Delicious. And like all great bbq, it'll have you over eating and send you straight to the crapper. I also rate the bathroom a 4, but could use an extra stall and instructions for the unique faucet.

One of the best Barbeque places I have ever had by far. If you pass up this place you are missing a treat. If you don't go out of your way to go here. You will wish you had.The potato salad is Awesome. Especially considering I don't even like potato salad. Very consistent.You won't be disappointed. I just had yesterday. Wonderful.

Everything we got was outstanding! Ribs, coleslaw, baked beans, ham salad. The side sauce for the ribs was unlike any bbq sauce I'd ever tasted before : couldn't quite pinpoint what made it so different but really liked it. Not too hot, not too sweet. This is 45min away from my home but will be going back!

Extremely disappointing. I paid $150 for 7 slabs of ribs for my engagement party over the weekend. The ribs were dry with no flavor.The ribs were extremely fatty and all and all not good at all. I was given 2 bottles of sauce for 7 full slabs that already had no flavor to them.Was going to also use for my wedding until this experience. Will not be back after that.

Great place for smoked tasty goodness. 9 sauces to choose from and sugar free ones. Full pound, half pound brisket or pulled pork, half slab and full slab of ribs. Chicken and a good selection of sides. Free refills will put out the fire of the cajun sauce...so good. Friendly people with eat in or take out options. Prices just right to get to a full belly.

Food was good. Large selection. Very disappointed that we were unable to get wings without 3 hour notice, especially since we stopped by on a whim. If the winds are that popular and sell that well, why not keep them on hand for walk ins? It's just costing you business by not having them available. May reconsider next visit if I don't have the time to place order that far advanced in a fast paced society.

It’s ok, had a 1/2 slab carry out with green beans and red beans and rice. Haven’t been there in ten years and the red beans and rice are still my favorite side, green beans weren’t seasoned much could have used some pork fat in them. Ribs were a little dry but the mustard sauce became a needed addition. Wish you all would bring back the smaller rib combo, the 1/2 is more than I care to purchase. Ribs 12, two sides added for 3.5

This is my favorite barbeque in Louisville! Some bbq restaurants can deliver the meat, but fail on the sides. Bootleg has side dishes just a delicious as the bbq. The location is 30 minutes from my house, but I always find my way back.

The girl behind the counter got the order wrong. Charged for something not ordered. Also bbq turkey smelled bad and tasted worse. The tables had not been wiped down and all had crumbs on them. The red beans and rice tasted like it had vinegar in it. Got the buttermilk pie and all it was is a frozen buttermilk pie u can get from the grocery. IF it isn’t then u at least need to use a different pie crust than the ready made frozen ones. Overall the food was NOT good and service just as bad.

The atmosphere calm and relaxing, even whenit was croded with people coming to pick up therr orders( even though the wait was minimal) the flow wasn't rushed and everyone was patient) like you know how good it's going to be when you dine -in or leave for or that special occasion. The menu makes you want to to come back to savor new meats, desserts, sides and Ale 8 products.lt's worth the distance to this area tucked away in plain sight.Giving that down home country vibe( come back as see us again) and you will. I would highly recommend coming here for some delicious BBQ. The hot and sticky wings are the best in town, but you need to call ahead 3 hrs to get them.

I haven't been to Bootleg since they had the old building. I have moved away for a bit. Went in for lunch today it was ready in less than 5 minutes. As always amazing and fresh. They even have my favorite orange cream soda which is hard to find. I was a little disappointed in the size of the blackberry cobbler because of the price. But as always it was amazing. Incredible lunch very fast Professional Service. The restaurant looks really great. Definitely recommend!

Great food experience in a laid back atmosphere. I ordered ribs to test their barbecue. Of course the beans brought an extra full flavor to the main entry. Thought both pricing and portion were fair for good overall value. Would describe Bootleg as a great family outing. It has strong local support. I recommend it.

Stopped in and ordered some twice baked potatoes and potato salad. Always great food. I bought the potato salad for my dad because it's his favorite and he lives in Indiana so he doesn't get it very often. He was so happy. The place was a little busy being it was labor day weekend. Even though they were busy, the staff was friendly, courteous and our food came out pretty fast. Definitely recommend bootleg and everything on the menu is delicious!!

Food is great and the new building is very nice. We love the potato salad. We get pork bbq, two sides, and a kids meal for about $22. For us it is enough to feed 3 adults and one child easily. We normally have some leftovers. Comes with hamburger sized buns to make sandwiches. We have never had a bad experience there. Used to take a while, 10 mins, for food if busy but the new building is not so crowded.

