This place is amazing! Friendly, clean, nice music, and the food is on point. Get the Hawaiian plate for a little taste of everything. So glad we stopped here.

Maryanne James

Best laulau plate in years!

Byron Hernandez

Visiting from Oahu so had to sample what Maui has to offer for Hawaiian food ... So we ordered our food then the waitress comes back oh we out of laulau then comes back we out of squid luau I'm like seriously so ok ordered smoke meat food came was just soaking in oil pretty gross. But the service really sucked had to ask for waters multiple times finally got them. My wife had to ask for a spoon multiple times too...smh best thing about this place is the $10 mud pie that I had to order twice bc the waitress forgot....

Francisco Campos

I’m local, been there multiple times, was massively disrespected. If a 0 star was possible I would give that. We ordered and waited for 45 minutes as we watched tables that looked “more local” get served. Then the waitress comes out to tell us they finally are making our loco moco are being made (45 minutes in) and the first loco moco comes out with a STEEL WIRE in it. So we opted to just leave, so someone announces it loud enough for the whole floor to hear to make us look like impatient haoles. As we are getting into our non-rental car, an employee runs out to take my name and number to have a manger contact me. I will update this review if I receive a call.

Bill Oplinger

Great food at reasonable prices! A local favorite that many of the tourists are unaware of! If you want to avoid big crowds & high prices, and get away from tourists for a minute, check this place out!

Jackie Guilbault

Super friendly staff, clean, amazing food. Order the Hawaiian Plate (pictured) or the Poke Bowl with rice. Don’t forget to try the chili water! One of the best meals I had visiting Maui.

Wenche Warren

Great food and great service. Tasty and very reasonably priced.

Mary Baker

Our server Gregg gave us good recommendations and great service. The Hawaiian Sampler is the way to go.

Rick De Los Santos

Fast, friendly service, huge portions, delicious food. We had the chicken katsu & saimin and both were great.

L. Leong

Good service. Hawaiian cuisine and local comfort cuisine. Generous portions.

Keith Sato

Fresh poi! So good!

lucas mortensen

This place was great. Much larger plates than many of the places I ate at in Maui

andrea kalaaukahi dela cruz

Live Oahu and visiting Maui we are so happy we found and chose to eat here. Love it! Highly recommend.

Lynn Sterzer

Friendly staff, excellent food, clean atmosphere.

Welene Helm

I recommend Poi by the pound to anyone who wants local food, especially tourist. No complaints brought back to me.

HUANG Bill

Really cozy place. The food is a bit odd, especially the colorful sauce. One has coconut milk. The other has sweet potato. Definitely, it is a fun try, but it is not for everyone like the server who told me about the dish. Still strange but interesting !!!

Colan Scheidenhelm

Really good Loco Moco, and they prepped it pretty fast for take out, considering it was at lunch time and the restaurant was full. Loved the food!

Mary Williams-Wagner

Best place on Maui for local style Hawaiian cuisine. Squid luau is one of my favorite dishes. All dishes are seasoned perfectly and really tasty. Service is quick and very friendly!

Todd Canterbury

Poi, an interesting "rice like" food? Restaurant is clean, short wait times during peak. Staff is friendly and service is good. Bathrooms are "Spic - N - Span" clean.

Bryan Wickizer

This place is unbelievable everyone must try the food! Fried rice with Kim chi meat is very delicious!

Kevin Abe

For dinner had the Hawaiian Plate and a laugh Lau plate - enough for 3 of us who hadn't eaten since breakfast. Good fast service. Kalua pig was a little dry but poke, laulau, lomi salmon, and chicken long rice were ono + fresh poi included in each plate! Takeout order was placed and ready in the time it took to get hot fresh donuts next door at Krispy Kreme!

