So I went to the restaurant on veteran's day for the special. Apparently so did some other veterans and they sold out of a few items. The young man was so apologic for beening sold out. I told him no worries just give me another side. He gave the the sweet potato casserole I believe and it was delicious. Thank you for serving the public with smile even though we always smile back. Great experience....

Disappointing overall. Had ribs and brisket, and both lacked any flavor. No smokiness, no spices, just plain overall. If you're looking for super tender, won't be getting that either. Had the cornbread and the Mac and cheese, which again weren't very flavorful. Their draw seems to be a large array of sauce that range from coyingly sweet to heat with no flavor. I will say that they were fast and the service was good. I'd recommend finding somewhere else for BBQ though if you're looking for taste.

They were out of an item for delivery and didn’t bother to tell me until I arrived at the store. The person I ordered for was extremely upset with me for not letting them know, and the store was upset that the order was cancelled. When I advised the store that they could have prevented the issue with better communication, I didn’t even get an apology. The woman working to ToGo counter just gave me a dirty look. Just Wow.

I live near this location so it is very convenient. However, they CONSTANTLY sell out of ribs. 4 of the 6 times I have attempted to go there or order for pick up, they are out of their primary menu item. It would seem that they would know to stock up based on their sales, but this is not the case for this location. I'm done with them.

I have been coming to this location since it was first opened a few years ago. This specific experience was not good, and the last few have not been good. The chicken was slimy and the sides were not warm. I love City BBQ but something has shifted at this location and not for the better

This is my first time in Indiana and I was told by business associates that City Barbeque was the place to try while I'm here for work . I walked in not knowing what to expect and I was instantly greeted by Jeff. This gentleman here didn't hold back answered all my questions made outstanding suggestions! The food here is phenomenal! Also got lucky enough to find out it's rib night. Overall amazing place and when I'm back definitely making ankthan stop! Hope a City Barbeque opens up in Pennsylvania!

BBQ is fine. It taste as Corporate as BBQ can taste. It's passable but there is no passion or heart put into any of these dishes. And for the price they ask, the quality is just not there. For the same price and long wait time, you could go to Big Hoffa's and get a BBQ meal that is great, for cheaper, and it taste so much better.

Everyone here is always so friendly! We typically order takeout, and it is usually ready in under 10 minutes which is unheard of. If for some reason it isn't quite ready when you get there, the staff works pretty hard at keeping you happy by offering you a free beverage while you wait. The best thing on their menu is the side of corn pudding. We will actually order this sometimes by itself and pick it up to go with dinner we have cooked at home. If it is the Fall season, the Brunswick stew is available and it is quite possibly the best tasting thing I have ever had in my life. I'm counting down the days until it is available again! The atmosphere is very laid back, and of course it smells heavenly in there just like any BBQ joint. Highly recommend City Barbeque for an alternative to fast food takeout in the Carmel area.

Not bad BBQ for middle of Indiana. Despite the quick serve style approach, it was a little slow. I think they do a hefty carryout business, and that maybe slowed things down a bit for our in-restaurant order. I like that they offer up ribs on a per-rib basis, which is nice if you want just a little bit. BBQ sauces themselves were a little odd...stick to the basics IMO!

I am currently hospitalized, and specifically ordered food from here (through a delivery service) to get hush puppies. Unfortunately, they they were out, but I couldn't cancel my order. They offered substitutes, but I only placed an order because I wanted the hush puppies. So I paid for food I didn't even want, because they were out of a staple item that I did want. Extremely disappointed at paying for food I didn't want.

The barbecue here is one of my favorites ,City barbecue is one of the few barbecue franchise 's I will go to if I am craving barbecue. They have a great gumbo bowl for $5 , very savory ,not too thick or runny but just right . I like how this place has a variety of sauces to choose from, I thought I had a favorite but I put pepper in all of them and like them all the same. I found that i order their smoked turkey more than I do than the other meats they offer . The smoked turkey is tender ,juicy and if it was served on a bone it would fall right off. The service is great , employees are patient and friendly with good suggestions if you aren't sure what to order. Also try the desserts they are worth the cheat for the sweetness and home-made taste! .

