The pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy is the best! I wish they had this on the menu more often. My co-worker and I look every Monday to see if it makes the menu. Seems like they only have it once every couple months. :(

I always love going to Bergeron's City Market! They serve you cafeteria style with daily specials. You can check their website to see what they will be serving over the week. Get the spaghetti and meatballs, the chicken parmesan, or the fried shrimp, you won't be disappointed. If you have a sweet tooth, grab a dessert too!

We were sadly disappointed in our first experience at City Market. When we walked in, it smelled like disinfectant - that is a turn-off for any restaurant. No one greeted us or explained how things worked. The wait staff behind the food counter was helpful, but the food must have been sitting for most of the day because it did not look appetizing. Our group (4) had the trout - it was dry and not very tender. It was also disconcerting that we were the only people having dinner. Maybe there is a larger lunch crowd. I doubt if we will return, especially with so many other restaurant choices in the area that smell good and have delicious food.

I arrived just after they had stopped serving but the staff was happy to accomodate me with some of the hot food they had just removed for boxing. Wow the chicken, rice and green beans were fantastic! I also bought some jams and cookies from the take-out area. Pics are from inside the store.

I only know this business's food through catered events and it tastes fine, no more, no less. That being said, often prepared on a large scale, it seems unfair to compare big catered affairs to a restaurant's breakfast, lunch or dinner service, none of which I have eaten here.

I have never had a bad meal from here. The food is honestly cooking- always well cooked, very flavorful, and fast. For lunch, there are usually 3-4 entree choices and many sides for hot lunch plates, enough variety that everyone can get something they like. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They make you feel at home. Brunch on the weekend was great with a complimentary mimosa! They have a great selection of freezer meals so you can pick up a few for easy dinners at home. Their prices are very reasonable for sizes and quality. We love the creamed spinach!

I was impressed again with my food at Bergeron's City Market. I had the fried fish and fried shrimp. The breading/batter on my shrimp was a little clumped up in a few areas of the shrimp, like they were ganged up in the fry basket, but the texture and flavor was very good. The fish had a corn meal batter which was crispy and seasoned just right. I liked the two different batters, corn meal for the fish, flour for the shrimp. My sides were cabbage which had greens and sausage in it. The cabbage was fresh and not over done. The macaroni and cheese was obviously homemade with a Béchamel sauce, and spiral noodles. I generally always get the tossed Green salad, which is in a creamy vinaigrette. I added a little salt for my taste. The shrimp creole was good. It was homemade and had a great taste. The bland white rice really stole from the red gravy flavor. I will say again the dish was good. It was so good, I bought some of the same red sauce for the house. These are only small things I thought of while posting this. The stuffed bell pepper had a crawfish stuffing which had gobs of crawfish. It was all thriller and not much filler. The bread pudding was excellent. I will be back !! I enjoy having fresh homemade food ready to eat !!! And even bought Togo stuff to cook at the house I forgot to mention the homemade tartar sauce is zippy and I love it ! The cocktail sauce was great too !!!
