Always a great place to go and food is always good.
Love the intimacy of the place. Great sound system. Food and drinks good too!
Great music. The food and drinks are very expensive.
This was my first time here and I had a great time. Live music, very good food, good service. Will be returning soon
The Jazz Kitchen really is a hidden gem of Indianapolis! We saw The Directors Jazz Orchestra, who were really fantastic live entertainment. The menu is plentiful, diverse, and priced well. The food was delicious; my wife and I both chose the filet mignon, medium rare and medium, and both were cooked near perfectly. The sides we received, one with a corn dish and the other with a green bean and carrot mixture, were cooked and seasoned very well. We ordered some merlot, which was incredibly smooth and mellow, whiskey sours, and a beer from the tap. Also, our server Jasmine was great!
It was awesome. I'll be back.
I HAD A BLAST! At the Thursday Night Salsa Party! Great music fun people, good drinks! Whenever I come back to Indianapolis I'll make sure I'm there on a Thursday night!
Good food and music
First time going very friendly atmosphere the band was amazing!
A great place for some live Jazz music. Parking is easy and the menu is solid.
I love going dancing at the Jazz kitchen and also their tribute events.
Had a great time good food and drinks
WONDERFUL experience here!!! I loved it! The atmosphere was great, & the energy was really positive. The food was really good, although a bit pricey. But it was worth it. And the live music was OUTSTANDING!
Staff are friendly. I liked the overall experience. Food was a bit pricey for we got, although I loved the desserts!!! 3/5 stars because the music was way, way too loud. The space isn't big enough to have the volume turned up so high. I support the musicians but not me having to get ear plugs just to tolerate the noise. You literally cannot talk to the person sitting next to or in front of you unless you yell at them or bring their face directly next to yours. I'd be willing to try again but first experience was that I paid money for a headache.
Great place to eat and enjoy live music
Wonderful menu selections! We had the Sachmo's Ettouffee and the Not-So-Cajun Chicken after a delightful sampler appetizer. The band was great, Serenade Jazz Orchestra, and played a variety jazz tunes and big band pieces that were very entertaining.
Seriously. So good. Great music. *Great* crowd. AND THEY SERVE FOOD! I didn’t eat here cuz I’m an idiot but the menu is Spanish/New Orleans and everything that I’ve seen come out looks and smells amazing. Don’t be an idiot.
Great music, great food, and good fun
Featured artist was Grammy award winning Jeff Loerber Trio. Ordered Sampler appetizer platter, entrer Walnut encrusted salmon, and bean soup.
Definitely Love being there and Love performing there! Try the Not so cajun chicken, it's THEE BEST!
Intimate showroom with great food and drink. One of Indy's premier live music venues.
Lively music, food was excellent. Minimum $15 order per person. $15 event tickets, available online with a $4 service charge, entry received at door. Small cozy atmosphere
The food was great. I loved the Jazz band that played. Great place to go.
Food is a little pricey but I enjoy the events and music here.
It was crowded and we shared a table with another couple we didn't know. Clint Breeze and his band were Fantastic! The Not-So-Cajun Chicken and Capellini was perfect and had just the right amount of kick. Wait staff hustled to make sure everyone got what they needed. Overall, the evening was a resounding success. I have been many times and will continue to go.
Food and service is great, but good luck finding street parking. Music has never disappointed me.
Great intimate setting.great music
The sever was curt and unfriendly, my dirty rice tasted like it was made with catsup. The dance segment was on point and I had a blast participating
Great music and performance as always. Food wasn't that great tonight but I'll be back.
Great concert!
Great food, great music
The Jazz Kitchen is a cool little spot. It has all the feels of a jazz bar in the likes of Chicago or New York. They do a good job of getting big name jazz artist in as well as some of the lesser known artist that haven't quite been discovered yet. Ticket prices are usually spot on. The food is very good, I have not been disappointed by anything I have ate there. It is a little pricey and usually for a concert they require you to spend money on food or drink so keep that in mind. Overall it's a nice little intimate spot for jazz and if you want to get down, come after hours for a hip hop set with djs and dancing.
