Food is ok. Kinda pricey. They serve green river drinks so that's a plus.
Was very busy but got all of us 6 seated quickly! Got there late in the evening and lots of parking. Ordered and entrees came quickly as well.
Awesome as always.. katsu loco moco.. janak attack..
The food is always great. I usually get a wun tun min and a hot roast beef sandwich. The server I just had though was sub par. Upon ordering, I had asked for it without vegetables, yet she still asked me if I wanted green onions in there. I had also asked for extra noodles, but on the side that way they don't get soggy. She looked at me like that was an unusual request. I end up getting my extra noodles in a separate bowl sitting in broth. Throughout the whole time we were eating, not once did she come around to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. At least the order was for the most part accurate.
Sort of far from me but WOW it was GOOD!
My friends brought me here once I landed. The place is located inside a strip mall, so there's private parking, which is nice. The menu is a bit overwhelming -- there are so many items on the menu! They bolded items that are popular. We got their dodonpu, which has everything in it. It was a comforting noodle dish for my first meal! I didn't have a meal on the plan, so I was pretty hungry. The size is big enough to share. The prices in general are pretty cheap too, like diner prices.
Best food in pearl city clean an great service
#55 Saimin and hula burger... Get the potato salad too
Quirky restaurant and good food. Shiro would have been an interesting person to meet! 64 kinds of saimin (not counting customizing your own)! No substitutions, but there's enough variety it's not necessary.
Granddaughters here from SF first place we go
Food is ok. They charge to use s debit card fo eh payment.
Awesome. A family favorites place to go,come to whenever we visit Shiro's. Great food and services always. Forever... Aloha..
Awesome awesome totally awesome place to eat saimen, deep fried pork belly and more! Services there also always great!
Always good eats!
Best place for saimin anywhere, cheap noodle soup and excellent service
It's a good place to eat at lots of good suggestions
Always loved this place and this location is the original. Great service. This is the place I always want to go when it comes to saimin.
Very good experience. Service excellent, very tasty food, lau lau was excellent..will go back!
Even though it's hot and humid outside, had to get the saimin fix. It was oishi. And it's a PoGo gym in case you are interested haha
Love the Saimin!! Tastes like "No nuff"
Plenty of food ... good selection. Very friendly staff. Superior Saimin.
Just about the last of the traditional Hawaiian style saimin shops. I tried several restaurants and this was the only place that met my saimin expectations. Prices are very reasonable and the service was good. Highly recommend for Hawaiian old timers.
Always the best!! It was always my mom's favorite and a must stop right after landing in the islands!!!
Always love their staff who is friendly and very attentive. Food is good and filling. If you get bored, you can read all the different poems by Shiro.
Top's on my list for saimin da best bettah than ramen ya
Great saimin and plate lunches!
Lau lau theres so freaken good, I got small Simon and lau lau was plenty of food.
Food is always delicious!
THEY HAVE GOOD AND SERVICES . FOR YOUR MONEY
I love this place! Huge variety of food and everything that I've eaten has been delicious! No complaints.
Saimin soup base a little to salty for me. Very friendly staff. Place is very clean. Large menu.
Good food good service. Big portions. Accommodate our regular party of 8 including an infant easily.
Good
In high school my father and I would come here after fishing all day long, it was on the way home from the boat harbor, today not much has changed (except for a “prettier” menu). The poems on the wall are still here, #58 still reigns supreme, and the tables still wobble a little if you move too much (really it only happens with kids and this time it’s my kiddos and not me). Came in on a state holiday and was seated right away. The food came hot and fresh. You won’t leave hungry and the price is beyond affordable. Myself and my 8 year old son shared the dodonpa (look at pictures I uploaded) while my 5 year olds shared a kalua pig plate. The dodonpa (which is really what you should order if you come here) can either be shared or are if you’re starving all for yourself. Fully loaded it comes with- Fried shrimp, roast beef, char ski, wun ton, Chinese roast pork, luncheon meat, imitation crab, mushrooms, eggroll, and veggies.... for $11.85. Order it and you won’t regret the “unltimate king of saimins”.
Busy when we went. The only problem we had was getting refills on our water. Otherwise everything was goods.
Awesome Saimin in various delicious combinations at reasonable prices.
From my understanding this place has been here forever and with good reason. It has really good food, fast service, and amazing prices. Very cozy inside and it feels like a true family restaurant. Parking is shared with the shopping center and there is typically a lot of parking options. The interior seems a bit aged but like I said 5bis place has been here for a long time. They recently added credit card payment method which was a worthy addition to their services. I go here regularly for lunch and even dinner!
This place is a wonderful casual dining restaurant. The waitresses are friendly. Service is quick. Very good saimin selection as well as all the local favorites.
The food here is great although it can get a bit noisy. The busyness is a part of the atmosphere tho!
