MCL is a place you come to if you're looking for comfort food that is descent quality for great prices. It is cafeteria style and there are a ton of options to choose from. They offer many entrees, salads, desserts and drinks. Service is always friendly. I would definitely recommend this location.

Food is average at best. Pricing structure is confusing and can end up being very expensive for the quality. Only half of our party of 6 got refills, never saw our server after that. There are much better options in the area.

Food and service was good yet out of mac and cheese for a few min unless wanting to wait (it must be good but understandable being out for the time being) so I had the roast beef slices, 2 sides of mashed potatoes and gravy, soda and 2 strawberry shortcakes (highly recommend the strawberry shortcake) bill was $22 which seems on the expensive side

After I moved away from the area, MCL is one of the places I missed the most. I didn't think that would be the case, but it was. The pecan pie is very special Also the roast beef cooked to a perfect medium.YUM! The green beans are also really good! Plus, friendly folks that have worked there for years! They wont tell you this but TIP your server!!!

I'm only giving 2 stars because the employees were friendly. The food was gross, flavorless, cold and expensive. Actually, it might have been the worst food I've ever eaten . Between my meal (chicken livers, mashed potatoes w/gravy and green beans) I ate maybe 1/4th of it and that was all I could choke down. Cold liver is nasty. My daughter got the kids spaghetti w tomato sauce, corn on the cob, fake orange mac and cheese, roll and strawberry short cake. She ate the roll, cake and corn. Complete waste of money. The waitress offered to get us something else but I would rather go home and eat cereal. The ice water was ok!

I used to at MCL a lot as a kid..my family would eat there on Sundays. I moved away but was back in town for a few days. What a treat to eat at MCL again. The cafeteria model of restaurants is LOST ART. They have THE BEST roast beef and pecan pie. I was thrilled to see the value plate which consisted of a choice between a few meats, 2 sides, and A bread. The PRICE was definitely right. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

I have dined at this location on Mondays for over 25 years with a friend. Food is excellent most times. Occasionally the serving size is small or the entree selection isn’t very good. Best cinnamon rolls and bread pudding! Reubens are excellent,

Well it's not my go to place but my Grandparents love it so I go with them. Definitely a cafeteria feeling place waiting in the line. This particular location the dining room is pretty nice though.

I got the pecan pie for my dessert. It was 99 cent Thursday for the pie of the week. I got chicken wrapped over stuffing. Mashed potatoes with chicken gravy. And some green bean casserole. A dinner roll that was very soft. And a Pepsi. Oh! And some deviled eggs. The staff was quick and very helpful. The bathrooms we're clean. However I only had a credit card and no cash for a tip for our waiter. We felt very unsettling when we went to the cashier and asked for change for a twenty and they told us that they couldn't give us change unless we bought a gift card. So we left the waiter a tip with some change of coins that we had between the two of us. I would recommend this location cause they are in a good neighborhood. Also because the price is not too bad.

Always the best fried chicken anywhere. Great salad with mixed greens sliced strawberries walnuts and big slivers of parmesan cheese. Poppyseed dressing. Yum! Veggies not so great. Mashed potatoes are awful. Gravy too. Broccoli overcooked but by far a better choice. Carrots not too bad. Dinner rolls are the best. Coconut cream pie or custard finish me off for the day.

It is an institution for a lot of people. My only issue is the lack of hair nets. Gross! I know older people love it, but I need the staff to listen and pay more attention to the patrons. I know sometimes our elders seem indecisive, but be patient. Show them the respect you would give your own grandparents.

Ehhh, I went for the bbn lover and onion special. Liver is hard to cook, cooks so fast and over cooked liver is rubbery. I'm not sure why I expected it not to be overcooked being it was sitting on the line. Macaroni wasn't amazing either. First time going I dont think we will.go back overall a disappointing experience.

Our party had booked the banquet room and we were told that another party was there and wasn't going to leave. Even though that it was a communication error(not on our part) we were seated in a nice section and the server took great care of us. The food was good and the cheesecake was AMAZING! It was the best part of my meal!! Nice and thick and not too sweet.