We went on a Tuesday night for the 40% off ribs. They were out of the RIBS by 7:45pm. HOWEVER, and this is important, they went above and beyond to make sure the brisket was lean and fresh from the smoker, the fries were beyond generous and gave us an up grade on our drinks.

Pork was okay needed a little bit more lean. Sauces were sweet sauces which is good for most but I prefer some that a vinegar based. Service was really good and went overboard for the kids. Also a few more choices of sides would be good. Dessert is good though and very tasty.

Tried the pork sandwich this time and loved it even more than the brisket! With a side of hushpuppies, you really get a lot. My coworker got the brisket chili and superfood slaw and sId they were a great surprise. The atmosphere is alway low key and friendly there whether your picking up or putting down. I've never had room for the deserts but they really seem to be a big hit with my coworkers. I would definitely recommend checking the place out if you are in the mood for some serious comfort food!

I have to give them credit: it's actually really good barbecue. Stereotypically chain barbeque isn't great, but City Barbecue does it right! I'm kind of a snob when it comes to brisket, but they do it right. The sides are great, nothing to complain about! Also, their catering is excellent!

The food was delicious as usual but came out very slowly. It looked as though they were a little understaffed. Once we got to the dining room the cleanliness of the tables was less than optimal and my wife and I had to keep swatting away annoying flies from landing in our food. We enjoy coming to this location but this visit was just a little off the mark.

We ate lunch here on a Saturday and it was great. I got the three meat sampler. Brisket pulled pork and turkey. Try the bourbon BBQ sauce. It was my favorite. The collard greens and hush puppies were fantastic.

BBQ done well, ribs are always cooked really well. I personally not the biggest fan of baked beans they offer, to much bbq and runny. I go to City BBQ mainly for the meats, not so much the sides. They do have good side salads, sweet potato casserole (seasonal), and few other sides are not bad. Garlic Toast is pretty good, especially if get extra butter. Also enjoy the Sweet Tea they offer, refreshing and cold !!! Brisket, ribs, pulled pork and Turkey are all very enjoyable.

Middle of the road BBQ. Not awful, nowhere near great. Stay away from the mac and cheese, it has about as much flavor as a saltine cracker minus the salt. Seriously, I've had better vegan Mac and cheese... Price per meal is reasonable although flavor per dollar isn't as good as North End Barbecue (in Nora) only ten minutes away. If you've got an extra $2 to spend on the meal, go to North End and the food will be twice as good.

I know that I shouldn't have had any expectations of vegetarian protein options when I entered the place, but it was getting late on the 4th of July, and most places weren't open. So, I browsed the menu for sides. Green beans have meat in them. Cool. Mac and cheese has meat in it. Great. I ended up landing on the Southwest slaw (which was really good), and a side of fries (standard/sub-par floppy fries). We made our way to the table, which was quite the trek. The floors are covered in a thin layer of grease. Seems like they might use the same mop in the kitchen and dining room and the poor thing is ready for retirement. Everyone in the dining room was "skating" around, like it was some sort of inside joke among patrons. Not bad, I guess.

Can't go wrong with City BBQ. I would recommend getting the brush fire sauce on whatever BBQ you happen to order. It has a great spice to it while still being incredibly flavorful. They are always quick to get the food out which makes it a convenient spot for a quick lunch before heading back to work. I've had the pulled pork multiple times and have always been extremely happy. Other people in my part have had the ribs and they've been devoured each time.

This is a small chain. If you're a regular patron, you'll find everything to be familiar. Expect counter service. Meats are smoked quite well, sauces are nice, and sides are of good quality. If you haven't been to City Barbeque in awhile... the quality of the meats is slowly declining - for example, a few months ago, they added the option of leaving the burnt pieces on the brisket (which they serve by weight), followed by not asking, followed by making all of it being sold "full thickness". Now, it's containing LARGE, thick streaks of fat, and slices are cut thicker to keep the slices whole. Still a tasty meal, but I'd watch for further declines in quality.