Shyanne Kamai-Sionesini

I have made a couple of stops at this restaurant when I visit OGG. The service is always great. On my recent visit I ordered a Stew Luau and I wasn't impressed. My previous visit I ordered a hamburger steak and that was Ono. Privy to that visit I ordered a Hawaiian plate. Was not impressed with the Lau Lau. It was on the dry side. Lau Lau needs to be served juicy. Poi by the pound reminds me of an upgraded loco Moco.

Jim C

This was the stop for us during our Valley Isle tour. Staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The Buffet that was offered was very good. They even have bacon, right Everett???:)

Frederic Beaudry

food was badddd. Poke was horrible

NICkee MaNAGE

Hawaiian version of nursing home food .rude use improper language staff.all around .

Steven Damo

Food was good but disappointed with the lau lau it didnt have any butter fish or pork fat so leaves were a little dry but awsome killer smoke meat love it great flavor

Larry Novida

Friendly service. Tasty local favorites. Squid luau and Chicken Long Rice are my faves. Reminds me of good 'ol home cooking growing up on Maui. Love it!

Rena Edwards

The portions were huge, the food tastes great, and our server was the best!

Shaynalyn Guerrero

The food is good and my mom work there and her name is kehau

Kemtis K

Food was great but waitress could do without attitude. Asked one of them if I could order some dessert. Then she gave me an attitude and said I will get you your waitress. The place wasn't that busy at the time and she was just finished clearing the table. Would go back for more food if not for that kind of attitude. There are other Hawaiian restaurant to go too.

Julian Salvo

The sever we had was very sweet, I wish I had got her name! Very nice and hospitable! The Lau Lau was incredible and the mac salad is the best on Maui! Will always come here! Mahalo mystery server for your incredible service for my girlfriend, me, my friend and her son!

Debbie Poon

We ordered the traditioal plate that is good for two people. It's a nice local spot for Hawaiian food.

Noenoelani Lau

Good tasting food. Nice portion sizes for the price. Only thing I didn't like was that the squid luau had brown sugar in it. Was kind of too sweet for my taste.

cynthia rios

Best Hawaiian food

Natasha Keaunui

Awesome food! Love the spicy poke and the poi is the best on the island

Scott Stevens

Excellent food, including some stuff we'd never tried (Lau Lau plate, highly recommended). However, if you're going to name your restaurant "Poi by the Pound", you should make a solid effort to not run out of poi.

Jonathan Davis

Great Hawaiian Food! 'Ono Poi! Their Hawaiian Plate, Kalua Pig Plate and the Lau Lau Plate were very good!. My wife guys also love their Squid Lu'au plate. If you love Hawaiian food.. I recommend this for Lunch And Dinner. They are open late as well,. Some nights they are open until 10pm. And I believe Weekends they stay open later until 11pm.

Jeremy Brunton

Lots of options and great prices. Simple diner setup with comfortable seating. Good local style food for a Hawaiian experience right off the airport.

Chad Yamamura

Staff is super friendly! Food is delicious!

Rachel Lei

Cecilia Brandmeir

Aloha everyone out there in Facebook land I'm on Maui and my niece Mimi... took me to a restaurant called POI by the POUND. OH my goodness the food was so Ono..... The hospitality was so awesome ALOHA at its finest. If & when you visit Maui please please please check them out YOU WILL NOT be disappointed.

Jessica Oliveira

Ono local food. Super friendly service with aloha. A must anytime you're in Kahului!

Blue Chill

Always friendly staff and the food is fantastic.

Ola Eng

The restaurant was clean, staff was so friendly and funny. And the food was very good. I would give them two thumbs up..

Doreen Bell

I agree with the majority, this place is a hidden secret in Kahului. I hate when I find a great place that's easy to get into, because it just gets more popular but honestly, this place deserves it. If you want sautéed mahi mahi, they've got the best. Want it breaded and fried...so ono! It's nice and clean and the best local fare you can find in Kahului. If you haven't gone back since they first opened, do. The service is much improved and the kitchen is so much faster. They've done a great job. If you like squid, have the squid luau! It's amazingly good and very local Hawaiian preparation that you cannot find anywhere else.

