This Catering belongs to the category of Seafood restaurant.
Crawfish had great flavor. A bit pricey and bare bones (only offered potatoes and sausage. No corn, garlic, mushrooms).
Great to pick up and go
Excellent food and super friendly staff.
Fun outdoor space to crack open some crawfish and tip a brew with your friends.
Delicious fried seafood...crisp, not at all greasy. Looking forward to trying boiled seafood next time!
Great low key crawfosh boil.
It was good
Great food and atmosphere. First time eating crawfish...delicious!
Best crawfish and catfish! Everything on menu is delicious. Great place, great food, great people! Our group had a lot of fun and enjoyed the food. Staff was friendly. We will be back!
Placed a large take out order and it was fantastic. Fried catfish, jambalaya, and debris fries are a must! Looking forward to getting into the crawfish next time we're back in NOLA.
The crawfish and shrimp was very good and seasoned
Always a pleasure!
Most amazing crawfish in the city. Will blow your mind
I went for the catfish and they delivered. It was very good. They were serving a lot of boiled crawfish to a full house on a Sunday night. I recommend it.
Debris fries are delicious!
Great for crawfish and a fun outdoor atmosphere. The service was friendly, but they clearly had a hard time handling our large party.
Food was great and the service staff was friendly and helpful. Would Deff recommend... Inside and outside seating.
Amazing crawfish boil! Food is excellent and the service is great! Chris was so friendly and helped us know what to order. Will definitely be back when we're in town!
The boiled seafood was good. I'm from New Orleans so I can be pretty strict with the traditions of the city.. Pretty small, and friendly staff.
Excellent crawfish, cool outdoor seating atmosphere, and friendly wait staff. Didn't think their sides were that great (potatoes and corn; sausage wasn't available), but overall pretty good.
Authentic cajun crawfish boil. Friendly service and tasty food. Come here and eat lots
The food is incredible! Best fried catfish you'll ever eat, perfectly boiled crawfish, plus jambalaya cheese fries? And that bread pudding will make you slap your momma AND dem!
The crawfish were great.
Very good seafood especially the crawfish! The service got a little bit slow due to a lot of catering order but the waiters and waitresses are very friendly and made sure I got my food at the end and with a discount.
We had a private boil with Clesi's and couldn't have been happier with the quality of the food and the people that came by to do the boil. One of the highlights of our trip.
Staff were very nice and friendly, went the extra mile for our celebration. Food was amazing #eatoutside #datenight
Head and shoulders above all others! The best boiled Crawfish in town. Catfish po boy also delicious. Very nice people and my new favorite place.
The server was horrible and treated his girlfriend with her friend better than he did me, my wife & kids. The food wasn’t what I expected, will never go back here again even it was my last option!
I’m really sad to write this review, but I’m writing because I hope the owners will see an address a quality control issue. Let me start by saying I loved Clesi’s. It’s the only place that serves crawfish like my family does and the shrimp are great as well. I’ve also had the catfish on previous nights at Treo and loved it. Today we went to their new location on Bienville and I was really disappointed. There seems to be a quality control issue. When I bit into one of the catfish I couldn’t swallow because the smell was so bad—like they’d gone bad. Some of the pieces tasted fine (tho very under seasoned), but when I ate a bad filet it was really bad. To their credit, I didn’t bring it up with out waiters or the manager—they seemed really nice and probably could have taken care of it, but I’m just generally uncomfortable doing that and bit the bullet. My boyfriend got the shrimp and they were fine and the fried broccoli was good and interesting, but the fish were just really bad. I’ll be back for crawfish season, but I don’t think I could eat the catfish again. Sad about it but hope it gets better because I do really like the business. P
Food, service, and atmosphere was excellent
Great service. Awesome food at good prices.
Always good. I flew in just for lunch here. Nice that NoLa is only 50m flight from Austin because if I had to live further, I’d be upset. These folks always throwin down on the boil. If ya haven’t been, stop what you’re doing now. This place has a sweet spot in the neighborhood away from the crowded streets of the FQ. Cornhole and other fun games, great patio deck to relax on and cozy inside restaurant. Staff is quick and friendly
Food was five star. Service a three. They were slammed, and seemed a little befuddled. Forgot order items etc. But everyone was very friendly. I don't want to ding them too much. Also, the middle aged male waiter was coughing into his hand, then serving food. Eww.
Clesi's did our party catering (40 people) at the Catahoula Hotel on June 8. The correspondence with the team (Sonya) before the event was great. Gilbert and the team turned up 1 hour prior to the event and served up jambalaya, BBQ shrimp and sides. Great food and great service!!!
