We came here for our anniversary dinner 5/23, We sat outside, I ordered a margarita frozen. They dont have frozen drinks. So I got one on the rocks NASTY! oh my gosh gross I was so mad I paid $10.95 for it. Then I asked for salt for my food never brought salt. I asked for more tortillas, my husband finished before she brought them back. She probably came out a maximum of 5 times to see if everything was okay. And they weren't even busy!! My husband swears she was drunk or drinking... this was our first time there and will be our last .

This little gem makes me homesick for Phoenix, the food is so good and comforting! We got both the shrimp and fish ceviche, fried jalapenos and street tacos; chicken, carne asada & al pastor. Did not disappoint. The staff is also very friendly, attentive and paid attention to detail which was wonderful and made our experience very enjoyable. It has been a while since I have been here and this confirms it will be happening in the future, A LOT!

Came late at night. We ordered and our food came out fast. My girl didn't like what she got and they were happy to swap it out for something she would enjoy better. Staff were busy but attentive and helpful. Food was quite good! Might need to make this a regular late night stop when I'm out this way!

This is the most authentic Latin cuisine I had while in Kansas City. Located in a primarily Hispanic strip of businesses. Building is tattered and worn, but don't judge a book by its cover. I think the ceviche was made to order, which I don't care for because I like it marinating for at least 12 hours before eating to really let the flavors develop. It was still good, but could've been so much better. Chock full of meat which was a definite plus. Service was wonderful sitting at the bar. Bartender was cheerful and energetic, lovely to talk to during our visit. Pricing is very reasonable and the Margarita happy hours are the icing on the cake.

This might be a place you end up because the lines at nearby restaurants are too long but this is some of the best Mexican food I've had. Specifically, the chimichangas are delicious. This place is underrated in my opinion. It doesn't have the ambiance of other Mexican places but on food alone you won't regret it.

I love this place and have been coming here for years. When we originally began frequenting the place the wait staff didn't speak English. I enjoy all of their food but my favorite are their al Pastor street tacos. Their ceviche is also excellent. They have a great happy hour and reverse happy hour.

I got a coupon through facebook for a free Birthday meal. The food was good, but the server was rude. They weren't knowledgeable about the coupon. I think because my meal was free is why she was rude. I wasn't asked if I wanted a drink while I waited. I gave 4 stars because the food was good, but I dont think I'll go back.

They brought out 'complementary' chips and charged us for it. Requested the guac (which was part of the plate) on the side and received no guac. No attention was given to what I repeated multiple times. Terrible service. Go to the neighboring restaurants if possible.

Wow!!! I just left this place and had absolutely terrible service, never got water, had to get up to get menu after the food came we never seen the waitress again. No chips no sauce. I then had to get up to get my bill and then again to pay. I've been here several times and never experienced service like this and it wasn't packed.

The street taco's we ordered were great. HOWEVER, the customer service was terrible. For starters my friend ordered flour tortillas and the OWNER who took our order was like yeah no problem. came out with the food and had given her corn and the waitress proceeds to say they are out. My other friends food was cold. ALL of it, I ordered a margarita which I never received. We then had to go inside to pay our bill and when he gets to my tab tells me its $11 which sounds weird to me because my friend ordered 3 street taco's and paid $6 and I got four and I'm like that doesn't make sense. The owner then tells me that it costs that much because he charged for chips. which I didn't even ask for the waitress just brought them out. Why would you charge me for chips and no one else at the table. Would never recommend or go back

Don't let the area it's in fool you! Driving by you almost wouldn't see it. We were referred by someone at boulevard brewing co. While visiting the area. That was definitely the best torta I've had in a very long time. They are popular for their margaritas but the fajitas were excellent too.

El Pueblito is probably best known for its very late hours. I was a little annoyed because their website shows $1 specials during Happy Hours and on Tuesdays and there were no $1 specials. Their Happy Hour pricing is also a little skewed between what you read on the menu and what you pay in the end. That being said, it's still inexpensive. The street tacos are great and basically the thing I get each time.