Great food Great service. Consistent and affordable.
Got there almost closing. Still server came in happy to have us. Got meal quick, finished meal un rushed. Impressive these days
This is REAL saimin if you ever wanted to try it. Very flavorful and the broth is so good on many diffrent levels
My go to place when I want to eat saimin. I typically get the saimin and hamburger combo. Once in a while I'll get the larger saimin with assorted fishcake. It never disappoints. Consistent, good saimin with a mild flavored broth which I prefer.
The menu is huge and can be difficult to go through as you try to pick the one you want to eat. A good place to try if you want to try saimin, but personally, the old decor and lumpy seats were not appealing. The food was also pretty standard fare
Quick service
This is like that one place you can't wait to eat if you've been away from home for a long time. I don't live in Hawaii but if I did this place would be that first stop on the way home from the airport. The broth is perfect every time I visit. I work on ships and if my ship pulled into Oahu I make a stop here if I have enough Port time. The noodle have that perfect texture for saimen. There's a ton of combos and if you don't see one you like make your own and they'll make it however you want. If it wasn't for the woman that took our order Shiros would get 5 stars every time. I usually bring a coworker that wants to eat some local food. The waitress didn't seem to pay attention to us while ordering. Got my side dish wrong and pretty much kind of made my coworker order something he didn't want like a good salesman. So if you've never been here act like you have and you'll be ok.
So glad my friend took me to this place to eat. Even though I wasn't hungry to begin with, I did ordered a club sandwich. It was the "BEST"
Old time favorite for saimin cravings.
Good variety of local style food and a huge selection of "saimin'
I have eaten here since I was a child, and the food and service are consistently great!
Delicious saimin with lots of side dishes to choose from.
Saimin any way you want it! Was very good!
Awesome food and service. Best saimin. Ice cream was on point.
This is the only place we eat siamin...best we ever had and the combinations are endless
Love take out. Brown rice option
Great local style Saimin and Food.
Greatest selection of Saimin
I used to eat here frequently when I lived in Aiea in the mid 80s. I had to look it up on vacation. They have 64 varieties of Saimin. My favorites are the Korean kalbi #22 and the Pork Abobo #24. Their hulu hulu chicken plate is great too. Everything here is homemade and tasty.
The Foods is very good and the service is good
Great service, awesome saimin, reasonably priced
Food was delicious and it hit the spot.
Always good food and friendly service
The food is awful..especially for the price..not what is use to be..
Slightly pricier than one would anticipate given the location, decor, and food on offer, but somehow worth it because of the amazing variety of saimin and consistent great taste.
Menu is a bit overwhelming but food is good and staff is pleasant.
I like going for the food, saimin and a cheeseburger with fries are good comfort food. Also hamburger patties are homemade a big plus!
Good food, friendly servic, clean , lot's of parking.
Because it is such a relaxed and friendly environment
Saimin place in my neighborhood so I frequent it often. Also very reasonable
O my goodness don't miss this place..... In a sea of great food it's a star. Wowser Good
Food still good but now they charge for everything even gravy for the mash potatoes and refills on drinks.
Excellent local foods. The saimin is great with so many choices. I also like the roast pork plate, hamburger sandwiches and the special french fries. So good.
It's just a place you gotta visit! I love the no substitutions. But lots to add on! Love to go there during breakfast!
Good service, good food.
They only took cash the night we were there. Something about their debit machine was not working. They also charge a fee to use a debit card. The portions were a lot smaller than I remember.
So much on the menu and everything is delicious! Great prices too!
Another memory from little kid days...Beeg Shiro!
Good food and service
Delicious. Great service.
Go see aunty rayden!
"SHIRO'S" QUALITY FOOD, GREAT SERVICE AND GOOD FRIENDS !
Food and price both Amazing
Very bargain and good foods
Great snack attack!!! I'm a Happy camper! Ono kine grinds!
Everyone here at Shiro's is, for the most part, very friendly, whether they know you or not. Only one time, had an experience with a waitress not being too friendly, that's the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Every single other time I've had a five star experience. Tonight, bought a hula burger for my son and, to my pleasant surprise, they added in some extra fries to the order - no charge. On top of that, their prices are reasonable and portions are decent. They are also open late when many other places have closed up shop, which is something I can appreciate when I get off work and need to get food for the family and don't have a lot of affordable eating establishments to choose from. One more plus: their beef is 100% local and I trust it over some other places, including fast food restaurants, which are obviously bad for you anyway. I hope they never go away. I would recommend them to anyone!
Great food and fast service. Very pleasant staff.
Chicken a bit over cook.but the chicken fried noodles are good.
Go to place for saimin....portion size, taste and value excellent. Comfort foods at its best
The saimin is one of the best in the State. I always enjoy all the food there and the prices are reasonable.
