Everyone was impressed from the taste of the food, helpfulness of the staff and overall professionalism. Never mind that it was John's birthday and they were catering 5 events the same day. As far as we knew, we were the only job and the only focus. We will absolutely use Culinary Concepts for any of our events and our recommendation would be to choose Culinary Concepts for all your catering needs.

Culinary Concepts catered our daughter’s wedding this weekend without a hitch. The buffet dinner was hot and ready to serve on time. Delicious selections and a reasonable pricing. Servers and other staff were courteous and helpful throughout. To top it off, the ice sculpture was just amazing. Jamie Curtis, Director of Sales & Operations was friendly, thorough and follow up was prompt. Can’t thank John Simpson and his staff enough.

Jamie, John and their staff are amazing! The food is incredible and the presentation is beautiful. We recently had them cater our daughters wedding and we just turned the food decisions over to them and it was spectacular. It was great to not give a second thought to this part of the event. Entitled and rude. Scheduled an appointment to get an appraisal for my October wedding for catering, and decided to do a quick run to make sure I knew where I was going a few days before. Hilariously enough, I stopped at the same gas station they were at to get fuel and drinks for my toddler and I on the way home. The Guy was in the full uniform with his logo'd apron on, and glowered on everyone. He was loaded with more Old spice body spray then a 14 year old wears Axe on a first date. He decided that me paying for my drinks was taking to long so he PUSHED me out of the way not allowing me to pay before placing his beers (The huge Miller cans, 3 of them.) in front of the card reader so I could not even pay. He then scoffed at my toddler and I, making a side comment to the cashier about being 'slow' and 'useless'. I had a budget of 3k for my wedding (with a guest count of 50) catering, seems I will be spending that money else where.

I have worked for John for years and I can tell you he is not a pleasant person to work with or be around. He talks down to all his staff and puts on a really good show for others to hide his true colors. He is the biggest narcissistic person I have ever known. I tired really hard to over look all his bad behavior but now I am not being quiet anymore. He is abusive and mean. He drinks everyday and I have been with him on several occasions where he drinks and drives to his catering events. I have even seen him give his underage employee beer while being at his events. He re uses a lot of his food. Just sick of working for someone who constantly lies and is rude to his employees. Never again will I recommend this company to anyone for any reason. The manipulative behavior he has is not worth it.

If you have requested your desires clearly you will receive more than you bargained for!!! His ice sculptures are his gift and artistically gorgeous calling card ..over the top for personalizing events and making his clients happy!

After contacting several catering company’s in the Valley, Culinary Concepts was the most professional and most affordable for our event. The service they provided was outstanding and the food was absolutely wonderful! Jamie was a delight to work with and John and his staff made some great Street Tacos that everyone loved! The set ups and displays of food look decent in photos. however if you were to see the facility this food is made in, I think a lot of people would want their money back. the way the food is prepped by the employees blows my mind. and the fact that employees are paid under the table just seems like a business owner trying to avoid paying taxes. So yes, if you love unsanitary places where the people making the food are smoking and not following health code. then by all means have this place cater you.

I have been to many events of this company and they are always wonderful and presented nicely! The staff is kind and responsible and Chef John Simpson is a great person to work with and cooks EXCELLENT food and plans menus that are well received by the guests. I have worked for John Simpson since December 2005. He has always treated me with the utmost respect even when I was going through some difficulties in my life. John has always been the type of employer to give employees multiple chances. When one of my friends became homeless he allowed me to take some of the leftovers to her and her children. He is a kind and giving man. I send people his way all the time who are looking for employment.

Extremely unprofessional, treat his possible and current employees like garbage. He also has a false story for every bad review he has been given. He puts on a good mask to make himself look good when in reality he’s a tool and John Simpson needs to be out buisness. He backtracks, he lies, he’s an abusinve alcoholc. I would never recommend him to even cook a meal for your dog. Don’t use this company.

All willing to do whatever it took to make our daughter's wedding a success and stress-free. I would always use them. I will recommend, however, that you bring some containers with you, they do not provide to-go containers and there was some wonderful food leftover.

This review is long overdue. We had a wedding back in February and as the mother of the groom, I was in charge of the luncheon. Of course I wanted something nice, good food and a great price! One of my "must haves" was real plates, silverware and glasses. I absolutely did not want paper or plastic! I found all of those things with John and his team at Culinary Concepts. The whole experience was wonderful, from beginning to end! The food was great, with lots of choices. The setup and take down was taken care of so that I could enjoy my son's special day and not have to worry about that. The place settings were beautiful and elegant. And the girls that took care of us were fabulous! I really was pleased with this experience and will use them again!

Could not have been more calm and worry free for a bride to be! From the first initial appointment , crazy phone calls and emails ( obviously on my end) for my own reassurance. Then to arrive to the reception area ... I cant even say with words how appreciative I am to have this kind of service states away ( from Utah to Washington ).. This place was the most unproffesional business I have ever been associated with. I would not reccomend using them. First, they were slow to return calls and sometimes never returned them. They also promised things that were never done. When approached and asked if we could meet with them to discuss the experience, we were constantly put off and it resulted in an UNAUTHORIZED debit of my account. I would never use this caterer. EVER. EVER!!!

We hired John and staff for our wedding. We had 2 kosher, 1 lactose intolerant, and 5 gf people in a group of about 200. John went out of his way (literally) to make sure everyone at my wedding had food they could eat that tastes amazing. He even specially prepared some meatballs for my father, even though my dad told him not to worry about it. My dad then came up to me raving about the tastes and how quickly John made him a plate. In addition, we didn't have a big enough cake stand for our wedding cake, and wanted it to be the center piece of the food table. John immediately set to work designing a beautiful table that highlighted all the wonderful foods he created with our cake on a stand that he provided. He works hard, and is so creative. His staff was so helpful. We loved every minute of working with them!

After trying repeatedly to make an appt, he canceled on me the night before. For the second appt, he no-showed. So after taking half a day off work, traveling 4 hours round trip and accruing $200 in cost to myself - he didn't even have the courtesy to show up to the appt. When I called him - he didn't even apologize or offer to make it right. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!

I love that half of the reviews are spectacular, and the other half are rude. Im assuming the bad reviews are the people who are pissed that they couldn't get the best catering company in all of Utah to serve at their event and now they are bitter and hateful. If you want the best. There is only one company you need to call. And that is Culinary Concepts! Schedule your event early because they are super busy bending over backwards to make each and every event special, spectacular, cutting edge, and utterly unforgettable!
