Down home country cooking at its best. Nice atmosphere & clean. The waitress also did a great job. There were 7 of us & everyone enjoyed their meal. We had pork chop, roast beef, glazed pork tenderloin, & fried chicken. Each meal came with a choice of 2 sides, & they have a nice variety, that were very good. Their corn bread has bits of corn in it & is very tasty, too. If you wanted you could get slaw or a salad, but we didn't. Now, on to the desserts, & yes, you have to get a dessert. Hard to choose a favorite but I had the BlackBerry cobbler a la mode & it was a bowl full. Not too sweet. Just like my granny use to make. Also, we had peach cobbler a la mode, chocolate meringue, & coconut meringue. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed them. Very good home cook'in and we didn't have to wait long at all for our meal.

If you ever ate at an "Our Best" you know they had great comfort food.You probably also know there are not any of these in Louisville anymore as far as I know. My wife gets her hair done in Buckner,Ky.Her hairdresser told her there was an Our Best in Smithfield,Ky.We were both hungry,so we decided to go there.I used the GPS on my phone to find the place.It is off the beaten path,so don't get discouraged if you seem to be in the middle of nowhere(beautiful country views). We finally arrived and we couldn't believe how many people were there.It looked like Cracker Barrel on a Sunday afternoon.There was no wait time though and we seated ourselves. I ordered the pork chop dinner and my wife ordered a veggie plate.We both also ordered a side salad(all their dressings a made in-house,yum,yum). We received our food in a timely manner and all was great. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars in because I would probably not drive from my home to there because it's a 50 minute drive in itself.If I am in the vicinity I will surely go back though.

My family and I have been eating here for ages. The service is always excellent and the food is amazing. Friend chicken, pork chops, country fried ham and white Alaskan fish are all excellent choices. Whatever you do, do not forget to grab a slice of coconut cream pie to go (you will be too full to eat it there).

First time coming to this out of the way homestyle restaurant and it was well worth the trip!!! Great country style food with old fashioned atmosphere taking patrons back to America's past. A nice variety of options on the menu made choosing difficult, as everything looked wonderful. I went with the Salmon Cakes and they were fantastic. However, the Chocolate Cake, drizzled with fudge and raspberry sauce, A La Mode was the highlight!!! Service was excellent, our server was both friendly and well versed on the menu!!! A definite must for excellent home cooking, nostalgic environment, and terrific staff.

I really didn't eat there when Google Maps picked it up. At the time I stopped it was closed. From past experience I found both food and service excellent. I discovered the old flour mill had been demolished and whether or not they have a gift shop, I don't know. You can buy a whole pie but they expect a deposit on the dish and you get it back when you bring back your pie plate. Whether they still do this remains to be seen. Pies are usually baked in glassware . Overall experience with Our Best has been great.

Went to the restaurant for a bit of lunch. We got a Ruben and slaw with a chicken thigh. Finished with "special" pineapple pie. My gosh, they were fantastic! One tip, order the pie with or even before dinner. When the pie is gone, it is gone and it goes quickly.

Who doesn't love Our Best? This is a hometown favorite. My husband had never been and he has been obsessing about the fried cornbread ever since. For good reason - it's amazing. If you're a chicken liver kind of person, these are some of the best I've had. Don't expect to keep a diet here, but do expect it to be worth the calories!

Our Best is the best restaurant ever, their Smithfield Club is so good and the cherry cobbler and peach cobbler is so good! I definitely recommend getting that! The building is so unique and antique to be in. The servers are extremely nice and it was overall a good experience!

We typically love Our Best. Fried chicken is a favorite. Last two times I've been there, however, chicken seemed greasier than normal. Also, not sure what has happened to corn bread but taste is off. Had a funny twang. Not sure if sugar has been added? What I've always loved is it isn't sweet cornbread. Couldn't pinpoint issue. Sides are generous in portion.

Our Best is THE BEST place to come for a down home cooked meal. I've had the fried chicken and country ham dinners and I give them both my personal highest compliment - they rank up there with my Mom and Mommaw's cooking. I don't believe I can say that about any other restaurant. Good place to bring your family. Casual, small town atmosphere, and kinda in the middle of nowhere, but that's part of the appeal to me, anyways. Be sure to try the cobbler, and check out their little gift shop. I love that they embrace & celebrate local history through the items displayed throughout the restaurant.

This is my favorite comfort food in the Louisville area. You can't go wrong with any of their entrees. Try the fried chicken and fried green tomatoes, and definitely the cornbread. Our Best IS the perfect comfort food! Like the menu says, it's just like going to your grandparents house on Sunday afternoon after church to eat supper. This restaurant is well off the beaten path but worth the trip. Some of the best items are: turkey w/dressing (special for mothers day), pork chops, fried chicken, apple sauce, pies, cobblers and good old fashion sweet tea. Although no one at our table had them, the onion rings & fried pickles were popular and looked very tasty. The fried corn bread was just like moms! The things I don't recommend are some of the veggies. We had corn, green beans and cranberry sauce that were likely straight out of a can. The sweet potato casserole was just ok. I tend to be a critic proportionate of Robert Irwin size (Restaurant Impossible) so most people will love this place, so expect a wait. The service is excellent!

Simple and decent food that doesn't knock your socks off with flavor. Reasonable price and cute rustic atmosphere, but after our 5th or 6th time here and we keep getting served cold entrees I give up. Today the prime rib and au jus were not even close to warm much less reasonably hot. Very disappointing to keep getting cold food. They do offer to make it right and will make your order over, but enough is enough for us

Located in Smithfield, IT, Our Best features comfort foods. The fried green beans were very fresh and well prepared. The country fried steak was adequate. The BlackBerry cobbler was a bit too sweet and rich for my taste, but the vanilla ice cream served on top lost all flavor to freezer burn.