Five stars all the mcl is one of my most trusted and favorite places to eat and amongst all of the locations I frequent castleton square is definitely my favourite one . Its very relaxed inside even at busy times . The food is always done wonderful with many professional skilled cooks to help you, many familiar faces that have been there for years not typical of today's times but this place is great. Beautiful decor exquisite restrooms large dining room quiet elegant atmosphere and fantastic food so much variety with menus and specials changing day to day . This place is a must check out be sure to tip your server

Services was good but The food was tasteless. Me and my family members have been going to MCLs for about all of my life. (63yrs) but I have never tasted food at an MCL like I did today. It had no seasoning or flavor I wouldn't have believed I was at MCL if I hadn't known I was, by the taste of the food today.I don't know what went wrong with this restraunt But I won't be eating at that one anymore. Their mashed potatoes were watery and no seasoning at all on the green beans no onion, no bacon bits, or flavoring at all just water.the slaw was the same but was not cut up as small so it was harder to chew. Rolls were good but very much smaller. Price a lot higher food awful something or someone should check on this restraunt.

Nice to know that they pulled the benefits from the employees to save a dollar, nice to know that they want their employees to work off of the clock. If that is not believable check the Springfield Illinois store. At least 5 employees goin in and working off the clock just to make their numbers look good and to make sure the job is done cause management wont do it themselves. So let's short staff people and have the ones who stay pick up the slack. Like I stated earlier if you think that employees working off the clock is not true ,, then please by all means just go and check the store out and the cameras.

Always good food and serve here!! Home cooking quality. Today my husband asked for a bit more roast beef on his Manhattan. The server reluctantly served as the manage scolded my husband. Embarrassing! He always gets manhattans and has never had to request for an adequate amount of beef. Hope this was just a fluke at holiday time and not considered the new norm!

Went there for comfort food. Came out very disappointed. I didnt realize they charged per item. And I had told them it was our first time there and asked them to explain how it worked. Cornbread was super dry. All of the food we had was mediocre at best

I have been a MCL customer for multiple decades and today's meal was the best to date. The Yankee pot roast and mashed potatoes was perfectly cooked. The beef was well seasoned, moist and tender. The vegetables were still just a little firm so not mushy and the gravy was excellent. Of course, national pie day deserves to be celebrated with a piece of pie and the lite granny Smith apple pie was up to the challenge.

Great food, very clean, excellent customer service staff. We had the private room from 11:00 to 3:00. We were kept full of tea and water. All of our attendees were complimentary of the facilities. We will be back next year.

I hàd the fried chicken white and green beans. The green beans had no flavor and thé chicken was overcooked resulting as dry. Something going on with MCL fried chicken. I stopped going to MCL on W86th because the chicken was also over cooked and now thé same at Castléton. I'm finished with MCL

The food was not good it was just okay. They're overpriced. For the food you get. I paid 695 from one piece of fish. Another $3 for my side of vegetable. And another $3 for a side of mashed that were not even real potatoes they were instant. We don't live in this area and one of the natives of Indianapolis told us it was good food. I was very disappointed

I haven't been to an MCL in several years because they left the city where I live years ago. So we went here for nostalgia reasons. This restaurant had very friendly staff, and looked high end with nice couches in the lobby. Of course the fried chicken I came to love years ago was a nice trip down memory lane and as good as ever. I'm from Fort Wayne and this was in Fishers IN.

Well-prepared comfort food. A little on the expensive side for a full meal with drink, but it's not exorbitant for the homemade prep and good selections. The location runs well, and employees always are friendly and warm. Sometimes the food runs slightly conservative on seasoning, but that seems to be common for the clientele they mainly serve.

Food was delicious as always. Everyone courteous. However, we usually don't get the entree dinner. When I asked if a roll came with it no one knew. So, we did without. Later I noticed our friends had a carryout box and asked what kind of pie they got. She said it was their rolls from their meal. We both used BOGO half price coupons and got the dinner. Didn't set too well with me but was too late so didn't say anything.
