This Catering is classified in the category of Barbecue restaurant.
Above-average BBQ, I felt the prices were kind of high and the decor a little bit cold, service was fair, they could use better parking
Pretty damn good barbecue for your buck. Could be more liberal with the sides, but the steak fries are thicc and the macaroni poppers are juicy. Their sandwiches aren't the Z-Man, but they're pretty solid. Sauce is sweet, even the spicy one. Friendly staff, fast service, and reasonable drink selection.
Stop cooking the meat in a pressure cooker/ water. It taste horrible. I couldn't even finish a 1/4 of my food because it tasted that bad. The waitress asked if there was something wrong. I lied and said no. But there was no way you could of fixed that no short cuts. You got big because you cooked good. Go back to that.
Amazing quality of food, and very attentive waitstaff. Nothing over/undercooked and everything seasoned to perfection. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves BBQ style foods!
It was delicious.....now I understand why the place was packed !! The food was amazing as was the service.... I 0walked in and ordered to go.
Very good food guy was here.
Extremely friendly. Great atmosphere. Great food.
In Kansas City for a mini vacation and heard about this place so figured I'd give it a try. It did not disappoint! Food was delicious and I wanted more even though I was stuffed. There are lots of negative reviews on here recently, but the meats had tons of flavor and the sides and sauces were awesome. Parking is a bit weird diagonally along the street, but i didn't come for the parking. Great place!
Based on other reviews it seems like this place can be a roll of the dice. Some people love it, other detest it. The parking isn't my favorite. Its diagonal along the street... I'd rather not. The staff today was very friendly, the girl I was greeted by and the server. Everyone was very quick. I was seated in their huge dining room, which could be overbearing if it was full of a loud bunch. The food was great. The beans were spot on. The Turkey sandwich was great. I definitely prefer the mild sauce. I appreciate that the meat came out dry so I could taste just the Turkey and sauce it to my preference. The prices are typical to other BBQ places, but with a spectrum of options from $6 to over $20 for some of the platters. Plenty of food though.
my mom loves coming here, but every time we come we always grab more than we can eat! the pork cuts are delicious and full of flavor, the bbq beans are too good! I always get an order to take home. lol
One of the best BbQ places I've eaten at. Had burnt ends, they had fantastic flavors and nice and tender and juicy. Wife had ribs & chicken. She waved at the ribs but said the chicken was moist, done to perfection. Sides of Mac& Cheese bites, beans & steak fries were all excellent. Highly recommend
Very good bbq. Service was very fast. The burnt ends were great
Love the food! Great family atmosphere!
Very nice little BBQ place. Extremely clean and all of staff are very friendly. One of the few places where you get an abundance amount of food. We go once every other week. Highly recommend stopping by.
Microwaved BBQ. Spend 5 more minutes driving and go to Q39. There sliced brisket sandwich was literally microwaved sliced beef on bread.... thats it.
Excellent service! And you cannot pass up buying a t-shirt with their rubbed nuts on it! Wonderful BBQ!
This place was amazing. The staff was so friendly. Everything came out quickly The fried pickles are delicious and so are the mac and cheese bites
Great barbecue as expected! Just expect a serious food coma afterwards! ;)
Burnt Ends was very good
Their ribs and beans are good but that's the best thing I can say about them. They are over priced small portions with little flavor otherwise
Love the burnt ends. If you dont like spicy sauce make sure you get the regular sauce. The spicy will set your soul a fire. Great experience camt wait to go back.
I've eaten here for years, used to be my favorite BBQ joint, not so much now. The bbq just didn't have a great smoked flavor it used to. The potato casserole was bland and not up to its usual quality. Service was a bit slow, not sure why, there wasn't much of a lunch crowd. The location is easy to find and parking is plentiful in the area. Prices are reasonable and portions are reasonable. Not the best BBQ in a Kansas City, but above average.
