Came in while visiting knoxville raceway. Line went quick. Pulled pork was juicy, tender, and had a great smoke flavor. Bbq sauce was good. Mac and cheese and potato salad were right up my alley as well. The girls were very nice at the counter. Good solid BBQ joint.

One of the most misleading menus around. If you order a combo and select "brisket" as your sandwich, you will be charged $1 more. This isn't reflected on the menu and the staff won't let you know beforehand. Oh, and the side orders come in thimble-sized containers.

I may be unfair I am from the south and barbeque is different there most of what i have had in iowa was the same as he could and dry. Im not a big fan of any barbeque I have had in iowa.

The barbecued ribs are excellent, honestly some of the best I've had defiantly the best on this side of the Mason-Dixie line. If there's one complaint I could come up with is that the sides are very small. But that's it everything else is very tasty. I be eating here again.

Had the pulled chicken, good, not dry, would have been better had it been smoked. Cheesy hashbrowns were dry and not very cheesy, cheesy corn was good. Overall, the food could have been warmed, food was fair, with a little growing room, prices were fair. The assembly line/cafeteria style works well. Nice that hand washing is available outside of the restroom.

My prego fiance is from Knoxville, every few months she gets excited to go home so she can swing though Rib Shack for some mac&cheese. Last week she picked it up and brought it home so we could both enjoy. Unfortunately it tasted like it had been scraped out of a burnt pot. Its super unfortunate that we have to worry if our food is even going to be edible after paying for it.

Ordered over phone for a pickup order was told 15 minutes when I arrived was told the were to busy to make my order (restaurant was almost empty) asked if it was being made and was told no get in line. Terrible service. Will never be back.

Ate there twice over the weekend. BBQ Nachos the first time - they were good, homemade potato chips with shredded Brisket, nacho cheese, bbq sauce, I'm not a big fan of nacho cheese, so I won't order it again. The next time we ate there I had the Southern Style Pulled Pork - very good, the slaw on top was good, but not great. A better slaw mix would take this meal over the top. But the meal was still very good. The pork was excellent and homemade chips were very good. Great to have a Mt Dew there. :)

Here's what they don't tell you; the tenderloins are awesome and the onion rings are great too. Granted anyplace with ribs in name is going have great BBQ. The sides are excellent. Cheesy corn, mac and cheese, and the hashbrown casserole are our favorites.

My wife and I visit the Rib Shack when we are visiting her family about once a month. We also bring our friends and racing team into Rib Shack. Tonight we were running a bit busy and super hungry. We walked into the Rob shack at 7:56 and the sign in the door said Open. They said they close at 8 and are closed. I understand it is close to 8pm but it is not 8pm. 3 other customers walked up and they had just locked the door still before 8. That’s 5 customers before the closing time that they refused service. Poor way to run a business and satisfy customers. Will not be returning, will not recommend and will pass on the word about their lack of need for quality business and pleasing customers within their advertised hours and open sign visible with an unlocked door!

The food is very good here. It is order at the counter and self serve on the drink. They have very thin onion rings that are fantastic. I love their briskit. All of their sides are tasty. It is a little high for fast food, though everything is expensive these days. I would highly recommend trying it.

Mac and cheese had a bit of a smoky flavor, that was pretty good. Potato salad was pretty finely mixed up and was mustard-y, which I like. Sort of like a good deviled egg filling. Ribs and meat was good, brisket was a little dry and the pulled pork was a little on the salty side. Overall great sauce and dry rub, though.

Picked up a full rack of ribs for home. Unfortunately the ribs were tough and dry. However, we really enjoyed their Sampler plate at the Iowa State Fair last year.

Place is cozy, pork was dry and it's super quiet all I could hear was the ac fan squeaking. The staff we nice and helped when we needed help other than that one of them sat on their phone for the entire duration of our meal.

Comfort food at its best. Everything I've tried on the menu is delicious. My fav is the brisket with cheesy corn and homemade chips. Great BBQ sauce. Service is always fast. Menu is medium priced. Highly recommend.

Usually decent on weekdays if you are desperate and dont want to vook. Avoid at all costs on weekends. Non seasoned not even hardly warm chicken. Burnt beans( I dont even know how thats dine unless you just dont care and arent paying attention), potato salad had half chunks of not fully cooked potatoes. On top of wrapping our food in plastic wrap so my sons fries turned to a soggy mess. Lost my business forever and warn anyone who comes to knoxville. This town needs a good spot to eat and this aint it. #yourbbqsucks

Best bbq I've ever tasted, period. Problem is we live 30 minutes away and have several times arrived 10-25 minutes before closing and they are already closed. They start swiping under your feet while you are eating, etc., half an hour before closing time. I grew up working in a restaurant, and this in NOT how it should operate. Customers should be welcome to walk in until closing, then the clean up should happen AFTER closing and the doors are locked. Especially since they close already at 8 PM at the latest.

Beans were very dry and and found a long hair my corn. probably form the lack of hair nets. almost no tables were clean one girl was on her phone, and i'm pretty sure the old lady in the back dropped something out of the fridge and put it back in. just disgusting never eating here again.
