Chef by Request catered our wedding. They did a great job and Amanda in particular was super helpful. They even setup our cupcakes that we ordered from another vendor. They arrived and basically ran the show, I didn’t have to micromanage at all, which was exactly what I wanted.

Chef by Request was wonderful with which to work. Our daughter used them to cater her Danada House wedding and the food was delicious. All the guests raved about the meal and many proclaimed it to be the best wedding food they've ever had. Their service was impeccable - polite, efficient and so helpful! Their chefs were wonderfully creative and Katie, the catering manager, was an absolute joy. Also, they worked with her budget, which is hard to find in a catering company. I would highly recommend them to anyone who asks!

Chef by Request courts clients very well. HOWEVER, they turn our poor product and service, and blatantly pulled a ‘bait and switch’ on us. We had a wonderful tasting in their office and loved the food. We raved about it to family and friends for months up to our wedding. At our wedding, a fatty beef was served (my guests said they would chew and had to spit out fat pieces into a napkin), and bone-in light and dark meat chicken was served, when we had tasted a chicken breast earlier. When I delivered this feedback, they requested pictures of the food from the wedding or tasting. Who would think of doing that? Sorry, I was busy being a bride and not an event coordinator. . After the wedding, such as brunch on Sunday and Father’s Day which was shortly after the wedding, family members said they did not expect a chicken leg or wing at a wedding and talked about how ‘gross’ the beef was. It was completely embarrassing. I also learned that the food was taken and given to staff as their meal (totally fine and agreed to prior) BEFORE ALL THE GUESTS HAD EATEN, EVEN MY MOM. I can’t speak to the appetizers as there was one flatbread passed in the area my family was taking pictures and there was probably 30 people hanging out in this space. I got one compliment from 175 guests – the potatoes were good. Hopefully that fact speaks for itself. Like the other reviewed said, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND PLEASE SELECT A DIFFERENT VENDOR. In the end, we were offered a refund on the cost of the beef - fair. The owner alleged that bone-in chicken pieces was ‘elegant and trendy’. Sorry, that is not elegant, that is BBQ style. Not the look I was going for. Amanda is the coordinator we worked with, and she did a fine job. However, their owner is arrogant and insulting in his email communication.

We cannot say enough fantastic things about Katie & the whole team at Chef By Request! From the beginning stages of helping us put together a menu to fit our vision, to executing a wedding that was more perfect than we could have dreamed CBR was on it the whole way!! Katie made us feel like old friends from day 1. Her attention to detail and excellent communication made sure our day went beautifully & seamlessly. Many of our guests said ours was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. Not only did everything taste excellent, but everything from the hors d'oeuvres to the sweets table was visually stunning. Everyone was so easy to work with & truly did provide first class service, and always with a smile! We can't thank you enough!!

We just had Chef By Request cater my daughter's high school graduation party, and it was a wonderful experience. We had a special request in that everything had to be vegetarian, and they were more than accommodating in putting together a great list of options. We had changed our minds a few times on what we wanted, and Chef By Request was always quick to provide us options. I would definitely use them for our next event.

We choose Chef by Request for our wedding day after having 2 wonderful tastings with their former coordinator, Katie Merkle. We had a complex menu and Katie was pumped about it. 2 weeks before my wedding, I sat down with all of my vendors and was told by Katie that she was leaving the company, and introduced me to the person replacing her, Amanda. I was nervous, as Amanda never formally introduced herself or reached out to me via email or phone to go over our complex menu. My wedding planner had reached out to her on my behalf and assured me, things would be just fine, as this is what Amanda had told her. My husband and I had decided to do stations (NOT buffet), where staff would serve our guests. We had 3 stations--tacos, burgers and fish & chips. There were several items on our menu that were not there on our big day, or were wrong. For example, as one of our hors d'oeuvres, we had veggie quesadilla cones. I am vegetarian. They provided chicken quesadilla cones the day of, and luckily I caught it before eating it! The number one item that was to be MY meal-that many of my guests were excited for-as they are also vegetarian or vegan-was the lentil tacos. The steak was there and the lentils were not. I asked a staff member, where are the lentils? And was lied to several times, told "they'll be out soon!" which I relayed to my guests asking where they were. The lentils never came. Our stations were not stations-they were set up as a buffet. Guests were left confused--which burgers are bean and which are beef? Items were to be labeled and served to them--nothing was labeled, and no one was there to serve. The transition of our complex and EXPENSIVE menu was nothing short of unprofessional and unorganized. There were too many details missed or messed up. I was offered a $300 refund (what a joke! We spent well over 10K on our food!!). I wrote a lengthy email back, explaining my points, and was offered $770 total. Still completely unacceptable. Although overall the food was good-I did get feedback from several guests that the beef burgers were severely undercooked. One of my guests brought this to the attention of their staff and they said they'd take care of it-but never did. The fish and chips were not presented how they were promised to be presented per our itinerary. The chips that were served with the fish were stale by the time my guests got to them. I am still so disappointed by how this turned out. Our most expensive vendor of the night-and they were the only to totally blow it. Go figure. It looks like overall people are happy-and I believe it, as their food is great...but I do feel it's important to share both sides, and unfortunately our experience was a complete let down.