I love their spicy bbc sauce and their turkey sandwiches! But this time I decided to try the 1 meat/2 side meat plate and was disappointed as they didn’t give very much meat. It looks like a kid’s portion...it looks like less than 4oz of meat. I also only got one side and not 2. But the bbq beans and turkey were very good! That’s why I gave this a 3 stars. I should also mention that I ordered my food through Foodsby (for lunch while at work)and didn’t go into the restaurant. So I wasn’t able to check my order until received it from the delivery service.
Great food, great lunch specials. Had brisket sandwich, steak fries and a Pepsi for 8 bucks! Food was out quick, great service from waitress. 11 bucks with tip. I go to fast food chains and spend 8 bucks for, well, you know, fast food. :^/
Honestly, it was just okay. The sides I had were good (beans and broccoli casserole), but the sandwich was disappointing. The portion of brisket was small and the meat was rubbery and lacked flavor. Tasted like it had been boiled instead of smoked. With so many great BBQ joints to choose from in KC, I wouldn't go here again.
The absolute best BBQ in this area.Food is very tasty. Service is great.
Great BBQ. I ordered the large brisket sandwich and unlike some places, this sandwich had a lot of meat on it. Good sauce, too.
Ordered brisket, pulled pork, beans & corn nuggets for dinner last night. Best barbecue we’ve ever had!! Will definitely be back.
Good KC barbeque, I enjoyed the burnt end chili special for lunch.
I can't speak for everyone else, but Smokin Guns, used a 20 gauge on me, I was blown away!! Great dining & I salute you..Boo-yah!!
This is great joint with great food. The brisket is nicely cooked and flavorful. It is cut a bit thicker than many places. The steak and sweet potato fries are very good and not greasy. The fried green beans are awesome and worth the trip by themselves. The servers are attentive and friendly. The location is in an industrial area of nkc, but easily accessible from the north or downtown. The parking is much improved with the addition of a dedicated lot to the north. We look forward to our visits.
Very good, I only sampled the shredded brisket and cole slaw but both were excellent as was the wait staff. Very loud place and very slow to get the food out. Why a 20 minute wait when everything is pre-made?
This is a family owned joint. Clean, helpful, good service. I’ve eaten here many times, no “complaints “. Just not my fav on flavor.
Nice clean place. Food was very good and prices were reasonable. Good selection of beer on tap.
Went for my birthday! Good bbq sandwich!
Just not as good as it used to be. The brisket was thin sliced, not chopped. There was hardly any meat In the BBQ beans. I used to be a fan when the place was just one story an there was no place to sit. Getting bigger does not necessarily mean getting better.
The food is top notch, but the waitresses we have encountered are a riot to be around! I would keep going there if the food was just so-so because of the help, but the food is excellent and the staff is great so they are hitting home runs all the way around!
Not impressed by it. Food was OK not great. Portion size very small. Bratwurst was size of a regular hot dog nothing worth going back a second time.
The burnt ends were amazing. Food came out fast and hot. I will keep this place in mind when I drive through Kansas City again.
Great BBQ. Meat is served by pound or 1/2 pound. The sauce is really good and competes with places like Jack Stack and Arthur Bryant's. $14.00 for 1/2 lb burnt ends and 2 sides for lunch.
Very good food. Excellent meeting room upstairs. Service was excellent.
Some of the best barbecue in Kansas City area. The sauce is amazing. E have had every cut of meat and they are all amazing.
Delicious food and a fantastic atmosphere. Great place to get a quick bite or to relax with friends.
Went for the music, stayed for dinner. Brand X, the band, was great. Ordered baby back ribs, they were dried out, like they were cooked many days in advance. Beer not partially cold when served. Venue upstairs is a gem, they should be proud of it, nice crowd, family atmosphere, service was great. Doubt I'll every eat there again.
Best of so many things. Best burnt ends, best potato cass, best sauce. I took my family there and that's where I can find my only complaint. I have too many members of my family and not enough recommendations.