Generous hot roast pork plate and Chinese roast pork with udon noodles. Seated quickly, food tasty and hot. Newly completed re-surfacing of the parking lot a vast impro vement over the old one. Shiro's finally accepts credit cards too. The place to come for late night noodle dishes and local foods.
Great food
Roast pork was hard
Nice place to go to for saimin when you're not feeling well; the soup is so good & there are so many choices of various saimin choices too! If you don't want saimin, they also have variety of burgers, plate lunches & breakfast choices. Service is always great; the staff is friendly & pleasant. Will definitely be going back again.
I work here
Like most local kids I've been going to Shiro's since for as long as I can remember. The food isn't pretty or fancy like the new ramen shops, it's simple and delicious.
I haven't been here in years, which is probably a good thing because I probably would have eaten everything on the menu by now. So Ono!
If in doubt always Shiro,s Saimin allkinda ways
Delicious saimin. My husband was definitely in love. We also tried their mix plate which wasnt as amazing, but still good for a quick cheap fill up. Try their lilikoi juice, it was very fresh tasting and refreshing. It's a bit out of the touristy way, but definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Try the saimin!
Always great place for a Saimen
First time at Shiro's. We were here on Sunday at noon and the line was out the door, so we passed. We went back on Monday at 6 PM and there were lots of tables available. The wife had half portion of crispy wun tun saimin. I had normal portion teri beef saimin. Both came with saimin noodles, wun tun, char siu, luncheon meat, and napa cabbage. The half portion looked like it was about 2/3 the size of the regular size. Broth was hot and good flavor. The crispy wun tun and teri beef were served on the side, and both were excellent.
Good home cook meal
Food is grinds
Shiro's has a great old-school vibe... They even have a juke box! As far as the food, the flavor had a very nostalgic taste... Exactly how saimin SHOULD taste. And if you're looking for something different, they have you covered! Almost every configuration of saimin you can think of. Don't believe me? They got grilled liver saimin! And of course some other local foods favorites, in case saimin isn't your thing. Definitely will be back.
Super nice owners, and the food was very tasty. The Saimin (similar to Ramen) noodles are all hand-made, and the broth was delicious. Cash or Debit Card ($0.79 extra fee) only, FYI. I would definitely go back if I was ever in that area again.
Fast and Friendly staff. Food was good.
Amazing food but the Wielders are not food listeners
My favorite go to for a quick lunch or dinner. Massive bowls of saimin, home made base and noodles. Friendly staff. Order the kimchee saimin (#10) with a side of chicken katsu. Trust me, it'll change your life! Bring an appetite.
number 59 so good
Had the laulau and kalua pork, amazing
Food is great!
Best saimin place in aiea sooo ono!!
So Ono & price is right on.
Supa Dupa cheeseburger is the BOMB! Homemade hamburger patties here! Add crinkle fries without salt... both yummy and definitely worth the wait!
Love there food its great
The employees were very friendly. The atmosphere is great. Love their saimin.
Amazing local place with great food and great service!
Shiros is by far the BEST!!
Love coming here!! Old School Special one of my fav❤
Great comfort food. Lots of saimin, sandwiches, plate lunch. Sit down breakfast, lunch and dinner or take out. Newly paved parking, can be hectic on busy days. Love the place.
Sooooo AMAZINGLY delicious!!
Shires Siamin has been around a long time menu had not changed its someplace you can go and meet old friends food is ok the sainin and burger is ok it's just someplace to go and reminisce about old times...
Love this place, hope the parking lot improvements gets finished soon. The entire businesses there are being affected.
Family favorite, every time my family comes to visit we always eat here at least a handful of times
Nothing like a bowl of Shiros Saimin with all the vegetables, & wunton..Right after watching an awesome game UH. vs. Oregon State..woohoo we won 31 - 28!!..
Best noodles anywhere. Well worth the trip
I love Shiro's! The saimin is so good it brings back memories!
Awesome mom and pop local eating place
been going there for years and will continue to the saimin is the best
Shiro's is everything I want in a saimin joint. Broad menu of combinations / add-ins (some might find it daunting), quick service, and wonderful broth. The wait staff is friendly and will offer suggestions of you ask. Prices are right. You can get smaller size bowls of you ask (even though that isn't on the menu). Order a side of the "crispy pork belly".
Food was tasty. Service was good. Only found the win tun didn't taste fresh.
Food is good but tried something new and it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. Tried the chop along steak and it had won bok cabbage and bean sprouts and alittle bit tomatoes and thin slices of teri beef meat. Was kinda disappointed but ate it cause I was hungry.