Great music and atmosphere as always. Service was not the greatest last night, but will support again. Maybe she was having an off night.
Fun place and great atmosphere. Drink prices are reasonable but they charge $3 for water. I find this rather ridiculous given people are paying $10 cover just to listen to a DJ. If that's all you're drinking I get it but if you're drinking alcohol and want to pace yourself by having a glass of water in between drinks I don't think you should be penalized for trying to be responsible.
To be fair, tonight's visit was during the jazz fest. I would normally visit outside of these special events, but, today was different. The music was great and they are finishing strong with this last act, Badiri Asad. The food was from Yats. While not my favorite, it was okay. I did have my heart set on the JK's paella though. I will stick to visiting on non-event days to get my JK fare.
Had a great time the entertainment was awesome
Great meal, great jazz music performance!! Everything was just wonderful!
was a bit over priced. music was great, food decent
Good food. Jazz is their thing.
Great food dancing and live band
Great food and great show!
Excellent Service and AWESOME entertainment! Keep it up!
Great place for Salsa dancing
I've lucky enough to play here a few times over the past 10 years. It always has great audiences and the staff is always friendly. My only complaint is that I'd like to have a two or three night stand there, in order to hang out in "Naptown" a bit more. This place is a national treasure!
The Jazz Kitchen is one of the most amazing spots in Indy! I highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed!!
Great place to see live jazz. Food is very good as well.
My food was very tasty especially the Veggies, Awesome food & drinks
Amazing music and food!! I will definitely return when in Indianapolis.
My wife and I visited there Monday night for the first time. We had a very good time. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice. I was looking for some place to just relax and this was excellent. And the food...oh my goodness...excellent. I shared what my wife ordered with everyone I knew. it was definitely worth the 1 1/2 drive to get there. It was our first time there..but it will definitely not be the last. Thank you for being so attentive and a great atmosphere.
It was a magical experience!
The Jazz Kitchen is a nationally-known jazz club with a wonderful atmosphere and fantastic food. The music, of course, is always top-notch, no matter what specific genres might be of interest to you. For a night out of good food and music, this is definitely the place. Most of the shows are reasonably priced and the menu prices range from a low end of $5-$10 to upwards of $35-$40 for more high-end items. There is a $15 minimum food/drink purchase.
What a great place to eat and see live music. Go here!
Great music tonight! Good little venue. Street parking only. Go early to get seats closer to stage. You will stand in line outside for the 2nd show. Good food & service but the music is really what does it. We'll go back, for sure.
Next Monday, with a 2nd finger of Bourbon, I hope to have the courage to give my best attempt at the Jazz experience. #GreatJam
Loved the music, the dancing, those who asked me to dance and we're awesome leaders. Music was on point! Thursdays are so much fun!
A great show. A great price to see the show. We had great seats. Food choices were limited for a place that requires you to purchase food with each ticket. Plus the food cost a lot for what you received.
Music Wonderful , food GREASEY
Good service, Not So Cajun Chicken was excellent! Band performing was awesome!
Nice place to host your special events -Birthday Party
Best show club in Indy. Great menu, atmosphere for days. Be up front in the show, relax in the bar, book a party or sit on the patio. One of the few places that attracts the whole cultural rainbow. Skip St Elmos and the Slippery Noodle when you come to Indy and go here.
Awesome spot for live jazz.
Another wonderful evening at the Jazz Kitchen! 25 years of great music!
The best place ever. Great food amazing talent and excellent people. I would love to go back there again.
Good music, good food
Good service, phenomenal food and stellar entertainment!
Great food, service and if you love jazz music this is the place
First time there and enjoyed the food and entertainment.
I love this joint. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Consistently good food and great artists. I don't know when I'll be back, but I will be back. Thanks Jazz Kitchen!