Today my pu order was cold
The Two meat plate was awesome. The staff was very attentive to all our needs. The perfect amount of food and flavor, and so tender. So many choices of sides and the most perfectly balanced sweet Tea I've had in a long time. After a hot day outside it hit the spot. Atmosphere is good, our table was right under the A/C vent we were a bit chilled. And food cooled off way too fast. That was the only down side . Re-direct the air vents and you would easily get Five stars I still Highly recommend it.
I’d obviously expected some decent bbq, we are in KC after all, but didn’t expect bbq as good as what I got! This solidly took a spot in my top 3 bbq joint list. The meat was good, not amazing by any standards, but the sides and sauces both shone like stars. The smoky original and the sweeter variety of the sauce made the sandwich stellar and the perfectly made fries tied in with the pickle extremely well. Wildly satisfied with the location.
Horrible bland extra dry meat. One of the worst tasting bbq I've ever consumed!!
I came all the way from IOWA !! And I went here !! WOW !! SOME OF THE BEST IN THE CITY!!!
Very good dining place
Pulled pork sandwich was barely average. I went back a month later and tried the brisket sandwich. It was awful. No smoke, no seasoning, tough, and dry. A co-worker was equally disappointed by the burnt end plate. At least the place was clean.
Smoked Turkey and Beef sandwich with onion rings and spicy barbeque sauce FTW!
Very good food and service. My husband loved the baked beans and all the other dishes we had were spot on.
We had a sample of all chicken, ribs (dry rub), burnt ends and pork belly bites. All spectacular, good flavor. Sides better than the usual bb side fare. The cheesy potato casserole a must! Worth the trip to North KC. Good call Triple D...
I had been craving BBQ for days, and googled BBQ near me. This location was near my work, and had good reviews. I wasn't blown away like I have been at other BBQ spots. Our waitress really had a hard time managing her tables. It was lunch time, but they were not overly busy. It wasn't a big deal at first but then after receiving our food she didn't talk about the sauces or ask if we needed anything else. I was disappointed in the service received. I was also disappointed that the tea wasn't fresh brewed. It was the instant/carbonated kind. I was shocked that a BBQ place didn't have fresh brewed tea. The fried mushrooms and pickles were soo good, and I really enjoyed their sauce. I got a brisket sandwich and thought it was pretty good as well. The price is reasonable, and they had plenty of selection on the menu. The host was super friendly as well.
I came here with a co-worker on a Wednesday afternoon at 6pm and there was one other table seated, so it was a bit surprising that a Guy Fieri recommended restaurant was this quiet at dinner time. We tried the wings as an appetizer, which were very good. They were naked wings, so they lacked crispness but the dry rub on them was tasty. I ordered the Guy Fieri plate (pictured above), which was an obscene amount of food. It comes with 3 meats: Turkey, Burnt ends, and Brisket. It also comes with 3 sides, cornbread and pickles. Everything was pretty tasty, I do wish however that the Turkey and Brisket did not come pre-sliced as larger chunks let you taste how tender the meat actually is. The burnt ends were ok. The sauces were mediocre as well. The macaroni and cheese bites were the best thing that I ate by far. My colleague tried the sausage (which I was not a huge fan of...too much fennel for an Italian sausage, tasted more like a Sicilian which should be charred rather than smoked), but the fried green beans were delicious as well. All in all it was good, but not incredible. The stafd was friendly and helpful when asked questions. I would come back and try other things on their menu.
Fab service. Great food. Can't miss.
The good was very and server was amazing.
Can’t go wrong with smokin guns bbq. Perfectly crafted meats with bbq, definitely coming back for more
Best bbq in town, hands down. GREAT FOOD
Their food is always good. Waitress was just ok. We have been going there for years.
Best burnt ends I’ve ever had.
Great food and service. I came in 20 minutes before closing time. The food was still moist, and cooked perfectly. The prices were reasonable for good bbq. Will definitely stop again.
Burnt ends. What more can I say? Delicious
Come for the burnt ends, stay for another pound of burnt ends. Their sides are on point. I normally hate bbq beans and refuse to eat them but theirs are absolutely worth the try. Cornbread? Moist. Prices are fantastic just don't be cheap. I only spent $40 and was able to feed myself and a grown man. Got the Triple D plate, 1 meat plate, and a 2 liter of soda for the both of us and we're stuffed. We even had some for later.
