The Angus steak w/mushroom sauce was way over priced and tepid, The coffee was lukewarm and the only sweetener available was a container of sugar which was crusted over. It required removing the lid and breaking up the crust so it would pour. I did so only after going to the next table and finding the same condition. I,also, had to do like wise with the salt shaker because the steak and sauce were very flat. I don't think I've ever had to salt a steak! The potatoes, gravy and rolls were all acceptable. That is more than I can says for the pecan pie. Like the sugar and salt it was crusted over from sitting out way to long! So, in closing, I have to rate your restaurant totally unacceptable. Ptomaine palace is how I would describe your restaurant.

It was nice inside. A traditional cafeteria. The food was good. I got the carved ham with broccoli and sweet yams, sugar free jello, and some rolls. The broccoli was not cooked all the way but everything else was good.

I CANNOT believe this place have such a good rating. This is why my husband and I, new to the area, decided to check it out one Sunday morning. I was craving for some pie or cake and took a custard cake and a salad. The cake tasted disgusting, I couldn't even finish it, and I am not really picky, especially not in desserts! The salad was fine, but again, it is pretty difficult to ruin a veggie salad... My husband didn't like his food either, and said our check was pretty pricey too for such a poor meal. Overall disappointing experience and ruined sweet tooth craving which I ended up satisfying at a donuts store down the road XD And another thing, there were only old people around us! Maybe that's them, who learnt to use the Internet and wrote all those positive reviews for this place...

I had only been once before and thought the food was terrible. It had been a long time so I decided to give it one more try and am so glad I did. I had the chopped steak, loaded mashed potatoes and lemon chess pie. It was all excellent! Nice employees too!

The MCL Cafeteria has a wide variety for all people of all backgrounds with all different pallets! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh. I created a veggie plate this time and indulge with a piece of chocolate cake. My husband went for the Almond Aberdeen. He loves it! It's always very tidy and clean.

Horrible Experience! In APRIL 2015 I signed a contract with debit card info attached to secure bar services for my wedding in June. 5 days before my big day Karol Kiley who was the person i was in contact with throughout the entire process, contacts me for payment and info on the bar services.. which was already taken care of back in April. When i explain to her that i didn't feel comfortable paying it again until i could check with my bank to ensure a payment wasn't prevously made she sasid that if i could provide my debit card info she could get with her accounting people to see if a payment was made with that card. I went ahead and sent the information she ask for and a few mintues later i get an email saying thatnks for your rencent payment. When I called Karol to ask why should would even consider doing that she continued to be extremly rude and unprofessional. She then threatened me with youy know whaty lets just cancel this all together.. 5 days before my wedding. I asked to speak with someone other than her she told me there was no one above her,. i asked to speak to the owener and she told me she was the owener. I laughed and stated i am sure the Owner of MCL is not sitting behind a desk pushing liquor she then admitted that she is not the owner. I woulkd hate for any other bride or groom to have to go through what i did. The day of the event was a mess. The bartender had 2 cases of bud light which we told would be the main drink for 150 people. He slammed the door on my guest without any explanination and was heard argueing with his management/co workers on the phone about how could they send him to a job with no beer.. The ONLY reason why we use this company was because we had to go off a catering list from the venue.. I hope this helps get the word out about this horrible service and the people they have working for their company.

I was very disappointed work the food we had some kind of fish with an almondine crust and it was very dry I couldn't eat mine, I had broccoli and cheese casserole and it tasted like leftovers..I will say the sweet iced tea was refreshing and the chocolate cake was delicious.. We did have a great waitress.. We have eaten here a few times and the food was great but this time not so much.. So needless to say it will take a lot to get us to go again

Stopped in for a quick dinner. It is set up like a cafeteria line where you pick your meal from items already cooked and displayed. They have daily specials and standard items they prep daily. Prices arw reasonable. The place was clean and the employees were friendly and efficient. I had the fried chicken and green beans. The chicken was pretty good; the green beans were so-so.

The entrees were delicious, the bread- not so much. We both got the beef Manhattan; which, was amazing. Tender roast beef and very savory gravy on the mashed potatoes and bread. The side bread was not good at all. The cornbread I had tasted like soap with no other real flavor. The cloverleaf roll was tasteless and cold. The servers were nice and the establishment was very clean. We'll go back; but, we'll skip the side breads.

Ok for cafeteria food. Line usually moves pretty quickly but table service for drink refills is hit or miss. I prefer the one in the Speedway Shopping Center as you get much better service and there are rarely long lines. The fried chicken here is always great and they usually have a nice selection of vegetables as sides. Really good chocolate cake too.

The waitress Amber was terrible. My pregnant girlfriends chicken was pink. Luckily we discovered this before she ingested the raw meat. Although the experience was not the best, Randy made it better. Avon, Indiana location (121 Avon Village Parkway) is a shining star. Two managers, a lady & agentleman (4pm 4/26/2019) treated me as if I'd walked into their home during their family-style dinner. I'm slightly disabled,tight on budget, and MCL is a treat for my mom and I. They made it more so. Second amazing service experience with absolutely delicious to-go meal in 2 weeks. Different staff, consistent service and quality. I see a pattern buliding. I'm coming back and telling everyone. Everyone. Thank you.

Been there a few times...won't compare a cafeteria to a 'cook to order' restaurant...but my in-laws love it, I find food here to be just fine, nothing fancy, but good old fashioned cooking...yes, some veggies taste as if straight out of a can, and pricing is fair compared to quality to fast pricing, but maybe high compared to a nicer cook to order restaurant. All around, to walk in, point/pick good foods in this fast paced lifestyle today, for a decent price, I say thumbs up!

This place is amazing. On certain days is certain food menus. Like thursdays is liver and onion days, however they also have other dishs such as chicken, meatloaf, roast, chili mac, etc. You can start with a salad or fruit, then main coarse followed by side dishes such a mashed potatoes, red potatoe, spinach, etc. Follow it with a roll of some kind and a choice of a desert with so many to chose from. Strawberry short cake, to chocolate craving, sweet treat or not. Follow all down with your choice of drink. And if your unable to stay they can accommodate that as well. If your unable to carry your tray to your choice of table then they have staff that can help with that as well. Kids are welcomed, so are vegitarians. There is something for all ages,types of people for home cooked goodness. And staff members are amazing.

One star is to much for this place. Over priced for the small portions you receive. But I can look past that. What Truly qualifies for less than one star is the young shift lead that act like I'm bothering her just being there at 5pm having Dinner. Because she has to actually put down her phone and do something. Also the fact that when I asked for some sweet tea she just rolled her eyes and said she would have to make some and it would be ready soon. Guess soon is longer than 30 mins. Settled for just having water with my meal. Not the first time this location has been problematic. But will be the Last time I visit them here.