Very pleasant atmosphere, good food and an excellent sound system for live music. The Indy Sax Quartet was very good, great music and a cooperative group that plays well together. Each individual musician is a talented and agile performer and together they have a balanced exciting sound.
Saw a live show there, had dinner and drinks. Was a fun evening and not too expensive. Food was delicious, be sure to try the Blueberry Bread Pudding! As always parking is interesting in Broad Ripple
I always enjoy the Jazz Kitchen, amazing performers & good food!
Great music, the best food, favorite place in town
As a young performer you look for places that inspire you. This is that place! A place that celebrates traditional jazz and introduces new innovative sound. This is a place where the cool kids sit and listen to some of the best music and eat some amazing food. If you ever need a break or a vacation, this is the place that can take you there.
Great time. Great music. Great food and service
Good food, great entertainment and a great staff
Cool atmosphere, awesome theme nights. I gave it 4 starts because I think it is overpriced for what it is. The food is good but nothing exceptional and the drinks are definitely more than they should be. Overall, had a good time and would go back but won’t visit too often to avoid the price tag.
Great crowd, food and services
An institution in central Indiana for 25 years, the Jazz Kitchen does not disappoint.
Intimate Jazz Supper Club featuring local and national artists. Knowledgeable and appreciative audiences amidst an attentive and experienced service staff. The appetizer platter was unrivaled, tasty and worth every penny. Cocktail menu featured some standard fare along with craft beers. If you want a couple hours of great music and food, by all means, check out the jazz lineup or come by for the Jam Sessions and vittles. We will be back.
The venue is great. The setup and sound are a great experience. The service was lackluster. I had the filet mignon and it was the worst I've ever had. The meat was mealy and had a balsamic glaze on top that was unnecessary. After the meal I ordered a martini. Olives are not optional garnish, they are required.
Great entertainment decent food. Good atmosphere
This was my first time here. I have to say it was a good experience, although if I probably would've liked it more if I had seen people my own age there. It definitely felt like a place for the older generation, but there's nothing wrong with that and everybody seemed really nice. From the customers to the serving staff, they all seemed like a really positive bunch, which gave the place a nice homey vibe. The food was really good...I actually stopped to savor it, which I don't normally do. It's pretty spacious when then aren't a lot of customers around and the decor is a little on the rustic side. I'll probably come back with my godfather sometime since this would probably be more of his scene.
The atmosphere was very nice.
Very nice and elegant
Best place for dancing the best Latin music in Indianapolis
Indy Jazz Festival is awesome!!!
Show was awesome...food was, meh! Too salty!
Great atmosphere, great music, great time
Best place to eat great food while listening to great live music. Highly recommended to reserve a seat.
Excellent! Food was great, 2 Girls and the Band were SUPERB! Great time!
I had an amazing time! First time there and it was lovely. The music was great and the food was good. A little on the pricey side and the portion was small. However they were doing two shows so you only get slightly over an hour to enjoy...
Great food n music was great overall
Very relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The show we saw, Rob Dixon, was amazing. The food was cheaper than Texas Roadhouse but the quality was infinitely better. I do wish they were a bit bigger, though. While it certainly did not ruin the evening, and it was admittedly our fault for arriving just at 7:30 when the show was to start, we had to share a table with other customers. Likewise, I saw numerous others having to share tables with others as well. It was a completely packed show so I'm going to assume that the large majority of people were sharing tables with strangers. As I said, this didn't detract from the evening - luckily we were sat with two very friendly older ladies who did not mind at all that we had to intrude upon them. I feel, however, that if they had a larger space they could do away with strangers having to share space. Other than that, it was very enjoyable and we will be going back.
The shows are always wonderful! However, i'd LOVE to see a refreshed, newer menu at the Jazz Kitchen!
The parmesan crusted tilapia and mashed potatoes was life! Great atmosphere
Great place to listen to live music
Good food and entertainment, but friendliness, service, and professionalism could improve. I've been treated rudely there more than once.
