If you enjoy good steak, steer clear of this location. I have been to a few other El Famous, and have never had such bad steak. Large, hard pieces of gristle in every other bite. For $9 what can you expect, but I was still surprised by the poor quality of the meat.

Honestly it's a shame me and my buddies are only here for the summer. We're cruising looking for some food and really crunching for a burrito. In walks El Famous Burrito. Although it may not portray a fine dining experience at first, but the second you walk in and the have an el famous burrito you'll completely change your mind. All I can say is wow and that I hope it's a chain because im not in that area anymore.

Terrible. Made my food wrong numerous times when I finally asked for a refund they said no because they don’t charge extra for the ingredient that I ALWAYS ask for that they almost ALWAYS forget. Will never go there again just due to the lack of customer care Not to mention I’ve personally watch sweat drip off of one of the cooks into the chicken meat below him

Food is average at best. Burritos are never hot since the steak is just sitting in a pile on the grill. Kind of annoying. The cold cheese gets added and forget about it. No complimentary chips on dine in either. There are better burritos out there so I will keep on exploring.

This thing is bursting full of steak, beans, sour cream, avocado, and veggies. It barely fits in the basket. The red and green sauces are equally tasty, the green being a bit less spicy. I've been coming here for years, it's always a treat.

Food comes out at a regular pace. Prices are right and chicken or pork meals are excellent. Steak is dry and tastes like it was frozen prior most definitely not fresh. If you are looking for the best steak burrito this is not the place but most of the other food is decently enjoyable.

Worst place ever. Don't order food here or if you are Uber driver don't do any pickup at this restaurant. You will spend all day here and wouldn't still get the meal. Nobody will pay attention to you or listen to what you are looking for!!

We stopped by here after the Geneva Concours D'lagance show today and the food was not only great but plentiful! I had the taco special and it came with 3 and because of how much meat was in there it could've been 2 tacos and well worth it! Don't sleep on El Famous Burrito!!

Just came to pick up an order. Was all messed up as guy at register initially said only 1 card was given over phone. A guy named Kevin stepped in and handled a not so good situation. Awesome food, great location. Unexpected but when you name the place El Famous Burrito you better have some good food. I have the steak Tortas and it was amazing. Soft bread, juicy succinct marinated steak, crisp fresh veggies and oh so creamy sour cream. If you are in the area make sure to swing by and grab a bite or two. Thank me later. #crunch

I hadn't been to an El Famous Burrito in years and this one was just as good as I remembered. The steak nachos were always my favorite and these did not disappoint. The steak was very tender and flavorful. The chips were absolutely loaded with cheese and toppings but stayed very crisp under the weight of everything. My daughter enjoyed her steak burrito and my son loved his kids meal. The dining area was clean and there were plenty of fresh sauces available. I'll try not to wait so long between visits next time!

I called 3x to make my order before going over for my lunch and no one picked up so had to had lunch there food was great would get a 5star. but the lady cashier with glasses and color lips stick made me feel like I don’t know what I was ordering if I spoke to her in clear Spanish at first. so then I spoke to her in English and still gave an attitude after she repeated my order to me. All I can say is wow. Late on a Saturday night and I was starved. The buddies were in town and we had to grab a quick bite before going back to the hotel. Enter: El Famous Burrito. They had those dank helados, and the cashier helped me choose a burrito that spanks. The speed of service was outstanding. The Steak Burrito was too hot to handle, but I put myself through the pain because it wasn't worth waiting any longer for that gold in the form of food. Both the red and green chiles perfectly complimented the flavor. There is literally nothing more I could ask from this place other than more.

Very good regional Mexican chain with enormous portions. Only rated 4 stars because Los Burritos Tapitios a couple miles west in Glen Ellyn is even more amazing. My kids prefer El Famous because in addition to excellent genuine Mexican fare they have very good burgers and fries as compared with LBT that serves strictly the highest quality Mexican fare with amazing chips and fresh homemade salsa.

