delivery guys and gals are always nice and on time. Portland house of Pizza is a Greek style house of pizza featuring fresh dough pizzas that have well spiced sauce topped with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses blended. They have a large menu including many wraps, salads and sandwiches. They cater, have online ordering, and can accommodate very large orders. Portland house of pizza is a very consistent independent Greek style house of pizza well worth trying.

The food is very good and priced about what Amato'a and/or Pizza Hut would be. They have a lot on their menu too, I was impressed by their selection. Be careful taking a left out of the parking lot as you got to cross over 3 lanes of traffic, don't let that stop you from eating there however. Oh and while a white pizza isn't on their menu they will make one if you ask them.

I get that having alot of orders may be confusing but to chase me down to my car and grab the food right out of my hand cause its wrong is a bit much. Keep better track of your orders and dont give me the wrong sandwich. Not worth the time or the money. Go to anywhere but here. Awful.