Delicious food, great service and awesome environment! Fresh boiled crawfish by the pound and comfortable and chill outdoor seating.
Best Slow Boil in New Orleans. James Clesi, his brother and the crew are amazing. The locals come on a regular basis. Friendly place to eat and hang out, but the food!!!! Oh boy so good!!
Woah Nelly! Everything was amazing... excited about the new location.
The crawfish was awesome. Seasoned to protection. Can't complain about that. Only thing was they were short staffed and we were not notified of the wait time for crawfish. Took over an hour to get crawfish after being seated. But other that jambalaya and gumbo were also on point. Definitely be back again.
Great taste and fresh!
Wonderful! The service was excellent, and we really enjoyed the laid-back attitude of the staff. They were super cool and willing to show us how to eat crawfish. Great place to enjoy crawfish and oysters. Super reasonably priced, and the bread pudding desert was amazing.
Great place to eat. Delicious food for a great price. Very affordable. Will be returning for more
Clesi's is great. They're figuring out their systems and service is getting quicker. The service has always been friendly though. The food is outstanding. The crawfish can be pricey, but good luck finding better crawfish or ones that are available anytime of day, pretty much every day of the week.
Great old fashioned and super tasty crawfish
Good boiled crawfish
The food was tasty but the plates were incomplete and a couple of them were not as requested. The wait time was beyond what you'd expect at any laid-back restaurant even more so considering that the menu isn't very elaborate. I'd give it one more try as the food was good.
Outstanding fried shrimp on the po'boy and the platter. Don't sleep on the fried broccoli & remoulade, either. Can't wait to watch the boiler in action come crawfish season.
New favorite crawfish place. They use some secret ingredient in the boil that I cannot identify but is delicious. The seafood po boys are expertly fried and overstuffed. Ask the price for crawfish before you order!
Went with a group of friends while in NOLA. Great food and staff
Food was tremendous, the staff is extremely attentive and respectful. Prices are honestly not too shabby at all. Fully recommend :)
Pretty good crawfish, just slightly on the underseasoned side.
Outdoor seating, relaxed atmosphere and great crawfish by the pound!
It was alright the first crab I had was good, the other 5 had little to no meat and it seemed to be reheated
Great people! Great food!
Great crawfish, jambalaya fries, and drink. Music was lame and Care Bears was on the tv. Weird but cool place.
Good but pricey....would come back in
Amazing food. Staff was outstanding as well. I will be going back.
My husband had the catfish po'boy & I had the shrimp po'boy. They were both delicious! The service was outstanding and everyone was super friendly. Clesi's will be a regular stop when we come to New Orleans.
Delicious food! I recommend the jambalaya cheese fries and the crawfish queso.
Spicy mud bugs! Seemed dark at first, but I'll label it romantic lighting cos they are being considerate of their neighbors. Everything we ate was delicious. They only lost a star cos butter wasn't liquid when served.
Seafood.....Excellent. Service good and very nice staff. First visit today, but not the last time going there. Nice evening on the patio!
The crawfish here is so good. I visited right as they were coming into season too. If you're not good with spice though, I'd advise caution. The corn you can order with it is also a little spicy. The potatoes are not. The fried catfish was also prepared really well. I usually taste the catfish-y muddy taste at most places that prepare catfish but theirs, nothing. It was almost like white meat fish from the ocean. I really enjoy their gumbo as well. A lot of places I've been to in New Orleans tend to make it a little too salty (like they've been sitting at the stovetop a little too long) but this place was just right. The shrimp was good but I've had better. Crawfish is where it's at here.
The place is a hole in the wall but the food and people are shining stars. Love the place. Had the catfish basket which just won area best of and crawfish, which was great. Owner took the time to show us proper crawfish form and talk about other local spots.
Great Crawfish and service. The place is amazing.
Friendly staff, great crawfish, cold beer
Great food and service
Crawfish and broiled oysters are amazing here!
Great food. Great prices. Love the outdoor seating
fresh but salty
Simple seafood menu, affordable, tasty. I had crawfish for the first time - really tasty and fun. It’s obvious why Clesi’s is famous for crawfish. Crawfish are messy, like eating lobster and unexpectedly spicy. The restaurant is small but it has a huge patio - I recommend sitting out there if the weather allows it. No parking here, find something on a nearby side street. Most items available for take out, except for crawfish. Worth a visit!