Great venue for great music
Great place to hear live music. Not a bad seat in the house! Food was outstanding.
Fun Latin experience..
Love listening to Jazz music! Food was awesome very nice place!!
Best place in Indy for jazz and dinner. Try the not-so-Cajun chicken pasta!! ❤️
Great place to enjoy local jazz artists and delicious food. Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s a wonderful place to relax and be entertained. Come earlier than the show starts and you can then sip on a cocktail after dinner whilst watching a great show!
We were looking for a new breakfast place and came across this place. Good service, simple menu and good food. We will be back.
Nice and classy. Get there early for the best table. Saw Bashiri cover Mint Condition. The band was the best part of the show. I love a great band.
Great customer service. Love the music. Good food. Lots of friendly people.
Cozy, quant. Excellent artists. Food good.
Arrived at 6:30pm. No one came to take our order for over 30 min. The bread came out 30 minutes after order was placed. The bread was not warm and we were not given any bread plates. Our party was served and treated separately but we received a bill with 20% gratuity even after we complained to the manager. The waitress had a very nasty attitude. The manager was very apologetic but suggested we make a reservation in the future (which it won't be a future) was absurd because we did not have to wait for seating. Maybe this was an off day, but the service sucks for the customers eating on the patio.
The menu is not really exciting but there are good vegetarian and vegan options. Can't go wrong with the shrimp po' boys or steak. Now the music, oh the music!! Few things better than listening to good jazz while drinking french wine
A musical landmark in Indianapolis. Food is ok. Parking is an adventure.
Laid back fun atmosphere. The best talent in the city comes here!
The Jazz Kitchen is the first club I've ever been to, and I must say, the experience was delightful. I went with my parents, and was able to see my dad play the drums. The food was delicious (I had the mushroom and swiss burger) and the mood was happening. I appreciate the Jazz Kitchen and will most likely go again.
Love the music, the atmosphere, and food is decent
I don't have much to say, because it was so loud that I left 5 minutes in. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to go deaf.
Great atmosphere, service, FOOD and awesome live ENTERTAINMENT!
Awesome musicians in an intimate setting. Plus great food
Great Ambiance
An amazing indulgence with amazing food, drinks, and musicians!
My husband and I came here to see Take 6 and have dinner, and it was PHENOMENAL. Not only was the atmosphere wonderful, the service was amazing, and the food was some of the best we’ve ever had! Specifically the Not-So-Cajun Chicken. If I could, I would find a way to purchase stock in that dish and enjoy it for every meal. Oh my god. Seriously, what a sublime experience as a whole. My new favorite place—-can’t wait to return!
The menu is incredibly varied and features delicious options for all diet-types (it is particularly accommodating for those who are gluten-free). The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the live entertainment is top-notch. Wait staff is prompt and courteous, and are well versed in their wine selection.
We went on a week night so it was a little dead but the music was great and the food was good
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being pushy or overbearing. Definitely recommend a visit if you have any interest in jazz.
The Indy Jazz Fest Block Party @ the Jazz Kitchen was a lovely and intimate evening of great performances with very talented artists.
It was wonderful. I enjoyed the music and the food.
We came to the Jazz Kitchen for the first time for a special Valentine's show. After hearing so many rave reviews, it definitely didn't disappoint. The food was terrific and the band was amazing.
I've lived in Indy for over 5 years, and I can't believe it took me that long to find this venue! Monday nights have no cover charge, as it's an open jam night. The music is always fairly good. My pics and videos were from a Sade tribute night that was fully sold out. Food is very decent for the venue. Nothing special, but better than you'd expect. Expect a night out to be a little pricier because of the cover charge and food premium at the venue.
Great food, great music, great time!
Good music; good food; attentive wait staff.
Amazing venue,great food and music!