We hosted 60 people for my sons wedding at our house. The staff was amazing the food was incredible. We were a little concerned that the food would be prepped offsite but you would have never have known. Everyone raved about the appetizers and dinner. They even went into the kitchen and made some gluten free appetizers for my sister-in-law.

I could not have been happier with the amazing food and personal service of Al Shelton from Chef By Request. He stayed on site through our entire event, and was an invaluable partner in the success of our event. Cyndi, our bartender, was fun and attentive. Not only did she wow our guests with her personality, but she repeatedly found people throughout our space and had new drinks in their hands as they were finishing their last sips. They both made all of our guests feel cared for and I wish I was able to give them more than 5 stars on this review. They were the perfect partner. I send a big THANK YOU to Chef by Request, and to Amanda Ingle in particular, for making our wedding reception a huge success! We had a smaller wedding (around 62), and some of the catering companies don't like to work with small groups or even charge extra money if the group is under 100 people. But Chef by Request was happy to cater our wedding reception. From the first phone call, to the tasting, to the planning, and to the actual event, Amanda made everything easy and fun! She was always accessible and promptly returned my phone calls. Amanda is very professional, in a relaxed way. I especially appreciated her expertise and her willingness to make suggestions when we didn't know what to do. She was patient in answering all of our questions and was never pushy. Everything went like clockwork and was PERFECT on the day of the wedding! We especially appreciated how the Chef by Request team was very attentive to me (the bride) and to the groom on the day of our wedding. During the cocktail hour, they made a point to find us when we were having photos taken, and they brought us a plate of appetizers so that we wouldn't miss out on them. They even surprised us with a special plate of desserts on our sweetheart table! The food was OUTSTANDING!!! We got many compliments from our guests, who said that the food tasted like it came from a gourmet restaurant. All of the food was cooked on-site. It wasn't pre-cooked and then just warmed up. So it tasted like it just came out of the oven because it did! When we first started planning our wedding, I checked out quite a number of caterers, and Chef by Request outshined them all in professional, friendly service coupled with delicious food at very reasonable prices. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chef by Request, and I will happily use them again in the future!

Chef by request catered a party of 70 people to celebrate my son’s wedding in our backyard. It was a Hawaiian Loua with a pig roast. The weather was rainy and it was pouring when everyone arrived but they were very calm and set everything up on our deck. The food was delicious and their service was outstanding. I was able to enjoy the party while they served . Cleaned up and even packed leftovers. I would highly recommend them if you are doing an event. I got many compliments on how nice everything was .Thank you Amanda, Jacky , Caroline and Chef Kevin.

So much more than we were expecting. The staff were so friendly and professional. The food prepared by our carving chef left us all speechless. They brought a certain element of fun and class to our party. Drinks were spot-on and the server was so fast. Couldn't have been happier with how organized and well thought out our event was. Will absolutely use them in the future, well worth the money spent. Thank you!

I have used Chef by Request for my family showers in the past, but I recently used them for my son’s wedding at our home. Amanda and her staff went above and beyond what I had hoped for; everyone was so pleasant, professional and accommodating. We had 120 people at the wedding and it was set up buffet style. We provided our own appetizers and sweet table, but the staff was nice enough to help with setting this up. As everyone knows the dinner is a large part of what is remembered at a wedding and if it’s not good that is all people will talk about. I was a little hesitant about food that was partially prepared offsite and then served at my home, but you never would have known it. It did not taste as if it had been sitting for a while, it tasted like it was freshly prepared right there, the presentation was fabulous and it tasted fantastic, our guest all commented on how great the food was. Thank You Amanda and the entire chef by Request staff for making my son’s wedding a very wonderful and memorable event.

It was a natural as "Hoffmans" to want to host an Oktoberfest in October. That's just what we did with the help of the wonderful staff at Chef by Request. We hosted a rehearsal dinner at our home for 55 people which is no small feat. With Katie's expertise we came up with a wonderful table and furniture layout including seating on the deck to accommodate all the hungry folks. The German fare was outstanding as was the German craft beer and wine. Rueben and Jackie were entertaining and capable staff that left with my kitchen only needing a good floor sweeping. This is the second time Chef by Request has catered an event at my home, and I dream that I will have an occasion to engage them again.