Ryan Domogma

The food there and the service is great. The only bad part is waiting to get seated. The line and wait is so long.

Thomas Nitta

Sucks 4 orders 3 wrong very long wait for food

T. K.

Good service.huge portions Poi mmmm.

Will Wilkinson

Great service, not many gluten free options, but everything flavor wise was pretty bland.

John Naeole

Food was excellent. Service was awesome.Waitress was helpful explaining the menu to our guest that were from Virginia.

Mercedes Romero

This was a great place. Had tons of leftovers

Lily Kuang

I am really not digging this poke place. I ordered the poke and poi. The poke was very good initially but after two bites the sauce was too strong and the onion was overwhelming. It's expensive. My husband ordered luau luau pork and our lunch was $40.

Hoku Hu

Good local food, reasonable prices, clean & friendly

Tim Cummings

Good food, reasonable price.

marj1st .

My son tried the saimin and I had the Hawaiian plate. The tuna poke was salty and delicious. The kalua pork was absolutely mouth watering! Portions were very generous. Overall, excellent quality for the price. Service was friendly and very quick. I had iced tea and it tasted old. We split a coconut chewy pastry for dessert that was a little dry. Nice experience with a little of everything!

Damien Agosto

Or server was excellent but my dish the (Boneless Kalbi Short Rib) was way over cooked. WELL DONE! hard to chew.

francisco serrato

Great authentic Hawaiian foods, excellent menu selection and service , highly recommended!!! ( note: get there early, place will fill up quick )

Calvin Okimura

Nice place to stop before heading to the airport. Food was good so was the service. Looked like place locals frequent.

Lefei Shen

Nice atmosphere with okay food. However, contrary to recommendations, do not order the squid.

Ren Vicera Jr

Some of the best local food on the island!

Derek J.

Delicious pork!!!! Absolutely make it a point to stop here if you get a chance! We didn't try anything besides the Kalua Pork, but I'd go back a dozen times just for that.

Walterlyn L

Da Hawaiian plate and squid luau was broke da mouth & service was great! Kinda pricey but worth it. Exited feelin ma'ana and wit lefovas.

Daphne Lee

Food was good as well as my desert.

Teresa Davis

Last day in Hawaii and hadn't yet tried kalua pork. This place near the OGG airport solved that problem amply and deliciously, serving up a plate lunch that was mostly kalua pork with a small green salad and side rice scoop. Great service too. Might be my first stop on my next trip to Maui...

jbvrm

Food is really good. Had the poke and rice and the smoked pork. Service is very friendly and fast.

Meleka English

Best Hawaiian food ever! Lovely ambience & awesome service

Margaret Hubbell

Delicious authentic and even healthy Hawaiian food. Kana is the best! So friendly and knowledgeable. A cheerful wealth of travel ideas and enthusiasm.

Bill Rowland

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our first meal upon arriving in Maui. We felt that we had a very authentic Hawaiian meal. Wait staff was phenomenal and explained customs and origins regarding the foods served.

Ryan Mason

Thia was my second time here and the first time for the others. We are happy with the service and the food.... amazing!

Danielle Advani

I've never written a review before but this was an awful experience. The food was not tasty and service was bad. We asked for a booth and were told this wasn't possible, even though half the booths were empty. The tables around us had dirty dishes on them the entire time. Halfway through the meal a cockroach walked accross the table and staff shrugged it off. Do not go here.

Debisree Ray

Visited the place for lunch, to taste some Hawaiian cuisine, and was not disappointed. The food tasted good, and the portion size was also nice. The best one was the dish where they served some pork, wrapped in taro leaves, however the ‘poi’ does suit to my taste though. You can give it a try, if you are around.

Elisabeth Bowers

Awesome authentic Hawaiian food. Super friendly and helpful waitstaff. Great experience. Thank you

Matthew Gibbs

Tonight was Ono thank you to staff and of course CJ akchun bruddah...