This is an awesome neighborhood dinner and jazz club! Staff is awesome! The food choices are awesome! The Cool City band featuring artist Troy Thompson / Thomas and artist Rebbeca was spectacular! I will return 2nd Tuesdays and 2nd Fridays monthly to shake my groove thang ...yeah yeah!
Amazing live jazz. Seeing Dave Weckl preform was well worth the price of the ticket. Otherwise... Meh food (I had the crab cakes, they were OK) and overpriced drinks make the 15 dollar minimum food/beverage order hard to swallow. I didn't spend any time at the bar, but you can still hear the music while throwing back a cocktail. My only real complaint is that the seating in the stage area is very uncomfortable. Cramped, overcrowded and with thinly padded metal chairs one would find at a cheap banquet hall. My body was contorted, stiff and sore after a couple of hours. So in short: Go for the live music, leave as soon as the set is over.
Called ahead yesterday to make reservations, just to eat. Was assured by staff that if we came early and were gone by showtime wouldn’t be an issue. No reservations available for just a meal. Arrived today, right at 5pm and was turned away, because the show was sold out. Disappointed. Was turned away nicely enough, but would have bought tickets had I been given that info up front.
Great live music and cuisine
First time visiting, definitely NOT my last!!
Had the pleasure of attending an APA performance by Emmett Cohen. Food and drinks were phenomenal, service was excellent (even during the show, when whispering was the rule) and the music was DIVINE. I think I grinned the whole time. We'll be back soon! (Thanks for the list of upcoming performers!)
Always banging. Intimate atmosphere with great food and drink options. The musicians are top notch
Had a great opportunity to attend a Brian Blade performance at this wonderfully laid back gem...
This place has the best fries I have ever had, hands down! They have drink specials and offer different styles of dancing. The bartenders are kind and the atmosphere is positive.
Truly Amazing! Latin Dance Night is the best. Live Latin Band. I love this place
Went on a DATE here .. it was amazing
We always have a great time at The Jazz Kitchen. Great local jazz and big bands. Food is excellently prepared with numerous unique offerings. Wait staff is attentive and efficient.
Was insulted by staff while outside and about to come in. Was told I was "taking advantage of their hospitality" by being in their outdoor area although a large sign was posted that declared that space "open." There are much better equivalent establishments.
Good food but they made us wait in the hot weather
The service is great, the atmosphere is wonderful, the Brie plate is delicious
One of my favorite places in the world!!! Superb food, "over the TOP" musical entertainment, great staff! If you love jazz, THIS is the place!! Thank you Steve Allee.
What can I say, AMAZING!!! The music was out of this world. My boyfriend and I went on a date here to see a female artist he knows(sorry I can't remember her name). They sit you with people you may not know, which turned out to be ok. The food was good. We had carrot cake for dessert. The only thing bad was the carrot cake being too cold. Overall experience was an A+.
What a fun place! I do with the ceilings were higher for acoustic value, but otherwise I loved the experience
Top of the line food. I believe anything you order off the menu will be unbelievable. I have played two shows here as a working musician. From my perspective, the atmosphere is great and the crew is extremely professional. Many excellent artists are booked here! I recommend experiencing Jazz Kitchen!
I love going to The Jazz Kitchen and listening to all of the talented singers and musicians. It was good to see Larry (drummer) and my aunt's brother who were both playing that night.
Brings in top notch talent for performances, have never left disappointed with the performance. The food is also really good as well as the deserts. Of course being on college parking is somewhat of a hassle, but you're sure to forget about it once you step through the door.
Loved Latin ballroom night!!
This place always has tons of things to experience with music performances and Latin dancing. I recommend checking out the space at least once. There typically is a cover for all the events.
Great place to watch live music. Cool atmosphere, excellent food.
This is a great place, good food, and a great atmosphere
Great setup and great acustic
Staff and customer service is exceptional. Oh, the food is great, too. Compliments to the Chef. You won't go wrong choosing this venue.
Great venue for dates; solid food, better music
Great salsa class. Friendly staff. Great food.