We chose to come here because we saw it on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. We ordered the BBQ pizza with pulled pork and BBQ nachos with brisket. We were mixed on which one we liked better. Enjoyed the mild BBQ sauce but not the hot. The apple crisp was very good.
The food was fantastic, fast, and fresh! The staff was AWESOME. They were very attentive to our table and made us feel welcome. I cannot say anything bad about this place!
Staff was great. Attentive and knowledgeable. Food was amazing. Everything was great.
Amazing burnt ends. Love this place!
Me an wife came in got the big gun combo platter ww got as a aide thw mac an cheese bites they was very hard but the rest of out food was wonderful
Great food and Great service !! Smokin Gun's never disapoints !!
Excellent food it comes out hot great atmosphere nice place to go for lunch for dinner in a nice place just to hang out with friends it is some good ole BBQ
A a great place to stop in and eat. Loved the ribs! Family place.
Wow! The burnt ends are AMAZING!!! The corn bread was the BEST I've ever eaten! The service was great, the food was awesome and was served very quickly!!! A great experience all around!!!
The service and food was great! I was expecting a little more food than what we had on our combo platter but I would still eat there again! I will also recommend it to others!!
Had the Burnt Ends platter. Burnt Ends= Very dry and not tender. The rub was great though. Maybe because we went 1 hr before close and they were just dried out. I was pretty bummed. Corn nuggets and Potato Casserole = good Cornbread- very dry :(
First and best place to eat in North Kansas City! We had burnt tips, chili and a mixed appetizer plate. The plates were all cleaned when we left.
Great KC bbq. We ordered the brisket sandwich. It was cooked perfect. We love the sweet and sour slaw. The beans have a great smoky flavor. Will definitely order from them again
I ate there three times while I was there. I loved the burnt ends and the smoked salmon. However, the sides and the cornbread were lacking. I would recommend going but I think I could only just recommend the pork and beans and the sweet potato waffle fries but only because they were barely fit to eat. It's a shame their side weren't better!! Then it would be a whole lot better place to go.
I had the Triple D plate - Smoked Turkey, Brisket, & Burnt Ends w/beans, mac & cheese bites, and corn. Oh, and a Boulevard KC Pilsner... I couldn't eat it all! (Left some cornbread & pickles.) I really enjoyed the beans. They were a great balance of sweet & smoky. But the star was the burnt ends! They had a nice bark, but were still moist and flavorful. Complemented with the hot and mild sauces and it was just good BBQ!
This was my first time there. We ordered a lot of things to try them out. We got the DDD platter and the appetizer sampler. The DDD has burnt ends, brisket, and Turkey. We selected potato casserole, onion rings and beans. Everything was good. The only thing we did not like was the pulled pork.
Excellent prices and best meats I've seen!
We had a party for my mother in law. They did a great job taking care of all of us!! Food is amazing!
Best burnt ends I've had in a long time! Great service too!
It was very good. Good service, Good prices too!
This is now my second least favorite BBQ in KC. Recently we had the burnt ends, pulled pork sandwich, and two kids hotdog meals. The meat was so salty and wasn't very good. Maybe they dumped the salt on to cover up the bad taste of the meat. We woke up in the night feeling ill. There are definitely better choices for BBQ in KC.
So good! Wish I bought more bottles of their spicy bbq sauce!!
We loved the live music upstairs early evening. Waitress was wonderful!! Food was good, served hot and as ordered. Patio looking out towards downtown and Union Station nice view.
Fantastic food! Good service! We will definitely be going back.
Highly recommend this place. We tried pretty much every kind of meat and everything was very flavorful. The broccoli and potato casseroles were both amazing, too. The Mac and cheese bites were a little dry for my liking, but the corn (fritter) bites were great. The only thing I would recommend is to have more BBQ sauce varieties. With that being said, we will be back next time we are in KC!
