We have tried to eat there several times as it convenient to us. We've ordered from both the buffet and the menu. After about 4 or 5 times we finally gave. Each time we both had upset stomachs after eating there. The salisbury steak on the buffet was swimming in grease and the meatloaf was not edible. The staff has never been friendly. We are no longer giving the benefit of a doubt because each time we have the same experience and do not go there. I highly DO NOT recommend this eatery. It is worth spending a few minutes more and go a little farther for a good home cooked meal in our area. Family Affair is not it.

This is a home cooking buffet that seems like it’s the middle of nowhere, but just south of Lawrenceburg. This is a spot Rachel Ray has recommend you stop to eat while taveling through especially for the 127 yard sale weekend. However, anytime is a good time to eat at Family Affair. It will fill your belly with yummy home cooking and you never know what famous bourbon people you might run into while eating there.

Wow, wonderful home style cooking! I sampled a little bit of everything on the buffet. Everything was good. That is something that can rarely be said. This isn't a fancy place but who cares! Your tongue gonna slap yo brains out baby!

Had the Dinner buffet. It's hot, fresh, and plentiful. The banana pudding was still warm from the homemade meringue. The meatloaf was a little sweet for my liking, but still flavorful and moist. You gotta try the cat fish when available on thr buffet. The staff was friendly and available for your dining needs. I would highly recommend stopping in if ya ain't in a hurry.

Wonderful service and friendly staff. Other than that it was a very disappointing meal. First thing we notice through the front door is how hot and muggy the air was. They said the a.c. unit was overwhelmed....then you need a better unit. People don't want to be uncomfortable while eating. Food was mediocre at best. Mushroom swiss burger was canned mushrooms and white American cheese.....grosss!!! After ordering the appetizer sampler, they came back and said they were out of mushrooms. Which means they use frozen breaded mushrooms out of a bag. Just over all disappointing....not horrible, just not what I hoped for.

Same buffet every week and sometimes the macaroni and cheese is like glue. Fried chicken is mostly cold. Can you put some soups on the buffet. Not everyone wants to eat buffet, maybe soup and grilled cheese is all they want. Floors could use a good cleaning and so could the enclosed porch.

My Mom worked there for a little bit. You can get a great burger there. They also have a buffet, and the best time at the buffet? Catfish Fridays! Mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm! I would totally recommend if you are hungry for something between Harrodsburg and Lawrenceburg, then come on over there.

My first experience with this place was a few years ago, and it was a great one. I drove past them today and decided to stop there for lunch (around 1:30pm), I must say I am deeply saddened at how much this place has gone down hill. I ordered mozz sticks with marina, a double cheeseburger that was supposed to be pink in the middle (waiter said they could do that) with lettuce pickle and mayo, waited roughly 15 minutes for them to initially take my order, when it came out I was not brought marina, the cheese burger had lettuce pickle and tomato, no mayo, the burger was cooked completely through to the point of the majority of it being dry. Waited another 5 - 10 minutes for them to bring me mayo and "marinara" (which ended up being just cold tomato sauce), they did not bring silverware and instead said "the silverware is over by the buffet", excuse me but I am not eating buffet and your job as my waiter is to bring me utensils to eat my food with. I waited roughly 15-20 minutes for a refill on my drink while the employees (looked like one of the owners, lady with short blonde hair) stood at the table next to me chit chatting with her friends who where dining in while I was attempting to drink my ice cubes and could not be bothered to stop her social meeting to help a customer, I ended up having to get up and ask the employees who where all sitting at a table eating, if I could get a refill... Again I am deeply saddened by this experience, and unfortunately cannot recommend anyone go here who wants a pleasant experience.

Very good place to eat with a family type atmosphere. Had buffet and menu service. (Husband and I both had buffet and drink; total was 27.00 excluding tip) service left a little to be expected, husband had to find server (on her phone at the cash register) and ask for refills. Not sure of the service structure but we were told to tip in a basket by the register, when I did tip cash, while the card was waiting for approval the server picked up the money and unfolded it to count it and then placed back in basket. The food quality does outweigh the unprofessional service quality.

Ok food, very poor service. My party went with the buffet while I went al carte with a burger plate. it was twenty minutes before the waitress come back to take my order despite telling her I was ordering off the menu. 40 minutes later - after my party had finished eating and awaiting checks - the waitress brought my food out. The excused offer was they were slammed. Then how come several people who came in after me ordered off the menu, ate, and left. Even then the order was wrong as a burger plate was supposed to be burgers, fries, and slaw. As far as being slammed as reason, the majority of the "crowd" arrived way after she took my order.
