Went to Scott's kitchen this morning for the first time to get breakfast and went off the suggestion of the owner to get the burnt end Burrito. Wow definitely a game changer in breakfast burritos it was excellent and the customer service was also the same. 5 star for me.

On our way to the airport from out of town, we were greeted at the door by Scott the congenial owner, who welcomed us, described the the specials and directed us to the line. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about this place before, in a town that prides itself on BBQ, the brisket and the burnt ends were informed, moist, smoky and completely satisfying. Better than most. A signature item, ghost pepper sausage was delightful and unique. All in all a really great experience picking up some friends at the airport and enjoying a great lunch over some Kansas City BBQ. We will certainly be back!

Stopped in for breakfast on the way to the airport, with my husband!! I had the homemade ghost pepper sausage breakfast burrito! Absolutely delicious! Never been one for BBQ sauce on my breakfast, but it was on the table so I thought, why not!? Portion size was enough for breakfast... and second breakfast! The service was spectacular, my husband and I will definitely be back for lunch in the near future!

Visiting from out of town on business. My colleague found this small goldmine Best shrimp tacos I’ve ever had!!! I had the whitefish taco but substituted with shrimp. Delicious!

EXTREMELY GOOD BBQ! A must try! I will ask for the burnt ends to be cut a couple more times next time though. My daughter had a little trouble with cutting the big chunks. This in no way had any affect on the taste though. Still amazing! Brisket is also in my top five for the city!

My family eats bbq in Kansas City a lot. We find this is some of these best there is. As of now it’s a hidden gem. The menu is large and innovative. We tried a variety of different bbq options, chicken wings, a bowl, and tacos. With all the meat and fish being smoked in house the quality is amazing. The service was outstanding and prices were reasonable. They are closed on the weekends. Parking lot is large. It’s worth a drive to come to Scott’s.

Oh my goodness! What an intriguing menu. We came here yesterday as a part of Joe's BBQ Quest. Top notch food. I had the brisket bowl, so good. Also the whitefish taco was one of the best I've ever eaten. We got to sample ribs, burnt ends, homemade ghost pepper sausages and wings. All were amazing. The sausages were delicious with a touch of heat. Next time gotta try their homemade Chorizo. Definitely will go again. They also do breakfast until 11.

I tried Scott's for the first time today and I have to say it ranks up there as some of the best BBQ in KC. The food was amazing, the presentation was causally classy, and my meal was brought to my table by Scott himself. If I have to find anything negative it would have to be the hours. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, and I want to go back for dinner now

Coming from Wisconsin I wanted to try authentic KC barbecue. This place did not disappoint. The brisket sandwich had THICK pieces of brisket. The sandwich was big and plenty of meat. The brisket taco was awesome. The price was very reasonable and take out couldn't of been faster. To the young woman Cammy ( hope the spelling is close ) working there who took time out of her busy lunch rush to stand and talk to me I wanted to let her know we're not getting older mentally or physically. I work just down the road and had heard many good things about Scott's so decided to try it out. I couldn't be happier that I did! Now we have them cater most of our events and I eat there at least once a week. Best BBQ in the Northland by far and in the running for best in KC. Burnt Ends are phenomenal. The menu is different than any other BBQ joint I've been to and it is a great change of pace. Absolute must haves in my opinion are the Burnt End Tacos and the Pulled Pork Bowl.

Who does insanely good burnt end breakfast tacos? This place does. I am totally addicted to them as are my customers who I treat to Scott’s tacos every time I am in town. My co worker stopped in and got the burnt end burrito and was equally amazed at how good they were. I have also had the pork breakfast tacos which were also very good. I realize just how difficult it is to serve competition quality burnt ends day in and day out like Scott does. Other BBQ places in KC of which I have tried many many times over the last 38 years that I have been traveling to KC for business almost monthly do not seem to be able to copy the success that Scott has. You can really taste and see just how all his hard work in the pit really truly pays off big time! I am anxious to try the ribs and some of the other various menu items in the near future. In closing, if you have not tried Scott’s burnt ends yet it is a must do event to have some of The Very Best in KC Burnt Ends!

Great little place! I was able to walk over during a lunch break from a meeting at Four Points by Sheraton. It doesn't have a lot of seating but that's OK. I ordered the Brisket Burrito with a side of, beans. Everything was fantastic! The burrito had good flavor, with just a little bit of heat. The beans had a little more sweetness. I enjoyed dipping the burrito in the, beans for a little more heat and sweet combo. Portion size was very nice. Not too much that I was stuffed, but enough to keep me satiated through the, afternoon. The food came out very, quickly and the, staff was very available and attentive to any needs. I am not in the area very often, but hope to make it back soon! Thanks for the great experience!

