The food here was great. I had a loaded Spud, which was a huge smoked and baked potato topped with beans, brisket and a bunch of other toppings. We have 4 kiddos, and the staff was very friendly and made it easy to eat here. Service was excellent and our food was there quickly. We visit Indy a lot and will be back.

The BBQ here is really delicious, but the restaurant honestly feels like you are sitting in a fridge to the point I never go because I'm always physically uncomfortable. I live out of town and prefer to eat there and should be able to. The sides are okay, but the BBQ is really the star. Too bad they don't seem to care about customer comfort.

Not sure how it’s top 5 in Indianapolis but this was the worst barbecue I’ve ever had in this city. The staff was excellent and very nice my low rating is not because of them. I opened the box and the ribs looked and taste like they were boiled and colored water (their sauce) was thrown on the meat. To think I almost ordered a pound of the tips glad I only got half a pound!

In Indianapolis for business and decided to stop in for some BBQ. Before going I heard mixed reviews. Their staff is VERY friendly, the waitress chatted with me about beer since I got their Fat Head Bumble Berry. The cook or manager made sure I liked my meal, but I have to say I said it was ok because they were so nice. In reality, their ribs were tender, but the sauce was mediocre. The mac and cheese tasted like fake cheese, the beans like it came out of a can and the corn muffin tasted more like a cupcake. I would say it lacks the authenticity I was looking for in flavour.

Love this place. The folks there are very friendly and consistent. The food is always spot-on and the sauces, especially the hot sauce, is really exceptional. I always feel right at home when I come in and the everyone is very courteous. Sometimes I have a wait to order, but it goes quickly and doesn't seem to mind since the food and deals are well worth it. I would certainly recommend this place, as I do often, to others and definitely tell folks to try to the pull pork.

I enjoyed Dick's Bodacious Bar-B-Q. Came while in town recruiting on the recommendation of my boss. I enjoyed the sides. The brisket had a nice flavor, but I wish there was a bark on it. Ribs were ok, and the smoked sausage was good. Really enjoyed the mild sauce.

Wonderful sauce and meat. Their chicken legs are succulent and delicious as are their rib tips. Their signature hot sauce is just right - not too hot. Don't take the white bread, the corn bread is better- for dessert. Baked beans and potato salad are also good. Only hangup is they are so crowded on weekends, they are out of my favorite items. Call ahead for your takeout.

I have never given a bad review on Google, but following a visit to the establishment it was clear it's a rip-off of Dickey's BBQ, the chain that actually has quality control over their food. The sauces at the joint were disgusting and that's coming from a barbecue fanatic. The meat may be smoked, but it's overly smoked, maybe they roll everything around in wood ash before they serve it, I don't know. The sides tasted flat That is, there was hardly any taste to them. Maybe it was just an off day when I visited. However that first impression will be the last impression.

Inconsistent but usually decent BBQ. I like the giant potatoes with BBQ and beans and sauce. The sauces and sides are usually pretty good, depending on the day. The staff are as friendly as possible considering the giant crush of people at lunch time. The location is clean and usable but crowded and old-fashioned. Probably the best BBQ downtown, but that's not saying much.

Found this gem in the heart of downtown Indy! Food was delicious, but the service was exceptional! Carly was our server and she is what took our experience with Dick's Bodacious BBQ over the top! She was very busy with a room full over tables, but she gave every table the attention they deserved! Simply AMAZING! Our family will definitely be coming back!!

Stopped here for lunch one day and was not disappointed. Had a craving for a barbecue baked potato and was pleasantly surprised by great quality food. Server and staff were very, very friendly and server did not let me leave without my correct order. He noticed that the line forgot my corn muffin and caught me before I left without it. I'm glad he did because I love those muffins so much. Pork was well seasoned and sauce was soooo good. Potato was a little overcooked but I just chose not to eat the skin this time. Very huge portion.