Desiree Paahana

Hawaiian comfort food diner.

Julian Genocide

Poi By The Pound is honestly my new favorite, the Lau Lau is incredible, so is the mac salad. The toss with the papaya sees dressing

Rick King

The food was barely edible and the coffee was... I'm not sure it was coffee. It was a stop on a tour to see the sunrise on Haleakala.

Tricia T

Definitely my favorite restaurant for when I need my Hawaiian food fix. I usually get the squid luau, but sometimes I get the Hawaiian plate when I want it all! My friend was a HUGE fan of the macadamia nut ice cream pie.

Daniel Andrella

Staff was great and attentive. Food excellent. I liked the poi.

Rachael Park

Worst meal I’ve ever had in Hawaii. This squid plate had a little star next to the menu, so I assumed it’s their specialty. It’s so sweet and tastes like sweet green tea. Not much squid in it...it’s the most disgusting food I couldn’t even smell or look at it anymore. This place is not even cheap. Go elsewhere you can’t go lower than here. Poke bowl deserves 2 stars. Staff was nice but forgot to tell us today’s special.

Art Decuna

Food was good. Friendly service

Willy Hampton

Getting food a little slow, lots of people. Food was good!

Marie K

Food was good but 2 days after eating here (Saturday 8/17) all of us are still having stomach issues. This was the last meal our group had together before leaving Maui and going different places so we are pretty confident it made us sick

BoBa Li

Delicious authentic Hawaiian cuisine, large portions, great prices, excellent service! Definitely recommend!!!

Allan Medel

The Kalua Pig Moco is great!

Derek Shi

Very good local Hawaiian food. Love the Laulau and Kalbi and chicken long rice.

Frances Oshiro

If you like Hawaiian food, this is the place to go. I love the kulolo.

Julia

Waitress forgot to order our food so we waited for half an hour and she didn’t even check on us or refill our waters while we waited. Alright food and terrible customer service.

Scott Spring

An awesome to get Hawaiian kine grinds. The servers are real aloha.

kaena group

Delicious Hawaiian food and amazing service!!

David Baker

Excellent food! Excellent staff! Lots of Aloha!

Alexander Wallace

Anyone who gives this less than 5 stars is wrong. Just wrong. I'm about to throw up I ate so much it is quite literally maybe the best food I've ever eaten. That is not hyperbole. Eat here. EAT. HERE. NOW.

Chrystal Kitayama

Food is always onolicious & the staff are very friendly. They just need to work on answering phones for take out orders, seating people & taking orders in a timely manner. May be due to lack of staffing?

Jac Man

Come here with a big appetite. Excellent local food choices and friendly staff.

Jennifer Vd

Love this place. Great Hawaiin comfort food. Friendly staff and great prices.

Douglas Matsuda-Boucher

It's local food. Lots of locals eating there. Except me.

Russell R

Been a patron to this business since it's first and older location on the other side of Kahului. Their poi never disappoints. It's ono and always a treat no matter how many days old. The Hawaiian plate is my go-to, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Flying AlieN

Good food & value, but nothing special.

Truth B Told

Great pork and rice! Savory and perfectly salty. Super sticky rice. Nice wait staff, very welcoming.

Linda K

Always a pleasure. Delicious food and lots of it. Great staff and a clean restaurant, a great place to take the family what more can you ask for. The owner very community oriented and all about quality and quantity. I don't know many restaurants that can do the same.

Corina Bloch

Love love love this restaurant! FABULOUS FOOD AND BIG PORTIONS! Our waitress was amazing and so friendly. Love the family atmosphere.

james yuhas

Very disappointed, staff is young dishonest and treats kamaaina like tourists. Very disappointed when I come to enjoy the food that I love and then treated like a mainland vacationer. Haole or not, I am local and have been for generations , shame on your staff...

Joe S

Really good food and the best poi I've ever had. Family friendly and great staff that were really helpful.