Best crawfish + friendly service = leaving full & happy Clesi's is the New Orleans crawfish place that everyone should try once. It seemed to attract locals and the staff was super friendly and helpful to out-of-town folks. I visited on a hot day and we were greeted by a very friendly woman who made sure we knew about the happy hour specials and helped us order. A lot of the staff stopped to chat with us. As a visitor from Chicago, I was even got a small demonstration on how to properly eat crawfish. The food was absolutely amazing and fresh. Thank you Clesi's for the amazing food and I highly recommend this place to anyone & everyone!!
Great local place to experience NOLA.
It's my first time to have boiled crawfish, and they didn't fail my expectations!! Great spice and flavor, really good price as well! If you're looking for great seafood, you should visit this place!
We loved the crawfish by the pound and jambalaya! The food was great, our server Chris was patient with us, especially when we kept asking for another pound of crawfish or serving of jambalaya.
Great crawfish and theg even teach you how to eat it. We ordered 1 lb. first and then got more. It was delicious!!! We didn't order enough corn, sausage and potatoes though. Yummy food!!!
Excellent boiled seafood and their jambalaya is some of the best I've had.
The fried fish platter was amazing!!! Great service & clean restaurant!
Great food, friendly staff, new place lookx great. Love them mud-bugs
Nice small neighborhood restaurant good food
This was the best food I've had in New Orleans. Fresh, well-seasoned, and super tasty. For great boiled shrimp and crab, visit Clesi's. Won't regret it
Good sea food
Great atmosphere..great crawfish..will definitely be back!
How is this the best crawfish in New Orleans ?!?!? Ordered 10lbs had to wait over an hour to get them with only 18 people in the whole place. Finally got them....they were hot with heat, and that's where the good part stops. They were so salty , in fact that's all you could taste. The meat was so soggy you couldn't pull the meat from a pinched tail...I've been cooking and eating crawfish for years......I wanted to try them in the big easy, but not this place not ever again. Only got 50% of the tail meat out. I gave up and left the table and the rest of the bugs there. I cant believe I waited an hour for that!!!!
Amazing crawfish
Best Boil in town.
I was born and raised in south Louisiana and have to say Clesi's is consistently the best boiled crawfish you can find, period.
AMAZING FOOD!!! Some of the best crawfish and catfish I have had from a restaurant! The staff here was amazing and made my family feel as if we were theirs. Me and my wife were in such an intense conversation about how great this place was that we missed our exit to get home lol. Thanks for the experience and food!!!!
My husband and I visited New Orleans with our children last week and we decided to eat dinner here. It was kid friendly however the service that we received was awful. The host was kind and made sure we we’re seated. When taking our order the waiter was more concerned with the guest that he had there. While telling my order I kept being interrupted by him communicating with his personal guest making sure that his company got seated. My husband asked for an accommodation of a chicken poboy, the waiter said he would tell the cook when the food can’t out it was on a bun and when the waiter saw that it was he said oh they didn’t do it, and didn’t offer to have it corrected. My husband and I also ordered a side of fries with his meal and I ordered a side of jambalaya. When the food finally arrived both sides were missing and when I brought it to the attention of the waiter he told me that he only had the jambalaya on his order and nevered offered to take the order of my husband’s fries. After acknowledging that I still didn’t have my jambalaya and I expressed that I no longer wanted if he still didn’t not get the side until we requested the check to leave. We had high hopes for this place. We didn’t feel comfortable and welcomed here, this was just a bad experience all around!
Good service, good food, good prices... Definitely worth stopping in. Not at all touristy
First time at this type of restaurant, my mom and I made sure to let the waiter know we were clueless. They were pretty busy, we waited and were finally seated outside. Our waiter took our orders and someone else brought part of our food and we had to let them know they forgot stuff. Then we were left alone for the rest of our meal until the very end when he did a quick drive by. We finished and chased him down for the check. The food was pretty good, not stellar, but plentiful, we decided it wasn't worth the effort to try again.
Came here in 2016. The owner was very accommodating. He had Robin Hood Men in Tights playing on the TV and offered to put our beers in his cooler to keep them cold while we ate. Best corn and crawfish I've ever eaten. Left his kitchen guy a couple of the brews we couldn't finish. Will definitely come back next time I find myself in NOLA.
This is the place to be for crawdad season. They cater all around town, but you can also eat here on the porch. Be sure to add some corn and sausage to your order
Joan aka Joni acknowledged us immediately upon arrival and made us feel welcomed. She guided us through the menu to make us aware of the happy hour specials. The bar is always clean and comfortable. Clesi's kitchen always has tasty bites and the best crawfish when in season! Love this neighborhood bar!