I used to absolutely love this place. My spouse has been an employee here for 5 years. I have said nothing BUT great things about this place. Today I visited AND I brought a friend with me to try how good the food is. I bragged on the staff and the great quality of the food. I placed my order with the cashier and upon completion of my order she asked me if I wanted a drink. My answer was "No I already have something to drink". The cashier STILL gave me a cup and I thanked her. While waiting on my food to be prepared, I put some ice and Dr. Pepper in the cup she provided. I did not try to hide it or be sneaky or ANYTHING like that. The owner of the restaurant saw the cup when he served me my food and said "If you want something to drink, just ask for it". Even after I apologized he continued to say "You already get a family discount..." THAT WAS SO EMBARRASSING AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! He didn't even TRY to hear my explanation. He just overtalked me to get his point across. I may be the spouse of an employee, but I AM STILL A CUSTOMER!! I PAID FOR MY FOOD AND SO DID MY FRIEND!! He said ALL of this in front of the friend that I bragged about this place to! I have NEVER felt so disrespected!! My friend even said he didn't feel welcomed in there after he witnessed this... THE CASHIER GAVE ME THE CUP ON HER OWN FREE WILL!!! The employees are NOT as nice and welcoming as they used to be, and I feel like it doesn't matter if my spouse works there, I should STILL be treated with respect!!! The cashiers and waitresses are Amazing, but the higher management has absolutely NO REGARD for their REGULAR customers! A year ago I gave this place 5 stars, but after the way I was treated today I dropped 4 of those stars!!!

Traditional Texas Bar-B-Q in Central Indiana? You better believe it! This is by far my favorite Bar-B-Q place outside of the state of Texas. From sliced brisket to pulled pork, not to mention delicious sides, this place never fails to satisfy. An awesome choice for lunch, or to cater any size special event, you just can't beat Dick's.

First time here with my fiancee and our roommate. I think her name was gigi but she was our waitress and she was literally the icing to the cake. Food was beyond amazing. But gigi needs a raise and a promotion because she knows customer service like it runs through her blood and soul. She gave us all hugs and that's just what literally made the experience better. :) will definitely be coming back for her and the food!!!

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Thank you guys! We ordered their three rib lunch special. The ribs were very salty, must be the rub that they put on. I had to scrape the seasoning rub off and pour a lot of bbq sauce to conceal the saltiness. I'm glad I got the potato salad on the side to help with the saltiness.

I’m not sure what the hype about this place is. Customer service was fantastic, the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasing but the food was so disappointing that I’ve pledged to never go again. When ordering a $5 hotdog from a “bbq” joint, you should not receive a stale bun and a boiled dog. Brisket was very dry and lacked the smokiness you’d expect from smoked brisket. Terrible. Never again.

It has a little bit out of place in a heart-of-downtown location, a ground floor of a tall building. menu was a bit overwhelming, too many options, are there really that many options with BBQ (simplify it for all of us). I had St. Louis ribs with cole slaw and greens, and all of that was very good. On of my four halves of Texas toast was delicious, the other three were soggy with butter. They serve the ribs without BBQ sauce so you add either mild or spicy yourself, both were very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful, beer selections were so so but I found a can of IPA that I liked. I would go back!

The lunch specials are more than enough food for the price. And I personally felt everything tasted exactly how it should staff was friendly. Atmosphere was nice. Restaurant was clean. Didn't have to wait at all for my food. Everything was just great. Infact the only reason I didn't throw five stars was the cashier could have been a tad more pleasant.

Stopped in this restaurant for the 1st time earlier this week. Ordered the beef brisket chili for carryout. Took it back to the office (across the street) to find it was room temperature cold. Called to inform them. The response? "Oh....we used the outlet for something else and forgot to plug it back in! You can bring it back if you want!" Folks....downtown restaurants fight a never-ending battle to survive. Reward the ones that deserve your business and let Adam Smith get rid of the rest. Dick's is the rest.

I've only been here for lunch a few times, but I've enjoyed it. I had the large smoked chicken lunch deal, and it was quite a bit of food. However, the "large" portion was pretty average, so I'm not sure how small the "small" portion would be. It's a little pricier lunch option, but you do get more food and a drink. Flavor was good, and the spicy BBQ sauce is indeed spicy. They also have daily specials. I'd recommend this place for takeout or dine-in.

Go on a Tuesday!!! I mean every day the food is amazing but on tuesdays they have 2 dollars sandwiches and they are omg delicious and for the price you really can’t beat it at all. Also try their queso, I honestly in all my life (and also being Hispanic) I’ve never had a better queso, I will seriously sit there and just eat it by itself that’s how good it is. The customer service is great as well and even though it’s a small joint, if you go during chill hours the atmosphere is nice as well!

So I came in from Tennessee on a Monday and was looking for some comfort food. The BBQ is average at best and my service on this particular occasion was horrible. I expect a BBQ joint to have my drinks and food out quickly, but obviously that's not the case, it's not like they haven't already cooked the meat! Really, if this is the best Indy has to offer, there is much room for provement.
