Visited Boxer and other BBQ joints to help my sister and bro in law find a caterer for their wedding. Boxer stood out because Renee, the owner, didn’t just let us try their food but presented it to us. She talked about each dish and how they prepare it, but would also give us a few minutes alone to taste their food. THEN she mentioned their “sleeper” is the bread pudding which is deep fat fried and finished with caramel and ice cream. So we stayed a little longer and ordered it from the menu. Pure deliciousness. Glad to have them back open, really great food. The people are very polite and quick to check if you need anything. I believe they will be moving to a new location in the fall so I won't say much about the building other than it's a simple clean place. And the bread pudding, save room for the bread putting. The Prime is only on Friday at least at the time of writing.

OMG! That was some of the best BBQ I have had in a really long time. The bourbon BBQ sauce is best sauce I have had in a very long time and should be a main reason to visit here. The deep fried bread pudding is to die for. The waitress undersold the taste of it. It is so delicious.

Best barbeque ever! We were staying in downtown Omaha and found this spot just 10 minutes away. We have eaten here several times now during this trip. It’s hard to choose my favorite dish among the burnt ends, prime rib, nachos, and smokin’ hot pig. I haven’t tried anything here that I didn’t liked. Best fries on the planet. Very generous portion sizes! Get a to go box and try the bread pudding. I was hesitant to try it but it was highly recommended. It’s so good the whole family devours it. The staff is Friendly and the restaurant is clean!

Boxer BBQ My husband and I were driving to Denver, Colorado from the East coast. Now my husband and I know good bbq from growing up in the south, but we wanted to try some mid-west bbq. My husband is an avid griller and smoker, so he is always interested in trying the local bbq in places. Boxer BBQ did not disappoint! We called ahead to place an order and the staff there was so helpful with ordering. They had their 6 homemade sauces already packaged in containers. The white one was mind blowing for a little kick of heat! They told us about the daily deal which included their bread pudding. We got one to split and holy moly. We wanted to lick the container clean! If you want good local bbq with friendly staff, go to Boxer BBQ!

The small and friendly staff greeted us with a smile. We were seated in a cozy but open dining area. It had the feel of grandma's basement built to be a dining room. By no means does that take away from the quality of this place. The food was Smokey and good. Served fast by a knowledgeable waitress. We were offered a variety of sauces as we dined on tender ribs, Smokey beans and great domestic beer. I'm definitely going back. But...NO SMOKED SAUSAGE was a big bummer. 4 of 5 stars for Boxer BBQ.

If you want drop dead great ribs you can not do any better. They were closed for about a year but they are open again. Friday's after 6:00 pm they have smoked prime rib. Great place to eat.

As a family we do not dine out often, so it is a treat when we do. We've not been in since December, before the "upgrade". We took our children ages 3 and 6 in for lunch and ended up leaving because they no longer serve chicken tenders and lets face it little kids don't care too much for BBQ. It's always been my favorite place to go, so when date night came around we went back and were really looking forward to it! Here's what I noticed. Upon entering you stand in line to give your order, a bit inconvenient since there is not much standing room when you enter. I understand this may be to cut cost of having wait staff. I can deal with that. Then, you notice the prices have gone up. Probably to pay for the "upgrade". Well, it's good food so again, I can deal with it. Everything after that wasn't so easy to accept. The "upgrade" - adding more seating really, has left no room to walk between tables, you have to walk in and out and around other peoples tables just to get back to your table. So at this point I'm slightly annoyed but still looking forward to our food. Then, our food came and that's when the disappointment really hit, the flavor is good, that hasn't changed. But the serving sizes have gone down by about 2/3 - at least. And whereas before I could barely finish my meal, we both left hungry. Over all this "upgrade" seems to be more of a downgrade and it saddens me to say, that after years of this being our favorite place to treat ourselves with a meal out, we will not be returning.

First time here and started with sandwiches for lunch. Both the brisket and pulled pork had a good share of tasty bark. The friendly staff brought us a number of of additional number of sauses to try. Other highlights include the cornbread and baked beans full of meat. Seating was clean with plenty of room. Give this place a shot when you're in CB.

The servings are too small. The previous owner did a better job on the potato salad and the coleslaw, and everything else. My hamburger bun was stale. I was in there recently and asked for extra brisket and got the same portion as my friend. I received four little pieces of brisket, about three tablespoons of mac and cheese, and coleslaw. This was a to go order. I will not be back because I didn't get enough food for $14.00. I can go to Longhorne Steakhouse for the same amount of money and get more food!!!

THE BEST BBQ ON THE PLANET EARTH!!! I'm from Ames and we need them. Moist sweet buttery cornbread, prefected smoked tantalizing mouth watering brisket, amazing garlic honey bbq sauce with a bite that kicks. The horseradish is so good you can just eat it with a spoon. I'm not a bread pudding guy, but this is rediculously amazing!!!!! It's like eating French Toast with Carmel a la mode. The owners were so freindly and happy. They were actually out by the tables talking with the Customers. You never get that service. The servers were actually happy to work there and extremely knowledgeable.

The constant reminders about being a small business so please use cash and otherwise excuse shortcomings is annoying. The current location itself is a little rundown, but the people who work there are incredibly nice, and their food is delicious. We go every Friday. This is the best BBQ place I have ever eaten at. All the meats I've tried have been very tender and flavorful. Personal favorites are the pulled pork and brisket. The sides stand out too, the fries taste like they were lightly battered and when dipped in the honey garlic sauce they are my kryptonite! I reluctantly tried the cornbread as I'm not usually a fan; I'm not sure how but it's way different and I get it almost every time I come here now. The baked beans are my other favorite side; they have a good bbq sauce flavor and chunks of meat in it, they are the best baked beans I've ever had. I have been to half a dozen bbq places and have never been impressed until Boxer. This is now one of our regular spots.