Enjoyed the food and staff
Best moment in US , definitely.
Crawfish was great tasting but a little over boiled that made it hard to get out of the shell! Live the place and atmosphere here!
Great food and great service!!
My favorite place in the city to get boiled seafood and fixings. Wonderful patio and outdoor space, good service, GREAT seasonings on the crawfish and totally not full of tourists.
Best catfish and shrimp! We went for the crawfish but sadly it was to late in the season (we where from out of state so we had no idea). The place was dead but the wonderful cooked stayed open and welcomed us in like family. Seriously delicious.
Crawfish were $6.90 a lb (corn, potato, sausage all extra), which is subject to change. However, Felix's currently has 3 lbs with fixin's for $15, and most places are cheaper. Crawfish flavor is good, but not worth the high price. Also oversalty the night I went. If you are in town looking for crawfish, many bars have either free boils or at least reasonably priced boils. Can't really recommend this place due to the overpricing.
I liked it! Food good!
Great seafood, nice staff! Excellent place and not too expensive.
Crawfish were awesome and service was awesome
I want to like this place - it's got a lot of potential. But I will not return until the speed of service improves. My wife and I went in for dinner a couple nights ago, and it took over an hour to get our food - and we only ordered two poboys and some boudin. The food was good, but not worth the wait. I would have given only one star, but I'm throwing in an extra because the staff was apologetic and gave us a free round of drinks to compensate for the wait. I know it's a new location, so I'll give it another shot once they get things up and running smoothly.
Great service, and amazing food!!
Great Atmosphere and Talented Chef and Staff!
Really reasonable prices, great location, you can watch Cles cook up your crawfish right there. Wonderful staff and a wonderful experience.
I enjoyed my Clesi Burger with onion rings. Great service and outdoor seating. From the first gal that greeted us the the last guy that picked up our plates. Everyone had a smile and pleasant way. Great place, yummy food and wonderful service. Recommend.
Love their crawfish boil!
Awesome experience! They were out of lemons and one of the staff went next door to get us some lemon slices to enjoy the catfish the best way. Food was delicious and everyone was so friendly! Can't wait to go back!
Nice staff with personality and great service. Big porch, nice bar area, also super yummy catfishies, it's the jam!
Everything was great. It felt like we were at a friend's place. Get the catfish, shrimp or anything on the menu.
Great low price place, best boiled crawfish in town!
Great crawfish, good prices, and friendly staff. Seating is tight so call ahead!
I went to several highly rated places for boiled crawfish and this was by far the best. Fresh crawdads served hot with an awesome spice-boil blend. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great friendly service too!
We tried to call ahead but nobody answered the phone and by the time we got there they had run out of crawfish and shrimp boils. From what I did see the boils did look appetizing. We had to wait an hour and half to receive two po boys that were below average at best and overpriced . Even though first waiter forgot us , the rest of the wait staff was friendly but service was horrendously slow. Had to ask for simple water refills.
Great people great venue exceptional EXPERIENCE
Crawfish was so good. The shell wasn't hard to come off the shell. Customer service was also top notch. I will return again.
Best crawfish in the city and serves is AWESOME
Best catfish, hands down!
GREAT CRAWFISH
Love clesi but they were out of Damn near everything.
Best crawfish I've ever had.
Incredible place! We split the seafood platter with 3 people and all felt very happy and full. Good atmosphere, and the waiter was extremely friendly. Fried oysters were the highlight for me.
Superb service by Vesna. Top shelf shrimp boil and boudin. Old fashion whiskey was excellent as well. Good luck with crawfish season!
The food, atmosphere, and people are fantastic.
Cool spot. Outdoor seating available, which was necessary for our party of 14. Great service, and exactly the kind of menu we were hoping for. Price was actually pretty darn reasonable (though the beer and wine selection is a bit leaving -- not a problem at all though). We took cabs here, but I could imagine parking being a problem if the place was crowded. Gumbo and jambalaya were solid, crab was real good. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a real Louisiana seafood boil.
If you're in NOLA you HAVE to go to this place. Chill outdoor patio with cornhole AND in-house snowballs. Incredible service. Get there early or you'll miss out on the Crawfish! Happy hour is unbeatable.
Crawfish is AMAZING
Great backyard atmosphere. Staff is nice drinks are grrreat.
Best crawfish in town. Also jambalaya rice, po’boys. Delicious food! Very kind service!
Pretty good local place for crawfish and typical new Orleans food, but a bit bland. Crawfish wasn't spicy enough and felt the other food was good but underseasoned. Boudin bites were great though.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff
Waited 20 minutes for someone to help, only to be ignored by the employees. Stopped a guy who was working and a lady (bartender), neither of whom seemed to be able to help us get a drink or tablet. Left without getting any help or crawfish.