Haven't been here in a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time and am SO GLAD that my daughter and I decided to detour down Kamehameha Highway and go eat here! Saimin here is definitely DA BEST! Service was equally awesome, too. For sure I'm not going to wait as long till next time
It took maybe 10-15 minutes for the servers to ask what I wanted to order, but they seemed more attentive afterwards. I ordered the Old School Combo in honor of Restaurant Week. Lots of food for a good price. I asked for my soda float to go so it was not made until I finished my meal and was ready to pay. The wun tun min was small which was good because you still have a hula burga and fries to finish and a soda float for dessert all for $12.50. Not sure if the combo is more expensive when it isn't Restaurant Week. I couldn't finish all my food so I took the rest in a to-go box. Also, for you Pokemon Go fans, this place is a Pokemon gym.
Awesome meal and a great value!
Very good, local spot. Saimen is a good change from ramen.
Food was very good.
One of the best saimin/noodles restaurant on Oahu! So delicious and a wide variety of saimin dishes to choose from!
Great food
I ordered a tofu burger, wife ordered adobo fried noodles. Waitress came back like 10 minutes after and told us they didn't have tofu burger (not sure why it took so long to figure that out), so I ordered a teri chicken saimin. Waitress said ok, teri chicken saimin and mochiko chicken fried noodles. Told her no, it was adobo fried noodles. She came back and asked, "mochiko chicken fried noodles, right?" Told her no again, adobo fried noodles. This interaction happened again. Food came and I got my teri chicken saimin, wife got mochiko chicken fried saimin. We told her again and she kind of apologized and said she'll bring adobo out. After we were done eating, she asked if we wanted anything else, we said no, she said she'll bring the check. 5 minutes later, she asked the same thing and still no check. 5 minutes later we got the check. Check said mochiko chicken fried noodles and teri chicken saimin. Food was good, waitress wasn't. She didn't write anything down. She needs to. I'm not going back here unless I'm really wanting nostalgia. The service hasn't been good the last few times we've been here, but this was the worst. My wife told her 5 times adobo fried noodles. Didn't even get it right.
Always have great ramen!!!
Love this place
First of all, service is great!! Food was also great!! Even when it's super busy, the wait isn't long. We honestly thought we would be waiting long during this 50th Anniversary 50¢ saimin special, but surprisingly, we only waited 15 minutes! I think it has to do with their great service ☺ keep doing what you all do, Shiro's!! THANK YOU!!
Servers are the greatest, they are amazing at memorizing that awesone menu. Our family and friends have been visiting Shiro's in Waimalu for decades. We love the varities of Saimein combinations and also the daily specials, my all time favorite is the chicken cutlet and that delicious gravy, its very affordable. We often bring visiting families and friends to our favorite place. Hope you will be in our community for a very long time.
Food was so delicious!!! I will visit again.
Shiro's saimin and grilled tuna melt was so delicious. Can't beat it.
For the price you pay you going to get hooked up and the food is gooood. Definitely gotta check this place out.
Great eats, plenty of choices and fast friendly service
Shiro’s! All because of you, I love hot saimen now. My “go to” plate at many places was Fried Noodles, but on my 2nd or 3rd visit to Shiro’s, I went out of my comfort zone and tried a saimen bowl. It was amazing! I didn’t know I could eat so many noodles AND enjoy the soup with it. They have the best broth! I love the long menu list of choices and sides. At first site the menu can be overwhelming, but if you don’t rush yourself (or let anyone else rush you) into picking something, it will turn out to be awesome. My kids 7 and 5 years old both love the saimen here too! That also makes this place a winner. One last thing to remember is when you or others in your group don’t feel like having “soup + noodles [saimen / ramen] = deliciousness” they offer a variety of hot plates [rice / mashed potatoes / French fries] as well.
soup is not tasteful for saimin like before but boi how people likes this place the noodles well, the hamburger steak was good, adoboe still tasty but need more pepper corns
Haven't eaten here in a long time. It's still the same from what I remember. Hubby had one of the many listed saimin specialties and I had a burger with fries. It's all comfort food.
The Asian vegetable saimin was so ono. We don't live on island but always make it back there when visiting Hawaii.
I grew up eating here. I like to read the Dear Hearts on the wall when I come here. I’ve actually only had their noodle dishes and hamburger here. They have a huge menu of saimin combinations! I also love to eat their fried noodles here too!
There open till ten thirty every night. Awesome! We just finished. Roxane and I taking care of ourselves. Temple. Massage therapy, Pearl ridge, at body mind and spa. Saimin. ....
Great place for good saimen, cheap prices and food is excellent.
Definitely amazing Saimin. And their mochiko chicken is soooooooooo good as well!!
I long for Shiro's, I need to make a trip home. Shiro's is the best Saimin I've ever had and I miss it. The portions are great and always perfectly done. A must have and crave.
Saimin Haven at it's Best. Huli-burger, Pork Kawali - Oh Yes.
Best food and service! #13 is my favorite but everything is always delicious!