Brent Butler

Good food and service.

eunice fung

Foods all pretty good here. A little pricey and the foods a little too salty sometimes but the portions are a good size. And the taro sundae was yummy. A must try for a taste of Hawaiian food.

Angel Kamaka

Kind of expensive but you can't find anything more quality or local. Best laulau, hands down. Everything is flavored to perfection so you really don't have to add anything to anything if you ask me. Best times is week days in the morning. They are usually slammed on the weekends, is what I've experienced.

Denise Govea

My dad enjoyed his shredded pulled pork. My sister and I ordered the poke salad, and we could not finish the bitter leafy greens, the flavor just didn’t blend well with the Ahi tuna. I should have known something was off when the waitress asked if we wanted Italian or ranch dressing with our salad. My brother enjoyed his poke and rice bowl.

Martin Ostrem

Some pretty unique flavors if you're from the mainland. But it was delicious and great to try out some very local style food!

nicole emura

The poke is the best! Oh and the smoked meat is to die for!

Cindy N

Recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Our favorite was the kimchee fried rice but we also enjoyed the kalua pork. The chicken drummettes and garlic shrimp weren't as flavorful as I expected but we still enjoyed them.

Addison Cham

Due to lack of internet I’m writing this review after 3 days and this was my first meal. I have to say the food in Hawaii have not impressed me nor my friends and this place is the worst of them. The food was not bad but everything was average. The poi was very bland and not fermented at all making me feel like they are trying to cater to non native people.

Dr. Leong Wong

Good place for Hawaiian food. We ordered the fried chicken. It was a bit dry but still good. Will try something else when we return. Quick and friendly servers

Wa Da Skoop

Day 1- Our waitress Kana was very friendly and helped us out on choosing our meals. Ordered the Squid Luau Combo and Poke Salad. Both were really tasty and very good. U may have to order an extra scoop of rice to help finish the big bowl of squid luau. Mac salad was one of the best I tasted on the islands. Will definitely be back again to try the Kalbi, which was recommended. Day 2- Did not try the Kalbi but ordered the Loco Moco, Shredded Roast Pork, and Kim Chee Fried Rice. Best Kim Chee Fried Rice I've tasted from Oahu, Big Island or Maui. A little spicy but if that's the way u like it then I Highly Suggest getting it. Ono!!!

Danna Kiracofe

Great island hospitality and outstanding food. Generous portions and fair prices. If your visiting the island this will be the restaurant you tell your friends about.

Joel Maher

Our server explained everything on the menu since it was our first time. I got the Hawaiian plate and it was excellent! It also has a very local feel. I would absolutely recommend!

Ivan Montiel

Good food, casual atmosphere. A good place to dine with the family.

Person

Very nice and helpful staff. Authentic, delicious Hawaiian food.

steven hew

Good food friendly people

Timothy Osterhus

Great food and great service.

Kent Kravitz

I'd always take anyone visiting me here for a taste of true Hawaiian food. It can be a bit over salted sometimes in my opinion, but overall really good stuff.

Heidi Adia

Came here for Hawaiian-styled food for dinner with my friends. A/C is quite strong so keep that in mind if you get cold easily. Staff is very friendly and we were served quickly. Plenty of seating for large groups/families. Typically closes at 10/11PM weekdays/weekends respectively which was perfect for us because a lot of places close around 9/9:30PM. I ordered the Loco Moco (3 burger patties, 2 eggs with rice and mac salad on the side) -- classic Hawaiian dish that was delicious, very filling and shareable for two people if you’re not too hungry. Three of my friends ordered the Hawaiian Sampler: it’s a great mix of various foods to try out but it is a lot! The Kalua pork was a group favourite. The poke became overwhelming in garlic flavour the more you eat it.

Mike Scherzer

Amazing Poke (I recommend going 1/2 and 1/2). There can be a slight wait, but well worth it. The prices are reasonable even by Mainland standards.