I always get the burnt end plate. They have good sides, my favorites are the Mac & cheese bites and potato casserole.
It was horrible. Ordered burnt ends beans and potato salad, the burnt ends tasted like it was cooked in the oven (no smoke flavor no crispy bark no nothing). Beans were cold and the potato salad horrible. The bad thing about it is I gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave the place a second chance and I do not live close to NKC. If I make the 40 min drive for a second chance it better be good. So I'll just stick to what I know is good which is not smokin guns bbq!!!
Best bbq in the KC area. I've been here 50years.
Quiet family friendly atmosphere with award winning BBQ. I recommend the Combination Platter for a variety of BBQ meats and the spicy sauce! Lots of sides to choose from. And quality kids menu items.
Good barbaq and friendly atmosphere
I was in the area for a meeting and saw that this place was only a block away. I had never been here before but heard great things about their BBQ and wanted to try it. I bought a slab of Short Ribs and a pint of BBQ Beans to go. We reheated them and both were excellent. I want to go back again. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Not impressed. Tried for the first time in a while. Ordered 1/4 lb of brisket and 1/4 of sausage. Sausage was ok but brisket looked and tasted like it was over baked in an oven yesterday and reheated in a microwave. It was grey in color, curled up on the plate, no smoke flavor at all. Service was slow and we needed to have a quick lunch and go so I didn't say anything.
I came to K.C. for work and being that it is K.C I decided to look up a few different places to try some K.C BBQ. The first one that popped up was Smokin' Guns BBQ and I decided to try it out since #1 it was the closest to my location and #2 it has been on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. As I'm looking at the smorgasbord of delicious entree's on the menu and talking with the waitress, I had a customer sitting behind me tell me to go with the burnt ends plate, and I tried it and let me tell you they just about melt in your mouth! Honestly if I had a hollow leg or bottomless stomach I would never stop eating them, they're that good. I highly recommend this place and if I'm down in K.C again, I will be back to Smokin' Guns. I can DEFINITELY see why Guy Fieri said this place has dynamite BBQ.
The only reason I give it a 1 is cause the wait staff was pleasant and friendly. The BBQ and burnt ends were far from having any flavor.. save your time and money and find somewhere else.
I really like this place. Service is ok, but the fries and sandwiches are great. They have regular and hot sauce and both are tasty. A little on the pricey side, but good.
Start out with a very chill atmosphere with some TVs with the race or game on and very friendly staff that greet and seat you, very spacious and not packed in seating which is great for when you get that pile of awesome barbeque because boyhowdy it can get crazy! It's so good you will have it gone quick if u can even finish to very generous proportions you receive! Wash it all down with any of the many beers to choose from and have leftovers for breakfast it's just that good here and they treat ya right. Bbq on
Great food, service and atmosphere.
Really good! Thought the sauces were good but not great
Bought the daily special and it was awesome brisket
The food was very good at Smokin' Guns and I enjoyed having the burnt ends which were fun to dip in barbecue in barbecue sauce. The other things that were good to eat there were the potato salad and macaroni and cheese bites.
Great workingmans BBQ! Love the spicy sauce. Good sides.
Man oh man we have been from N-W Missouri to Memphis to K.C and ate BBQ every day this was the best. They get two thumbs up from me.
flEnjoy this place for lunch. Not too expensive... Good service, some nice sides and the pulled pork BBQ is always tasty.
It was great as always. I took a friend from out of town and she really liked it too.
Awesome BBQ, tasty sides & impressive menu. Can't wait to go back. Also has a nice outdoor deck topside with live music on the weekend. And great service too.
Good food lots of space killer bar and live music
Great burnt ends! Fast and friendly service!
Amazing food, incredible staff. Great local restaurant.
Great BBQ. Not my favorite but I have been back several times. Staff is very courteous and helpful.
Food was great along with service and atmosphere.
We regularly go here and I absolutely LOVE their pulled pork. I'm not a salad person typically but this is one of the few places I always get one to eat while I wait on the entree. Never had a bad experience in 8 years. Keep being awesome!