Noticed this little place on the way into our hotel, decided to try their breakfast and let me tell you the taste was anything but little! Best hashbrowns ive had in a while and quiet impressed with the biscuits and gravy! My eggs (over med) we fried to perfection. I will be trying their lunch soon! Service fast n friendly . Walk up counter and dining area w window front, nice natural light. Very comfy lil place and loved that you can smell the wood burning as you walk up.

Never had burnt ends before. Tried at 2 other places before coming here and thought the other places were average. This place had the best by far. Both sauces are delicious too. I don't even like coleslaw, and their jalapeno apple slaw is so good. Friendly workers also.

If you fly into Kansas City looking forward to barbecue ASAP, you're in luck. Scott's Kitchen is just around the corner and near the highway. The meats are smoked on site and will have your mouth watering as soon as you get into the parking lot. A two plate meal with two sides and a soda will cost you about $17 but it's well worth it. There is lighter fare available for lighter appetites. Today I had the burnt ends and brisket, it was it's absolutely delicious and the spicy BBQ sauce not too hot.

Excellent! First time here and I got the burnt ends and they were fantastic. Great smoky flavor and not too fatty. Also a very generous portion. The cheesy potatoes are also excellent. I got the beans as well and while they were good, they are definitely unique. Can't wait to come back and try their other menu items!

Convenient location near the airport. Small unassuming restaurant with great flavors! Scott came out to talk to us while we ate, and we ended up ordering BBQ to take on our flight back home. Scott knew how to fix it up so we can take it. BBQ was the best I had in Kansas City. Go to Joe's Kansas City BBQ for the experience, go to Scotts for the flavor.

Wow! Great BBQ. The sauce from the kitchen is somewhere between Hawaiian and KC. The sauce at the table was different. The ribs, brisket and pulled pork were all excellent. Their creamy potato dish was superb, don't miss it. Service was good. Among the best BBQ places in KC.

I had lunch here and it was very busy. The place was clean and neat. All employees were friendly and helpful. I had the burnt end sandwich which wasn't that large and it cost $9. I thought it was TOO expensive. The baked beans were good but not great. It took quite awhile to get my food. My main complaint is that they did not have any lunch specials which I thought was odd. Decent place, but there is better BBQ in Kansas City.

Been here a couple of times now. Close to the airport and a great place to stop in for lunch. This is a walk-up-and-order type of place. I had the fish tacos (both times). Actually, I was going to try something else the second time but liked the tacos so much after the first visit that I just had to have them again. Tends to be very busy during the noon lunch rush but they do a good job of managing it and getting the food out in a timely manner. Another cool thing is you will find Scott, the owner, walking around and talking to patrons. Say hi to him and let him know how the food is. I think you'll be pleased.

Everything was fantastic. Scott came out to us and chatted with us, he is really great guy. Him and his staff were so kind to us. Furthermore the food was absolutely perfect. I had the 4 bones (ribs) no sauce and the chicken thighs no sauce. Coming from a guy that avoids sauce, the rub on everything was stellar, full flavor and I didn’t taste an over abundance of sugar. I did taste the spicy bbq sauce, it was killer! Sides were also incredible. I tried the cheesy potatoes, the slaw and the beans. All them were spectacular. Enjoy!

Was very impressed, I love places like this that tend to be smaller and more down home, the owner walking through the dining area checking in on everyone. All employees personable and attentive. Easy to get to just off 29 and close to the airport. I had the smoked ends (very tender) and the pulled pork. Sauces (sweet and spicy) both very good. Would recommend to anyone and looking forward to coming back. They also have a breakfast menu that looks very good.

Dropped in for breakfast! First visit and tried 2 different breakfast tacos one sausage and one burnt end. They both had great flavor and I would recommend trying them both. The staff was very friendly from taking my order to delivering my food I definitely will make a return trip in the future.

Oh man ... so glad this place is here next to KCI Expo and all the hotels. Don’t need to travel far for excellent, excellent bbq while visiting Kansas City. Pulled pork - tender. Chicken - tender, smokey goodness. Turkey - surprisingly good. Really want to try their burnt ends ... gonna go try before my visit to Kansas City is over. Sides were amazing. Apple vinegar cole slaw has a wonderful kick to it, not too heavy on the mayonnaise, which is perfect; potato salad was bomb! Baked beans and cheesy potatoes - my kids digged it. Location is right next to airport - please be sure to stop by when you first arrive and leave Kansas City, you won’t regret it. Note their hours are 7am-3pm.