The food was ok, the pork had a bit too much sauce on it for my taste so I would probably get it plain next time. The new building is nice, but my one complaint would be that they neglected to put diaper changing stations in the bathrooms. Making this improvement would make this a family friendly establishment.

This is my favorite BBQ in the area. I don't get a chance to eat it as often as I'd like too because of the location but anytime I'm going to be close by I make sure to stop in. First, if you have the time to plan, you HAVE to try the wings, but you have to call them in 3 hours in advance. They are smoked fresh just for you. The BBQ itself is amazing. It's one of the few places that I've been to that cook their meat in sauce instead of giving you a mound of dry meat and letting you put your own sauce on. The meat here is so tender and juicy, it's amazing. All of their sides are incredible too. I highly recommend the twice baked mashed potatoes, potato salad, Mac and cheese, baked beans, and their coleslaw is great too. You literally can't go wrong with anything you order.

We have been fans of Bootleg for many years. Their sides are great and the sandwiches are generous in size. Bread pudding is a favorite. Today I had the ribs for the first time. I got 4 huge ribs which were way too much for me to eat at one sitting. They also were way too salty. I could barely eat them and I always salt things. I'll stick to sandwich in future.

Average barbecue restaurant. I prefer the BBQ at Mark's Feedstore by a wide margin. And Bootleg isn't even in the same league as Red State BBQ in Lexington. The side dishes were less impressive. No specific complaints but this isn't someplace I'd go back to at their prices.

This is the ONLY BBQ place in all of the Louisville area that has a vegetarian bbq option. Options for sides are somewhat limited but you'll definitely get a good meal. And they have Ale 8 in the bottle. The building is really cool, made with a lot of repurposed material.

Not bad, they have some vegetarian options here. Food is quick and taste like comfort food. Chicken, mashed potatoes and green bean type of stuff. The menu is pretty inexpensive and the portions are pretty normal.

Regional and micro-regional variations in barbecue fascinate me, so when I drove through Louisville, I had to try some mutton and burgoo. If you've never tried barbecued mutton before, this is the place to pop your cherry. Bootleg's was not at all what I expected, which was a fairly tough, gamey meat. Instead, it was tender, juicy and delicately flavored, nicely cooked to a rich brownness. The various sauces were a nice complement. The burgoo was hearty and satisfying. I had never had it before, so I have no baseline. I expected more heat - but as a New Orleanian, I may have a higher spice tolerance. The next time I pass through Louisville, I'll definitely try to stop by Bootleg's.

The outside may seem a bit dismal but the recently renovated inside has a rustic atmosphere, Vey clean and the service is outstanding! The food is delicious! All the bbq pork, chicken, or turkey is great! Their homemade sides taste like my Grandmother's. Rich creamy potatoe salad, perfectly seasoned green and baked beans. All so good! Whether you eat in or take out the side bar for all their toppings and sauces is easily accessible and ready. Highly recommend the drive to enjoy good food!

I don't know but the wings just aren't what they used to be. Even my family members noticed they don't taste like they used to. Use to be a really dry rub taste but not any more. They are wet more than dry. Really not happy with the wings... They aren't as good anymore and that's a shame because they were The Best Wings. Not Anymore...Good Luck...

This place has no soul. The pulled pork was chopped up, not pulled and heavily sauced to mask the fact there was zero smoke flavor in the meat. It could have been cooked in a crock pot. Also I didn't stink when I left, another bad sign. Where was the smoke? Some sides were good. The staff was great, no complaints. The food was a shame. Many other places in the area to get better barbecue.

Poor at Best. I wait several months (8 thus time) between visits & every time it is the same (think I would learn by now) it's just not the good of a BBQ restaurant. There are lots of much better BBQ restaurant around Louisville & Southern Indiana to choose from. So maby I have learned my lesson not to do this place again.

Food is really good, but overpriced. Got BlackBerry cobbler for dessert and was disappointed by the tiny portion and big price, (about 3 bites worth). I get cobbler whenever I see it on a menu...this is the smallest anywhere. The girl taking orders seemed unhappy to be there and the 3 girls getting orders onto trays were nearly falling over each other to do the job one could have easily done. Plus it would make a better first impression if at least one of the numerous staffers at the front counter would acknowledge that a customer was standing there, no matter what they are there for. In the past I have always gotten my food to go...maybe I will stick to carry out...