I hate that I have to say this but hopefully it draws some attention because I want to love you. The environment is great and the crawfish is fine but there’s really no excuse for $8/pound this far into the season. I literally live across the street but I’ll definitely go to Bevi for half the price and the same if not better quality food before I empty my wallet to sit on a patio. Knock it off with the tourist crawfish prices. Let me love you.
Tried it again for some reason, convenience i guess. Draft wasn't cold, they rinse the oysters, crawfish were over boiled and terribly season, their "bread pudding" is a churro. Place sucks
We had Clesi's cater a bachelor party dinner at a house we rented and it worked out perfect. We all came from out of state (mostly from the West Coast) and wanted to try a Crawfish boil. Even though we were told that it might not be possible, given the unusually cold weather while we were there - they made it happen. It was awesome. Well worth it and a cool chance to taste some tasty authentic Louisiana cuisine. They also made us a some Jambalaya, which was pretty amazing as well.
Great atmosphere and people. Crawfish was top notch.
The crawfish were amazing! Nice and
Great food and staff!
Amazing crawfish!!! Great service as well
This place was rated No. 1 crawfish in New Orleans but I was quite underwhelmed unfortunately, the crawfish did not seem fresh.
Our bartender/waiter was terrific!
Hardly seasoned food.
Great restaurant, great staff, and great food. Added to places we have to go when in New Orleans.
Delicious crawfish, super fast and fresh. I like that their seasoning isn't overwhelming but I would skip the shrimp
Great place for crawfish!
Buyer Beware. The corn and crab soup was good going down, but it gave me food poisoning, which has resulted in hours of gastrointestinal destress. I wish I'd never ordered from this place. NEVER AGAIN.
We ordered for pick up and got the last 3 lb of crawfish for the night. It was fantastic.
Lovely people, great food, love the catfish! We'll be back for sure.
Sadly, Clesi's is suffering growing pains. Used to love it on Banks St. Now prices are up and quality down. Jambalaya cheese fries have become sad, with mediocre jambalaya and straight cheddar cheese instead of the mixed cheeses and green onions we used to see. Boiled shrimp were unpeelable, a sure sign of someone who does not know how to cook them. The only shining light is their crawfish, which is still delicious but $8/lb?? Not worth it at that price...
Terrible menu and poorly cooked seafood. Place empty at 8 pm on a Friday. Service good and parking available
I cannot praise this place enough. Was intrigued to visit it for its famous winning crawboil. A MUST! I cannot say I have eaten this well in years. Their fried catfish is to die for too... and the prices are so low. We were pleasantly shocked when we got the bill. Apart from the AMAZING food and prices, the service was worth writing home about too! All together a 10/10 recommendation.
Really, really disappointed. Came in on a Sunday at 6pm. The website hours state open Sunday from 12p to 10p. I even called and the message stated open from 12p to 10p. We spent $10 on an Uber and showed up to a locked up building. No signs, no nothing. One of the people that are local to the area said "they just closed up and went on vacation". Also said that "they don't know how to run a business". Super disappointed because the reviews for the food are really good. Hopefully they'll start posting updates in reference to business hours so customers stay loyal.
Try the oyster and anything else you'll be pleased.
Atmosphere: Nice local spot away from your typical Bourbon St. Food: Crawfish was very good and seasoned all the way to the inside. Also they didn't have all that seasoning dumped on the outside and didn't need it. Sausage & corn good. Potatoes probably should have been cut in half to have soaked up some seasoning. Service: staff very attentive, Jasmine made sure everything was correct and corrected things that weren't without any problem or debate.
GREAT crawfish and better service
The food was all pretty bland. Cooked well but bland. I had the fried catfish, potato salad and jambalaya fries. It wasn't too expensive but not cheap either. The location is very nice, with outdoor seating and a cornhole game available. Service was friendly but lacking. I was there for an hour and half and never offered a refill on my drink. I would like to try to crawfish if I ever go back during crawfish season. Drinks on the patio might also be nice.
Worth every penny. Crawfish were superb. So was the sausage. I really like the fact that you can buy a drink next door at Banks Street Bar and bring it over to drink now or later. Wonderful way to get to know new people by sitting on the picnic benches outside. I met a couple from France, a very interesting man and his wife from New Orleans, and also some Russian women. Grade: A+ for ambience, quality of food. Your hosts are Tiny and Charlie.