Bonifacio Balanay III

Portions was big and flavor was worth every penny!

amos lonokailua-hewett

This place makes legitimate Hawaiian food. The squid luau is almost like my mom’s; fried fish, poke, and chicken long rice all taste really good. PBTP makes good local food too. I love the kalbi plate and the fried rice. ONOLICIOUS!! The service used to be poor. They have made some awesome improvements in staff service standards that make a big difference. We now go to PBTP regularly for a wonderful meal and experience.

Ingrid Lyublinsky

This by far was the best meal we have had yet over all. Every bite was flavorful and amazing. Everything is also made from scratch. Sauce game is strong! Great family place with live music on Friday night. No alcohol, but not needed. This is very much a local spot, so get there early as it does fill up fast. They also have food for pick up. A MAUI MUST GO!

Noemi Zepeda

First time eating here and I must say their food is fantastic. Exactly was I was looking for. Friendly, courteous staff. Highly recommend.

Thomas Burton

I enjoyed the Kalua pork with cabbage very much. The service was very good.

Lex Felicilda

Good local food and the servers are always the sweetest!

Chris C

The food seemed good and service was good, but 2 days after eating here we are still suffering stomach pain, etc. This was the only food we ate that day besides a basic breakfast, so we are confident it made us sick. We enjoyed the meal, but unfortunately, not the aftermath.

Susie Wallace

Ate here twice on a six-day visit to Maui, and came away satisfied both times. The first meal was the squid luau combo, and the second was the Hawaiian plate. The restaurant was closed the day I went back for a third visit. Most of the diners appeared to be locals, which is a good sign. On a Friday night, once a month as I recall, some musicians show up to play live Hawaiian music -- very nice. This along with the friendly service and tasty food makes for a good experience.

Kehau Kalauli

This was my first time going to this restaurant. There was a wait list. Our lunch party was already seated. The menu was Hawaiian food and seafood dishes. Kinda pricey but I think that's normal for Maui. The portions were descent. I think the saddest thing about many restaurants throughout the islands is the food is bought to the table as each meal is done. So there were 6 of us in our party. The easy dishes were bought to the table quickly. Five of us received our dishes within the first 10-15 minutes. My brother-in-law got his plate after the 5 of us finished our meals. I think I was the only one disappointed with that occurrence!!! I would've made a complaint but my brother-in-law was paying for lunch so I kept my calm. It is sad that restaurants don't even comp customers for these incidents! Or even provide a discount on the LATE arrival of a meal.

Keola Donaghy

Best Hawaiian food on Maui, very reasonable prices with healthy portions.

Eric Mcmaster

Great restaurant. Modern, clean, only problem is my GPS wasn't the best at finding the place. If you are unsure of some of the traditional Hawaiian dishes they are happy to help explain them to you and help guide you.. Very friendly servers that want to share traditional Hawaiian foods with all! (they have other menu items as well). I ate a wonderful beef Luau (beef and Taro leaves) with a big side of fresh poi. Yum! Of course I might one of the rare folks that likes Poi (they have rice as well).

K G

Good food, large portions, low price, good place for families with little kids.

Jobie Low

It's Sunday, you just fly in to Maui, you're hungry, and it's lunchtime. A bunch of places are closed on Sunday so you figure you gonna hafta settle. No way! Poi by the Pound is a great place for local food if you JOJ-jus' off jet. No settle for Costco dog we wanted authentic plate lunch and we weren't disappointed. The wait staff if friendly, aloha spirit from the get-go. We ordered the laulau (a have-to) that came out hot, flavorful, the pork was pull-apart soft, lomi salmon was spot on, and the mac salad was very light at flavorful. We also ordered the chicken long rice which was also ono-the broth had a nice ginger-y flavor, the long rice was gentle to the mouth. Definitely order the kimchi fried rice with the "smoked meat"... don't know, don't want to know, but the meat had great flavor, a nice chew/crunchy texture, and the fried rice was piled high with an egg over easy. It didn't hit the spot, it blew it up with no survivors. We went in artound 11-ish and by the time we were done there was a large crowd waiting for tables. Never felt rushed by the staff cuz people were waiting, it was a "welcome to Maui" lunch!