Service was fast and friendly. Fun atmosphere! Plenty of entertainment and loud music. HUGE portions! Food tastes fantastic. No complaints. Even the other diners were friendly and fun to chat with. Great selection of food and if you're thirsty they have a bar to quench you. Prices are very reasonable if not cheap. Ask for Israel. He has the best table-side service ever. He's wonderful and super helpful! No smoking at bar, that was a plus. Parking can be tricky but it's worth it!

Stopped for a quick lunch before our Boulevard tour. I wanted tacos and a little bit of service, so this seemed like the place for both. The lunch specials are a great value: $6 for tacos, rice, and beans is great. It's just too bad, the tacos are disappointing. The taco lunch special had a crispy shell with lettuce and cheese for toppings. I elected to pay an extra $1.50 for steak instead of chicken or ground beef. The carne asada was fine, but just seasoned with salt and pepper. The rice and beans were the saviors of this meal. I usually leave them but, no joke, i could have eaten a bowl of just that. Like others, i found one salsa to be the typical tomato, but the spicy one was fantastic. It made my taco bell style taco more tolerable.

The manager came by and laughingly told us to write a review if we liked everything and to not write a review if we didn't. I had no plans to write a review of any kind, but given what we experienced, and the feeling and vibe of the place making it seem like our experience was likely not that unusual, I figured it would be helpful to forewarn others. We had been here several years ago and so maybe it's under different management now. Waitress was unreliable...she'd say she would bring something and then have to be reminded. The chicken burrito turned out to be beef. My house margarita showed up as a $12 patron margarita. Not cool. My order of extra tamales for my “to go” fajitas turned out to be “zero” tamales when I opened the bag at home. The food was just ok. Not much to brag about here.

The food was good I had the street tacos. Be ready to feel like your in Latin America with the super slow service. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, but it went down hill fast after that. I counted 20 people in there and 4 staff in the front. I ordered a beer with chips and salsa. The chips and salsa came out in about 5 minutes (not bad) the beer never made it to my table. I ate about half of the chips and the waitress looked over at me and I asked for my beer a second time. My street tacos we're delivered about 15 minutes into my visit but still no beer! So I asked the food runner can I please get me beer I ordered? They said "sure" I waited to see if they we're going to bring it over before I started eating and they never did!! I went ahead and ate my tacos without any beverage what so ever on my table.....not even a water! So after I finished all of my food I walked up to the bar and as soon as I get there the one waitress asked "oh you want your beer?" I replied "NO my check please". She seemed surprised. I could understand if this place was full but it wasn't. I could understand if you forgot my beer the first time but to have my appetizer and my dinner finish with nothing to drink the entire 45 minutes I'm in your establishment and to have asked for it several times is totally unacceptable!!!

The American waitress did not seem to be familiar with Latino fare or at least in the capacity that would be expected by those of us who grew up with this food at home. She tried to pass off dry and inappropriate humor as sufficient explanation for being unknowledgeable, short handed and just bad. Food was mostly good if and when you were successful at bullfighting your way through lunch.

I ate most of their pozole but when I was almost done eating the soup with the extra pico de gallo that I asked for. I never expected for the people at this place to add jalapenos to the pico de gallo my mouth was on fire and it hurts so bad. Plus the lady that took my money kinda sounded like she had a problem of me asking pico de gallo in my pozole. because she told me that they don't normally put Pico Dr Gallo in their pozole. I'm sorry u don't have the right to tell me how to eat my food. if this place wants to make it up to me they need to give me a free bowl of pozole without the pick de Gallo having jalapenos.

This place has one of my favorite Mexican happy hours, try the chicken mini tacos and a patron margaritas. Inside they always have music videos playing so it’s a pretty fun atmosphere and in the summer they have a few nice big tables. Their known for their fish tacos but I haven’t tried them, yet!