After reading great reviews of this place, my husband and I were really looking forward to trying it. We liked the brisket and jalapeño coleslaw. However, the burnt ends were almost nothing but fat. I love good burnt ends, but these were very disappointing. It was hard to pick much actual meat out of them, and even bites that looked meaty were mostly rubbery fat. Yuck. The ghost pepper sausage was interesting, but a little goes a long way due to the spiciness. The cheesy potatoes might have been really good if they were hot, but they were lukewarm at best. As we were leaving, my husband told one of the servers about the fatty burnt ends, and all she said was "I'll tell them." It would have been nice if she had offered to get us something else instead. Not sure if we'll go back.

Thoughtful, well-timed service--completely stress free. My family pushed together a couple tables outside and they had no problems. The ribs and burnt ends were moist, tender and delicious. The Cole slaw had wonderful flavor. Everything my family tried from the meat to the sides was fantastic. Keep up the great product, guys!

Hands down the best place to get barbecue. Scott loves what he does and it shows in everything. I order frozen bulk barbecue to take home with me on the plane every time I'm in town. I get to the airport a little early because I know security is going to want to take a peek. He provides detailed instructions on exactly how to reheat it, too!

Shouldn’t be considered barbecue. Not worth it. Too expensive, drive 5 more minutes farther for Smokehouse or smoke box. Sauce is really sweet. Spicy sauce is same as sweet with a kick at the end. Brisket sandwich was thick dry brisket, more like a roast than barbecue. I want my money back.

Fantastic!!! Brisket chili should be served in a bathtub ... I could wallow in it all day long. Smoked ghost pepper sausage is made in house and has the most perfect grind. Spicy, but not so hot that you can't taste the sausage. This place is going to be added to our favorite restaurants in the area!

An absolute hidden gem, especially for travelers in and out of the airport. I came in early on business and had time to kill in the morning. Scott’s came up in a search and given how close it was to the airport, we gave it a go. And what a go! The biscuits and gravy I had were delicious and a friendly portion. My coworker had barbecue and was just as pleased. Top that off with a comfortable setting, nice staff, and a constantly topped-off cup of coffee and you have a breakfast worth repeating. I’ll be back any time I’m back in KC!

Stopped here because it was right near our hotel and was not disappointed! I had the breakfast bowl with burnt ends and it was very good. Meat was very tender. With the potatoes, egg, cheese it was very filling. Kids had pancakes that were fluffy with thick slices of bacon. Breakfast for 4 was around 30 dollars.

Scott's Kitchen is normally only open on weekdays for breakfast and lunch, but they announced they would be open on all Saturdays in December 2018. I have been wanting to try Scott's Kitchen, so this was the perfect time to try them for the first time. My wife, my son and I went for Saturday breakfast. I ordered the burnt ends breakfast burrito, my wife had the brisket breakfast burrito and my son was less adventurous and just ordered 4 pancakes. The meat in the burritos was delicious and the burritos were filled with scrambled eggs, cheese, potatoes and a touch of salsa. Attached are some pictures of my burrito deconstructed, so you can appreciate the large amount of ingredients. I want to go back for dinner to try some more of their delicious barbecue!! 2 types of bbq sauce that are made in-house had outstanding flavor and were great on our breakfast burritos!! Highly recommend trying Scott's Kitchen when in the vicinity of Kansas City International!!

Considering the meal options around this area are not good, this place was a paradise! I was working at the aiport for about a week and was tired of fast food and subpar options. I came on a Sunday, but the place was closed, I should have looked at that before. Then I came back on a Monday and had the pork bbq tacos with the spicy sauce. They were delicious! Fresh yummy food, would definitely come back if I'm around the area. I love spicy food so I was happy with the level of heat, but be aware... it's HOT! Great value for the quality, definitely recommend!

STL area resident visiting Kansas City. I love bbq and so I was very happy when I was offered to be taken to lunch for KC BBQ. My girlfriend's father said this was his BBQ joint. I must say, I'm impressed. Delicious ribs, scrumptious and hardy BBQ Baked Beans, and cheesy potatoes that were not too smothered in cheese. The environment is cozy and warm. I enjoyed the eclectic group of people that filled the small room. (46-48 occupant maximum inside) I'd recommend a stop by. You, probably, won't regret it.