The steak in the steak tacos was excellent. Very savory. Tender on the inside and crusted on the outside. Tacos are stuffed full. Red sauce is spicy and very tasty. I don't typically use green sauce but theirs had good flavor as well. Price is reasonable. Service very friendly and quick. Restaurant is very clean. If they had free chips and salsa for dine-in customers like other taco joints in the area, they would be a strong competitor for best value and dining experience for Mexican food in the area.

eL-FB is a decent chain with near-authentic Mexican food. I will give there Lingua Burritos and Tacos a 4/5 stars and their Carne Asada Fries are epic. This is a definite competitor to the chipotle chain by measure of food and reasonable price; more "bag for your buck". This particular location gets 3/5 stars due to their moderate dinning area cleanness and monotoned customer service experience.

This is my new favorite quick Mexican. I had the beef taco combo with rice and beans. Beans had some whole beans in it, not all just smooth, which was great. Rice was not dry. And the ground beef had tons of flavor without being spicy! Food was prepared quickly and staff was nice. Coming back for sure!

Always burnt meat. I'm the only one there they take half or fully cooked meat out of a container above the grill. What's the rush I'm the only one in there. Burnt the last five times I went there. I will never return lazy cooks can't even make fresh food. And remove the tip container from the counter your just doing your job if I'm carrying it out. Stay clear of this joint.

Placed an online order at 8:15 PM for pick up at 8:30 PM. Get an email confirmation and a text confirmation. Get there and they seem to be closed for a party even though they are supposed to be open until 9:00. Guess what, they claim they never got the order. Probably because they already had the grills cleaned and their system shut down. If you are closing early, why allow orders to be placed on your website? Was pretty much told we were out of luck, even though the food was already paid for. Was told to leave and come back on Tuesday by Kevin who claimed to be the owner. If he was the owner, why not just give me my money back instead of making me come back Tuesday? I asked for something in writing about not getting my food and he just could not be bothered, he had a party to get back to. I doubt I will see my money again!

This particular el famous burrito is notorious for forgetting things on your meal. Every time I order from here I ask for specific items in a cup once I get there because I already know they forget to add them to the tacos, even though it's on my receipt. This time, they even forgot to give me the items on the side, after ASKING THE CHEF to his face, to give me the cup of toppings they forgot to add to my tacos (a simple order of onions). But I already expected the tacos to be missing onions, like every time I order.

The special for $8.50 included a huge burrito of your choice of meat, side of rice and beans, along with a small soda. It was delicious and very filling. They put so much meat into it, its incredible. I was very happy with this place. I really recommend that you come here.

This place was only average at best. My husband and I ordered burritos. I had the chicken and he had the steak combo with pork. We're from the Southside of Chicago, home of the "football" burrito. Needless to say, size is everything. These were small, like very small. And short on meat filling. There was more beans, 2 to 1, to meat. Big price tag, left hungry.

They have Taco Tuesday every Tuesday and its so much less expensive than the full price. However, you can still get whatever you want. They have a very clean restaurant area, bathrooms are nice (wheelchair accessible). And the wait is never long after you order your food. And its a great place for gathering teens here.

The food is good but I feel like I need to learn the Spanish language to get the correct order. I wanted one burrito and one shrimp fajita (taco-sized - should cost $3.25) - they charged me for a shrimp burrito plate which I absolutely did not want. That's the second time this has happened to me. I'm also concerned that the gloves they wear while preparing food contain latex and I am highly allergic but I didn't know how to ask in Spanish. I let my son and husband eat my food.

They are under new management as of this year and they have made upgrades to the restaurant. The ambiance is still basically the same however the counter where you make the orders has been given an upgrade, they have used wooden planks to add paneling to it, it looks nice. The layout is basically the same with some newer furniture. The menu is basically the same with some minor changes. The food is good, I like the Nachos with each nacho chip coming topped individually with the beans, cheese, and sour cream. There are other options that make it a staple of what you would expect in a casual dining Mexican restaurant.

Well, they also mess around w/ quantity of order, too! I specifically asked for 2 steak tacos today. What does the lady at the counter do? Puts in an order for 3. Also, I asked for a can of soda, and it was expired by 3 months! Thanks, El Famous, but there's a million taquerias in Lombard, and you should realize that! If you want to keep up w/ your competish, you'd step up your game, and cut the b.s.! You corrupt sons of... I won't be coming here again anytime soon. Even though my steak tacos were deece.