Chase Lee

Local eats, hawaiian cuisine, be sure to gwt the loco moco Friendly staff and great local experience!

Deanna Ramos-Kia Tupua

Food was good, just a little pricey.

k

Great local food with a smile

Office Support

Great food and staff

Louis c

The food and people were fantastic! Our waitress Kehau let us know what to expect and was really attentive. The Poke' my wife had was worth every penny.

sam lee

The taste of the poke and rice is spectacular! Get half and half if u like a bit of a kick of spice but still wanna taste the food. Only complaint is the rice just seems a bit on the soggy side. My gf had the shredded Roast pork and that was fantastic too!

Cinde Lucas

Authentic and tasty Hawaiian eats. First time visit, and we really enjoyed it. Fresh quality and good portions. Awesome service!

Renee Gray

The squid luau is to die for! Just like how my uncle used to make. Reminds me of old times in Kaneohe. I miss him

Aundrea Stephens

The chicken soup is like so wonderfully different. For some reason my platter was on a school lunch tray?

Neil Schafer

Great breakfast, pork was delicious, and I got to try the squid dish, it was extremely tasty, and if you like coconut milk and squid, I highly recommend it!

Hector L. Garcia

There's something to be said about a place full of locals and when your valet 45 minutes away tells you to go to this place.

Kamealoha rick

Good atmosphere, Laulau plate I had was good. The boneless Kalbi was tough!!! Let our waiter know, he took back what was left, about 75% of the meat served on the dish; he came back and said they taking off 10% of the cost of the kalbi plate! LESS than $2

Charlotte Clements

Omg amazing. Wasnt a pan of the actual poi but im not from here and I here its an acquired taste! Mac salad was absolutely bomb and kahula pork amazing. Way better tasting and experience than L&L

Bishr Al-Ujayli

The staff is outstanding . Service is excellent. The food was good and appears to be authentic. First eating Hawaiian authentic food so no frame of reference

Alexandra Kuuipo Perez-Copperfield

I ordered the poi bowl and poke. It was so fresh and good. I was happy knowing my poi wasnt spoiled and taste sour. Some ppl like it like that but I dont. The poke was delicious too. I got spicy ahi and shoyu. Both were great. Would recommend this place for great local food

Amanda Thacker

Our waitress, Morgan was very sweet & nice however the food was quite unbearable. Everything was very flavorless & wet/greasy. Maybe the kitchen was having an off night but I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Christian Finck

Poi by the Pound was recommended by our snorkling boat crew as a place they love to go to get good local food. I liked the food and reccomend that anyone stopping by the island of Maui swing in and get some food. The restraunt is in the center of the island over near the airport and is easy to get to, we stopped on our way home after our "road to Hana" drive (ps, do the whole way around, dont stop and go back). I got the Hawaiian Plate which can be seen in my picture, it was a sampling of a bunch of different dishes from different pork, poke, rice, some beef broth with glass like noodles, etc. It was pretty and gave me a ton of flavors and textures that I wouldnt of been able to try all together.

Kathy Matsuoka

Food here is good. If you have more than 4 people I suggest making reservations. A friend of ours waited over half hour to be seated and they ended up walking out.

Mike Ryker

This place just overflows with aloha - super friendly service and hearty feel good food. Had the Lau Lau plate and loved it.

Dominique Nguyen

Super delicious Hawaiian food! Awesome luau food without the hoards of tourists vying for this kind of service. Friendly, knowledgeable, and patient enough to share the local tips on eating poi. Do yourself a favor and hit up this spot after your long flight but before the crush of everyone's fav first tourist stop, Costco.

Justin Broussard

When I first arrived, there was no one behind the counter to help me. But then, when someone came to help, I got seated quickly and food came out quickly as well! And boy was the food good! This place has my recommendation.