I stopped in when I found Scott's Kitchen online during a visit to the KC area, staying near KCI. I had the pork & brisket 2 meat combo. Being a native of North Carolina, I am partial to pork and like thinner sauces with a vinegar base. What a surprise to find Scott with a blend of KC sweetness & NC tang in the sauce. Both pork & brisket were great. The jalapeño apple slaw is outstanding. I WILL be back when I come through the area.

This place is KC Hidden Gem! If you want amazing bbq then come on over. I had the pulled pork and the brisket and talk about melt in your mouth meat. The rubs, spices and sauce just mix together and it's an explosion in your mouth. None of it over powers the other. The meats aren't drenched in sauce either, which makes it amazing. If you want TRUE KC BBQ come on over to this place!!!

Ate lunch here today with my wife and I had very high hopes. Let me start with the general flavor profile is spot on what I love! Now to the bad, Ribs way overcooked,I know a lot of people love them that way"fall off the bone" style. I prefer them competition style were there's a little slight tug but come off the bone clean. Brisket was dry. Chicken thighs, well we had 2 and one was spectacular and 1 was Sahara desert. The good Burnt ends great. Sides were all great. We might have caught them slightly off game, but I was a little disappointed after all the great reviews they have had.

Excellent addition to the KCI food desert. A first rate primer on KC BBQ with traditional and SW inspired offerings. Brisket tacos were astoundingly good, the burnt end bowl was really good though the chunks needed to be more chopped than chunky. Definitely coming back to sample the plate lunches.

Drove by going to our hotel and decided to get breakfast. So glad we did. It was fantastic. Lots of smoked meats and he makes his own sausage. Will stop and have lunch next time I'm in KC.

We also had a talk to Scott real nice guy and we also had a chance to tell him about our farming business, which is M.A.D. farms. If ur in town and your looking for a place to eat breakfast or lunch in Kansas City I highly recommend Scott's kitchen.

Once again we did a Google search for local breakfast restaurant. We found a barbecue place that also serves breakfast. We were very pleasantly surprised! My husband ordered a breakfast bowl with brisket. The brisket was so tender! and I order pancakes hash browns and their homemade sausage. We really liked the sausage. The breakfast was delicious! Everything was so good I wanted to go back for lunch! The service was great too!

Absolutely loved the burnt ends and BBQ beans. The ghost pepper jack sausage was fantastic, but was room temperature. Would have been phenomenal if a bit hotter, but tasted great

Food was excellent. Service was fast. Room was full, even at 2 pm, with is a good sign. Lots of varieties, not your typical "BBQ Joint." The brisket paired well with the spicy sauce and the mild sauce was great with the pulled pork. The Apple Jalapeno Slaw was delicious (and not too spicy). I don't think they offered fries as a side (GASP). I got the beans, but I just didn't sense that they had enough cooking attention and flavor. Should have gone with the Pickle and Egg Potato Salad. Looking forward to going back and trying the Turkey, Chicken, Ribs, Burnt Ends, Homemade Chorizo, and did I hear someone order Fish?

I travel often for work, and try to give every BBQ spot near the hotel a fair shot when I do. I have to say, this is the best I have had and the prices are more than fair. The chicken and burnt ends were outstanding along with their barbecue sauce. The pulled pork taco equally so, I’m usually skeptical when it comes to turning everything into tacos.. but very impressed in this case. The sides of BBQ baked beans and cheesy potatoes were good too but definitely outshined by the meat. The staff seems to love their job and really care about the food they prepare, which we can agree goes a long way. If you’re in town, I highly recommend stopping in. You’ll be enthusiastically greeted and fed before driving home fat, dumb and happy with wallet intact. I know I will next time I fly into MCI, by then I may actually be hungry again. Now it’s time to nap.

By far the best BBQ spot! Towers over every other BBQ place I've been to all around greater Kansas City area. Tender meats..fall off the bone ribs. Worth checking out.

I've always wanted to try this place since I've heard they have excellent BBQ. I dropped off a.friend at the airport so I came for breakfast. The burnt end breakfast burrito was recommended and I'm glad I took the recommendation. Freaking delicious!!!

Staff was really friendly. I had the brisket and it was pretty bad. Now, i've had a lot of brisket in my life. Maybe it's because i'm used to southern and texas bbq, but this was the driest piece of meat I've ever had in my life. It was tough, hard to chew. Ended up only eating half because it was just that bad. My friend had the burnt ends which are fattier and he said they were really good, though.