When I received my burnt ends platter with onion rings and potatoe salad. There was a piece of paper in my onion rings. I also ordered bbq French fries they were awesome. It's a little pricey to my standards.
This was my second time here. I really believe they have the best beans and burnt ends in town. Great place to have a party of basically any size or just come by yourself. This place is worth your stop. Daily specials and fantastic appetizers. I live in KC and should honestly become more frequent.
Always great. Get the Triple D sampler platter
Awesome Guy Ferreira was right on. Monday late lunch so not crowded. Six people, we shared fried beans, corn nuggets, bbq beans, fried pickles, fried sweet potatoes and corn bread. Mains were brisket, turkey, sausage and ribs. Plus 2 sandwiches and a pizza for the picky one. Sauces were excellent, and when mixed, even better. Heard no complaints and sent back clean plates, with a small home box for later. Prices average to $$, value is worth it. Dale
It was great. We ordered an appetizer and burnt ends and both were very well made and extremely filling. It was a little slower due to us being in between the lunch and dinner rushes but the service was great.
Meats real dry..ribs ok..sausage bad!!! Never again..B A D
The food was great and they are knowledgeable of gluten sensitivity. Low rating is only because when putting my burnt ends into the take home container I found a hair underneath. When pointed out they gave me 20% credit for half of my burnt ends I was not going to eat. Customer service is pretty terrible if they make a mistake.
Food and service was excellent.
Great service. Very friendly. Yummy food.
The potato casserole was the best thing on my plate.
It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. Pretty average flavor on the meat. We had the Triple D plate or whatever it's called. Brisket and ham was tough and rubbery like it had been sitting out for awhile. Very little flavor. Ribs were.. meh. Not somewhere I'd recommend for KC BBQ.
One of THE BEST BBQ in KC. Get the burnt ends. They know what they're doing. Cold beer, expanded space, would be great for a party.
I wasn't impressed. The brisket was tough, sweet potatoes fries were soft. Was very large place can accommodate a large party, it's clean and well maintained.
Was very disappointed, order all to go a brisket sandwich asked if wanted bread or bun and I said bun and a triple D plate and deviled eggs appetizers. Expressed that "no pickles please" several times on anything. Got to hotel and first the sandwich had no bun and under all the meat in the platter were two big pickle spears. I asked before, during and after prep to ensure no pickles as I am allergic to them. No longer referring people here.
The BBQ was very good and the service was great. Will definitely go back
I had the burnt end plate with beans and broccoli casserole. The meat was good, but not great. Seemed a little dense and a little dry as though they trimmed it too much. Remember, a little fat will add tenderness and flavor. The beans were okay and I found the casserole a great direction for comfort food and very tasty.
Great portion sizes in comparison to price, in a town filled with BBQ places, snokin guns is a great place to get some fried macaroni and pulled pork and just enjoy yourself. Large relaxed dining room allows for quick service and non intrusive yet attentive staff.
Expensive, the waitress was nice, however, they took 15 minutes to put my simple brisket meat on a bun & serve it to me, but when I got it, it was cold, & the meat was super dry, as in no seasonings on it & it was just boiled brisket apparently. S A D & Don't waste your hard earned money here!
The service was quite good but I struggled to find anything on the menu that was great my experience is the brisket was the best choice
i cried tears of joy.. had to personally thank the people that made this creation.. i wish i could rate them 10 start
Nice clean building, sides were great, BBQ was garbage. Sausage tasted like microwaved Italian sausage, pulled pork tasted like it was from a gas station, brisket was beef jerky. Definitely at the very bottom for KC BBQ. Takes us down a notch as a city... There were positives, like the ranch, but this is a BBQ restaurant and that was the worst part. Boulevard Wheat was solid...
This place is delicious! We tried a combo platter and it didn’t disappoint. They have a sweet and a spicy sauce - both great! Also, my super picky kids cleared their plates. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a good local bbq place.
Great food as always. Server attentive, but not intrusive. With family visiting from Las Vegas, we talked for a couple of hours. No problem said the staff. Just a good, friendly place. Thanks
Great food at a great price and very good staff loved it
It's crazy how good the food is for the price.
Ate there today. Ordered brisket sandwich, bbq chips and beans. Beans were good, chips cold however all their awards could not make the brisket less dry.
Great food. Ribs and burnt ends were delicious. Penny made our first visit there wonderful. We will definitely visit when back in KC.
We unknowingly went in right at closing on a weekday (7:58, they closed at 8). I'm in the service industry, so I felt pretty terrible about that and wanted to go somewhere else, but the waitress (I forgot her name, sorry!) was friendly and inviting and wouldn't hear a thing about how much I thought I was inconveniencing her. The service was fast but not at all rushed, the food was great, and my wife and I had a great date night.
Just like to say the people who work there are the most gracious people I have ever met. I am handicapped and was met at the door by a server with the door opened. Sat us at a table and was very nice the whole time we was there. Also they have the best burnt ends. Love them . and thank you Smoking Guns.
Great simple BBQ, 3 sauce options, big plates! Go for a platter for 2 or 3
Burrito bowl with burnt ends very good. A big portion. Did not need the chicken breakfast taco but it was maybe even better. The restaurant was very clean and service was good
Only the best BBQ in Kansas City. They offer great lunch specials with the tastiest BBQ ever! Come and enjoy the Guy Plate. It’s everything that he had while filming there.
We were in town for the weekend and had been watching 'Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives' on the Food Network on the plane so we decided to see if there were any restaurants in KC that had been featured. Smokin' Guns BBQ was the closest that was open on President's Day when we were there so we have it a shot and we were NOT disappointed. We tried a multi-meat platter and it was excellent. Our favorites were the pulled pork, ribs, and potato casserole, but it was all delicious. We showed up a half hour before they were going to closer, but they were still super friendly and attentive. It's a great place that seemed a little hidden, but worth finding it.
Not impressed. Brisket and turkey were both dry and flavorless. Ribs were fine, pulled pork was great. Bbq beans were great. Broccoli casserole was COLD. None of the meat was hot. Everything was microwaved; nothing was fresh
Great food and prices. They have sides you don't usually find at a BBQ restaurant, such as potato casserole, deviled eggs and green rice. I had the lunch regular size sandwich with brisquet, which had seven or eight slices of meat. With a side dish of BBQ chips and dip along with a soft drink it was $7.00 total. I plan to go back. The servers were fun too.
Was super excited to try this restaurant. Very dissatisfied with the meats. Ordered the Triple D plate which consisted of burnt ends, brisket and turkey. All good choices, am I right? Negative. Burnt ends were dry hunks of meat with no flavor. The brisket was tough, dry and thin and also flavorless. The turkey was just sad. I've had better turkey from Oscar Meyer lunch meat. I'm giving this review two stars only because the service was good and the sides were tasty. Ordered the Mac and cheese bites, corn nuggets and broccoli casserole and these were very tasty. Unfortunately I didn't come for the sides. So save your money and go to a different place in Kansas City for BBQ. Either Guy is slipping on his recommendations or this place was much better when he visited.
Damn good. Not to expensive
Great kc bbq. Try the smoked burger!
*I wish they had a 4.5 star. The 4 does not do it justice but it is not quite deserving of a 5 star. It wasn't the best barbecue I've ever had, but it was very enjoyable. The sweet potato fries were fantastic! The sandwiches are pretty affordable, around $8. The Burnt Ends were tender and tasty. I like that they were not covered in sauce. Great as is or you can add some of there sauces. This place is off the beaten path, but definitely worth the drive. It has a huge open seating with banquet tables and chairs. The prices are average compared to other bbq joints and the food came quick. I will definitely be going back to try some other things and get more burnt ends. The staff were very patient and answered all of my many questions.
Fast service, and excellent burnt tips.
Good baby back ribs. Sides potato casserole, BBQ beans and great onion rings. Fries ok and stay away from Mac and cheese bites.
